I have no idea why anyone would want something like that wing on their car, but is was fun watching you do it and listening to that great boogie guitar. Thanks as always.
Hey Pete Reading some of the comments before this one. I too am surprised by the Honda. However my thought was "Cool for Pete he has opened his doors to the tuner crowd". Another revenue stream. As you stated earlier it's a painting and installation video. Nothing more. Funny how people view things. Thanks for all the good advice.
Thanks David, you're right, it doesn't matter what's under it. I saw some tuner kids installing these on video, they missed the finer tips on the install
@@PetesGarage I get it it. Just harpoonin' ya. Ironically, about 20 min prior to this vid, I ordered a correct near-$500 rear spoiler kit for my 1970 429CJ Cyclone Spoiler. Last "major" piece I needed.
Hey Pete I love your videos, even learned how to build my 350 for my square body from your videos. I was wondering if you could do a newer 5.7 hemi build series some time?
Great video !:) wouldn't double sided horrible tape be a better option to avoid squeakint / movement vs weather stripping? I just was thinking it would help hold it in place and there for reduce movement more than the weather stripping . But wasnt sure. Also any issues with hatch staying up due to added weight from spoiler?
Hey Pete great video! I changed my trailblazer 4.2L I6 oil yesterday and it was showing bad signs of wear. I want to rebuild it or rebuild one from a junk yard I was wondering if there was a book that listed step by step or Atleast have all the torque specs in one spot?
I got one of these for my 2017 civic ex. It's not a hatchback. I am terrified of putting this on. I'm scared of messing it up. I'd say the spoiler weighs about 8 lbs
Pete, did you have any issues with the single black bolt that is used to hold the cover plate on either side? Mine is like only going in 3/4 way and I may have to use some washers.....thoughts?
i have the same template and when i put it against the base of the winglet supports it looks like the template is a tad bit bigger. wad that template provided with the box or did you print that one yourself? if thats the one that ABS Dynamics ships out, did you have alignment issues? doesnt look like you did but i feel like this template will give me holes that are off.

I will try
That wing adds at least 20 horsepower! Good tip Pete not using loctite in this case. 👍
22...lol
Always a pleasure.
Thanks!
Looks like you're using Wiha screwdrivers. I have a set and they are great!
Yes they are!
WOW, whar a great paint job..
Thanks 👍

That could work. The added weight does make the hatch difficult to stay open
Great Video Pete! wouldyou know what size those screws that are used to attach the wing to the car is? the 2 long ones and the 2 shorter ones,
I'm sorry I don't
Helpful enough so we can do it. I laughed at the Frank part.
Frank is all over

@@PetesGarage ended up doing it. Took about 2 hours and alot of patience. The non hatch is definitely an obstacle. Thanks for the helpful video
Great job!
Thanks for the video! Helped me out so much. I have to ask, what exhaust do you have on that civic? Sounds rowdy
Straight pipe exhaust out a 4 tip trumpet
Pete, did you have any issues with the single black bolt that is used to hold the cover plate on either side? Mine is like only going in 3/4 way and I may have to use some washers.....thoughts?
No, it may be stripped, tap the hole out
I bought my wing from Pro Civic. I have a lot of hardware that they sent me. Am I supposed to use all of it? Lots of washers and washer nuts
I had hardware leftover too

What kind of weather stripping do you recommend?
Most any will work
Would you recommend filling the wing with expanding foam?
I do not see a reason to, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt

The smallest amount you can buy. Depending on the paint it gets thinned 1:1 so 4 ounces is plenty
