    ahahaaaa! i started laughing when you started cursing over the oranges, trying to find the blood orange. 😂

    I absolutely love how the candying mellows the rind, but there's still going to be that hint of bitter to pay against the acid and the chocolate sweet. This is just a fantastic idea, and really quite simple to make into something so fancy and tasty. Nicely done Jessica! I love it!

    I tried two other recipes and too hard to bite as the rind was not edible IMO. This recipe is spot on for candied oranges and chocolate. I love them however some people are not open to eating the rind and the texture is weird for them. I love the combination of the chocolate and orange and I added a little salt flecks to my chocolate. What a Christmas treat and I will do this again even if it's just for me. The leftover juice was perfect for my martini drinks and I added cloves to the sugar water. Not for everyone but unique dish for sure.

    I just love these and I’m dying to make them for my indoor farmers market during the holidays. Can you tell me how long they last? And how would you package them to keep them as fresh as possible? Thanks for a great video.

      @SavidgeKitchen  10 месяцев назад +1

      Glad to hear it!! For packaging, I’d used a cellophane envelope, and maybe parchment between the slices depending on how hot it is or if they’ll be in the sun at all. As far as how long they last, I’m honestly not sure. I’ve kept them for about a month without any issue. Shelf life could be longer, I just have not experimented beyond that. Good luck and hope it goes great!!

    So ik this is an old video not sure if youll even reply, I bought cane sugar thinking it was the same as cooking with cane sugar but the sugar turned brown not clear..will it work still?

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely. Sounds like the sugar you bought is just the slightly less refined version. It will work perfectly, and might even taste a little better ;)

    How long do they last? Do you freeze them or refrigerate them, or let them sit out and package them up?

    How do I keep my cat from hopping up on the counter and licking the oranges while they’re drying out? 🤔

      Tin foil, people. Tin foil! Just leave it loose so there’s some air flow… or stand guard and shake a can of pennies at her till she learns. Works for me 😂
