I don't know what the final deal was but I gave that video a like for Jake! 😂
Same lol
Kinda a downer
Did he get like $5 buck per 100 likes?
Another like for the kid. 🙃
Hey folks, glad to see Levi is well on the mend and feeling good after the surgery. Nice choice on truck, toyotas always seem to be reliable.
Glad to seeing you doing better Levi. Also, what a little legend Jack is!
Thanks! He’s pretty great 👍🏼😜
I am so happy for you both. From the Honda Element to this excellent purchase, I can tell you both have learned a lot.
Video's only been live for 10-15 minutes and 23 likes, I think Jack's going to have some cash on hand soon :) Smart to state terms while Levi was distracted haha. Congrats on the truck and being able to move the trailer! Glad to see Levi feeling better and back to his happy self!
Yeah he’s getting a little too smart for his own good I think. 🧐
Good for you guys! A great choice for your truck for sure. Wish you both all the best with healing , baby, and truck. Blessings.
Glad to hear you have recovered from your surgery Levi. Let's say you bought the best truck. That's the truck of my dreams but I don't really need it. It's always want versus need in my life. I drive a 2004 Honda Pilot and it can hold 7 kids, perfect for my boys and all their friends over the years. But the Tacoma has always been my dream vehicle. Enjoy and Leah your baby bump is so adorable.
Congratulations on the new rig and speedy healing.
Levi it’s good to hear you’re on the mend, that’s a super nice truck for its age.
Tell Leah she is absolutely glowing.
I'll let her know! 🥰
From the limited knowledge i have of trucks, Toyotas are the best i hear. My coworker has this exact truck in black. My parents have a Tacoma. You've inspired me to shop used car if i ever buy again.
A cared for Toyota (or Honda) can last close to forever, or at least as close to forever as a human might need. Made well with quality materials. Congratulations!
So happy to see you are doing so well Levi. Leah ~ you look fantastic.....getting close.
Thank you!!
Leah's bump! Ahhh love! 💜
Only in Canada and the US people choose these larger than life trucks... to tow a trailer (or caravan) you can do with a regular vehicle 😀
I don’t understand either, crazy to see how much the American automotive industry has hijacked the way North Americans think and perceive the need for a truck to have an "outdoors" lifestyle
@@keesvandoorne4079yeah yeah, we’re all brainwashed over here and everyone else in the world is not, they have no problems and are way better than us.
@@SuperAaron99 Exactly 😉
Agreed, came here to say the same thing.
Here in Mexico. North Mexico big trucks are a must. Specially if you’re in a Rancho (farm) in fact everyone in my family and our town you can only see big trucks. 🛻
Beautiful truck!! Congrats guys. The tunnel cover is a nice addition too, that’ll be so handy. Great to have room for a baby seat too 💕
Right? We’re pretty happy with it so far!
Levi Hildebrand Tows The World!
Also, Jack is life! 🙌
Great choice! With trailer putting wait on the rear end, you won't need 4wd unless very extreme road conditions. Also, you're right, bigger engines are better when towing and hauling.
That truck is great! And the rack in the back is awesome !
Very nice truck! Good work guys.
Looks like you got a really nice rig for towing -- although I share your disdain for the burgundy.
Now that first Ridgeline was SWEET! Not UGLY, rather "classic brutish" and not burgundy either -- at least not on my screen -- It looked like nearly Black Cherry to me!
That said, the Tundra will probably be better suited for you and more spacious / comfortable as well.
I was tempted to get a Ridgeline when I ended up getting my 2012 Sorento 3.5L and I've always been a Nissan truck guy.
You're very right about tow vehicles ( I've commented on that before), so glad to see you making good choices. Hope you had a good mechanic give it an inspection first though -- you really never know what might come up and how much $$$surprises$$$ can reveal themselves early into owning a used "diamond in the rough" that you believed was already golden.
Hope you have a smooth, trouble free ($$$) experience with the truck -- I know the trailer's giving you lots of material already, lol.
Cheers!...from North Vancouver
Thanks for this! We're pretty happy with what we got so far!
Such a deal! You’re going to love the shell and slider tray. Crew cab is excellent for 2 car seats. Super convenient for family and travel!
And your back…
We agree! Pretty excited to get this thing set up!
I'm excited you settled on tundra. I took my 05 Sequoia across the US this summer. There's some great aftermarket mods for the older rigs. I installed an inverter in the center console and and dual battery under the hood for in cab power.
