Thankyou Ashley Campbell... for assisting your father on his final concert tour ! You Ashley were the WIND beneath your father's wings that helped him in so many ways. God Bless You Ashley for being they for your Father. That my dear is a daughter's love in action.
What she did for him on this tour when he was well into Alzheimer’s disease brings a tear to my eyes. He got lost many times but she brought him back gently and lovingly.
We saw him and his family at the Honeywell Center in Wabash, Indiana on this tour. You are exactly right. His family was right there, with Ashley doing her best. He was playing an older Strat though.
Brings tears to my eyes. Not only for losing one of the best musicians and singer ever, but seeing the beauty of his daughter giving him so much respect and dignity.
Glen Campbell had more talent at this point of his career, than most performers of today will ever have!!! In his prime, he was one of the greatest guitarist of all time.
I grew up watching hee haw every week........Roy Clark, Glen, Willie Nelson...so many but Glen and Roy....could just flat out play.....Roy could play any instrument.....oh to have my youth back
Yeah, man. He's an icon, whether anyone outside of music recognizes him as such. I should've seen him before he hung it up. I'm a bass player, and his ability on the guitar was drool-worthy. God, he was good.
Even factoring in all the accolades he's received over the years, I still consider Glen Campbell to be so very underrated. A prolific entertainer; an incomparable singer with perfect diction, timing, pitch, and with a natural smoothness to his voice. One of the best guitar players there ever has been. A writer, an actor, a comedian, a host. He acted with John Wayne in True Grit, as well as sang the theme song. His talent was tremendous, a gift from God. I will miss him so much--
85nikki96 I didn't know that he was a real guitarist until few years ago. Since then I been watching all of his solos and feel grateful that he is still alive. I am sad about his condition but I am forever grateful for bringing joy to my life.
+85nikki96 I agree with you. Even I think of him as an unbelievable singer when clearly he is also an unbelievable guitarist. Maybe because he was so humble and unassuming is why he didn't get more recognition than he did. I think he was just having fun and not necessarily consumed with having all the attention that the stars of today crave.
one of the greatest in my lifetime what a treasure that his daughter ashley bonds so well with him ,sadly miss him .words cannot what he meant to us fans xxx
That was the saddest part, seeing a man that was the picture of health just wither away, knowing his family was going through a horrible time. I faced it as a young child with my Grandmother, and thankfully, she didn't linger, but it still broke our hearts every day. Glenn isn't in pain now though, and we can keep his memory alive, right?
My most favourite country singer. What a voice, what a guitarist. What a gentleman.. thank you, Glen Campbell for the memories. Your music made my childhood great
So true! They are lucky to hv each other... he must’ve been a good dad to have adult kids who would be interested to go on the road and help him out this way...

In the special they did for him, a doctor looking after his Alzheimer's said that what will remain with Glen the longest will be how to play the guitar!
Loved Glen since he hit mainstream and then loved what I learned about his career before that. I'm so grateful for my opportunity to catch him finally on the farewell tour. Bittersweet but great and unforgettable.
RIP Glen you really did have True Grit your amazing music will live on forever, your talent was exceptional when playing that guitar, I for one will never forget you. 🕊🕊🕊

What a great showman and fighter! Love ya Glen!
My dad is at that point now. It is heartbreaking. He was one of the smartest men I've ever known; curious about the world, charming, handy, and a great sense of humor. He is just a shell of himself now. It's a terrible disease and awful to witness the suffering it causes.
It was gorgeous to see him surprised and impressed when his daughter started really showing off that pickin skill. He was like, "Huh?" and then "oh okay.. look at er go, let's have fun"!!

Before people had ever heard of Glen Campbell, he was one of the finest session guitar players ever. See the documentary about the Wrecking Crew. He played on so many recordings from Frank Sinatra to the Beach Boys and everything in between.
Glen Campbell sang simple, and yet he sang better. I mean who does that. Wonderful! As far as Ashley Campbell. I love her! I suppose she is too busy living her dream. I pray that she is happy.
