I feel the same way about Vans. But I recently found out that if I give some sneakers some time apart and then wear them in the right mood and outfit I fall back in love again. Happens with every sneaker I own.
I switched to vintage Club C from Stan Smiths because all the Stans in stores switched to plastic uppers and everyone was wearing them, and fell in love with the soft butterey leather and busier design, and the foam midsole is so much better than the hollow honeycomb rubber in the SS Seeing a lot more Reebok on foot these days
Yeah I was also suprised by the fact that I cant find leather stan smiths anymore, thankfully there is something called stan smith lux which is more expensive ofc but can be easily found on discounts!
I love these videos because of the honesty and humor. Also, it helps me reflect on whether or not to get the same shoes based on your personal perspective. It's good to see different views. Great video, always look forward to the "see ya later," at the end, lol.
Veteran sneaker head here. When it comes to shoes introducing specific pairs into your wardrobe don’t get caught up on “is there a pair that looks better?” However remember just because the shoe doesn’t gel PERFECTLY it offers a different look unique to the shoe AND you’ll always have another chance to wear “the right” pair
Forgot to comment last week lol. I really agree with your point about not buying multiple colors of the same product, as you are most likely going to trend towards your favorite color.
I'm extremely fond of the Club Cs. I used to be a huge 50-pair sneakerhead, but as I moved to college and slimmed down my rotation a ton, I realized just how much I loved the one-shoe do-it-all mentality they embodied, and I'm now on my 4th pair in a row. I especially love running each pair into the ground, and the vintage aesthetic helps the aging, in my opinion. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, ofc
Ive also had a change of heart on club c's in the last couple of years. Its definitely the aging for me, and you make a good point about them looking clumsy. Imo they make a great trainer that you dont mind roughing up and wearing to a festival or on a dog walk or something, but there's better options for your "best" outfits.
Reebok Club C 85 vintage are one of the most worth to buy sneakers. Top Quality shoes and very comfortable and also fits with everything. What's not to like?
I regret my sambas too. They’re too narrow. I miss my busenitz so I probably should’ve picked up a pair of those instead. They have padding so they’re more comfortable and don’t break my heels either
I love my Club C’s lol. I got 5 pairs in my collection and haven’t paid retail for any of them. I’m a big fan of the Revenge Vintage model as they have more touches to them that elevate them over the 85 model IMO. Though yeah if you’re a streamlined sneaker I wouldn’t say they are to be fair.
Regarding the sambas, you might want to give the Samba Decon a look. They're a higher quality version made with more premium (and much softer) leather plus a collapsible heel counter so they can also be used as makeshift mules. Light years more comfortable than the regular sambas, in my opinion. Finally, if you're looking around for other colorway Spezials, I'd recommend the womens' line. I have the black/faded pink colorway which may tickle your fancy. At any case, another great and insightful video.
I have a pair of onitsuka tigers as well (in yellow) and yeah for some reason they're hard to style correctly. (but I still love em and aint getting rid of them either haha)
The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 work well with slim or skinny jeans, which aren't popular rn but the shoes were popular in the mid 2000s. (Then again, there were the Stan Smiths back then paired with parachute pants.)
I feel the same way you did about vans for a while, but recently I picked up the knu skools and they re-ignited my love for the brand again, I'm really into super chunky skater/dad shoes lately and it fit my style so perfectly.
Have to agree with the Reeboks, they really don’t age well, but hey some people do love the more worn out look but in my opinion they get worn out too quickly
When a new shoe is hurting my skin I like to put a big non-water resistant plaster on the area and then coat it a little in vaseline to get rid of the stickiness around the edges. It stops the shoes rubbing against my skin and the vaseline stops my socks from ripping the plaster off.
Appreciate your sincere honesty, alongside some of the reasons for each shoe. It’s quite interesting, as when/if I purchase any of the ones mentioned in this video, I may remember the opinions stated during the decision-making process..🖖🤜🤛
I’m vans sk8 hi8 and I know how you would feel specially with classic black and white. You can probably tone the shoe down by replacing the lace from white to black. The changes the whole she aesthetic
I like this series. There are so many pieces that I buy throughout the year that just don't get a use. And a lot of time, these are the one thats trending.
