Some history for you. It used to be owned by the Viscountess Masserene and Ferrard and was one of the first (we heard the first) to be built using a steel structure. It was later purchased by a Polish couple who opened it up for Polish refugees after the war who wished to settle in the UK. It was then run by the same couple as a residential home for elderly people up until 1988 which is when my parents purchased. Together with my parents, my brother and myself refurbished the whole place and converted it into an 18 bedroom hotel. Virtually everything in there was purchased new, there are very few antiques in the house. Unfortunately despite doing really well and gaining a great reputation for the hotel and the restaurant after the first first year of opening we were hit with 15% interest rates and the recession. The bank took possession and tried to sell it as a going concern but it was eventually sold to a private individual who clearly did nothing with it. It has been a real trip down memory lane watching this video but tinged with sadness that this grand old house has ended up in this state.

They didn't show it cause it's evident that someone, or maybe a couple is living there to clean an keep out people that would vandalize the place. Banks do this sometimes, just let someone live there for free. They have access to a bedroom ,bath,an if course the kitchen. Maybe they offered the care takers a little money to look around. Who knows, but it isn't abandoned as nobody has been there in years. Guess the bank refuses to spend any money on it, hoping somebody will buy it as an investment. If nobody does, then eventually rain will destroy everything eventually. A roof is the most important thing to keep updated. But could you imagine the cost of a new roof for that place, and keeping it with the time period. Guess you could go with a new metal roof. But still the cost! Just for that one thing.
Someone is taking care of this place. It looks really clean..No mold . or spiderweb. Beatiful furnitures .And even clean bathroom. A shame nobody buying this amazing place.
It always bothers me when explorer's touch and move stuff without putting it exactly the way they saw it , that's a beautifully kept property by its caregiver.

I'm just glad I got to show you guys this place! Cheers Icey 😁👍
What a fantastic place, all that money spent on it and its left to decay. So sad. Thanks for showing us around well done all 💕🇦🇺
Glad we could get the opportunity to show you this awesome place! Hopefully it'll now get the care it cleary needs!
Thanks as always for watching
What a lovely building. I'd love to live there
It was Beautiful to see such a wonderful place ❤️ 🎉❤Music was Brilliant as well thank you for sharing this Manchin,❤
Another great place, still baffles me why these places are just left as surely the land would sell for a fair price even without the building!
This land would be mega bucks in todays market for sure! It baffles me as well, but as long as I'm getting to look around these places, I'm not complaining 😉👍
Could be a foreclosure, the land would be the value to the banks not the building. Part of foreclosures also means leaving the valuable asset behind.
I love this video! You guys are so funny!
They call it breaking and entry. Someone pays taxes. Thanks for filming for court case
Sorry mate I didn't see the part where we broke in?
Come on Paul nobody videos any breaking! You look like chopper Reid:) these guys do a good service
i detect a touch of jealousy all the way over the pond here in the USA, you complain about it but i got $20 spot you watched the entire video.........
I love that you guys go out and explore and we get to see inside these these places that we never knew what it looked like inside. You are very respectful and showing us history. I’ll look back into the past. 😊🥰💯
@@VacantHaven you either did not have permission, which is intrusive entry, or you have permission, regardless, you are not being honest about these structures, this is not an abandoned structure, and you will be called out soon enough. We are already looking in to your "authenticity" which does not seem legit at all.
What a find!👌thanks Vacanthaven for sharing this with us. 😎
You're welcome Louise 😎👍
@Louise Summers, hello, beautiful.
You guys should look at the dates on things.. you missed taking a good look at a calendar, and batteries that have a expiration date. This could give you idea of when someone was there last.
I adored that house like decoration as you walked up the stairs. I want it, oh well🥲.
That place isn’t abandoned, it’s owners just aren’t home. You don’t keep paying the light bills and alarm for a place you never want to see again.
Yes people do that have money. The electric bill is probably $3.00 a month for that siren. Lol
The dining room is breathtaking.the windows and woodwork and positioning.
DAMN! This the best urbex vid I've seen in a long time, mind the absent very rich tycoon that is probably dead, you got it nailed! A soccer player, a guitarist, do we have a comedian in the house? LOVE IT!
Thank you for that comment!
Glad you liked that explore, absolutely mental place, we're slowly building up a talent group incase this doesn't work out 😉👍👍
Another great one Alex.. thank you :)
Cheers Rosemary, glad you enjoyed that explore 😁
What an epic explore, amazing playing Alex xx
Thanks Angela, pretty cool place eh 👍
Wow! What a beautiful building ❤ I really hope it gets saved.
Loved this explore. Very cool place. Was just a little disappointed that you didn't explore the kitchen. The kitchen is always the heart of any place.
Beautiful place, thanks for taking us with you.
You're right, this place was mental! It's a shame it's abandoned.
Thank you for the tour.
Another great explore nice one vacant 👍👊💯
Your welcome Megamills glad you enjoyed mate 😁👍
Smile guys ur on camera someone's watching 👀
Another definitely cool video guys 😊👍
It was pretty special this place, and I got to play snooker!
😁👍
@@VacantHaven yes sir I saw that it was sweet!!!
I loved every minute of this beautiful adventure
Thanks Virginia glad you did! Thanks for watching 😁
@@VacantHaven , I wonder if someone bought up this property and restored it to its full glory?
Loved watching this video. Wow totally amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Someone is taking care of this place. It looks really clean..No mold . or spiderweb. Beatiful furnitures .And even clean bathroom.
