@@TheRogueEmpire Yeah, it's a common flavor for turkish delight. I've had a rose-flavored gelato that was wonderful, and I get my mom a Japanese collagen candy and gum that's rose-flavored as well. In the latter case, it's supposed to make your skin smell nice as a added perk. Honestly, there are a lot of floral flavors that are really nice. I've also had a really delicious elderflower drink when I went to Ikea, a geranium lemonade, and lavender coated goat cheese and ice cream. Lavender is more like an herb than a flower when it comes to taste.

Thank you so much nino, I want to be a chef when when I’m older and these videos are really helping.
Currently making this recipe for my parents who love this type of candy!
i’ve been holding off from making things nino makes but this is like REALLY easy and simple and i also have a few extra oranges in my fridge so i’ll try this out
these look like the candies i buy from the store it has a delicious and sweet taste
Yeah even when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was candy but it is more of jelly.

How long did you let it cool?

You can do it with anything that’s like a orange
@@chadgummit8766 🤔
I can already see so many ideas! Can’t wait to try this with mango juice and limes too!
Finnally, a recipe with the ingredients I already have at home.
I made it and it was soo good
wow, no gelatin required! a nice kind of chewy candy that looks very easy to make :3
Ikr, as a vegetarian this is a recipe I'd want to make for dietary supplements, if they last long of course ^^
Unless you are vegan, gelatin is perfectly natural
@@dharkann gelatin can upset some with certain meat allergies. My family actually is allergic to beef and pork.. ^^'
i tried making this, the end texture was very mushy and not chewy at all 🥲 maybe i made it wrong but i followed the instrucions
@@hayley702 huh, thats interesting. maybe you didnt cook it enough? it seemed to be the heat and kneading that created the texture

I just made it with lemon instead of orange. It’s sooo delicious, I didn’t expect that! I feel like this dessert tastes more like lemon than lemon itself does😂 My mum tried it too and she was also surprised by the taste of it😄 I will definitely do it again and also with orange😍🤤
Update: It actually tastes better with lemon in my opinion.😋 It’s too sweet with orange

Honestly turkish delight is so nice. I find that I like the rose ones best
when you say rose, what do you mean? like the flower? you put the taste of a flower in it?
@@TheRogueEmpire It's rose essence I think.
@@TheRogueEmpire yea you can even drink rose juice
I made this recipe with my mom and it was delicious!!! Would recommend!👍
@@kkawaak7373 i dont know it was 2 months ago
meh, would recommend eating corn starch instead. much easier, and they taste the same
Cornflour is an excellent gluten-free thickener which tends not to go lumpy. I like its versatility. 👍🏻
OMG!! That's was so damn easy. TBH I don't really like Oranges but this Orange 🍊 Jello is mouthwatering 🤤 and surprisingly enough we happen to have a lot of oranges at home right now. Gotta head to the kitchen and make this now 😀😀❤️❤️

So true
How is it?
People sell these everywhere here in algeria! I used to buy those when I was in elementary school, I always loved these and I would love to make some myself!
this is quite similar to lokum (or turkish delight in it's other name) which is practically the same thing, a corn starch based gummy that is very delicious! though traditionally lokum doesn't come in orange flavor, usually just sweetened and or ""rose flavored"" very nice!
We make this a lot in France and I tried it when it was just the paste in the pan without the butter and other contents, I spread it on bread, it was delicious
Ingredients:
Orange (3)
Sugar (100 grams or 1/2 cup)
Corn starch (40 grams or 1/3 cup)
Butter (10 grams or you can just eyeball it if you don't have weighing scale)
Salt (Just a *small* pinch)
Sugar (to coat them)
I made this today and it was delicious, it was really bitter but then I left it in the freezer for an hour and it started to taste amazing. I made a really small batch with only 9 pieces but still it was totally worth it!

Adorable kitties! Love your little salt and pepper shakers too. I got each of my grandkids a set that matched something they liked at the time, like Peeps for my granddaughter. She is also the one I thought of when I saw this in my feed. Idk about the boys but she likes those candy orange slices. These would be so much better! And like others have said I'm sure it will work with other fruits as well. Thank you and have a great day🙏🏼🥰🍊 My dear late Mama would have loved this too, especially trying with lemons! I sure wish I could make it for her.
Coincidence! My mom bought oranges today! And I thought I would make orange juice with that(cause I know nothing to do with an ORANGE😂) but just then this recipe came! WOW!❤️ Thank you so much 💕

Orange slices are delicious! Give them a try!
eat the orange whole, better than just juice.
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j don't listen to him. fibre is bad for you ;)
If you find yourself out of ideas for flavors, you can add jello powder to the mixture at some point while getting it to solidify. The only downside to this is that it might be slightly stickier. Ended up making really good raspberry flavored gummies!
That looks so delicious🦋
Love your videos Nino♡
Great recipe, thanks. And I love your cats.I tried it with a little cardamom and vanilla the second time-nice change.

That looks really delicious. Even I wish I could eat it.
Thank you so much for this recipe! I discovered it a year ago, and we really like these candies! My mum asked me to make them today again; I experiment with sugar and corn starch to fit my taste.
I tried this with lemons and it was awesome! However after I rolled it in sugar it became kind of sticky and wet on the outside...
It was super delicious though and very simple! I will make it again!
okay, so i did some research and apparently you have to cool it then dry it for 24hr so that the water can escape from the sweets :) this prevents the stickiness!
@@sophie9234 Correct - you're supposed to let the sweets dry out a bit. You could also roll them in powdered sugar, like Turkish Delight.
Can you still let them dry after you coated them
when i did that the sugar just melted off and formed a pool underneath so i think not, best to coat them after drying :)
Turkish Delight?

Easy and looks delicious 😋
Can we talk about how this video is just perfect?
One of popular traditional snack in my place, didn't know it can be mixed with orange.
this kind of dessert is in Middle East right ? I think i had some of it years ago i cant remeber its name
@@ragthewor1d It's Turkish delight. Also known as lokum too.
You can make this with basically any Fruit which has higher water content or can be made into pulp, like Lime or Manga
This looks great! Put some citric acid into the coating sugar and you got yourself a sour treat.
Those kitties are extra delight to watch his videos 🥰🥰🥰
i just made it! it’s in the fridge rn, i’ll update everyone on how they taste when i’m done! so excited 😆
Edit: I just finished them and they taste soooooo good! i didnt have cornstarch and used cornflour so idk if they taste the same as the ones in the video, but i still love them
For how long did you let it cool off??
FYI if you live in the UK like I do... corn flour is the same as corn starch.
In this country we simply call it cornflour. Maybe you live in Aussie or NZ where the local dialects inherited the british name for corn starch?
@@May-gr8bp I’m in Australia thank you for telling me
@@senhortoze It was in there for only about 30 minutes (also after a while the sugar on the outside starts to become watery so id eat them quickly, or put the sugar on before you eat them rather then straight after they cool down)
