We of course want to maximise the output of the wrists but we also need a rotating club face in order to have control over our shots so here are a couple of drills here to help you guys out with the last thing to fire in that kinetic chain; the wrists.
As always, a huge thanks to Graeme for letting us share his ZEN Golf Mechanics experience with you guys!

'That gives you an artistic license to be creative.' What a wonderful expression. This is why I enjoy your teaching. You teach people how to move like a human being and not a robot.
Best golf coaching channel on RUclips by miles!
Marcus the different methods you utilize to get folks changing their swings is amazing. Love it Love it Love it!
Appreciate it! 🙏
Never thought about the waggle being a part of the intention of the type of shot you envision. This really does help with shot shaping. You boys are fantastic. Zen has done it again. Cheers.
You get style points for a good waggle too 😉
This has literally become my most favorite video …🎉
Quality thought process to the game from Marcus. If possible some slow motion swings Marcus.
Man that drill with the red thingy just opened my mind like crazy!! I tried it and then added hitting with the toe first and immediately realized that I order to hit toe first the head had to lead first which caused the flip action! I realized that that’s kinda what I used to do when I played! For the heel to hit, hands have to lead, but for toe to hit, head has to lead! Wow!! You really are very good. One of your drills always helps to open your the thought process to understand more than you even say!! But as you always say, you are help to unlock what our bodies instinctively know how to do. Another great one!!!🫡👍
Glad it helped and appreciate the feedback!
Another great one Marcus. Still really need that free lesson mate shot 42 over 9 yesterday couldn't hit the driver at all 😞
It’s great seeing how your teaching constantly adapts and evolves.
Cheers, Philip!
This is gold dust. Excellent video!
Thanks as always, Mr Kipling
That was very insightful as early release has always been an issue for me to get the face squared up …
Hope this one helped!
I always fear for your fingers when you do the first drill with students lol
Love your teaching style and methods. Great vid!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
To me, it correlates to my minds idea of swinging a baseball bat, but I've struggled with whether its "proper" or not to feel like I'm swinging that way... I need to stick to it, because it works and feels more natural. It helps me to take practice swings parallel to the ground first like he's doing at the beginning here, then bend over and address the ball and go.
The Hitting the pad drill was giving me anxiety. Good bye thumb if he gets it wrong!
😂 full trust in the students
have watched several videos where you strike the ground and talk about driving the toe down but 😊 we can't see exactly what part of the club is hitting the ground.do you want the leading edge or the toe down with this drill ?
Toe down into the ground for the exercise 👍
Another great video. Quick question on the wrist action, are you instructing the student to rotate the wrists as well as hinge? I've seen other instructors on RUclips say rotating wrists is a no no. Cheers
The wrists have to rotate one way or another, but we're exploring the rotation of the golf club about the shaft also, yes (I assume that is what you're referring to) 👍
So you use the hands to square the face??
Was worrying for Marcus’ thumb throughout this - I’d have taken him right out let alone his thumb lol
best in the business hands down
Cheers, Tyler!
Is there a loop/ circular motion in the transition from back to forward swing?
I would say that is part of the individuality of the shot. I use the direction of the loop to control the direction of the swing
why do so many teachers recomment not to rotate. It is not rotatong the wrists, it is supinating the lead forearm.
Who knows, just got to find what works for you 👍
