They wanted the kids to clap but the unconventional 5/4 time signature was too hard for the students to follow. - Nude was worked on for around a decade, starting during the OK Computer sessions. It was originally called "Big Ideas" by fans, as it was unnamed for many years. The final version was built atop the bassline written by Colin Greenwood. The intro is the outro reversed. - In Reckoner, background vocals can be heard at 2:49 singing "In Rainbows", which happens to be 61.8% of the runtime; the golden ratio. - Videotape is tricking you; the true downbeat is syncopated. The piano is playing half a beat before the downbeat.

In my opinion, Nude, Weird Fishes, All I Need, is the best 3 track run from any album. Each perfect in their own unique way, but also complimenting each other perfectly.
Nude used to be referred to as Big Ideas back in the 90s when they first started playing it live. There's a really good version out there you should check out. Maybe it's because I spent a decade listening to it before In Rainbows ever released, but that older version was the one I really loved.
I was 15 when it came out and I was already a Radiohead fan for a few years up to this point. The distribution method was pretty revolutionary for the time, but what it meant for someone without a credit card was I couldn't get it for anything other than free. Even if I had paid $50 for it, it would not have disappointed. I listened to it over and over. All these years later it remains beautiful. I think this is one of Radiohead's greatest albums along with OK Computer and Kid A.
You said you read every comment so just wanted to show some appreciation. You bring a whole new angle to the react format with the voiceovers which is so cool and your takes themselves are also incredibly thought provoking. Love your work Path, never stop :)
The way you're so chill about everything is literally the coziest vibe ever- the first reactions being genuine to the moments in the album, the "masters degree in literacy" esque analysis of the lyrics sprinkled into every track, and the way you're just REACTING to it is my everything with this. No standing up from your chair screaming in pure adrenaline No over pausing to talk Being honest about your takes on each track because each artist has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the intricacies of production and songwriting as a craft I think I just found my go to reaction video maker. Dropping a sub and turning notifs on because god knows I'm diving into the archives of your vids and gotta catch the next one on upload day. Keep pushing on, path. All love from someone brand new to your scene
Thank you for the degree of care you emotionally invest in music. You have no idea how inspiring it is FOR MUSICIANS (especially in this world of cheap fast multimedia), to know there are still young people out there that deeply value standalone music. It makes musicians want to care about every note and sound and lyric, knowing there's still people who are capable of communing with what they have created.
I watch endless Radiohead reactions, and I will NEVER tire of the pure joy of watching someone “get it” 😭 ❤️ 🎶 Yours was beautifully thoughtful. Some lovely insights, subscribed
this is what ive been doing all day, showing people these songs in person and watching their reactions now im home watching internet reactions to radiohead, you can see someones eyes glow when they get it
My father showed me Weird FIshes when i was 12 and i used to listen and sing it out loud with him everyday. Sadly he passed a way a few years later and this song makes me really emotional especially when i was old enough to understand the lyrics. I'm happy that this song exists and its one of my favorite songs ever made.
I’ve been watching a lot of album listens and this is by far the best format I’ve seen. The layout of your screen, the viewer comments, the inserted inputs from future you after subsequent listens… also doesn’t hurt that you’re listening to my favorite album by my favorite artist. Great job!!!
