This is the only album version of a song you've done from in rainbows. Totally doable to react to the whole album, with that in mind. Would love to see it guys

fun fact when this album came out Radiohead had finished its contract with its label EMI and decided to release it for free letting listeners "pay what you wish" before downloading. This revolutionized the music industry and how bands were dealing with labels influence and also music piracy.

The "Live From the Basement" version of this song is my favorite Radiohead song, and since Radiohead is my favorite band it could be my favorite song ever! Nice reaction.

It is 3 guitars, they're a 3 guitar band; Johnny greenwood, thom yorke and Ed O'brien are all guitarists (and multi-instrumentalists)

10/10 song, there is nothing more you could do to make it better, perfection, those 3 guitars are off the scale. This band are pure genius, they are for real, no record company or management team tell them what to do, no outside influence, they please themselves and in turn please millions of others.

I love this track, beautifully layered and intricately arpeggio-ed sound. Also the lyrics and visions it summons up are just magical. Great to hear your reaction guys, good stuff

I recommend “The Daily Mail” from the basement. It’s live and features a mini-orchestra of sorts, it’s one of the coolest live performances I’ve ever seen! I’d love to see your reactions

Here we are at the best song ever written. Finally! As everyone else has said, the From The Basement version is a really cool way to view/listen to this song, same goes for every song in the session.
    Great reaction guys!

The first time I heard this album this was one of my least favorite songs on it after multiple listens it was one of my favorites and that is saying a lot because this whole record is amazing. I want to add that the basement version of this is so great. My point is that you need to listen to this a few times like all Radiohead songs.

Just a comment as to the number of guitarists. They do have 3 guitarists - they're a classic 3 guitar, bass, and drums band (with Thom and Johnny handling varying piano and synth duties). Thom does most all of their rhythm guitar (he i very under appreciated and is really really good - watch "Bodysnatchers" Live from the Basement (or this song as well) to see just how complex his playing is while having no noticeable impact on his singing at all. Johnny is the lead almost always, and Ed O'Brien does most of the spacey and pedal-oriented sounds or doubles one of the other 2 to add depth or handles lead lines when Johnny is off playing any of the dozen instruments he plays. He is kind of the lost member as a result but also does really nice harmonizing vocals with Thom and will play around with some pad effects as well. In their early days like an awesome total rock out performance, the closer off their first album "Pablo Honey" - "Blowout" Live from the Astoria, really shows off their roots through the first 2 albums in particular heavily going with all 3 guitars. They evolve and morph around this - taking an almost complete detour during Kid A where they all had to get creative and figure out new ways to contribute but it made the second half of their discography much better for it. But on this song - the aforementioned Areggios, it starts with Ed, then Johnny playing kind of a little off-beat, then Thom comes in as the third arpeggio while he is singing the 3rd verse - very cool to see and evident on the Basement concert version. Keep on posting these - its awesome. Watch Thom play a solo acoustic from his first solo record "The Clock" Live as another example of how good he is.

That’s a really good breakdown of them, seriously nice to see 🙂 I would describe Ed as under appreciated. To often when your thinking “what’s that noise” the answer is usually Ed’s guitar. It’s what makes Radiohead unique for me

The more you listen to Radiohead, the more tenuous the link to Coldplay will become. A disappearing landscape in the rear view mirror, left behind in the 90s where it belongs.

  • @naranjo3
    @naranjo3 2 года назад +2

I for one don’t care about the comparisons. People perceive music in different ways. For me, Radiohead sounds uniquely like Radiohead & it sounds completely diff to Coldplay/Muse. Of course I can see the influence RH had on those bands, but it shouldn’t upset RH fans. Y’all need to chill & let these gents say whatever they want to say. I prefer a genuine reaction rather than them pandering to the RH fans. With that said, keep them coming!

15 Step is the In Rainbows album opener ... an amazing reaction video would be listening to the studio version and then watching the live performance from the Grammy's with Radiohead + the USC marching band.

Radiohead are the last truly great band i reckon, nobody’s come close to their level of art, musicality, beauty and consistency since.
Most if not all of their albums are true masterpieces, even if you dont like the genre you appreciate just how quality their work is and unlike most bands they didn’t just evolve but they got better too. Best band of the last 30 years for sure imo.
Myxomatosis is definitely worth a listen too if you haven’t heard it.

mmm... this feels lame. Do you like it or not? If not... (acceptable), why? Personally (here's where I'm not weak) it's clever and sonically progressive. You sir, prevaricate to the nth degree. Choose your route. Be proud of your voyage.
