    The sizes are mens
    L 44" chest
    XL 46" chest
    2XL 48" chest
If you are wanting a smaller size I might suggest a hook or 2 smaller using the size L that I made in the video. Or maybe following the video and using a 4 weight. I don't know if doing these things will work as I didn't try it... I only measured for the 3 sizes in the video.

So Crystal a question about the beginning chains. Are they short a few stitches? I'm thinking 2 for each size? I am going to make your sweater using size XXL and Lion Brand's Mandela to see what I get! It is a very awesome sweater! Thanks so much for sharing

    • @BAGODAYCROCHET
      @BAGODAYCROCHET  6 лет назад +16

@@out-law-knitter Thank you!! I made my beginning chain 4 stitches more each size. Using a bulky 5 yarn, 4 stitches were approximately 1 inch. So by doing 4 more stitches on each side of the sweater, the size increased by 2 inches I would be interested in knowing what size you come up with using mandala yarn. It's sounds like it's going to be awesome. Please let me know how it turns out 😊

    • @out-law-knitter

      Well shucks you're welcome!
On your XXL directions I have 20" across for the back so far. Will see what 45 rows gives me in inches. I've got 23 rows so far and it's apx 11". Could you tell me how long your sweater turned out to be?
      My gauge: 2 row = 1 inch
      About 4 sat = 1 inch
I don't have much around in my area for yarnish company!

Crystal, i don't know if you check your old tutorial comments but i just wanted to let you know I've made four of these. All different sizes. I held a couple different yarns together. I remember when you said you would never do that and then here all the sudden you're loving mohair with something. Well, one of the cardigans i made was holding a #3 lavender with a bulky mohair and it totally worked. The mohair is self strong and i decided not to color the color knowing the stripes would be tough to match up the sides. So i just let it go and I'm glad i did. My mother loves things like that. Anyways, all of them turned out great and i can't wait to see my family open them. Honestly my favorite was with Premier everyday medley. I got that on sale for $2 and I'm so sad that they don't make it anymore. It's softer than their regular antipilling. What's great about this design is you can just change up the stitch pattern. It's fun. Thx!!

Maybe you can help me with a question if you made this. I am making size XL. I have 60 stitches across. When doing the increases for the front and stopping increasing at row 14, that leaves the total stitches across for front piece at 25, which means there is a 10-stitch gap between front pieces. Will the strip the buttons are on take up that much space, or should I add more increase rows? Thank you!

To anyone who is thinking of making this for a woman...
It works up beautifully! I made it for myself, I’m a size large, and I used the same yarn and a hook size 5.5. I made the size large. It fit very well. Im making another one right now and gonna make the extra large just to have a little bit more room.
This is a great project! Thnks so much for sharing Crystal.

Just finished making this cardigan. I used a worsted weight yarn #4. Bernat super value in the colour grey ragg.
I used a 6.5 mm hook for the main body and switched to a 6 mm for the arms
( I am a large size, but I followed the instructions for an x-large.). I also did 50 rows instead of 35 and for the arms I did 26 rows of DC and the I did 7 rows of SC for the cuff.
I love, love how it turned out. I am going to make another in a different colour. Thank you so much Crystal. I could not have had the courage to try this without your help.

Oh my gosh, Crystal, I found the yarn you are using, but it was a bit expensive...so I looked for another 5 weight....I found Redheart Infinity...it was 5.99 and I figured I'd need like 18 skeins in order to be sure I had enough (approx 129 yards per skein)....even with coupons it was still like 95.00, so for fun, I went to Herrschners....they had the Infinity marked down to $1.99 a skein!!!! so for 36.00 I got enough to make the sweater for a christmas gift!!!! I am so excited!! BUT WAIT, THERE"s MORE.....the yarn came in bags of 3, I called and canceled the one order, and got the bag of 3 for 4.47......after ordering the amount needed I saved $10.00. I may end up making 3 of these sweaters!!!!! I am soooo excited!!

Crystal I've been looking for an easy to follow standard cardigan video for what seems like forever because I am lousy when it comes to following a written pattern. I even wear a men's size large so this is perfect. Thank You So Much for this!
