I've ordered the S24 Ultra. It's the RESALE value that's as important to me as the initial outlay. That and the free galaxy watch 6, double the disk space, and an early bird price that also helps bring the cost down when I resell the watch !

OnePlus doesn't need a super fast shutter because like the Open (which I have) has a "hold shutter down for" burst or video mode. It seems other phone manufacturers have removed that feature.

I hate to break it to you. I have 100w Anker, it doesn't support the supervooc charging. It will peak at 18w on third party charger. You HAVE TO use a OnePlus charger in order to use supervooc charging experience.

    • @blaze26700

Sorry to say but you can only use the Supervooc charger to charge your phone at 100W.
Gan Charger might do the job at 40-45W.
So you should take care of your 100W charger properly.

@@prasadmankar7650 Same argument can be used with the software support. People want more of it, praising phones that offer 7+ years of support, which is good for second hand market, but not many people will buy such phone in those 7 years. At that point in those 7 years, they can buy a 2yo phone that's the same price but 5x better. Look at the jumps we're making now every 2 years. In 7 years, phones like the Pixel 8 will be history, and that bad boy has problems now, I don't want to see how it performs in 7 years. 5 years is plenty enough. Needless to say, whoever pays twice as much for a 15 Pro Max or the S24 Ultra instead of something like the Oneplus 12, really doesn't know what to spend their money on.

These two were my top contenders for switching from my current 14 PM. I went with the S24U, because of the anti reflective and flat display, OneUI is more featured pack, and lastly accessory/case support. I tried the OnePlus Open when it was released while very smooth and great battery, I really couldn't find any 3rd party accessories. Perfect examples; no D-brand skin/case support for newer OP devices, no Pitaka case, ArcPulse case is only for Apple/Samsung, no Casetify cases, and no good competing OnePlus watch.

I've missed OnePlus. Coming back to the 12 since I left them at 8 pro. I've been using a pixel 7 pro for the last year and I can't stand many things about it. In particular the slow as hell charging.

I'm trading in my pixel 7 pro as well for this. Tired of the connection issues with calls not getting through or weak signal for data. Must be something up with the samsung exynos antenna on the G2, Qualcomm antennas on their snapdragons are the best and most reliable

    • @waxsta
      @waxsta 10 месяцев назад

@@Blakendp83 I felt that moving from a OnePlus 8 pro was a bit of a downgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro, however at the time Oxygen OS had become very buggy and the whole experience of my OnePlus 8 Pro had tanked. The Pixel 7 Pro has many flaws. The battery life and charging speed are a killer for me. I seldom leave my phone in place for too long, so fast charging is a must. Also you can tell the processor isn't very powerful when doing any form of photo manipulation. It takes time to edit images. File browsing is also very slow. Vanilla Android is very much a hit and miss. I'm not a huge camera person, although the video and photo quality is decent on the Pixel I believe it's more software manipulation than anything else. I suspect if OnePlus wanted they could just use the same techniques as Google and get similar results. I've preordered the OnePlus 12 already, so I'm hoping it will be a significant performance upgrade over my 7 pro. I couldn't fathom upgrading to the Pixel 8 Pro. The miniscule updates are too tiny for it to be a viable phone upgrade. I hope OnePlus keep their software optimised and bug free.

Have to remember it starts at double the storage of the pixel 8 pro for 50 pounds cheaper (with a charger in the box!). Thats crazy good value. Shame we missed out on the pixel stacked sensor with this but the results still seem great! You get to customization that's pretty similar, but even that's a stretch. Not to mention a better update schedule, with more refined polished updates for improvement. It also has better battery life despite the OP having dual batteries. I've gotten 21 hours of solid battery life out of my s24+ and still had almost 20% left over. Mind you, it had my screen on time clocked at 9 hours and some change.

Yeah the shutter speed and poor quality camera is why i left OnePlus after the 7Pro... all the pictures of our toddler were blurry 😢. Too bad because it was SUCH a good phone otherwise. Glad to see it's getting better in some aspects.
Looking forward to my S24 Ultra since Verizon gave me $1,000 credit to upgrade from my Pixel 7Pro though 😍

I loved my OP nord and 9R. The moment they changed Oxygen OS to a gimmicky Color OS, ditched them for good. Simply hated it. Realme UI followed the same trend. Ditched that one too. Now back to Samsung for the past few years. Kinda worth it I guess, not much option out there OS wise. All these phones including realme have excellent durability standards though.