I have lots of onitsuka tigers and love them all. They are really great for driving my sports cars because they are not bulky. That said, they have become unobtanium since the US online store - at least last several time I have tried it - apparently shut down and it appears the only way to buy Tigers is from Japan. Maybe you have more information
The only shoes I wear are drop zero, wide toe box shoes. I am grateful they make stylish enough shoes. The only "expensive" sneakers I purchase are Jordan retros from the 90s. Almost "xero" regrets.
Harry its time to put all these minimal flat top sneakers away and get into some new balance and hiking shoes. BTW I copped a pair of Dr.Marten ZebZags because of you. I think they need to redesign the little strap rivet cause its pretty shoddy but, fantastic shoes that slip on and look great with everything.
@@ca21-p4q maybe cream/tan? I have pair of the blue ones like harry and they oddly bright in certain lighting that makes it hard to decide what to wear them with lol.
I’m totally with you on the club c’s. I accidentally bought them a size too big (mostly because they were 50% off) and yes, they crease horrendously. I love the comfort the shoe provides, but as you said, sometimes they feel too chunky. I also feel like they get very dirty, very easily. I have so many shoes, I prefer over the club c’s, that I really don’t wear them much. Even for the very low price tag, they were not worth my money.
Your right Harry, none of those shoes match your outfits.. i think they look best with shorts and a tshirt.. i like Vans, but without the white stripe on the side.. the white stipe looks too juvenile.. i still love chuck 70s, though, classic

To solve your adidas samba "comfort" problem... try the samba DECON. I had a similar issue with the regular sambas... but the DECON models offer a way more comfortable shoe compared to the original.
Thanks for the info! Good to know for others looking into buying them but I think its a good idea for me to stick to the pairs already as i have too many pairs of the same kinda shoe.
Good video as always. Can't believe you feel that way about the MM Gats. They look so clean on you. Wht were the trousers you had on with them in this video btw!?

How shoe experimentation works: You have a colection of basic footwear staples that work for your style----> You get bored of those eventually, thus you decide to add something juicy within your collection-----> You keep wearing those basics despite the fact that you've broadened your colection---and then you realize you have absolutely zero compensation for being 1000-3000 $ poorer - - - - > You decide to sell ||| give away the pairs you accumulated, as those are just clogging the space----> You have few basic footwear that work for your style. Yeah, Koio and Oliver Cabell both make an upgraded version of the Club C that ages much better with better leather. I've had good experiences with those
Still waiting for the Solovair loafers review! I am waiting for the comparison video. I trust you mate. I just want to know which pair should I buy first. Thanks for all you do!
Wear that blue Adidas during summer with shorts, then you can make that color work! But under a long pants they are a bit bright I like that you always cover like a million shoes I wont even consider but I just keep coming back because I like seeing what other people wear and your dry presentation
The adidas samba also hurts my ankles and slips a lot on wet surfaces, but I find them very easy to match. My regret is the adidas bali, I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it, it doesn't suit my style at all.
the GATS don't seem to work with black trousers. I've donee them with grey flannel wool trousers and they work but they're best with olive army chino or any raw/light denim
Love the glasses Harry 🖤 Where are they from? Also, have been wearing Sambas so very much so that they've become my everyday shoe really 😅 They fit me like a sock and go with will fitted pants, have tried wearing them with baggier trousers and they didn't seem to go well with them. Like always great content ❤
Thank you bro. They are from Jimmy Fairly. They were one of the last pairs in the exact model left though. Hopefully they bring them back as I would like another pair in another colour
Couldn’t agree more with the Skate-High. I have such a personal connection to them cause it was my high school go-to shoe so I have a new pair but when I wear them I feel like I wanna change it up. This video is a great definition of having constructive criticism doesn’t mean hate it’s just opinions.
I think when I tried to buy those Reeboks they sent me the women's size and I got mad and never re-ordered, they were definitely fire when nobody else had them
Completely relate on the Sambas. I wore mine yesterday for the first time in a year, while wearing low cut socks, and the back of my ankle started bleeding soon after. Hopefully the Gazelle doesn’t have this problem? Might pick those up.
