I remember when youtube didnt existed when I was a teenager and it was common for people to say they couldn't cook. There's no excuses in this modern day😂
I don’t know how to cook either but I love watching these video and I am going to start cooking these and sell them at my school
Same
Same.🤧👍
I also understand people who say they cannot cook. Just follow a video and do what they do.
I just made this because I thought it looked simple and delicious... well, the ingredients are simple but it does take a LONG time for it to go from liquid to the final sticky mass we're looking for. And they're not kidding when they say stir THE WHOLE TIME, I probably stirred for a good 40+ minutes to get the final product. If you stop stirring even 10 seconds it will form clumps. Anyway the final product was really good :)
good to know! Thanks for the heads up!
How long did you have to wait for it to set?
You're suppose to let it clump once it starts heating up lol
@Lukas Borck yes
I just made it but instead of orange’s I used lemons
Tip: mix in a small amount of very fine orange zest and/or citric acid into the coating sugar at the end. Gives it that extra tart zing if you don't like purely sweet flavor
I was thinking the same
@@momomomo-by4lw same here! would have put it over the edge oooofff 🍊
I made this for my friends and they adored it. The next week I made a variation using lemon juice and zest and they liked that, too. Great recipe!
Handy tip for you when cutting things such as Turkish delite soft cheeses cakes coated in a soft cream icing or anything soft like paté or even a salmon taurine mouse anything soft and sticky, heres a tip stand the blade of the knife in a jug of boiled water the heat of the blade will then prevent the food sticking which helps keeping the desired shape of the finished item also after a few cuts dip the blade in the hot water again so there is no build up of cooling food on the blade which is likely to start sticking the blade to the food your cutting...a little trick I used when I was a chef for many years hope you find it useful hun 💜

I do this without any sugar: just the zest, orange juice and corn starch. It is soooo goood! Very fresh!
I would coat this with citric acid instead of sugar, that would be perfect 🤪
And how much corn starch do you put in a cup of orange juice ? Is it also 3/4?
Can use rice flour instead?
@@dilekaslan5355 corn starch has a slightly different texture. It makes for a creamier. But theres nothing with making experiments. I love adapting recipes

Great dessert ! In Greece it is called loukoumi and in Turkey lokum .It is well known as "turkish delight".
I enjoy these. It can be time consuming to stand at the pot and stir constantly but it's also pretty fun to watch the mixture change. Great recipe, thanks for sharing
In France it's called "Pâte de fruit". It comes in boxes with basic flavors (strawberry 🍓 raspberry, orange 🍊 peach 🍑 , lemon 🍋 etc.) Most of us will eat them during Xmas, New Year or Weddings but you can find those sweets anytime of the year ;)

3:31 , Masghati is a soft, Jelly-like sweet made mostly in southern parts of Iran. This sweet is made with slight changes in ingredients and recipes in different regions of Iran but the basic recipe is more or less the same. My mother would remove the pit from dates. Stuff them with nuts (usually pecans). Then roll the dates in sugar. It was something my grandfather enjoyed as a kid. So she made it every Christmas for him.
Another thing you should try is a drop of sweet cream, or just regular cream on it. The contrast and moisture feels really good in the mouth.
I do this but i top it with chocolate, i have so many dates considering i'm from the country that produces the most of it

This is really good as a layer in-between lemon cake with lemon icing. My daughter and i made it this morning.
I just made this with much less sugar, twice the orange juice and the juice of one lemon as well and I still found it too sweet. I will make this again but with close to no sugar.
Little tip: add a pinch of cayenne pepper to give it a little kick ;)
Bet Tajin would be good, too!!
I love these kinds of dishes. Easy to make and with ingredients almost everyone has.
It really is! thanks
I would love to try this recipe with various pure fruit juices like: strawberry, melon, guava, coconut. One could easily juice them in a juicer (if they have one). For the sweeter fruit one could add a splash of lemon or lime juice. And this way you could have an array of colors on the serving plate. Yum!

