Addendum: I had a viewer make a great point regarding my “multiple” tip. I had suggested starting the foundation chain with a number that is both a multiple of 2 and 3. And she commented , “well why not just say multiple of 6?”
You know what, she’s right! Much simpler 👍🏻
Here is a row by row stitch tutorial where I've used some very common stitches that work well for a sampler blanket. Even if you don't want to follow along to this pattern exactly, I'm sure you can easily include these in your own design. xx
Thank you so much for making this video for us! It is such a nice surprise to have a wonderful creator be so responsive to requests. So looking forward to using this sampler in next blanket. So beautiful and fun 👏🙂👏
I’m so happy you found it useful, thank you ! 😀🧶💕
Not many videos about mixing stitches and with yours I'm understanding more how important it is to do a initial calculation to make sure you start the row with a full stitch and finish the row with a full stitch, otherwise you end up with more or less stitches where to stitch into. You can fix it with an increase or decrease as you were saying, so is not too bad. I'm in the middle of making a blanket with different stitches and the count happens every row for me! These type of videos are so rare and so informative. Thank you so much for taking the time to make them!
So happy you are finding the videos useful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🧶💕
Loving doing this right along with you and am learning so many different stitches. Ty
That’s wonderful, thank you 😀💕
You have de-mystified the sampler after 50 years of crocheting!!! Would you consider a Sampler Crochet A Long using even more beautiful patterns? You are a Treasure...
Thank you so much , Lovey. ❤️ Yes , it’s something I’d really like to do at some point but I’m not sure how to go about doing a crochet-along since I really just focus on having a RUclips channel (not a website or email list etc)
So happy you liked the video 😀🧶💕
So good to hear...could you just continue on like you are doing without a website? It works so beautifully...it is rare to have A Teacher that doesn't get bog down in silly things but stays on point!!! What a gift to learn the stitches and have a finished piece...So Perfect!!!
PS. Just announce it...and you will have followers!!!
@@loveyrogers3181 You're so kind. I'll have to see if I can figure something out for the New Year. I think it would be a lot of fun. :D
I'm going to follow this pattern and make it! I don't understand the chain enough that can be divided by 2 or 3. Will you help me? I plan to chain 215 for a bed size blanket. Should I choose another chain count?❤@@PlayHookywithMe
I was so excited when i made the bobble stitch. It looks so great! I am like a kid in an ice cream shop. 🌍☮️🌲
Awesome sauce! 😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💕
Omg I was waiting for this and didn't even get the notification!! I saw a few comments asking for a tutorial and was super excited that you replied "yes"! This is so beautiful and UNIQUE. JUST LIKE YOU♡♡♡♡♡
Thank you so much for doing this for us🙂

What a wonderful video. I subscribed ❤, normally I don't understand English, but the way you show what you do and explain it is just so clear. I'm at r15 now. I'll make a blanket from this. It's amazing. And because of all the different stitches it's not boring at all❤❤❤ thank you. Keep up the good work
Oh , that’s wonderful 😀I’m so glad 👏🏻
Thank you for your support ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for the tutorial it has been hard to figure out how to mix stitches together but this is a great help and beautiful 🌺
I’m so glad you found it helpful 😀🧶💕
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
For sure 😀🧶💕
I do not up and learn new things about crocheting that I haven’t learned as a young girl in Europe however, it’s 73. Some of these stitches are coming back much more clear and it is wonderful that you can teach in such a beautiful way how to connect and how to take away in and sometimes the mind is playing tricks on you and you forget but again thank you so much for your kindness, and for being so respectful and knowledgeable and sharing that.🎉❤
Thank you so much, your words mean the world to me ❤️❤️
Gracias muy bello
Thank You!!😍😍😍
Thank you. I'm going to make this in cotton crochet thread and use in my junk journal. It will be great. Thx.

Lovely work. It makes me want to use my crochet hooks more. I love your color combination and the HL ILTCY is one of my favorite yarns
Oh good, I’m glad it’s inspiring you 🙌🏻💕🧶
This looks so great! 🌍☮️🌲
Thank you ! 😀🧶😘
You are very welcome. 🌍☮️🌲
I have been working on making a sampler that I could put into a frame. I really like your color choices. I have found it takes some practice. If I don't like it I just start over. 🌍☮️🌲
That’s a lovely idea to make one for a frame 🤩💕
AMAZING!! I just started crocheting last week and have been looking for a sampler to learn new stitches and to give my daughter a visual of some options for a simple blanket I want to make for her. Your video is perfect!
Just the right pace to follow (and I can obvsly rewind, pause, or slow down the play speed when I need to), super clear instructions, just the right camera angle to see exactly what I need to do (definitely NOT so for many other videos I've found!) and of course a beautiful design. Your companion video has also been sooo helpful!
And as an added bonus, your nail polish is always so pretty! 😄
Thank you for making this tutorial!!
Thank you so much, Monica 😀💕 Your message means the world to me. Thank you for taking the time 💕🧶💕
Merciiii 🙏🏼♥️🇫🇷🇪🇸
😀👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻💕💕💕😘
Bravo superbe 👏👏👏🦋
Thank you 💕💕💕
Wow. I found I was holding my breath watching this😂 I hope I can do this one day! ❤ I think I'll do a scarf before I try a queen size throw😅
Scarf if an excellent idea! Instant gratification 👏🏻💕
It took me three tries but I have my bobbles. I am doing my F grand in the vera gated, blue, white and yellow. My God it’s starting to look really beautiful.