Congrats on the truck. I think you all got the right size. 4 wheel would be nice but… “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” At the end all I could think about is that one day it will be your kid screaming and running around pretty soon 😬💜
Haha right? The insanity is already on its way and this truck is going to see a lot! 😜😅
Yew Levi 'Truck the World' Hildebrand :D Great buy guys. Not Just Bikes did a good video on these about 5 months back. I think he's a fan :)
Hahaha yeah Jason is not going to be happy pf course but maybe we can start some youtuber drama from it 😜😜
Familyfun yayyyy
You are so close to hitting 200,000 maybe you can get that before the next video❤
I feel that this was a really good deal
Your life is never boring 😂 Leah, you look amazing and Levi, you are too 😂 Can’t wait to see what comes next ❤
Thanks for commenting Linda! 🥰
I'm so relieved you didn't get a Ridgeline. My parents' Ridgeline is dying a premature death after towing their trailer around the not so mountainous Missouri. It's a bigger, heavier trailer than yours (I think), but still glad you didn't go that way. They're looking to replace the Ridgeline with a Toyota Tundra XD
Your back!!! So happy. Let me just paint you a picture. I’m taking today off and my two dogs are by me and now I’m just about to enjoy your vlog. Thanks for sharing your life as always with us.
Thanks for being here! 🥰🥰
Something that you didn't mention about getting an electric truck is that their range is heavily influenced when towing.
Yeah that’s honestly the biggest thing. It just doesn’t work for a roadtrip of any serious length.
The Ford Lightening EV has issues with battery drain while towing things.
The only thing I could say about buying an all in one camper with engine issues. If you found one that used a fairly common engine, you could just buy a crate engine and swap the whole thing out. That might be easier/cheaper. 🤷♂️
Yeah that was an option too! We’re hoping that a solid hybrid truck with better fuel economy comes out in the coming years so we can go down to one vehicle but… I guess we’ll see. 🤷🏻♂️
You bought a toyota. So I love you guys even more
It will be interesting to see once you get the trailer up and going, but my dad has found in his Chevy Silverado that he actually gets better gas mileage when he has his camper on the back or is towing. These vehicles are designed to haul weight!
Liking for Jack! In preparation of parenthood
From thinking of moving to a bike paradise...to this...? Life is crazy!!
It might still happen! haha
And back to life.
Levi and Leah this is what it’s all about. Famiky. You guys have a beautiful extended family. Your parents are going to be welcoming another grandchild in very shortly and I’m sure they can’t be prouder of you too. Your lives are always filled with excitement and ❤. Keep up the great content.
Thank you! We’re super lucky! 🥹🥰
🙏🏿🔥
I love ya'll but this video is like for Jack! 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂
I can't imagine that's very fuel efficient
Nope! Haha but as we learned in our research there isn’t really a fuel efficient option nowadays (unless you spend a lot of money)
@@LeahandLevi Volvo XC70, Ford Escape, Mazda CX5, Volkswagen Touareg, Toyota RAV4
All of these have models meant for towing caravans, very common in Europe and… also safer, better in the environment and can be easily found in the west coast
I suppose that's North America for you. In the UK we have plenty of affordable, efficient vehicles suitable for towing
When ya’ll start a video with “soooo…..” and then a lil nervous laugh I know it’s gonna be a good video lol
its wild to me ya'll overthere need a truck to tow a caravan. here you can use a good chunk of regular cars
A truck and a trailer .. how Canadian. Well, you do you…
When referring to trhe Honda Ridgeline you should use truck in parenthesis.
. . . the Tundra is a great truck, and usually the preferred full sized purchase for everyone if they could just afford one . . . being 2 wheel drive makes your new purchase an unusual critter, and probably increasingly valuable in years to come, if you choose to keep it . .. curious as to the mileage . . .
So far it’s great! 211,000km on the odometer 👍🏼
. . . she'll probably be good for 400 000, if you decide to keep her . . . congrats on a great investment! . . . @@LeahandLevi
I feel compelled to hit "like", thanks to Jack. 😅😊
I'm bad for liking videos but I'm liking this for Jack #givejackhisbucks 😂
How does the frame look?
Come on folks! Do your part to get that kid his $5!!
We have a 2007 Toyota Hilux (UK equivalent). It's an excellent tow vehicle, really reliable and very comfortable on long journeys.
We all want the Hilux over here in Canada!
Jack is....a LOT. 😂😂😂Congrats on your new truck, Leah & Levi. Leah, you're absolutely blossoming. I love the new mics you both have. Little furry bosom buddies. hahahaha. Does it feel weird talking down to your boobs, though? 😂 Have an awesome week. ♥
Thank you! We're having a pretty awesome summer so far but soon the reno will start in earnest!
I thought you where genuine about the Toyota Prius going around north America!
Now I see 😢
what are you talking about?
glad you're not boomers like my parents (they bought a "overused" car that had more repair costs than one of us going to school over time I think, it's almost like another sibling lol, I do envy it sometimes)
Anyway...glad to be back ya'll
my husband has a 2002 toyota tacoma and while it looks like shit, i'll literally never sell it unless we absolutely have to because it's sooo useful. dump run? truck. mulch? truck. free furniture on buynothing? truck. big plant to transport? truck. toyota is great.