Jigsaw Falling Into Place maybe Top 5 of Radiohead’s whole discography. It feels like the culmination of everything the band was working for, inner peace and freedom. It’s a song that makes me move mad in ecstasy and completely consumes my body and soul to express my feelings that no words could ever do. I see the colors from every sound in my eyes and I see a beautiful rainbow. Then as soon as it reaches its peak, I ascend to a plane of existence that reaches far beyond the human eyes and the stars across the universe. In Rainbows is one to few albums I can confidently say is PERFECT from the first and last note. 100/10 Radiohead’s Greatest Album
Second favorite album of all time. So full of emotion, beautiful production, and a warmth that could make you cry yourself to sleep. So much of Radiohead's best on this one too, Nude/Weird Fishes/Jigsaw Falling Into Place are all up there for me. The atmosphere is so immersive, and it's one of the cleanest sounding records I've ever heard. The way the sounds *feel* is magical. Jigsaw Falling Into Place got me to start playing guitar. The way it builds and builds is incredibly cathartic. The drunken stumble becomes a stride, as the song's lyrical and musical elements grow more and more in clarity. It's a song that really fit's the title. More specifically, I love the feeling of yearning across the whole album. It's like you're being pulled in every direction. Thoughts of love and death intertwine in a dreamlike fashion, and every moment of confusion is reflected by one of awareness. It has a quality of loneliness in it as well, which Radiohead always seems to lean into. The atmosphere is isolating, and the lyrics are often abstract and yet incredibly personal. I think the ultimate thesis of In Rainbows is "euphoria". Only topped by wowaka's "Unhappy Refrain" for me. In Rainbows is like the perfect reflection of that album to me. Where Unhappy Refrain is harsh, cold, and intense, In Rainbows is soft, warm, and gentle. Both of them are electronic/rock blends, but go about it in completely different ways. In Rainbows is deeply human, while Unhappy Refrain is starkly alien. Two sides of a coin, in a way. I'd strongly recommend Unhappy Refrain to anyone who hasn't heard it, but it is hard to get your hands on unfortunately. There are some decent uploads of it on RUclips as the most accessible option (just not the most popular video, it has the songs out of order and is low quality), but I have my own CD. I'd happily send you the rips if you're interested. Sorry for the tangent, keep up the good work path!! Love your videos
muy guy you just poured your heart out on a long ass comment about this album and then went "but this vocaloid album is better". Of course I had to go listen to it immediately lol
I haven't listened to In Rainbows in quite some time. Literally every song so far is making me tear up little, from just hearing my favourite snippets. This album changed my life
In Rainbows has been my favorite album of all time for maybe 15 years at this point. Endlessly gorgeous, endlessly perfect. it's a miracle to me you've made it this far in your life without hearing it until now, but I'm so glad you did :) I hope it continues to resonate with you just as it has with me over the years.
Such great editing, and the way you dive into the backgrounds of the songs/albums/artists is really entertaining. I love that you include comments from others and that you give us bits of the song to listen to along with you. Your reactions are great and authentic. Thanks for these videos! I can't wait for the next (:
I'm sure others have recommended it in the comments, but you've got to see them perform this album live. The "In Rainbows Live From The Basement" is an absolute must watch. One of the best albums ever, performed nearly flawlessly.
I LOVE that you've figured out a way of doing reaction videos that is a little different to all the others, and bringing your own style to it. You deserve many subscribers, and you have a new one here :)
the bridge in Reckoner is in my opinion one of the best if not the best moments in music history. Innnnn Rainbowwwwsss p.s the bridge actually starts in the golden section of the album(the golden ratio), which is even cooler and totally accidental according to Thom
I only ever comment on RUclips to talk about this album. Easily their best imo. It's a celebration of all the sounds Radiohead has created up until this point, from Pablo Honey to Hail to the Thief. In Rainbows is a musical onion, with each song covered with layers and layers both sonically and lyrically. There is such an orgasmic quality to it that keeps me spinning this album over and over again, each experience being different than the previous one. Doesn't matter if I'm sad or ecstatic, I go to this album for comfort. I have so much love for each track but Nude and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are really what sticks out to me the most. So glad you reacted to this ✨
Aside from how great the album is, I have to say it's one of the best sounding albums I've heard. Everything sounds so perfectly placed. It's such an impactful and beautiful listen.
Wow I just found out about your channel, this is one of my favorite albums of all times. I’ve been living abroad for 2 years, far away from everyone I love and everything I know, which makes it so hard to keep in touch with my loved ones, but in the middle of the video your reflections gave me a feeling to write a full paragraph to each one of them and tell how much I miss them and appreciate them. Thank you for that, it’s weird, but it might’ve changed the course of my life in 2024.
I have watched many reaction videos over the last two years, and i find yours interesting. Being a teacher in literature I was very happy to hear you making use of one of your classed. I wish you good luck, both professionally and personally! Your reaction video might be the very best out there.
Top 3 Tracks from this album that I feel connect to me the most are: Nude Reckoner 15 Step Awesome Video. Waited a very long time to get this video and you had an amazing reactions to each of the songs on the album!
