I don't really have a huge shoe regret but I definitely have made the mistake of buying pairs just because they were on a crazy discount but ultimately I just found them to be somewhat decent and not something I truly loved at all. Better to have 1 amazing pair than 3 mediocre

‘You can appreciate a pair of sneakers without having to buy them’ - I’m finally realizing that, after amassing a shoe collection that I won’t live long enough to actually wear. I’m a sneaker head when it comes to skateboard brands (Vans, etnies, Globe). One annoying thing skateboard brands do is that they will make a model for only a year & then it’s gone forever. So when I find a model that I like, I will buy multiple pairs (think Vans Rowley XL2). I now look at all of these nice new shoes in their boxes & think, ‘What have I done?’ 🤷‍♂I’m currently in the process of selling the majority of my collection.

Aw sad about the am90. Your pair looks so clean and I think it actually fits your style. My footwear regret actually falls to buying several loafers and boots, just cos I thought they're stylish and makes me look more professional. My biggest shoe regret was the AirMax97. There was a point of time where they were all the hype and I really liked them VISUALLY. I even tried it on in the stores and liked them but once i got them and wore them regularly, i didn't like the way they looked on me. They made my feet look so rounded and small for some reason and i avoided wearing it at all, even made it into my work shoes. I went for about 1+ year without wearing them that the reflective part of the shoe started to crack. Definitely my biggest regret.

I hardly ever regret any shoe purchases as I'm always positive that I want them before getting them, but the Ultraboost 21 is one I definitely regret. Having owned multiple generations of Ultraboosts, I thought it would be a good idea to buy the latest one at the time, not realising how different they were compared to the previous ones at the time. Ended up feeling immensely heavy on the feet and very uncomfortable in a standing motion. These weren't really issues with the previous iterations, but this new one being so bulky, tall and substantially harder and compact in Boost material deterred me from daily use. Great for running, energy return, all that, but not really for anything else.

Sizing was my main issue, a lot of men's footwear starts at size 7, I am a size 5 in my Baker shoes and size 6 in pretty much everything else. For years I would buy size 7 and try to make it work as it was mostly the only choice I had if I wanted that shoe. When shoe size comes up in conversations with people, especially women, saying I have size 6 feet is somehow not an appealing male trait so this also pushed me to get the bigger size and I would deal with the hassle of them not being quite right. I now look to buy the same footwear in the women's version so I can get the size!

Some shoes I need as small as a womens 5.5 (mens 4), and some as big as a mens 6.5 though

I love the classic and clean look of them I think theyre some of the most timeless looking sneakers ever (plus I have an old picture of my Dad rocking a pair in the late 80s on a date with my mom) I really wanted to love them for those reasons. But ever since going down the barefoot/natural foot shape shoe rabbit hole I simply cant wear them now. The toe box is SOOO narrow. I call them my bunion makers lol. I have a beautiful pair of limited snakeskins that I tried to break in but theres just no way the toebox will ever be wide enough. I have to donate or throw them away which makes me sad but at the same time my feet have never been healthier. No pain or sore feet anymore ever since buying shoes that let my toes spread out.

My biggest regrets (and thinking about it now doesn’t seem like a huge loss) are a pair of white Adidas advantage, that are kind of a cheap version of the Stan smith. At the time Stan smith’s were very popular and I wanted them but I find them too expensive so I decided to buy the advantage online. They were extremely stiff and not really my size right out of the box and after a couple wears the “leather” was all creased because it was a really bad quality.
Anyway, not an expensive one, but that made me realize that if you really want a shoe you need to buy that one and not an alternative

Too many regrets here. Especially during a major hype beast period I was going through around 2018 -
    1) Sean Weatherspoon air maxes (paid $800) too much color for my liking 🌈
    2) white off white prestos (paid about $700 for those) weird shape, dirt magnets
    3) React element 87 (in the OG sail color way) I loved these at first but after a few wears they didn't look so great, plus I paid about $500 for them
So that's $2000 down the drain right there.
Other honorable mentions are New Balance 900 Series (I've realized they're just too chunky for my liking) and Adidas Pharrell NMD human races (too sock like)

my biggest shoe regret was when my sister bought me custom made converse. However I got to design them and since this was my first ever pair of converse I didn't know how the sizing was. At first I bought my custom shoes that were 10.5 cuz sometimes my shoe size isn't the same as other brands, but when I got it, it was way to huge on me, there was so much space. So my sister re-ordered them to a 9.5 and when I got those they were still a little big on me. I didn't return them because I felt bad so I just stayed with them. It's been a year since I've had them and I still wear them. I do kind of feel insecure about my feet sometimes but yeah. I might buy new pairs of converse and buy a size lower than my usual.

