I do enjoy watching you and your husband as the two of you go through your day. But to take the time out of the two of your day and share as the two of you do, is a blessing for soooooo, many of us. The importance of God in our daily lives. It is because of you Miss Brown And Mister Brown people are beginning to see that there are better ways to live. Ways that allow us To be able to take care of ourselves, rather than looking to others to bail us out. Like the government and their programs. My grandmother would fry squash, okra, and green tomatoes together in a skillet just like you do when you make fried potatoes. She would coat the cut up squash, okra, and green tomatoes (all cut into small chunks) with corn meal mix. It was so good.
Momma use to fry okra, yellow squash and green tomatoes together and fried corn to pour over Cole slaw and cornbread didn't care about the meat. Loved it.

My Mother learned from her Mother to slice into coins of desired thickness, dip in milk, then into cornmeal seasoned as desired , then fry. My kids loved going to Grannys in summer to get Squash Chips. Cooking for myself only now, I still cook gobs, then package in seal a meal & freeze to later refry in airfryer. So great to have fresh from garden Squash Chips on cold winter days.

Sadly, my sister, who had a nice garden and would share with me, lost her husband last summer and has moved from her house to a condo. Now I have to hunt around for good yellow, squash, one of my favorite summer treats.
Me Lori, I use whatever's at hand to fry squash or any other veggies - AP flour, SR flour, cornmeal, SR cornmeal, cracker crumbs, any combo of these. If I don't have buttermilk, I'll beat an egg in some milk. We use the handle end of a wooden spoon stuck strait down in the fat to check the heat. If it's hot enough, bubbles will form around the spoon handle. Can't wait til our squash comes on! Yours looks sooo good!!
Oh yum! I love squash, but always sliced them too. I love your tips about the cornstarch or arrowroot. And I love the idea of cubing them over slicing them. Never used buttermilk either, but have learned as I age that buttermilk is great for lots of things. Now I will have to try squash this way! Thanks for the lesson Miss Lori. You sure are a great cook! Hugs and blessings, Brenda
I love fried squash, zucchini, okra and cauliflower, that's good eating in the summer, not heavy either. Would love a video of how you freeze your squash. Ms. Lori will you and Mr. Brown adopt me lol 😂😂😂
The first time I ever ate fried squash was in Arkansas. I used to make it and take it to my husband for dinner when he worked nights at the chicken factory. I am fixing to make some this weekend! Good stuff!
I wouldn't eat squash as a kid, but discovered it later as an adult and love it. Favorite way to eat it is yellow crook neck sliced up with zucchini and an onion. Saute' all in some butter till desired doneness, then place over some rice and add mozzarella cheese on top. Salt and plenty of pepper and yum!
My mom has been gone over 20 years, but this was one of her favorite foods, Thank you for this awesome, but simple recipe. I sure would love to be related to Mr. and Mrs Brown. They are just great people who love the Lord and each other, and I love them!!!
Love squash! My favorite way is marinated in Italian Wishbone dressing then fried in an iron skillet with the grilled grates in insure caramelized flavor.
Good morning Miss Lori and Mr. Brown! I love your channel! We had some yellow squash and I cooked them up using your recipe last night and they were delish! Love squash fixed anyway. I got my kids to eat it. I took the squash and cut it long wise and sprinkled balsamic vinegar and grilled it, the kids loved it and have ate it ever since. Have a blessed day y’all!

Ms Lori, I love squash.I cut mine in chunks along with zucchini, peppers, onions also cut in chunks and put into a bowl. Add 2T of oil and garlic powder and Mediterranean basil. Place on cookie sheet and put in oven at 375. Bake approximately 25-30 min. I could eat it all at one sitting. So good. I will be fixing your recipe also. God bless.
Yes, Martha, us southerners love everything fried. I love it, but my favorite is just squash and onions sautéed slowly in butter with salt and pepper. That brings out a delicious, deep, unique flavor that just says summertime to me.
Thank you Mrs. Lori for addressing the flour by adding baking powder and salt. Mrs. Lori, we have not planted our garden yet! it is still to cold in Wisconsin to do so! they are talking a frost tonight 27 May and tomorrow as well. I will have to try this when we get it planted! thank you so much Mrs. Lori, love y'all

I’ve learned so much watching you cook. Thank you.
Oh my goodness ❣️ Nothing like fried squash 😍
anything is possible obviously.
How are you doing today?
I love fried squash, zucchini, okra and cauliflower, that's good eating in the summer, not heavy either.
Would love a video of how you freeze your squash.
Ms. Lori will you and Mr. Brown adopt me lol 😂😂😂
The first time I ever ate fried squash was in Arkansas. I used to make it and take it to my husband for dinner when he worked nights at the chicken factory. I am fixing to make some this weekend! Good stuff!
This make me smile and remember the good old days when life was simple and grandma knew how to make a little into a lot ❤
Yum that sounds good
Good morning Miss Lori and Mr. Brown! I love your channel! We had some yellow squash and I cooked them up using your recipe last night and they were delish! I have never added cornstarch before and you are so right, it made them crunchy!!! Thank you for your wonderful channel and the time and energy you both put into including us on your journey and sharing your recipes, and gardening ideas with us!!!! God Bless you and your family! ❣
Wonderful!
I love all battered fried veggies!! Those yellow squash look super good! Thanks Mrs. Lori for sharing. Looks delish!! Xoxo
Love squash fixed anyway. I got my kids to eat it. I took the squash and cut it long wise and sprinkled balsamic vinegar and grilled it, the kids loved it and have ate it ever since. Have a blessed day y’all!
My mom always made deep fried zucchini. It was a family favorite! My dad always grew squash and tomatoes in the back yard. I'm going to try thus recipe 😋, made me hungry just watching you make it!👍👍👍
Best opening to a you tube channel. Love the dancing, makes me smile everytime. ❤️🥰😊
My absolute favorite veggies are okra and yellow squash. Those looked delish! Cannot wait to see the video you make on freezing up your squash! 💕
I think that would be good with some chunks of onion mixed with it. This looks so good. We are about a week away from harvesting ours.
anything you make your food with is amazing as long as it tastes good to you it will taste good to everyone else as well.
How are you doing today chery?
Miss Lori we are from NC and my grandmother made squash like you. Unfortunately my mother and the aunties went the sliced thin as paper route. So happy you posted this one. Can't wait to fry up a batch.

