    As a national physiotherapy provider, here at Physio Med, as part of our occupational physiotherapy education programme, have put together a series of exercises to provide you with some helpful and professional knowledge.
    It is estimated that around three quarters of the population has suffered neck pains at some point in their lives.
    The exercises have been designed by our team of senior Chartered Physiotherapists to assist in preventing the onset of tension and stiffness or to combat any pain if it occurs.

    When I do the first stretch for Neck and Upper Back Stretching and it really hurts just to move my neck back just a little bit. Do you recommend another stretch or should I just keep doing this stretch more often daily until the pain lessens?

    Why are you only recommending to hold these stretches for 2-3 seconds when countless research studies state that for lasting changes stretches should be held longer, typically around 30 seconds for most people? 2-3 seconds is more appropriate for nerve mobility/glides, not stretching muscle and tendon tissue. Only 2-3 seconds and the tissue returns to its original length, which was too tight to begin with.
