There are 64 total Jyotir Lingams spread across India (12 important ones), 108 Shaktipeeths, 4 Dhams across India
There are different versions of Panch Bhoota Lingams across the country like Panch Kedar in the north,
      Panch Atmalingams across Karnataka.
Mathura , Ayodhya, Dwarka in the north,
Best universities existed Taxashila, Nalanda etc
Currently there are many great ones as well BSY Munger etc
Sita Maata lived in the north, Maithili Language still spoken existed before Ramayana.
The problem is people believe in the *research done by Asco Parpola,*
      whose research (Heras and Knorozo)
just bases on a Fish sign just to
divide us based on regions and regionalism.
The research is publicly available any fool can say how shoddy it is,
there is absolutely no work done in it,
it looks like an interns research thesis which just shows a fish symbol.
But we can confirm from Bhrami script and Tamil Bhrami ,
Harrappa and Mohenjodaro seals clearly use Bhrami and
that Tamil Bhrami is derived or parallel version of Bhrami and both are similar as well.
Ignoring the works of great Indologists KN Rao, Dr Mahalingam etc
*some Tamilian Jinnahs* have done a great job, dividing the nation further.
Maru , Devapi the eternal sages still live in the North who will rule the Satya Yuga
We all have a lot of culture and heritage across India.
Regionalism and claiming any differences and superiority is a loss to Bharatvarsha.

Living in a city and not travelling across the length and breadth of the country ,
you have no clue about India, there are humongous ancient temples in remotest parts of India,
Which you would never have any idea about,
your attitude towards the great land will itself despise you of knowing them.
Just like a guru becomes available to a person who is ready for him,
temples , books etc come to people who are accepting them with inviting arms.

When you blindly believe it and try to take your own meanings of the holy scriptures, that's where you start bringing down the purpose for which it was created by our forefathers. For soape we use bathing powder made from mixture of rice, pulses, orenge peel's,Nannari root, and Neem leaves. Indian civilazation also teaches to go beyond any ritual and tradition. It is a very mature civilazation . We not have many gods and goddesses, We have many ways to connect with the divine. It is not believe system 🙏. Whole Indian culture is centered in realization. In our culture its been said "truth is not something outside to be discovered ,it is something inside to be realized ". Man is to become divine. Only individual can realize his or her own real nature, therefore eastern cultures doesn't promote religious conversion . The Vastness is unimaginable. Hinduism doesn't teach about Hinduism, it makes you realize the nature of your existence and existence as whole.

@@zulfi1984 brother there are two answers to this question
1st Answer is "any Answer to this question will be wrong "
2nd Answer "Life is purpose by itself" and when i say life, i am not talking about the years you live from your birth till Death, that is not life, it is process of dying, from the day you born, your dying process started. Life is not bounded with birth and death, Your body and mind is vehicle for life, they are not life. Journey itself is the destination, its like love, can you tell me what is the purpose of love. So likewise Life is the goal by itself and it complete by itself , Whole existence is life. But if want purpose in reference to external Doings it may vary individuals to individuals, But if want purpose in reference to interal experience, is to go beyond your psychological and physical process to the real nature of your existence, and try to seek divine within yourself.
      Western definition -God created creation
Indian definition -Creation is made in such a way that creator and its creation cannot be separated. Whole creation is creator. You have a wrong idea you are a body, no the ultimate life, and life in you is the life everywhere. So to look everything with an unprejudice eye and go beyond delusionany state and recognize every life as divine 🙏🙏

In India,we serve the food on the banana leaf. And after the meals,we feed those leftovers to the cows or any other animals.that's how we recycle each and everything. And recently, those leaves were introduced in Germany calling it the new substitute to plastic.. Indians were already having milk with turmeric in it before going to bed at night, and that kept diseases at bay. And now America has introduced "Turmeric Latte". I guess it's the same story with everyone outside India. First they laugh at us,then they realise the meaning and importance of it..and they reintroduce the same with a different name .

