I'm so happy I found you! You are, by far, the best crochet teacher I've come across. I love how you go over each step and not only explain the how, you explain the why. Nevermind that you have the some of the most beautiful crocheted blankets I've ever seen, but you also show how to make them step by step! Seriously, you're an amazing teacher and this newer crochet'r is delighted too have found you. Thank you for all the free patterns and tutorials. I can't wait to get started on this gorgeous blanket. Thank you!!!❤
I love that you have a story to tell about your squares. You think of a piece of information and then look for the square to show it. I'm fairly new to crocheting and I've heard of Ravelry, but I never signed up for it. Thanks for the information you gave on that site. It's quite a treasure chest.
i love how you made your own rules.... i'm working on my first granny square blanket and decided to start making squares however i chose and i think it's turning out beautiful.
Thank you super helpful, joined raverly ages ago but repy intimidating so never used it. Thank you for your tutorial and also enjoying your podcast...glad I stumbled across you x😊
I just came across this gorgeous blanket and am now determined to make one!! I'd love it if you would make a tutorial on the border you did. It's gorgeous and fits so beautifully wirh the blanket. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Thank you so much. This tutorial was very helpful. I didn't know about Ravelry and all the wonderful patterns and projects that are available there. What a great community. I saw your blanket on Pinterest and fell in love with it. Then I saw the short video on YT and now I'm watching the whole video and how you created this gorgeous blanket. You did an amazing job, it truly is very beautiful. The good thing about this project is that each piece is small and easy to handle. Thank you once again for this tutorial.
Thankyou for your kind comment. I’m so happy you found ravelry - it’s really an amazing resource. I do have another video showing more ravelry features if you’re interested: ruclips.net/video/IGggOztc1gU/видео.htmlsi=gTyoLDRNtb0rncbZ And I absolutely agree with the project being easy to handle! I’m making a humongous giant granny blanket currently and I miss my little squares! I’m glad you found this helpful and best of luck on your blanket journey ❤️
@@meemamakes thank you for providing the link to your other video. I’ll definitely check it out. I forgot to mention earlier but thanks for using US crochet terms. Your blanket is just stunning!! Thank you so much for showing how to move around ravelry & I will certainly give it a go. I would love anything more that you can give on showing how you actually crochet your squares, a tutorial perhaps as I’m a visual learner & can’t read patterns. I would love any tutorial that you do.. i have such a hard time following written patterns.. but feel in love with this blanket, it's absolutely stunning!

I will be making some more tutorials in future, including some for complete blankets 🥰 and Thankyou for saying so about my blanket, it’s my favourite blanket I ever made 🧶❤️

Hi! Just found you through insta 😊 Thank you for your generous, simple and inspiring tutorial for this beautiful blanket! I am a frequent user of Ravelry but have funnily enough never thought of looking for crochet blocks/squares but instead used books, magazines and taking stalking fotos in the escalator stairs wherever 😂 I was thinking the border you made and that it curls. Maybe one more chain stitch between the dc-groups would ease the tension and help the border lay flat. I will however definitely use your ideas of how to make the squares the same size and put my leftovers to use. Have a lovely weekend! 💕🧶
Thankyou so much for your comment. I’m so happy you liked this tutorial! That’s actually a really good idea regarding the border and I don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me!! I’ll have a play today and see if it lays flatter because then I can do a tutorial! The idea of someone photographing crochet on escalators made me laugh! If you post your blanket I’d love to see it 😁
Thank you for the tutorial on Ravelry. I am new to crocheting and have been very confused on how to use the site until now. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
It is pretty confusing when you start using it. I have made a longer tutorial going over some other features of the website that might be helpful: ruclips.net/video/IGggOztc1gU/видео.htmlsi=ZavfnzgrsioYdqcn
Thank you so much for this video, super helpful! P.S. I saw a video on blocking acrylic yarn, I haven't tried it myself but they said to use steam (like iron it and then pin it flat like you normally would), maybe you could try ironing the edges and then pinning them flat? xx
Thank you so much for showing 'how to find patterns and search by Ravelry' ❤ this is very helpful for me... And exacly what i search for...😊 can you please add the sizes of the squares and the finish blanket at the info Box? And is it possible to use Cotton or whool? (Beacause of the weight)
Yes absolutely I’ll add that info. I’ll add it here too so you can see it easier. Each square is 20cm before the join round and the blanket is 178cm across including border. Yes you can use most yarns for blankets, if you’re worried about the heaviness of it try using a thinner yarn like a sport or 4ply. It might take longer but the weight will definitely be less. I’m so happy this video was helpful for you - good luck on your blanket journey. I miss this project and it’s by far my favourite thing I ever made so enjoy the journey 🥰
It was mainly a stash buster. I knew the sort of colour palette I wanted (inspired by vintage floral fabric) so I picked out colours I liked and then bought some pinks I was missing. I made squares and kept adding as I went until I’d finalised the palette. I actually ended up frogging 2 colours I chose originally as they felt too bright. I hope that makes sense. Sometimes I plan my colour palettes and sometimes they just happen like this one 🤣
Hi there, thanks so much for showing us this blanket, it's truly so lovely! My only wish is that when you were going through the two stacks of squares, lifting off one at a time, that you'd put into the shot of each one what it was called, as I've clicked on the links to all of the ones that you said you used to make this blanket but can't find the ones that I liked and was looking for unfortunately. If by any chance you are able to help I would appreciate it so much, either by editing this video to write in what each square name was called, or alternatively the main ones I want to know are at times stamps of - 9:39 - yellowy cream square with a purple one underneath, I'm hoping to find out what the yellowy cream one is please 9:51 - burnt orange square with sort of a four leaf clover and then borders around it, which I saw a similar one to on the page you linked below that has the list of all the ones you said you used, but it was in a grey shade 10:08 - a cream more solid square, sort of a flower petal look with a hexagon around it 10:21 - brown more solid square again with borders getting bigger and bigger from the centre I would appreciate it so much if you could tell me what the names of these ones are, as I tried to find them myself but none of the links seemed to look like the ones you went through in this video. Thanks :)
Sorry for how quick it is, it’s just some footage I took for a short not specifically for this video. All of the squares you asked about are on the list and I linked them below. I find the squares can look very different when only worked in one colour like mine so can be a little confusing!