When you mentioned the beatboxing at 09:32 I had never noticed that before. Such a cool way to texture up the drums further. Thanks for pointing that out, what a cool detail to catch!
i really like the way you do these reactions, with your commentary breaking up the usually snappy and disorientating cuts to shorten the song. keep it up!
A perfectly constructed album reaction! Sound editing is stellar. Most unique is the toggle between first reaction thoughts and interesting retrospect narration. One of the best styles of reactions I’ve come across. Radiohead is a top 5 band of mine. Stunningly produced cinematic soundscapes that capture a journey through fear, hope, love, and angst. You’ve now heard their 3 masterclass albums. The rest are great.
First time watcher (+1 subscriber), this is a really unique way of doing music commentary/reviews .. it's awesome and seems really genuine. Awesome work! It also got me back into Radiohead which is exactly what I need right now so thank you for that :]
Your point about Reckoner being Thom trying to talk you down a ledge is so accurate. The percussion sounds cacophonous at the beginning to signal disarray and chaos, but then in comes Thom and his delicate guitar. And gradually as the song progresses, the song gets more and more soft, until it releases again. I don't know what that is suppose signify, maybe Thom making us see that the world is chaotic and you shouldn't beat yourself up for being chaotic yourself, thus talking you off from the ledge. Or it could also mean Thom coming with you as you jump the ledge, but that's bonkers after reading it again. The term "reckoner" itself could also mean "reasoner", or vaguely "someone who talks for the sake of reasoning".
Stumbled onto your channel through this video, it is pure joy to see you discover some of the albums that have shaped me. Your love for music, for true artists, is so beautiful. my fav album of all time, seeing your initial reactions to all the buildups and drops and such was awesome because it felt like i was listening to the album for the first time too. also your analysis of each song was great and never overshadowed the actual music itself either--epic video, id suggest hail to the thief or the bends next if you plan to do more radiohead, amnesiac + king of limbs are more kid-a leaning but theyre also fantastic, and a moon shaped pool is also amazing just INCREDIBLY depressing so like heads up

Its rare to find an album that has no filler. This whole album did not waste any track to show what they can do which is why this is a fan favorite album. And to think this album WAS priceless upon release😮
This is such a good way to do an album reaction. I like that we get to see your live reaction while also getting some more thought out commentary and notes overlaid.
Really enjoyed your reaction to what is , for me, and so many others a masterpiece. There is a live performance From The Basement where they perform the albumn , it again shows just how brilliant this band is when they combine their talents . Often overlooked is the rock steady percussion laid down by Phil Selway , at its most obvious in Weird Fishes when the three guitars are unresolved in harmony spiralling around the beat he delivers , with Colin’s bass completing the space . ❤
This video made me feel like I was listening to this record for the first time again - what a gift! You have such a beautiful way of articulating your feelings
Radiohead + Path = double goated. Always love your reaction and analysis. I appreciate the mix of enjoyment and enthusiasm with thoughtfulness and consideration. Is there going to be a home for full unedited reactions in the future? You should check out their "live from the basement" set for this album, even just on your own time. I'd argue some songs surpass the original and the production quality is superb. I'd love to see Hail to the Thief, but I'm sure you're going to spread your wings and go elsewhere for a while musically. Happy path best path. Keep taking care of yourself whatever that means content wise. We'll be here.
House Of Cards is super duper underrated! not an easy choice by any means, but it has to be my favorite song from this stunning album. by the way, I think you'd really enjoy "A Moon Shaped Pool"! which also contains some of my favorite Radiohead tracks ever like "Decks Dark" and "Present Tense". thank you for the very entertaining video, and keep it up! 🙌
I really love when a video pops up of someone reacting to one of my favorite albums. Watching it makes me listen to familiar music with fresh ears. It is just magical to see how other people truly enjoy it and get into it the same way as I do. I had listened to this album so many times, I often can't get myself fully immersed in the wild experience that it brings. Thank you for making me experience it once again. Made my day:)
I met a friend online this past June and he introduced me to Radiohead via the song Nude. I've never heard anything like it and I cried unexpectedly. My tears just flowed right out. If you haven't already, listen to season 11 of the podcast "Dissect." The creator goes episode by episode breaking down each song in this album and it's an amazing listen!