It's a shame our traditions are shunned as superstitious. Each and every day to day ritual does have a scientific basis behind it. It is lost thru the ages but that doesn't mean it is not there. It has become fashionable to many to dissociate oneself from these as is it ridiculed by the modern world as stupid and backward. Fear of God , as mentioned in the video, was widely used to continue practicing these.
Covid has shed light on some of these practices as the best method for prevention and solution, like not shaking hands, leaving footwear outside, washing hands and feet on entering a home, etc. There are also numerous practices that help keep the body from contracting infections and so on.
Feel sad to see people refusing to accept the intelligence and foresight of our forefathers, with what little they had at their disposal, to create a truly holistic society.

Yo Korbin, I don't know abt the other countries but ancient indians used to use tiny branches of Neem tree to brush their teeth and chew on it as well without swallowing it, which even if they did it was still healthy. Many people still do coz it has anti bacterial properties and kept their teeth clean. My own family used to drink the boiled neem leaves water to detoxify our body of impurities and toxic stuff in the blood.

And it helps to be a skeptic because most realities are so distorted in today's world that it's easy to get diverted / brainwashed into useless stuff. The true quest for spirituality needs to begin by asking why things are the way they are..

There are so many examples in our tradition like,
    1. At the evening time we blow conch, bells and offer prayer to god, but actually the loud sound produced by those instruments scare off any dangerous animal or insects around house.
    2. We light candles or lamps (diya), this is actually done to sterilize the air around it, I discovered it through my microbiology lab, a sphere of few cm radius around the Bunsen burner is considered sterile so it is safe to perform culture medias without any contamination. Yes, that much science is there!!
    3. Another one, this one is interesting. Often grandmothers or older people tell us not to stare back when going out of home for any important work, simply because you might trip over the door frame and injure yourself or mess up your expensive dress.
    This is so amazing!!

We still feed to birds , firstly birds easily reach everywhere food is as they r looking for it , so basically a crow will eat everything n easily come , one doesn't have to go out n look ... N now it's a tradition , though this was mostly of South indian culture but yes most traditions r now just followed blindly without knowing the reason . N I agree that we just do it coz I have faith in ages n ages of ppl living on this earth n have found out or researched the right way of living through experience , n that's why also west made us look like land of serpent charmers coz they just regarded themselves as superiors ( British raj ) n others as illiterate , just coz we had a different language than them .... It's sad that how we ourselves r letting our traditions go ... At times j feel my mother is the last generation in my family who knows all these things n how to do pooja when to do what time to do which prayer to sing which day to do n what to do on which day or in a temple or durring special occassions like wedding ... I don't knpw how will we retain this knowledge n rather loose it to find again several ages later n will start again from the age when the man was just an animal n didn't know much . N for the west n their turmeric latte ... It's just haldi ( turmeric) doodh ( milk ) which we have been drinking since childhood days for good health as turmeric is good for inflammation ... So yup we better learn from our traditions rather then just discarding them ...

the purpose of temples, mosques, synagogues and churches or any other places of communal worship for me is simple - so all humans, from all steps and levels of social hierarchy can assemble together. So the wealthy and powerful can learn humbleness and the less privileged get to see there is a place, where they're all equal. That they don't forget that despite all their disadvantages, they're no less that the biggest of us. We're all just humans. "good vibes" are the byproduct, not the cause.
Having a rigid social hierarchy is specifically why all Indian (not just Hindu, I reference them because that's what I grew up in) cultural events are so communal, so we're never ignorant of how other people live, from where they derive joy or the struggles they face - which is why I don't agree with installing little temples with little idols at home, or celebrating holi or diwali behind closed doors - that beats the purpose for the whole ritual. You're trapping yourself in your little bubble, isolating yourself from everyone else - that runs against the whole point of their existence. Make time, go to the temple/mosque/church and feel what the creators of these rituals wanted you to feel. There is nothing worse for an Indian than isolation. We weren't raised to be solitary, stoic or bitter people - that's a change that's poisoning our joy of life as a people. We're in our hearts - the more the merrier kind of people. Sharing our food, our home - Inviting people in, brings us joy.