Hello from Oregon. Just found your channel.
I ordered the 12 on launch day. After trading in my OP 9, I paid 499.09 USD and they threw in the wireless charger.
I was about to order the S24 Plus, but that was 899.00. Sorry Samsung.

Love the price. I have the Oneplus open and love it. Between the open and the new 12 with that fantastic price.....Oneplus is definitely back! Love it. Nothing phone is straight garbage compared to one plus now. Between the 2 devices they provide they don't need carl. Just wish they would stop with the curves screen garbage. Flat screen all the way. You are incorrect. Most people prefer flat screen not curved. Curved make it horrible for tempered glass screen protector . what's up with the throttling? there one plus 12 has the largest vapor chamber on any phone ever.... I feel like it's the app that is not optimized for the one plus. Not the phone.

Oneplus 12 which got 12+256gb for 849 pounds, is cheaper than the S24+, much cheaper than the s24 ultra, yet it's still 370 pounds more expensive than its launching price in China.....And what makes things crazier, is that it starts from 969 euros here in Italy......and I got an offer of 1200 euros for the S24 Ultra with 12+512 GB after the discount, so...I chose the S24 Ultra

First of all, I really enjoy your reviews and I don't know why I haven't been subscribed until now.
I pre-ordered an S24 Ultra, but I did give this one some serious thought before ultimately passing on it. They're not really in the same category as they're $500 apart, but I decided to make the stretch to the S24U for the flat display, even bezels, better telephoto camera, superior software support, and more premium build.
This is gonna sound really silly, but my biggest gripe with this phone is how it looks from the front. Why are the chin and forehead so thick on a flagship phone in 2024? Seriously, if you ignore the location and/or existence of the hole-punch camera, OnePlus phones have looked almost identical from the front since the OnePlus 7 Pro. Heck, put this side-by-side with a OnePlus 8, 9, or 10 Pro and I bet most casual observers wouldn't be able to tell which is the new one just by looking at the screen. Sure, you could say the same thing about the Galaxy S series or iPhone, but at least the bezels on those have become progressively thinner with each new generation. I think my old OnePlus 9 Pro might actually have a smaller chin than this OP12.
That said, you do get a lot of phone for the money compared to the S24/S24+, but I guess the trade-off is a curved display with larger-than-average bezels and slightly less premium materials (Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Victus 2 for the back panel, for example).
And maybe I need new glasses, but I swear the pictures from the OnePlus 11 main camera look better, especially those with Tom as the subject The OnePlus 12 almost looks as if it's applying a beauty filter to the main camera shots, as his face looks smoothed-out with less fine details present. Maybe I'm imagining it. The telephoto camera is definitely a nice improvement over the 11, though, and at 5X appeared to be giving the S24U a run for its money in a couple of those pics.
On a side note, I really wish BBK would bring more of their phones to North America, especially those super-flagship camera phones like the Find X7 Ultra. Just re-badge it as a OnePlus 12 Ultra, price it a few hundred bucks less than the S24 Ultra, and call it a day. I would've bought that over the S24U without hesitation. And yes, I know I could import a Find X7 Ultra to the US for less than an S24U, but I'm not comfortable doing that. I can at least somewhat trust that OnePlus isn't gonna send all of my personal information to Xi Jinping 😅. Or so I hope LOL

I don't understand why reviewers continue to use click-baity titles as I think the viewers leave watching this video feeling underwhelmed.
It's definitely not an S24U killer.
Anyway 1+ already know this and had priced it accordingly.
One plus is a good phone for the money you pay but lacks key features to compete with the S24U.
I agree with other user comments, this phone is more in line with S24+.

The S24 Ultra is so much prettier. The OnePlus curved display and left-sided camera make it the ugliest phone of 2024 (& 2023).

It's all about value for your dollar. If $$ isn't an issue to ahead and get the S24 Ultra. I'll take this over my Pixel 8 Pro. The AI features are pretty cool but I don't find myself using them often and the tensor processor, IMO, is significantly slower than snapdragon for every day use.