A shame nobody buying this amazing place.
There was mold. But the real give away is it isn't "lived in" Its a time capsule.
Absolutely 💯 Amazing 🤩 great work thankyou for sharing this amazing 🤩
It always bothers me when explorer's touch and move stuff without putting it exactly the way they saw it , that's a beautifully kept property by its caregiver.
And kicking the ball, playing pool.
Yeah put me off when they start plying pool
Great find great explore guys BUT someone is still around because the vanilla shower Gel is quite new in the shops I believe 😜 beautiful place 👍
Unless I missed it, why were you two not worried abt the alarm that went off?
Thank you for sharing you journey with us
You're welcome Monique, glad you enjoyed that 😁👍
at 30:25 that look like the Weihrauch HW77K Laminate air rifle, a fairly expensive and very good air rifle, quick note, dry firing usually doesn't do it a great deal of good, truly cant believe people would just walk away from this place
Ah OK thanks for the info, yeah we literally dry fired it twice to see if the mechanism worked.
Thanks for watching 😁👍
@@VacantHaven thanks for posting, the video was very interesting, have been looking at more of your content
hey guys really enjoyed your explore, found you on you tube by mistake will defo be following to see more. I like you was all respectful but had a bit of fun too
Thanks very much for checking out the video Suzie! Glad you enjoyed the tour 😁👍
Did ya'll not find the kitchen in the main house? It would have been nice to see it :) beautiful home such a shame they are allowing the mold to take it :(
We did find it however I didn't have my camera on for that bit. So much to see lol
I wanted to see the kitchen too!
What a gorgeous place .You make a great team . 🇨🇦
Fantastic explore guys, thank you for taking us along. A few creepy places, like the attic lol, and we didn't get to see the kitchen! I'm so glad I happened upon your channel.
I know, I realised I'd missed the kitchen, the place was so big lol.
Anyway thanks for checking out the video 😁 👍
Absolutely BRILLIANT, what a gaff ❤❤❤
This Mansion is DEFINITELY not Abandoned - I am not very comfortable watching people rummaging around and going through someone else’s Property and possessions- the Owners probably live in the Middle East.
I agree SM
Not abandoned for sure! Maybe the owners will see this video??
@Stephanie Monster the Rothschilds been doing it for hundreds of years. Others can let whatever they want rot too lol
Then they should stay there wtf? European homes belong to europeans
they have quran words on the table and holy bible in the other room. how can he be middle eastern
I would love some of that beautiful furniture. I’ve always loved real wood furniture. Excellent find you guys. Much love from the USA.
This seems more like an invasion into someone's privacy. Stopped watching and didn't like.
Somebody is keeping it so clean. Amazingly beautiful house.
Absolutely brilliant, loved every minute, you and the guys make a great team, love watching you all together, thanks Alex 💙
Glad you liked that one Victoria! Absolutely crazy place to explore 😁👍👍
Looks good Day 😊
Honestly doesn't it make u wonder what happened to these people to just leave everything there like that and for the alarm to be going for so long and no one to be checking on it, what's the point having one if u don't have it watched by anyone like security and finding that gun wow and all that stuff, wonder if his in prison or something makes u think doesn't it, great explore Alex enjoyed this one thanks for sharing 👍🤘💖
It's a very strange situation this one, I mean, at one point they had the cctv and alarms working. But must have just got fed up with the upkeep of security.
Stunning place though and I'm glad you enjoyed that explore Hayley! 😁👍
@@VacantHaven its a seriously odd one - why or how would you just feck off and leave a load of gear in the house that belongs to you and just not return for over a decade? it makes no sense, i think someone might have been squatting there but nobody is "living" there - no chance, alarm going off for weeks on end etc doesnt indicate anybody living there or even taking care of it - the amount of disrepair around a lot of the house and damp etc again does not indicate anybody looking after the house or living in it - parts of it appear to have been covered up sheets over seats etc which again is really strange, i think someone with dodgy money has bought it on the run an then had to move on again...
Wonderful ... many kind thanks.
You're welcome 😁👍
Oh my!! Like it? No words to describe how lovely that place is. Beautiful place. Well sourced that one Alex. How do you keep finding them? Super💜🤗😁🤗
Really glad you enjoyed that Nanny!
The tip to finding these are good research, scouting and a bit of luck 😉👍
Well worth the effort. Always pays off Alex. You have quite a talent for this! All good 🤗🤗😁
Amazing video!! Absolutely beautiful 😍
Thanks Melody, glad you enjoyed that 😁
@@VacantHaven I sure did. The mansion was incredible and everything inside was absolutely stunning. I wish I had the money to buy it with everything in it and restore it. That would be a slice of heaven for me. ❤
You guys are like a bunch of silly boys. Love this content. Never change. Just subscribed. Colorado USA 🇺🇸
What an awesome comment! Thanks for this Max, Greetings from England 😁👍
Beautiful furniture, woodwork and windows.
No dust or cobwebs. I believe you should check out better. Can’t believe the police aren’t there yet
Very nice adventured you have guys.Great abandoned mansion.🤗
don't you worry about leaving finger prints behind? imagine living there back in the old days. how enchanting.
I mean I would worry about fingerprints if I was a burglar, but all I'm doing is documenting the place and would never take anything away.
Glad you enjoyed the explore Yve 😀
Thank you for the video! That house/hotel was spectacular!