This is a 10/10 album for me. I'm not even like a huge Radiohead fan, maybe enjoying a handful of songs from the rest of their discography. This is their standalone album for me where every song is wonderful and listening to the album front to back is best done multiple times.
definitely my favourite album of theirs, but there are MANY other good radiohead songs you can listen to. They have a fantastic discography and it is always easy to find new amazing things to listen to. It's been a long time since I listened to this album, which by the way was my favorite album by my favorite band more than a decade ago and let me thank you for giving it your time and reminding me of some of the reasons why I fell in love with it. I really liked the way you analyze, feel and live each song genuinely without pretense. I'm not one to subscribe to channels about reactions but you already have a new subscriber. Great choice! Love this album. "Nude" and "Reckoner" are my favs from it. I'd love for you to check out something by Thee Silver Mt. Zion sometime if you haven't. Their album Horses in the Sky is a good gateway into their work.
Your explanation of Bodysnatchers is actually perfect. Keep up the good stuff, path. (Also the reason the time signature in Faust Arp was confusing to you is because it is alternating constantly between 4/4, 2/4, 7/4 and probably some others idek)
I really loved the format of your video and review. Most people react and don’t say much so as not to speak over the song, which I get, but the way you assess what you were feeling in retrospect with a VO is a really good idea. I like the visual too of having the lyrics up for the viewer also and the inclusion of people’s opinions, thoughts and deep connections to the music being played. Really cool.
This is my favorite radiohead album, and it never fails to make me cry at least once for every listen. Im glad I got to finally experience this album with you
Fantastic editing. So smooth. Really enjoyed this review, this album is one of my favorites. Kid A is my personal favorite album of all time. 30 minutes, 10 tracks, no filler. However I probably listen to In Rainbows tracks more thru my Super Mix.
Such an amazing album, so many 'moments' in it that are otherwordly and welcoming while still having a lingering feeling of being afraid that you have no solid ground to stand on. Your 'react' content is so good that it seems the only appropriate way to truly convey/give the artist respect. I don't know, all the work and time you put into these show, and not to disparage others, but the times i've seen 'thats good' over an album of this quality and have that be the 'reaction'...well, i'm thankful you've found a way that even when lost for words in the moment, you can give more to it. Amazing album, and amazing 'reaction'.
I really appreciate the amount of effort and thought that went into your reaction. You speak very poetically. I’m glad Radiohead could bring this album to you.

The piano is playing half a beat before the downbeat.

i’m pretty sure 15 step is thom talking to someone who’s being hung as a punishment
@@kadne9422 this is insane. I cant thank you enough for this comment, its my last message i got, as i was being hung for punishment. I mean im just writing this all down right now. But today might be the most important day of my life. It was. And when i saw my phone and i saw this message, i wasnt surprised. I expected it. Thank you for replying this. It was 12 days ago i made that comment. I saw it when it was 14 minutes old. And tomorrrow is sunday. These two weeks. 14 days. And now its my 15th step. Have a beautiful life stranger. @@rafa10feettalli’m so utterly confused
In my opinion, Nude, Weird Fishes, All I Need, is the best 3 track run from any album. Each perfect in their own unique way, but also complimenting each other perfectly.
Agreed!
Ooo but Reckoner, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling into Place tho..
Reckoner is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It's like listening to a cuddle.
50 quid would have been a fucking steal, and got you disk two too.
i through 25$ at it best i ever spent
You said you read every comment so just wanted to show some appreciation. You bring a whole new angle to the react format with the voiceovers which is so cool and your takes themselves are also incredibly thought provoking. Love your work Path, never stop :)
thank you kashby :)
The way you're so chill about everything is literally the coziest vibe ever- the first reactions being genuine to the moments in the album, the "masters degree in literacy" esque analysis of the lyrics sprinkled into every track, and the way you're just REACTING to it is my everything with this.
No standing up from your chair screaming in pure adrenaline
No over pausing to talk
Being honest about your takes on each track because each artist has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the intricacies of production and songwriting as a craft
I think I just found my go to reaction video maker.
It makes musicians want to care about every note and sound and lyric, knowing there's still people who are capable of communing with what they have created.
people care!! make your art!!