This stuff tastes great! I did it with lemons. I'd recommend that you cook it until it's the consistency you're going for: don't rely on it stiffening up as it cools. Also line your parchment with oil, this stuff gets STICKY! Mine didn't actually come off so I had to scrape it and then roll it into balls
Thanks for the tips.

Small tip
Apply the little bit of butter knife
Before cutting
Thats very useful on soft cutting
Orange juice....enak banget..i like
Eu fiz e ficou uma delícia!
Before you juice citrus. Try popping the fruit (cut in half) in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
I do this with grapefruit. It makes the little pulp sacs burst (same way an egg yolk explodes if not pierced). Much juicier.
So easier to extract all the juice.
That why I microwave my lemons
It's a great tip if you don't mind the bitterness that the white pit of the orange will add, if you are going for something sweet it may leave a bitter aftertaste
I microwave lemons and then roll them on the counter to break up the cells and they're even juicier.
High power?
Perfect

@Jesus has given you all. Repent or die. repent or die? I mean we are all dying in the end aren’t we. Also how does this in any way make people convert to Christianity, thank god for Islam
@@zzoldd you’re absolutely right الحمدلله
@@zzoldd I don't really agree with the above poster inappropriately posting here, but I have to jump in here. Jesus never spoke of the usual way we die as "death", but "sleep". It is the second death that is real death. Forever obliterated - not being shoved in eternal flames as the Greeks believed, and the Catholic church adopted. And while there are warnings in the bible about the consequences, people are asked to learn about and communicate with Jesus and during the process, they will be changed. His love and willingness to demean himself to demonstrate that God's law could be obeyed by a man, refuted Satan's lies, and because he suffered the guilt and punishment of every human in our place, we can each accept that gift as if we had lived that perfect life, and allow him to change us. So the first death we experience is not the death the bible speaks about being the wages of sin. It is the second death.
@@zzoldd God didn't give islam to the anyone...satan created islam.
I made these couple times last summer and I'm in love! Today I am going to try this recipe again, but with cloudberries, if the recipe works with those, I will make more for Christmas. And: Greetings from Finland!
I tried this and it tastes good but I didn’t get the consistency right. It didn’t harden enough and stayed a little gooey. I had it in the pan over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Was the heat too low or maybe something else?
This is giving me ideas now. I think you could easily adapt this recipe to other flavors by changing up the fruit. You could use lemon, lime or a combo of them for an easy change. But I think I could do it with any fruit I can get juice out of (macerate your berries for lots of juice) and leave out the zest (though the flavor wouldn't be as intense). OR, you could make a combo flavor by using another fruit (like strawberry) for the juice and use lemon or lime zest. Then you'd have lemon-strawberry or strawberry-lime candy. OR, skip the citrus zest and instead use ginger, clove, cardamom and cinnamon which taste amazing with strawberry.😋🤤 Today, though, I'm working on making a cook-and-serve strawberry pudding. Not gonna be easy since I don't have a machine to help make the puree but it should be fun.
just thought of apple puree because I made it. And one orange :) It would be interesting.
7and is 9
Anjalena- to purée a strawberry without a food processor:
Remove the stems, place the strawberries in a bowl, micro wave (1min should do), then use a spatula and push the berries thru a sieve. This will remove the seeds and give a nice texture to the berry pulp. (Speed it up by using a fork to mash the berry before sieve)
@@dericksmith2137 Thank you for the help. That's basically what I ended up doing but instead of microwaving the berries, I put them in a pot with some sugar and made strawberry syrup. Then I filtered it through a strainer like you said. Great minds think alike, eh? 😊💕
Sounds great! I got an idea while watching this, too. Instead of cutting squares, roll it into balls and dip them in melted dark chocolate to make truffles. I love the flavor combination of orange and chocolate. Raspberry and chocolate would also be delicious.
