these adapter plates will be available to the public soon! they fit 2017-2019 ford f250 Superduty trucks. I plan on offering them in 2-way components as well as single and double 6.5’s. 5 1/4” too! Did i mention i also plan on offering the fully loaded ready to go? Check my webstore www.wccaraudio.com in a few days i should have at least these up.
Ok thanks! I would love to do everything your doing to that truck to my 2017 Platinum. I have a nice 2 10 box under the back seat with sundown subs and a crescendo amp but want more. Do the 6 smaller subs compare to double 10s ?
I can't help it Steve's workmanship is insane, unmatched, incredible and so many more adjectives to describe his abilities WOW!!!!!!!!! brother man wow...
Love the setup and the free lesson in how car audio is suppose to be done. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and style. The wiring on the doors look A1, never seen any other audio shop go into that much detail. Good job Steve! 👍👍👍👍
When it comes to online audio “experts” , there’s an abundance of them and the horse shit they try to pass off as legitimate technical information gathered from their impressive experience and vastly superior custom installations, can be easily recognized by its putrid smell. Fortunately there are certified and trustworthy companies like SMD to provide accurate test results along with reliable installation information for many great components Thanks Steve !

Sweet 3 way plate! Be interesting to see if the 810 necessary or if someone could just use an LC using the passive crossovers. Can't wait for the tuning video! Been trying to learn all I can about these DSP units before I drop the coin, but I think I can get away without one using the head unit's crossovers and time alignment.
@@meade916 😂😂😂my grumpy 67 year old step dad is gonna look at me funny when I start calling his side steps "amp side steps"...great video, as always, Steve

Wire job clean and safe & the adapters for the doors... Proper!!!. Man I swear every time I get done watching your videos I want to do something bass related. I think I will sneak a few panels to the wood shop at my job and get busy on my lunch break. Keep up the great work!
Just bought the combo pack for smd dd1 and cc1. So excited. I was about to buy a o scope. Saw the comparison and absolutely mind blowing. I hot a Orion XTR.2500.1DZ (2948rms @1ohm 12.6) and massive audio 12 3000rms. So pumped to have it set professionally!!
When your dog barked mine got up to play with him because I listen through studio monitors, live action sound with 15" reference sub, also we listen to the same music in background, probably your line arrays? Effortlessly loud and clear.
Very nice work! I am curious to your get thought of placing all 3 components in the door vs. doing some in the pillar. At first glance, it seems like the factory grill in the door may be a little small to get max output from all 3 drivers. I appreciate your feedback.
Damn id give anything to work w you meade :/ always been my dream. Wish i could see your face if you saw my builds. N here i am again years later watching your vids again
Nice..! I always find myself turning to short dog, or 40 when tweaking levels. I've yet to pick up any of your SMD essentials, but it's on the agenda. I'm assuming that I won't be turning knobs constantly once I do get set up. Thanks for the vids, nice truck\build.
Actually i had this type of speaker install in my Ford 12 years ago. It's the Ford Fusion european "brother" and i can say that it works best if the plate is mounted upside down. The highs in the bottom and the woofer at the top.
The difference is that with a 3-way setup has more room to improve. 6x9 coax cannot have the mid xover points changed. I have a set of t4 components and, with the way I have it set up, the 6.5 likes to beam at 2kHz. The passive xover has the point at 2.5k. I'm running it active at 1.9kHz and the tweeter at 2.3kHz. Absolutely 0 beaming.
I live in sac how much to put those in my smart car I’ll come threw I’m looking to upgrade it just the door speaker set up obviously not your full slap that’s in the truck
Steve, what's the part number for the PAC harness you used to integrate the 3-ways in the doors? A link to where you got it would be AWESOME. Thanks in advance.
Nice work, build looks killer...wondering if the bluetooth audio from phone calls and the forward and reverse sensor alarms still play through the speakers?
Hey all. Kinda new to all this but I was wondering, is there an advantage to just running front speakers versus running front and rear? Any help would be great. Thanks
meade916 so I did a little experiment. Had the head unit at mid level and put the fader all the way to the front and it sounded like crap. When I put it back to center the music was much more full. When it was up front I also had to turn it up 6 notches to match the output I had when it was at center
Leaving only the front speakers gives it a nice front sound stage therefore enhancing the sound quality and realism. Your vehicle probably doesn't have a very good factory system but going aftermarket makes a huge difference if done right.
Preston Helzer This is what I have so far. Kenwood x702 head unit, cadence qrs6k3 for the front, if I do go with rear fill it will be cadence qrs69. I have a pioneer gm-d8704 for the front & rear. 2 jbl cs1214 subs in a sealed box with a pioneer gm-d9701 sub amp with all nvx wiring. Down the road upgrade would be focal 165as3 fronts, focal as69 rear, JL w3 13.5’s for the subs in a sealed box. Upgraded amps will either be focal or JL
Will my factory amp move Kicker components front and rear? Doing upgrade. Corolla with 6-3/4 components front and 6x9 rear. Already upgrade radio to Kenwood.

Gotta make them for the 2020 Silverado 2500HD too.

True but with them being placed off axis like a coaxial design the way its installed has a big impact also.