I'm From Kerala And I truly believe in science . And I'm a skeptical person when it comes to rituals and the Idea of God. I believe in the universe and I never believe that God is in temple or in mosque .. But in Kerala there are many temples which worship 'Snakes' or they call it 'Naga' there is one near my home also my mom used to give oil for the diyas and agarbathis to the temple as an offering once in a month I didn't know about that. One day I saw a dream about that Temple and snakes are following (actually there is only deitys no real snakes) that was Weird I told this to my mom and she told me oh this month forget to give the usual offerings I was confused because I never knew this. Then she told me about it.. And this same thing happened to me till now if she forget to give offering now it's common I ask her mom you forget this month right and she immediately go and give😂..If she give without telling me also I don't have that dream... I don't know why this happens..
Another one is happened with my brother he is younger than me not at all a believer of rituals and blind beliefs. One day he had a Dream. In the morning he talked to us,it was about a Hanuman temple normally it's very rare in Kerala to have Hanuman temples he told us he saw a statue of Hanuman and people offering Betel leaves garland to the deity he said he was there in the temple in dream, and we were like there is no Hanuman temple near us. we all forgot about it afterwards. One day while we were traveling to another city on the way from home we saw a board in the roadside saying the name of Hanuman temple and we told him about it he went there and he came back shocked he called us too to the temple and there the pandit offering Betel leaves garland to the deity his eyes was half filled with tears I was also shocked he was saying even the statue is exactly the same and it's very uncommon to offer betel leaves garland in Kerala temples it shocked me because my brother is an atheist kind of a person..Now he visit that temple once in a while.
This next one really shocked me because I witnessed this one. A small muslim boy was drowned and dead in my place 5 years ago in a pond while he was swimming with his friends,That was a sad incident. But recently around 2-3 years ago this thing happened another boy who was not from this place was going in a motorcycle on the road near that pond while passing that place he felt like his head was spinning he stopped there and fell down in the road people gathered and gave him water and all. All of a sudden he started talking a different language like Arabic. this I saw he is a Hindu boy,, someone told it's Arabic and called one ustad (one who teach Arabic in mosques) he came and asked many things and that boy gave answers to it and when the ustad asked his name he told it's 'Riyas' which was the name of that kid who died everyone was shocked after that he said many things like one friend pushed him to the pond thats how he died and all it was like a surreal experience for me after few minutes the boy became unconscious again they take him to hospital and he became normal people talked to him he said he don't remember anything after he fell down and his family said in his entire life he never been to any Arabic classes and they belong to a Hindu family... All were shocked this one I don't know still how can this be possible.
I don't know man this is just a few there are many incidents like this.
I believe there are many things beyond our senses and beyond the limited dimensions that we know about may be another realm kind of a thing Like in The Avengers who knows 😂
And These kind of supernatural experiences are happening to many people around the world. Not just in India

One thing I learned from anthropology is that cultures tend to have practices because they are in some way needed. It's similar to natural selection. The practices that are useless, don't tend to persist. There are of course caveats. Since the Age of Reason, the West began "throwing out the baby with the bath water." This isn't to say that there haven't been great innovations and changes, but we also got rid of things unnecessarily because we didn't know all the variables for those cultural habits.
In science, always remember, there will always be (currently) unknown variables and variables we might never discover.

@aishwarya eashwar not everything can't be logically explained, our brain is limited to 3dimension. What we knew the world only through our 5 senses.
To attain real knowledge human have to push through the limitations of our body.
The world a sea creature, or a dog observe is different from that of humans, but they are not wrong. A being with better senses can sense more about the world than us, as far as our current state our body is limited, or else we have to evolve further. That why ancient people train to withdraw their senses to dive deepinto meditation to attain the real knowledge. All these religions are the byproduct of such exploration, because real truth can only be experienced but cannot be logically pass on.

You are wrong about quoting science. Quote it as modern science. Science is used by all ancient civilizations and is a broad term.

@aishwarya eashwar you missed my point. I said every creature experience this world differently because of their different body and are different but that doesn't mean each of their experience is wrong. Some sea creatures can see more colours than us so everything is relative, so does the truth. What we call logical today is in relation to human experience and understanding and it is limited and it keeps on changing, so even the logic is relative. A few hundreds years ago according to human logic sun revolves around earth and many people lived based on that logic, now its earth around sun, currently neither of these logic make sense as our universe is vast so everything in constant motion, so for the sake of our current method of understanding of time we keep it that way.
