I'm pretty sure I had those Fastbreaks when I was 9 years old. Toebox was mesh and the star logo was red on the sides and the strip at the top was red. I've thought about getting them again just for the nostalgia aspect. I have the 440 high in black with the white stitching. LOVE them. I recommend them to everyone. The 3M on the back tab sticks out so much against the all black. I wish that artwork on the insole of Jake's shoe was somewhere on the outside of the shoe. Great selections, sir. Great video. brings back some memories as I had a pair of white Fastbreaks back when I played Freshman Basketball back in '84. I got them because they were cheap, especially than the all leather shoes like Nike that were being released and thought they were crappy in comparison. I remember the huge heel cap and that they were super lightweight and comfortable. I swear they had a different sole pattern than these retros. Could I be wrong or thinking of another pair of Converse?
I’m kind of torn because the NB looks like it has more padding around the ankle and on the sides of the foot for those flick tricks but the insole on the CONS is equally as important. Wish I could have the insole of the CONS on the NB. On foot the NB looks better to me as well. At the end of the day that insole wins out tho. Skating in the CONS and hitting the after party in the NB!
I'm gonna admit I'm biased on this one because New Balance isn't owned by Nike so, New Balance did it best. Also, will it hurt for NBN to come up with more high and mid tops? That arch protection makes the difference between a weekend chilling with the homies, and a weekend recovering from a sprained ankle.
Really want to try those converse I was wondering if they are the same size as the chucks I’m a 9.5 in the high top ctas but I’ve heard Louie’s Lopez shoes you don’t have to size a full size down? None of my locals have the shoes so I could try them on sadly
I like the converse better the 440 is too narrow for me. I have the Fastbreak pro mid x carhartt wip only downside is the sock liner is leather which makes it hard to get on.
This shoe in particular is a customer favorite. They just don’t make a ton of mids or highs so there is a small crew of folks that are hungry for it each drop.
I think the Fastbreak Mids are an awesome Cons shoe. I bought the Carhartt WIP pair and the color didn’t look as good on my foot as I thought lol. They were pretty dang comfy and I feel like they would’ve skated well.

Well the 11 is snug on me. I typically wear an 11 chuck Taylor. So I feel like it’s true to size. Irving thinks it runs big but I def don’t think it does. Feet are weird

You might be thinking of the weapon? But this shoe has def been retooled for skateboarding so the sole may be different

I think they have the appropriate amount of highs. Most people are into lows so that can’t offer too many without them stacking up.