I watch endless Radiohead reactions, and I will NEVER tire of the pure joy of watching someone “get it” 😭 ❤️ 🎶
Yours was beautifully thoughtful. Some lovely insights, subscribed
this is what ive been doing all day, showing people these songs in person and watching their reactions now im home watching internet reactions to radiohead, you can see someones eyes glow when they get it
You seem so resfreshingly receptive...perceptive...and articulate. It's a joy to watch. Thank you 🙂
My father showed me Weird FIshes when i was 12 and i used to listen and sing it out loud with him everyday. Sadly he passed a way a few years later and this song makes me really emotional especially when i was old enough to understand the lyrics. I'm happy that this song exists and its one of my favorite songs ever made.
imo the most consistent listen of radiohead. probably my favourite album of all time.
I’ve been watching a lot of album listens and this is by far the best format I’ve seen. The layout of your screen, the viewer comments, the inserted inputs from future you after subsequent listens… also doesn’t hurt that you’re listening to my favorite album by my favorite artist. Great job!!!
Radiohead is just so stellar at creating tension and atmosphere
100/10 Radiohead’s Greatest Album
this album BANGS. just like ur hair ♥
i forgive you
this is by far the best format for music reaction videos great job
Appreciate that!
Love your videos
dont apologise! i live for these comments. thank you for sharing!
muy guy you just poured your heart out on a long ass comment about this album and then went "but this vocaloid album is better". Of course I had to go listen to it immediately lol
@@IgnacioStegmayerlol it's my preference for sure! i know it's a niche thing to recommend.
The drum pattern in Videotape mimics the roll, the sound of the tape running.
It's SO well done.
This is a perfect, flawless, timeless album. Simply extraordinary.
I appreciate that :)
the bridge in Reckoner is in my opinion one of the best if not the best moments in music history.
Innnnn Rainbowwwwsss
p.s the bridge actually starts in the golden section of the album(the golden ratio), which is even cooler and totally accidental according to Thom
IMO their best album. A pure masterclass
🥲 i’ve been living abroad for 4 years now, and i think i’ll do the same. 🫂
I have watched many reaction videos over the last two years, and i find yours interesting. Being a teacher in literature I was very happy to hear you making use of one of your classed. I wish you good luck, both professionally and personally! Your reaction video might be the very best out there.
i really loved the way you react! never saw a react like that before. in rainbows is my fav album from the 2000s so this vid is special! keep up 🫶🏻
Top 3 Tracks from this album that I feel connect to me the most are:
Nude
Reckoner
15 Step
Awesome Video. Waited a very long time to get this video and you had an amazing reactions to each of the songs on the album!
The flawless cut edit of this video so goooood. Really keeping up with the momentum.
The “From the Basement” rendition of the album is so incredible as well, would defo check it out
All versions of this song are in they best versions on basement, just perfect :')
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast. My favorite reactor and my favorite album!!!
First time watcher (+1 subscriber), this is a really unique way of doing music commentary/reviews .. it's awesome and seems really genuine. Awesome work! It also got me back into Radiohead which is exactly what I need right now so thank you for that :]
FINALLY, MORE RADIOHEAD THANK YOU!!!
Reckoner. Day of reckoning
Death is the one guarantee of all humans
Stumbled onto your channel through this video, it is pure joy to see you discover some of the albums that have shaped me. Your love for music, for true artists, is so beautiful. Even more your videos are very well edited and insightful. You made me look differently at an album I've listened to a million times.
Thank you
My favorite album from my favorite band, I discovered your channel with the ok computer reaction vid and i've been waiting for this video since,I'm eager to see what you'll think of it, and as we say in our beautiful country of vin and baguette, merci beaucoup ;)
avec plaisir :)
I've never in my life learned things while seeing a reaction vid. You're different and a refreshing way to watch these types of videos.