2WD vehicles are actually better for towing, so it kinda works out if you aren't trying to 'off-road'.
My step dad had that truck for years and put like 300,000+ miles on it with very little problems (until electrical stuff like doors locks and electric windows stopped working) the door literally fell off and he just got a new one and kept going. Unfortunately it was quite the gas guzzler though. But for reliability you need gas or diesel. Also the ugly ridgeline bit is cracking me up😂 so true
Yeah it’s a workhorse! Sadly when I compared the numbers towing between the tundra and the ridgline they were about the same because the ridge line has a smaller engine it has to rev a lot higher 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Scotty Kilmer would be proud of the two of you 😂
Likes for Jack!!
Great job. I used to sell for Toyota. I was so excited when Tundras came out.
Levi. Wow-really stunning upload. 🎥
Thank you very much!
You should’ve went with the Ridgeline, not only is it safer in case of a crash but it would’ve been more efficient.
Regardless… why go for a pickup truck anyways? There are so many examples of families from Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc…, going on Caravan holidays hauling heavy loads across Europe with a full family in tow, rarely do you see any family that uses a full size pickup truck, so the reasoning behind being safer/better just doesn’t add up.
Something like a Volvo XC70 would of been way better in your case and in all honesty match better with what your channel was previously focused about around sustainability.
We seriously looked at smaller vehicles but they are less safe and aren’t actually more efficient. A smaller engine on a underpowered vehicle will get the same mileage as a full size truck. Plus now we have a truck for truck stuff 🤷🏻♂️
I’m looking at a small RV to tow with my vehicle and the message I keep hearing is to get an SUV/truck with more than enough towing capacity than you will need, otherwise it is too hard on the vehicles transmission. ie; don’t pull the maximum amount. I think you guys have the right idea, getting the larger vehicle for towing, in addition to all the other benefits of the truck you chose. 💕🌸💕
@@carrie3206that message you’re hearing has been dictated heavily by the North American automotive industry. If you’re towing small RV under 3000 kilo then there is no need to buy a truck with a V8, towing is always going to be difficult on a vehicle, in fact you’ll have to change your transmission oil more frequently because of it, this is regardless of the fact if you buy a larger vehicle or not
@@LeahandLeviat least you still have the Prius so you’re not daily driving the truck and it’s a fair point that you guys are indeed using it for what it’s intended for which is way better than what probably %99 of truck buyers do which is driving it to the local mall lol
Make sure to check your fluids, especially with the transmission oil, as long as you change it frequently you’ll have a truck that lasts, best of luck to your family
Liked for Jack
I hope Jack got his $50. Good on him for negotiation.
1:30 I thought Levi was going to say “How many child we can… DO in it” 😂😂
Please share an Jack update on the next video lol. Definitely liked it after his negotiations. (I was going to anyway though 😂)
He is persistent if anything 😜😅
NICE TRUCK GUYS!!!!!!!
My like was for Jack. I hope he gets that $50 😂❤
Leah twerking!!! Sent me hahahahaha 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 so Stinkn cute
The audio is much worse than other videos, it's pretty low and I've got my volume up full.
When you hit the part in the video 'one week earlier' the volume was perfect.
BTW, the purple is cool, I'm shocked you think it's ugly.. wow!!
Hmmm ok well that’s not good. Guess I gotta figure some stuff out
@@LeahandLevi no one else seems to notice so don't figure anything else out, maybe it's just my computer.
Oh man, you are going to owe Jack so much money...
Ok I’m not into trucks, but I actually thought that first ridgeline you looked at was kinda cute (for a truck)! They look like the chubby babies of trucks lol…also I really like the mauve 😂
Hahaha yeah I mean I almost bought it but they’re an acquired taste 😜😅
“Look how many kids you could fit back here!” Don’t tell us you’re having twins! 😂
I hope y’all paid for a pre-sale inspection before handing over the money….
Europeans tow trailers like this all the time with sedans and station wagons.
Why didn't you just get the ridge line
It sold while I was getting my surgery done. 👀
@@LeahandLevifair enough Levi lol
that 2nd guy didnt even bother to clean the car at all when its in that state?!
Like for Jack
Just liked so Jack will get his $50 😃
If this comments gets 100 likes Jack gets his $50!
More Jack, please!! Might as well change the channel name to "Jack & Leah... and Levi" He's the star of the show! Hope you pay the kid.
I’ll be paying him in high fives haha
Can I borrow the truck for moving?
A Toyota 😅🤣😂
11:20 I didn't see anything
No the way I looked at the insta post and thought the exact same thing as Levi ugly I cool in 2023😅
Older?! Lmao Johnny's truck is a 2012. Oh wait... it's 2023, huh. I feel old 😂
I love my 2005 Chevy Colorado but I know it wouldn’t pull what y’all are pulling. Mine is the only 5 cylinder that they made. Almost 170,000 miles on it.
