- The Acura DC5 RSX Build is FINALLY at the starting point I hoped for! In today's video, we install an OEM A-Spec/Type R High Spoiler & eBay Decklid! But of course, no car project would be complete without a surprise or two. So kick back, relax, and watch me put a spoiler on my spoiler on my spoiler. Enjoy!
Installing a spoiler and drilling holes can be tricky, but fortunately Honda made it easy for enthusiasts to figure it out! In my previous video, I explained that I acquired a Genuine A-Spec/Type R spoiler and purchase an eBay A Spec decklid separately. This combo will cover the existing trunk holes and still utilize the Type S Trunk holes. So today, I show you how to get the best fitment for the eBay decklid and how to property install the spoiler on the trunk with OEM hardware/gaskets.
But as usual, there's always some sort of surprise with car stuff. I find out that the hatch on the car isn't the original (because I'm a dummy), but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Less holes to cover isn't a bad thing! Th process for the install is straight forward but time consuming. Follow along with the video and order any parts you need before jumping in. For reference, the final bit I used for drilling was a 1/4 inch bit.
Once the high spoiler cures, I can't wait to install the Password JDM Carbon Gurney flap on the RSX. This rear end is going to look SO GOOD I promise. We've reached a baseline starting point, and the modding can FINALLY begin!

I did mine last summer, and yes, it does takes a bit of a work. I’m glad I had my aunt to give me a hand. Yep, that’s definitely a replica. I got mine sent from Japan from an Integra donor. Good job man.

Love the rsx. Use to own a 06 white pearl tyoe s. Definitely looks great with the high spoiler. Going to need to swap out the hatch lid struts as those will not be able to handle the new weight. Don't remember the part as it's been a long while. Loving the new build though, and waiting for more content to drop. 👌👌🔥🔥
Struts will be on the way as soon as these get tired. They seem to be holding it for now!
I have a 06 white pearl type s and got an OEM ASPEC wing that I'm adding next week. I have all parts except the upgraded struts you mention. I think it's 08F02-S6M-000R1 (and -R2), but not certain.
I put one on my RSX. Looks way better. Easy install. Don't forget lock tite lol

Anthony, Honda makes a plug you can put to delete the wiper on the backglass, i put one on my integra, its super clean!

Should take out the rsx type s badges if your gonna rock the red H imo. My 06 type s is getting repainted I told them to take them off since I got the front back honda emblems on the way from Japan along with type r taillights

Why does your spoiler sit like an inch from the edge of the trunk? I bought this exact same one from the link you posted and it sits right on the edge of my truck causing the mini deck lid that I bought not to fit. Any help you’ll be gladly appreciated!

They are the same car. They both have the Zenki and Kouki version (the restyling, which this car is, that's why it's got different tail lights and headlights, amongst other little details).
This car imo looks better all around, looks more aggressive, better engine, faster and still light weight. On top of that it’s aging pretty well, unlike the previous intergras (especially the American version)
@@Andy3x Personally I feel like the look of the rsx compared to the integra is like comparing a 6th gen civic like the one anthony has to something like an 8th gen civic I don't really like the more bubble look of the car.

Do you need to upgrade your trunk lid struts because of added weight? USDM and JDM partnumbers for those are different. Also, how did you plan to cover holes, if you'd had 05-06 hatch?
Typically yes. Mine seem to be doing the job for now though
I'm doing this to my integra type s. I've tried the link to find the rear ducktail you used, but there's nothing available on Australian eBay. If i use the description you've said in the comments all i get are wings for toy cars. Can you help me out with more information about it, please? I like the look with the decklid under the wing but finding it on Australian eBay is impossible. If I do find one it's a full sized one and won't fit once the wing is installed. Please help a fellow type s owner.
Yup next you should do an integra, but a 90-93 or a 94-97

The aftermarket wings look nearly identical to the oem one. Currently oem ones are much more expensive than aftermarket ones. So my question is was it worth it shelling out the extra for the oem one?
No it’s not. Leaving it stock is the way to go.

The Decklid spoilers unfortunately out of stock, I'm doubtful but I might see if the original wing can fit with the large one. Seems like it's too long though.
It is too long. You would have to trim the deck lid

Bro that thing looks sick as it is right now. But I can't help but notice how much I don't like the idea of the carbon fiber on the wing and stuff. The reason why I love the look as is, is because its jet black everywhere except for some key spots like the lights, emblum, wheels, ect. I think you should keep off the carbon but I'm sure there will be some who disagree.
The carbon will flow well. It will probably be the only carbon on the outside