Sambas were football shoes back then so they designed it to wear it with long socks but yeah those problem sucks. Got mine (the classic one because it also a futsal shoes) and took a walk with it with low socks and got me bleeding and had to wore flip flops everywhere 🤣
I have two pairs of the club c’s one in the OG pure white, and the vintage chalk white. One thing I noticed is that the vintage pair is bulkier than the OG. The sockliner is thicker and more padded on the inside. That said, I also regret buying the vintage pair bc im more into slimmer and low profile shoes, plus the OG pair gets more of natural wear off effect thru time, unlike the vintage pair which still looks dope, but the yellow sole and almost beige upper seems a bit off for me esp in person.
My mistake was loving the Common projects so much I purchased them in multiple other colour ways only to realise for the most part CPs work well in white or grey but mostly white. Have rebought the white pair for the last 10 years
@@HarryHas got an all black pair in 2017 and it’s aged well for me. I also have a grained leather black pair with a white sole which I rock with white shoe laces and it’s dope. Ultimately the white (and sometimes grey) Common Projects are the holy grail and I also switch shoes laces now and again. Currently rocking a white pair with laces from the blush era
Shoes you regret buying the most... "..at the moment. You do realise most or all of your reasons here are because you bought more of whatever the new trend was hence your "style" changed then you didnt like the shoes you loved anymore and now you regret them. Its no fault of the shoe but your lack of an individual, personal style that is able to withstand passing trends.
for me basic sneakers dont do it for me at all. while they technically function in the vast majority of wardrobes, im always gravitating to more obscure models that are more of a challenge to style or ones that are more chic
Haha. Weren't these all the must-haves from last year? Glad i resisted getting these and doing my own thing. Do get how you feel, though. That being said, I'm only finally now getting some use out of the trainers i brought at the tail end of last summer. This year has been so wet and horrible so far.
This is kinda adjacent to clothing but, do you have any hair styling tip? I'm just trying to match how you hair looked like a month ago and failing in the process haha
im on the same boat with my sambas. i bought the black pair with the white stripes. ive worn them at least ten times. i only wear them when im not out for long periods of time. because i went out with them once or twice for a long time and my feet were killing me. even then, i bought another pair but in all white. i ended up selling the one and wished i bought the white pair with the black stripes. im still not sure what to do with the black one. ill still hold on to them for now. my default go to sneaker are my eras by vans. i never have a problem with them and they are comfy and never go out of style imo. i always just get the off white canvas.
The gazelle mistake is so easy to make. I fell into that a few years back and bought like 5 colourways saying I'll wear them all. Wore one or two and ended up donating the rest.
Surprised you were not fond of Margiela GATs. Mine too are not worn nearly as often as they should be but mostly so cos I am too overprotective of them xD
Love to see it! Next can you do a video on best shorts to wear this summer? Im trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear shorts, keep up the good work!
I've never quite understood why Asics is the more prominent brand in Blighty, as opposed to Onitsuka. I really enjoy Japanese stuff in general, would love a pair of Onitsuka trainers, but just don't see them around. Asics I associate with battered school bags. I understand what you mean about liking something, but thinking it might not suit your style though. I wore Chucks for years and years, so many colours and variations, and venturing beyond that leads to a lot of questions. I've fancied a pair of New Balance for a bit now, but am watching them fizz in and out of stock while wondering if they'll suit me. Love the 'clean cut Scandi streetwear' former stylings btw! Thank you for the vid, Harry :)
I have Gazelle in baby blue with neon orange adidas logo on the back and style wise they are just amazing, I love the unique color because it fits my mostly rather dark garderobe very well as it is an eye catcher ive been searching for long... and almost no one haves them ;) anyways its always a mess how fast they get dirty - which is normal for light colored shoes ofc but the leather like material is a bit difficult to clean, they sometimes have spots where they are black somehow. Also, build quality could be a bit better. But yes because of the reasons mentioned in the beginning I highly recommend them anyways, at least bc they arent so expensive, look fancy, and super comfortable too. Just remember they are more sneakers for only the city streets and need very good care :)
Damn, Harry, these are some of my favorites, specially because of the vintage feel. I plan into buying some Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 or Reebok Club C 85.