I heard putting it in the flour 15 mins makes it stick 🤣. Good advice. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your yummy fried squash definitely I will make it for my grandchildren and one day I wish to visit your family farm God bless 👍😇
Nothing like some good ole fried squash, fried corn, cornbread, and fresh sliced tomato for supper. ✌️💕✌️💕
Omgosh you just made me so hungry! Yum
My Granny made her squash this way and I didn't really appreciate all she put into her cooking until I got older and cooking myself and I just wish I would have been more mindful when she was alive to tell her much I loved her cooking us big family meals no matter if she was feeling well or not she was in the kitchen. Thank you so much for this memory of my very wonderful Granny. RIP Granny and God bless.
I hope to plant my herbs, squash, tomatoes, bell and jalapenos tomorrow. Everything has been in and out of the house because of freezing weather. We really like fried squash!
I hope it warms up soon for ya!
@@WhippoorwillHoller We had another frosty night, but I'm taking a chance and putting them out today. I'm glad I didn't go by the accuweather 30 day forecast!
I swear i could smell it cookin!!! Made me hungary!!!!🐾🐾🐾🐾🐈🐈🐈🐈
Oh lawd love squash. Mama taught me to use streak of lean streak of fat, fry the round slices of squash with onions. Going to try this for something different. Thank you Mrs. Lori. God bless you and your family ❤
Oh my !!! Can't wait to get some squash !!!!! My mom also use to put sugar and water on squash and cook it in her iron skillet ! Very good. Have you ever known of fixing it that way? I enjoy your videos so much. GOD BLESS YOU AND MR. BROWN
Love crispy squash. Gonna make this weekend just like you
Ms Lori, I love squash.I cut mine in chunks along with zucchini, peppers, onions also cut in chunks and put into a bowl. Add 2T of oil and garlic powder and Mediterranean basil. Place on cookie sheet and put in oven at 375. Bake approximately 25-30 min. I could eat it all at one sitting. So good. I will be fixing your recipe also. God bless.
I've never seen yellow squash prepared that way, but then I grew up in New England and not the South! 😉😉 Looks yummy!
Yes, Martha, us southerners love everything fried. I love it, but my favorite is just squash and onions sautéed slowly in butter with salt and pepper. That brings out a delicious, deep, unique flavor that just says summertime to me.
Another great video for our soles.
The last shot of the video is priceless with your tongue sticking out!😂🤣
Thank you Mrs. Lori, love y'all
Pay no attention to the snarky comments. Love your videos. You are a great cook. Can't wait to get one of your cookbooks. Keep the videos coming.
This looks delicious! My stepfather is from Arkansas, I think I will surprise him with this 😊🕊️
Love how you gave our Lord. Glory love you. Sister
I definitely want to see how you freeze squash. I’ve tried it and it seemed to just be mushy when I cooked it. Side note: my daughter and son-in-law live in Harrison (I’m in FL) and it’s so beautiful up there!
Hi miss Lori ❣️🌿🐦
I would love to see a video on how you freeze your squash. I love your good ol' country cooking, I was raised by a Southern cook.
I love you Mama, wherever you are in God's great universe. God bless y'all.
Jude, from Kentucky ✝️🥀🐴🇺🇲💚
I love your channel, Miss Lori. A sprinkle of dill would make that squash sing Halleluiah.
Love yellow squash parmesan cheese. Yum
Yummmm! Can't wait to get squash this year! Just now planting mine here in Louisville, Ky zone 6b. Been cool and way to wet to plant warmer weather veggies until now. Here's hopin'!
I get a little jealous when you talk of cool weather and hot weather garden. We live in western Canada and have a short growing season. We can get frost every month. We have two large gardens and three greenhouses for the two of us and if all goes well we have lots to share. I love your recipes and have tried several. I especially enjoy your seasoning mixes. God Bless you and Mr. Brown. In many ways you remind me of my husband and I.
I'll be chunking my squash up! We eat a lot of squash during the summer and fall.. I sprinkle it with parmesan cheese as soon as it's out of the frying pan and occasionally I'll serve it with marinara sauce as a dip.. So good!💗
Miss Lori I love watchiyou cook I thought I knew a lot about cooking but your. always teaching me something new,.I watch all your shows, you and Mr. BROWN ARE TOPS IN MY BOOK.I pray that all goes well for you and mr.Brown,I've watched you so long that you feel like family, keep up the good work and God bless.

Same here, it’s 9:pm and if I had any squash, I think I’d go fix some! Haha
😂
Yellow squash is sooo good. I love it anyway it can be cooked! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Thanks for the tip on using arrowroot!
One thing as about growing up with squash , grandma would slice and fry it and we would eat sandwiches with mustard and squash. Still do to this day.
My husband had never had fried squash. I got him to try it, and dear lord ,I created a monster! He can't get enough!😄 It's always amazing to me that the people who know the least, seem to have the most to say, and boy do they love to share!