We've all been there. I've been collecting for over 30 years. What i've found is if you are honest with yourself to why you bought a sneaker, you'll never regret it. But it helps to know your reasons: Hype, Fashion, utility, investment, value and last and most important, the actual design of the shoe. For me, i'm rooted in liking sneakers for the design, so most of my shoes are not "hype", and a lot i don't wear. I find thats the best criteria to base a purchase. Hype, fashion, investment, value and utility all fade. But i have shoes i've had for 30 years that i still like looking at. Find your reasons, be honest with them and you'll never regret.

I got the Nike SB Blazer mids, and even though I didn't wear them a lot at first, a year and a half later they still feel comfortable even though they are a size and a half small I started wearing them more frequently and they are still awesome. However when I tried normal Blazers it was far less comfortable, so as much as the Blazers aren't the best, the SB version feels way more comfortable to wear, especially if you want Blazers but find them uncomfortable, the SB version is far better.

I don’t usually have a lot of regrets when it comes to sneaker purchases but one of my biggest ones was the Bad Bunny Forum in the blue colorway. I was lucky enough to get a few pairs to resell so I could keep my pair for "free". Even though I did get looks and compliments for my sneakers (and I had some good outfits), I started not liking them as much for being extremely big, hard to clean and way too flashy. That’s why I decided to sell them a week ago and I got a pair of Nike Spiridons x Stussy and I instantly loved them. They go with almost anything, they’re more comfortable than most Yeezys in my opinion and they are subtle. I also love the fact that they’re made of hemp. My biggest shoe regret became one of my favorite purchases in a long time.

I actually regret getting my Supreme Air Force 1s; I wasn't into AF1 but I just wanted that one because I do occasionally enjoy the Supreme brand. It didn't help that I got desperate and bought them from Kick Game on a whim instead of the official Supreme website because scalpers kept buying them up

I don't have a huge shoe regret but there is a shoe that you also mentioned that I think I could have made better decisions when buying them: The Vapormax FK21. You also mentioned the shoes in your video (tho for a different reason) but I regret buying them because I'm always so terrified to step on something sharp and the shoe just breaks. For $210, it's a huge risk. However, it does go great with a lot of my outfits if you choose the white color because white on white combo always works.

Appreciate this video, I'm so glad I didn't let most hype get to me! I just couldn't bring myself to like NB 574 (too clownish looking IMO), Nike Vapour (love the way it looks, but knew it would only look good when I wear skinny jeans/leggings w/ it. Also, really not that comfortable when I tried in-store), and Nike Dunks (I just KNOW it's not meant for me. I never identified with it.) Addidas sneakers also never look that good to me. I don't get Samba lols.
ps Since I was little and saw the first pair of Birkenstocks on my relative, I knew I would never be caught dead in one. Till this day that still holds true.

My feet grew from 8.5US to 9US recently and I totally forgot about it. I was on a EU website looking for a pair of clean shoes when I stumbled on a pair of Forum low premium that looked really clean, but they only had it in 8.5US. I was so happy that the only pair left was "my" size so I bought them right away, including the shipping fee to the US. Needless to say it was a pain in the ass to put them on. Now they just sat in my closet doing nothing and I regret it ever since.

I went through a phase of having too many white sneakers including the white Achilles low that I ended up buying nothing but black sneakers and other colors only to never wear them. I bought suede Achilles low thinking they’d be better but they were just as uncomfortable. Same with the blazers. I sized up and they’re still narrow and uncomfortable and the vapor maxes. Now I have too many shoes I want to give away but nobody seems to be my size.