You shouldn't regret those purchases, you should regret not treating your compulsive impulse to buy just to buy 😅
I own the Gazelles in red but they don't have that plastic looking thing going on at the bottom. What is that?
It’s a sole made for indoor courts. I got the red and white gazelles too I love em
I think when I tried to buy those Reeboks they sent me the women's size and I got mad and never re-ordered, they were definitely fire when nobody else had them
OT: what brand/model is the brown tee you're wearing? It looks great.
I think many of these sneakers would work well with Orslow green fatigue pants.
The length/fit of the trousers at 3:13 are exactly what I'm looking for, where did you get those beauties?
They are from Zara. Thanks bro
Same here with the sambas. I'm glad i tried them on in stores if i would have bought them i could have immiedtly send them back.
club c's are totally bulky. you need to get ones that have a bit of contrast on the sole to combat the clunkiness.
Completely relate on the Sambas. I wore mine yesterday for the first time in a year, while wearing low cut socks, and the back of my ankle started bleeding soon after. Hopefully the Gazelle doesn’t have this problem? Might pick those up.
It doesn’t have that problem for me. I find them pretty comfortable
Have rebought the white pair for the last 10 years
I bought too many Common Projects variations over the years. Still always wanted the full black pair of Achilles, but not sure they would age nicely
The Reebok Club C 85 vintage are just so weirdly thin on the sides, my feet simply don't fit them at all. Unfortunate because the design is awesome
Got a good laugh about the sambas. Love the Margiela and I wear my black pair almost daily. Which pants do you have on with the Onitsuka GSMs? 3:14
1:10 do you have the link of the black trousers my friend?
Yes. In the description box 👍
I ended up going for the Glory Red gazelles, they go well with dark colored jeans so their brightness doesn't feel as much of a problem for me
for me basic sneakers dont do it for me at all. while they technically function in the vast majority of wardrobes, im always gravitating to more obscure models that are more of a challenge to style or ones that are more chic
Haha. Weren't these all the must-haves from last year? Glad i resisted getting these and doing my own thing.
Do get how you feel, though. That being said, I'm only finally now getting some use out of the trainers i brought at the tail end of last summer. This year has been so wet and horrible so far.
Did you watch the very end?
This is kinda adjacent to clothing but, do you have any hair styling tip? I'm just trying to match how you hair looked like a month ago and failing in the process haha
Another casualty of the fast-changing fashion industry 😊
For the blue Gazelle, have you considered change the laces to some of the color of the shoes? It usually make them more low profile
Yeah, I have the other laces. I’ll probably get around to wearing them at some point
im on the same boat with my sambas. i bought the black pair with the white stripes. ive worn them at least ten times. i only wear them when im not out for long periods of time. because i went out with them once or twice for a long time and my feet were killing me. even then, i bought another pair but in all white. i ended up selling the one and wished i bought the white pair with the black stripes. im still not sure what to do with the black one. ill still hold on to them for now.
my default go to sneaker are my eras by vans. i never have a problem with them and they are comfy and never go out of style imo. i always just get the off white canvas.
Shorts video is in the making 🤟
1:27 Oscar winning performance right there...l'm telling ya'll 😅
Great video Harry!
Thanks mate
Try the blue gazelle's with blue laces instead of the white ones. Maybe it would make it more subtle.
Hey Harry where'd you get this outfit from? 3:23 the shirt and the pants. Love it!
Damn, Harry, these are some of my favorites, specially because of the vintage feel. I plan into buying some Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 or Reebok Club C 85.
How many sneakers do you have? Just wondering as I have a fair few and probably regret buying like 1 or 2 pairs.
All these shoes would be too narrow for me 😭 it's Birkenstock and New Balance for me these days. Great video as always!
Thank you mate
I ordered Onitsuka Tiger sneakers and immediately sent them back. The detailed looked different in real than online. But I still like this brand
Harry trashed the Reebok CC85s again. Now I need another monitor and keyboard.
😂 Sorry bro
