@MartinPlath It's not sloppy to miss a note in a run and salvage the run on the fly. There are plenty of precision snippets in the video to choose from, and some other funny things too. Not everyone can pick up what you're perceiving as sloppy. You don't become a member of the Wrecking Crew by being sloppy.

Me being a black man who loves and plays guitar, I listen to country music every once in a while. I will say this, growing up in the 70’s I would watch Hee Haw and be amazed by this gentleman, Jerry Reed, and another guy who’s name escapes me, NOT. ROY CLARK! So many others on that show. I was teased by my friends for watching that show but I didn’t give a damn. I knew what I was watching GREATNESS. This wasn’t Earth Wind and Fire, naw man. This was another level of playing guitar all together. Country players, what can you say. Some of the best guitarist in the world.

Wouldn’t say I was a fan. We were setting up and his crew told us that he was really sick with the flu and would only show up long enough to play his set. In his later years it seems he derived some of his greatest happiness while playing his guitars because they go what the words cannot go. It is rare to see someone with such dexterous command over his instruments have both that and happiness peacefully coexisting inside the same body. For me there is something miraculous and angelic to lay witness to such events taking place in one’s presence.