I just re-listened to this album today! Still my favourite Radiohead album
my fav album of all time, seeing your initial reactions to all the buildups and drops and such was awesome because it felt like i was listening to the album for the first time too. also your analysis of each song was great and never overshadowed the actual music itself either--epic video, id suggest hail to the thief or the bends next if you plan to do more radiohead, amnesiac + king of limbs are more kid-a leaning but theyre also fantastic, and a moon shaped pool is also amazing just INCREDIBLY depressing so like heads up
thank you for the kind words & thank you also for the heads up 🥹
Nude is my favorite Radiohead song ever, glad you had such a positive reaction to it. Wasn't expecting another Radiohead album reaction but got to love all your reactions keep it up Path!🙏
In Rainbows is my personal favorite Album, OK Computer; being far ahead of it's time and Kid A is a turn of the centuries perfect album
Its rare to find an album that has no filler. This whole album did not waste any track to show what they can do which is why this is a fan favorite album.
And to think this album WAS priceless upon release😮
Even the disk 2 songs are good haha. Crazy
This is such a good way to do an album reaction. I like that we get to see your live reaction while also getting some more thought out commentary and notes overlaid.
idk who said not to pay too much attention to lyrics because your interpretations are def adding to the songs for me
Really enjoyed your reaction to what is , for me, and so many others a masterpiece. ❤
Jigsaw Falling Into Place is a masterpiece, best song on the album imo.
This is SUCH a refreshing reaction video!!! I've never seen one like this and it's so well thought through and beautifully edited. Just subscribed😸
Don’t ever (ever!) diminish (belittle?) the amount of time and love you spend on the lyrics! Promise me that!
I’d just like to say I really appreciate the comments that you make about the meaning or emotions conveyed by the songs, super interesting insights!👍
Should definitely check out the basement version, it’s perfection.
Nude and Reckoner from the basement are otherworldly but the whole session is awesome and there are no copyright issues hint hint...
Very beautiful interpretations. They make me feel wary with their insight, so perfect.
It is likely my favorite song I've ever heard ever since, and I am ever so grateful to him. Thanks for the reaction : )
edit: he also introduced me to you, just 2 days ago on this video's release. he knew i'd love it.
thanks for sharing your experience with it :) and say hi to your friend for me!
Listen to Pyramid Song
RUclips has been shoving this video at the top of my recommended for a week & I generally don't pay any mind to album reviews or first impressions, but man... your vivid visualizations of how the songs make you feel really hit like a truck. On a couple of songs it made me fall in love with them all over again, like my first time listening.
Thank you :)
House of Cards is my favorite song to drive to at night when its raining. i mean this whole album, as well as A Moon Shaped Pool is good for that too tbh
I WAS JUST LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM IT'S ONE OF MY FAVOURITES THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO IT PATH :)
If you haven't already, listen to season 11 of the podcast "Dissect." The creator goes episode by episode breaking down each song in this album and it's an amazing listen!
love dissect ❤️ been looking forward to finishing this video so i could listen to the recent season lol
I adore this record so much, beautiful production, some of the best and most pleasant mixing on a record imo. Ugh love it! 💜
Some suggestions (and a few current favs of mine) in case you haven't listened to them:
-subterranean homesick alien
-decks dark
-2+2=5
-down is the new up
-pyramid song
It's been a long time since I listened to this album, which by the way was my favorite album by my favorite band more than a decade ago and let me thank you for giving it your time and reminding me of some of the reasons why I fell in love with it. I really liked the way you analyze, feel and live each song genuinely without pretense. I'm not one to subscribe to channels about reactions but you already have a new subscriber. Greetings from Peru!
one of my favorite albums LFGGGGGGG
Really cool.
best album of all time
The editing cutting between different parts of the songs is INSANELY smooth I am blown away! Well done!
my all time favorite album
This is my favorite radiohead album, and it never fails to make me cry at least once for every listen. Im glad I got to finally experience this album with you
If you like In Rainbows, Dissect did a really good series about it on Spotify.
cant wait to listen!!
Fantastic editing. So smooth. Really enjoyed this review, this album is one of my favorites. Kid A is my personal favorite album of all time. 30 minutes, 10 tracks, no filler. However I probably listen to In Rainbows tracks more thru my Super Mix.
i love that undertale reference at 8:30
Such an amazing album, so many 'moments' in it that are otherwordly and welcoming while still having a lingering feeling of being afraid that you have no solid ground to stand on. Amazing album, and amazing 'reaction'.
i appreciate that, really 🥹
