Oh WOW! The Norrie hand stand was actually a real dude!! I always just reachd between my legs and grabbedthe rear of the seat. So when i jumped into the endo, i turned the bars and thrusted the bike seat forward. Now to help with balance, i always made my seat and bar ends align, so you can bridge across them with one hand. I did this getting into the hand stand as well
youre a legend me and my dad watched your videos hed taped in the 80s. me and him rode until i hurt my shoulder, but after seeing this i dont think i have any excuses anymore lol ill get back on it.
Funny, I'm 50 also and saw the Haro show in Mt. Clemens, Michigan as a kid. Dave, Ron Wilkerson and Brian Blyther, it was great, seeing three of my heroes riding in person.
Ha! I must have done hundreds of these in about 1986 but could never ride out of them. You were pretty darn close there. I think you’d have had it on one more try.
Everyone listen to Dave, i learned the miami hopper it took 2 weeks, i can only say its easy once you do it, practice endos get behind the seat then eventually you will turn the bars, then youll be like that was so easy. trust me, go for it.
Hardest part for me when I learned them was letting go of the bar with my right hand to grab the seat. Once you can do that the rest comes pretty quick.
What kind of bike is that? Saw you Wilkerson and Blyther at Rockville in like 85. Biggest crowd I ever saw for a bmx show! One day Ill never forget. Thanks.
Out of curiosity, are you able to do it like they did in "rad?" Where the guy was standing on his pedals without hanging onto the handlebars and standing completely upright on the pedals? Just rewatched Rad last night and seen that guy standing on his pedals and was amazed he was able to do that. Just curious at how much harder it would be to do like he did?