Oh good, I’m so glad 😀
I a blanket sampler. I t love this version it's smller.
Can I do this in a large blanket? I love it!!
Absolutely, it will look great!! 😀💕🧶
Hi Precious Loki!!!
😆🖤 🐈⬛ 👋🏻❤️
I’m wanting to make a six colour throw for next winter. This looks a brilliant pattern thank you. Are there any written instructions please.
Great! No written pattern , sorry 💕
This is so wonderful, if I wanted to make this a bigger blanket would I just go back to row one and continue the sequence over and over again ? And what about a boarder ?
Yes , exactly , just keep repeating the sequence. For the border, I’d recommend adding sc’s all around the edge (use 3 or 5 in the corners to help get around it) then you can either leave it like that or build a bigger border on top of it . 💕
@@PlayHookywithMe thank you so much !
@@PlayHookywithMe OK so I have another question in my stash I have I love this cotton Lily sugar and cream 24/7 cotton Can I mix them all together in the same blanket? Would you recommend that or should I stick to one brand of cotton I personally like I love this cotton, but I have all others in my stash also .
@@dawnamendola8690 you should be good to go since they are both cotton . You just don’t really want to mix if they are different types of yarn e.g cotton/wool/acrylic because they behave differently when washed.
👍🏻💕 oh, also make sure they are the same yarn weight or that you can use the same hook size.
@@PlayHookywithMe fantastic and thank you so much for answering quickly❤️
I love love this blanket and I want to do it but “how is that multiple 2 & 3 pls somebody, thank you in advanced 🙏🏼
Your multiple number for the starting chain can be divided by 2 and 3. For example, a starting chain of 72 would work. 72/2 = 36. 72/3= 24
But really , you can use about any
stitch you want and make it work. You’ll just have to “fudge” it a little. No one will notice if you’ve added an extra stitch here and there 👍🏻💕
I have a few questions about c2c graphgans
I have some videos regarding graphgans. Have you seen those and still have questions?
I am confused about the number of starting chains (2 and 3)? Then add an extra 3?
Find patterns that are are divisible by 2 and 3 … so in simpler terms you could say anything that can be worked using a multiple of 6 (since they are both divisible by 2 and 3)
I would not worry about 2 or 3 at the end unless the first stitch you choose requires that to form the first stitch.
Here is the companion video where I share how to make the stitches from this video:
ruclips.net/video/5EjtcxfBJ90/видео.htmlsi=nmMQAwS731Beg6Pr
Also don’t stress too much on that number (2-3). Choose the stitches you like and fudge things a little to make it work … no one but you will notice 👍🏻
Thank you very much.
YOU SEEM LIKE A GREAT TEACHER, HAVE ANY BEGINNER VIDEOS ?
I try to create most of my videos to be understandable for beginners but I don’t think I have anything that is stated as directly for absolute beginners 😕
@@PlayHookywithMe OK THANKYOU, I UNDERSTOOD IT, BUT IT WAS SO FAST AND I AM OLD AND NOT AS QUICK AS YOU. HOWEVER, I UNDERSTAND BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE ARE MUCH QUICKER THAN I AM AT THIS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESPONSE. XOXO, JENI
I’m a little confused about a multiple of 3+2, do you mean a multiple of 3 and 2 at the end?
I mean that the number you choose is divisible by both the number 3 and the number 2.
For example 12, 24 and so on. Or in simpler terms - a number that is a multiple of 6.
But quite frankly, the more of this I’ve done , I’ve learned that I can usually make any multiple work but it will mean that I have to alter the stitch a little. Add some stitches or omit some stitches, for example.
So use the multiple tip as a guide but I’d also recommend that you still try to adapt a stitch in your sampler if you absolutely love it and make it work . 🙂
Hope that helps
@@PlayHookywithMe thank you that makes perfect
I have 2 black boys 😻
Black beauties 🐈⬛ 😍😍😍
It would really be nice if you can show the whole blanket on here.
It’s not a completed blanket. It was a requested video to share how to do the stitches that I used in my , “how to design a sampler blanket “ video.
How many chains
Decide how wide you want to make your project then chain up to it using a number that can be divided by 2 and 3.
Or more simply - a multiple of 6.
(For example 60 )
Then add 3 more (63)
Can I get the pattern? Thk
This is the pattern. 👍🏻It’s not a written pattern- just a requested video on how to make the stitches that I used for the previous video on how to make sampler blankets in general. If you missed that video, you can find the link in the description box as well as at the end of the video. 💕
@@PlayHookywithMe thanks a lot. It's a very beautiful work
Can I make this blanket with 158 chains , is that a number multiple by 2 & 3?
It looks like it’s not divisible by 3 so I would say no. Look for a number that is a multiple of 6 and you’ll be good to go. For example 150 would work .
I have to do it! I must! I want! It is so incredible! I wil need to watch it several times before adventuring and making it though. I am a very slow learner. Thank you for this tutorial. Out of curiosity how did you hide all the strands at the end?
I hope you do! 😀 I just weaved them in after each few rows .
Here is a video where I share my techniques:
ruclips.net/video/VElsx623OcM/видео.html
But I’d also recommend you try making tassels If the ends overwhelm you. You can see that tip at the end of this video:
ruclips.net/video/PZPc2qxdN9Q/видео.html
@@PlayHookywithMe I have watched the linked video. Very helpful. Thank you for this. It solves my question.
Thank you