Also LEVI YOU CANT MEET UP WITH STRANGERS AND TALK ABOUT FITTING BODIES IN THEIR CAR!! Hahahaha maybe it’s different in Canada idk
Oh it totally is lol that's how we measure car trunks and truck beds 😆
Hahaha yeah it’s very Canadian to measure everything in how many dead bodies you can fit in them 😜😅
I know you are both environmentally conscious, but I don't think you need to justify your decision to anyone. In my own life, I drive a vehicle that is not fuel efficient, but for similar reasons to you. I do what I can to be environmentally conscious in other ways. You picked the tool you felt was best to get the job done. Also, I'm sure you already know this, but mid-sized trucks like the Tacoma get around the same gas mileage anyway, so why not go with the option that has more room, larger engine, and a better towing experience. Anyway, nice truck!
Thanks for the comment! Yeah it took a little bit of research for us to realize that the best tool for the job was going to be a real truck and so far it’s worked out pretty well 👍🏼
Is it just me or do those new microphones remind anyone else of the Tribbles from the original Star Trek??? Careful you two, you might have a breeding pair! 😅
Every truck needs a box slide.
Your license plate 😵
2WD is fine on the coast, unless you're up here visiting your (Levi's) parents in the winter or mud season lol
Congrats on the new truck! For future can we avoid the term lady-driven when talking about cars? Gender has nothing to do with the condition of a vehicle and it’s an antiquated concept! 😊
How many miles? I will not get rid of my 2002 ChevyTahoe with 160,000 miles. just a teenager. They can go 300,000
NICE PULL OUT IN THE BACK AND SHELL AWSOME!!
1.5 k likes for jack
I'm from Germany. As other europeans already pointed out, it is shocking to see you buy a truck to tow that trailer. Towing trailers is very common over here. Especially close to the Netherlands, where I live. But you never ever see any truck doing it. If people have a truck (which is very, very uncommon over here), they are usually not towing anything additionally.
I understand the wish to go with a trailer and a car and not a van (which probably would have beenthe size of the truck but with better aerodynamics). But why not just use a normal car for towing? Its what everybody does over here. Just normal sized cars towing trailers. Its what you see all the times over here on our Autobahns. We are a car loving country with very detailled laws what you can do with a vehicle and at what speed (as we dont have a general speed limit). Nonetheless it is normal cars towing trailers over here. Or vans standalone. Or maybe a van and a small trailer for bikes or boats or something.
A normal car would also have been cheaper, which was your mentioned reason to go for a truck.
Is there a law over there in Canada that prevents the usage from most cars as a towing vehicle? Please dont see this as criticism to your choices. Its just that for everybody with a european perspective this just looks at the most confusing thing you could do. There seems to be something we dont get, that seems so basic for you, that it didnt need explanations from your perspective.
Especially after all your reasonig why you decided on your Prius for the year long trip, something seems to be missing. Its clear that with a family you need something bigger. And going for a trailer and a towing mashine and all is very reasonable. Also the logic not to go for an electric or hybrid version is fine.
The thing that your European audience needs to be explained is why a truck is needed in your case. As over here nobody would even consider a truck for that job. Here even people who own a truck probably would use a car for towing that trailer if they happen to own a car as well.
But for your American audience this seems to be fine. So there seems to be something that we over here dont get.
Europe is different than Canada and our needs reflect that. Sure we could technically have towed the trailer with a volvo, but that volvo might not have liked the thousands of kilometers that we plan putting on it with a trailer behind it. I also learned through research that an underpowered vehicle gets equal gas mileage to a more powerful vehicle doing the same job, and then we have the added benefit of having a truck for jobs related to the trailer. I could spell it out a bunch of other ways but ultimately if you think a truck makes you a bad person for hating the environment you probably should be following our channel haha
Everyone is so offended that you guys bought a truck🙄. building electric vehicles has a huge carbon footprint especially when you take into consideration cobalt and lithium mining. this truck is the perfect tool for the job. How many kilometers are on it?
This guy has 211,000kms on it which is pretty reasonable for its age 👍🏻
12miles a gallon 🫣
Guy’s you can do better than that.
Hopefully it’s only for a little while.🤞
Nah, it’s 16 with the two wheel drive and sadly once you’re towing anything you lose your mileage anyways so a smaller engine doesn’t mean less gas sadly. 🤷🏻♂️
She bought a brand new truck but didn't trade in? 🤔👀
She said she contemplated not selling it maybe she planned to keep both and then decided later to sell it.. it's really just not that deep lol
@@droid2D2C3P0 ahh I took it as she was contemplating selling but then bought a new vehicle and now has to sell the old one. In which case she should've just traded in 🤷♀️
@@LunaBlitzI would not trade in. You can do better finacially selling privately.
