i know i'm a year late but i'm obsessed with this comment. i put that little dude in everything i make.
One of the things I miss from the sims 3 is that when you place a tree it would look slightly different to the other tree of the same type you just used like it was slightly taller/shorter/thicker and it just made terrainging more interesting
Yeah now you can scale them up or down and that's more interesting than TS3, but there's just so much you can do with scaling and rotating plants.. I hope they read this and see if it can actually work on TS4

mehkillrat so from the second floor - they built a room on the first floor UNDER the existing second floor room. This allows you to perfectly line up the walls on the first floor with the ones on the second, for example in the video they built "supports" under the existing balcony this way.

Lol, I kinda like it.... it sorta seems like someone with influence and style bought a modern house and then started to grow paranoid once they discovered the plants and added the satellite dish and reinforced the greenhouse to grow the bizarre plants and all that funky paranoid bunker stuff...... and then there's the slip and slide for some reason....

In Sims 3, you can place fences on the edge of the lot, just not gates.

I guess you can't place the gates because they would open out of the lot.
What I definitely would love in Build/Buy is if each item can have different levels and price points.
So for example, a bed in design "A" can have different comfort levels (+1 to +10), and each level is at a different price point. It's pretty sad that whenever I want to buy an item that matches the entire room, but it doesn't give my sims enough moodlet because it's a cheap item. Like, I can totally afford a more expensive item to get enough moodlet, but sometimes I just want a particular design that just happens to be a cheaper one.
Maybe in the next patch or The Sims 5? :D

@@Skytoxin24 There is a mod by little miss sam that lets you "buy a mattress" that gives you a good moodlet for an uncomfy bed!
@@emmahachey4379 while that's helpful, I don't use mods and I moreso meant that the more expensive beds build energy much faster than the cheap ones. Thats the biggest issue with the bed system in Sims 4 right now. Does the mod address that or does it just replace an uncomfortable moodlet with a comfortable one?
This mini series is definitely a step in the right direction in terms of the Guru understanding players frustration and problems! Hopefully this can lead to some solutions, and change in the future. Thanks James & Romeo!
User testing is a key step that many shops skip. Conferences are great for feedback, of course, but sitting down with a user is invaluable.

In the sims 3, you could build fences up to the edge of the lot, but not walls
The wall thing is so the roof doesn't overhang the edge of the lot. But the fact that you have to make an indent to place a gate is a real pain ;)

It was great to listen to this discussion and hear the development challenges of the game and why certain things can’t be done or were not persued. Not being able to lower plants is a frustration of mine when using terrain tools but the explication makes sense. Hopefully they can come up with a solution. Did we get an answer on the fences on boundary edges ??

I don’t remember where it was that i read/heard this (i think it was a gurus twitter) that said that since walls and fences have a certain thickness to them, you can’t build on the edge of the lot since it would end up being partially outside of lot boundaries

I have a confession, though.
I have James' intro as my incoming text alert. So when my mobile phone goes "Hey guys, James here today." I know exactly who is a Simmer around me because they will chuckle or smile. Plus, he is on repeat until I pick up the phone.
Now I have Romeo's giggle as my incoming phone call which has people looking at me as if I am absolutely crazy...which I am not...much...lol.
I, for one, am so happy that someone from the Sims team is actually seeing what we players see and get frustrated over. Hopefully Romeo will relay some off these concerns back to the gurus

@@melaniesofia6586 Not OC but I think you could do RUclips to mp3 (there's tons of websites to do it, though it's in a legal grey area) and then use a free editing program to cut down the mp3 file to just that sound byte. Transfer to phone/download and boom! Set as ringtone.

What I did was go through all the lp and game plays where James does his intro and I used my laptop to create a loop using all the different "Hey guys, James here today," which I then transferred to my mobile phone ( Cell phones for Americans ) onto my memory card as a music file. Then I was able to use the file as either text or incoming phone call file.
I am sure there are a lot more tech savvy people out there who would have a far easier way of doing things which I would love to hear how they would do this for there phones.
However, even with all the hassle it is so worth it to watch people's reactions...lol

It would be cool to have a skateboard park, plus bicycles & etc. A sports pack. Also depending if your sim is lazy or active you get a different character virtual when interacting with this items.
Items: Skateboard, bicycles, basketballs, footballs, baseballs etc.
Plus you can add a new career! That would be awesome.

Erika Johansson All we need now is a trap door hatch for unsuspecting snoopers to fall through, getting them stuck in our secret lab. As the owner of it, we would automatically have a remote that would open the hatch and drop a ladder for us to get in & out. Of course, there would have to be a mechanic that would not allow more than one Sim to be on the ladder at any one time. That way our captive can’t escape as we go down there. Also, a ray gun of some kind is the perfect weapon to subdue our newfound prisoner, once we descend into the lab. 🧐🤓

James I agree! We rlllllly need more single tile round table but just more single tile tables in general.
I want tables that are 2x2 and 2x3 to match real world ones better. Currently the 1x1 tables look like the little ones you get in coffee shops with space for just two people at them, but the game has slots for 4 and its just really too cramped looking. Even the 1x2 and 1x3 ones look too narrow to have people sitting opposite one another on the long sides without banging their knees.

With the flat rope, it looks like someone put a rope soaked in some kind of disgusting liquid under the shelves then removed it, leaving only the stain of the rope behind.

The lab technician outfits in the science career are broken. Surprised me when my sim went to work on their first day and there was Don Lothario in a beautiful blue gown, dudes got some nice shoulders at least.
