I love your videos man! seriously, they're helping me out a TON! I'm 39 years old and getting back into Bmx. I haven't been on a bike in probably 20 yrs up until about 2 months ago. I thought I would be able to do everything on a bike that I could do when I use to ride a long time ago. I quickly realized thats not the case. haha. Thanks for posting and helping us beginners out.
Aird Bmx hows it going buddy.. I'm getting better at manuals, I still cant manual for a really long distance but, I've found my 'sweet spot' and know where I need to be to balance the bike out. I guess my question is, is it better to get in your 'sweet spot' first (or lean back) and then lift the front end or lift up the front first and then lean back? I've been doing it both ways.. I'm just not sure which is the right or proper way.. again I love your videos!!
Its going good! Good job getting the hang of manuals, so the way that I do my manuals is it is all one fluid motion to pull up into a manual. I lean back and pull up my front tire at the same time. I slightly bend my knees and get close to my manual position and then i lean back which makes my arms straight and pulls up the front end. Hope this helped!
I'm 46 years old, and getting into BMX racing as my 5 year old son races at a local club track. I've been trying to nail manuals, to the point of becoming slightly obsessed, and it's so much harder than it looks! Today I had my first major loop-out, smacked the back of my head (I always wear a full-face helmet, so no damage done) but really damaged my left arm/elbow because my body landed on it. I thought bailing out of a loop-out would be a simple case of jumping back off the bike and landing on my feet, but it happened SO quickly I didn't have time to react.
Key tip Your knees and shoulders should be above your seat and have your back leg strait, don't look at the front tire, look strait 👍👍 and you don't learn it in one day
You helped me so much because all my friends always ask me for a game of bike and I say no because do nothing but all your vidios teach me something new and I am better then my friends now
scariest thing about this manual you could hurt your back speak for my self i did it :) thank you for this amazing tutorial i commute with BMX sometimes i hit a great manual if i it's lucky day im 45 and im sure BMX is the best transport vehicle for urban/industrial so it works on your bloodstream too
Aird Bmx .... getting low and looping out now... getting close. Gave me so much confidence learning the balance I started hitting gaps in between manual practice loll...
Bro great video. Instantly felt like I understood, and felt my knees controlling the ride.amazing feeling!!! And what are you riding in this video? looks sick broski
Thanks for this! Might be the best BMX how-to-manual video on youtube. How tall are you? I'm trying to relate my body position to yours in the still @ 5:01 -- I think you may be way taller than me? (5'6", 20.5" tt/13.75" cs) But it's possible my beginner positioning is just jacked.
I'm about 6'1", and I run a 21" top tube. So as far as body positioning goes, it varies based on the person exactly how and where you can find your balance point. But normally if you aren't able to lock into them it's because you don't have your butt either low enough or far back enough. Hope this helps!
hey i love your videos, but i have just got into BMX and ive been trying to learn to manual lately but i just cant seem to get the tyre off the ground. has anyone go some tips?
I have troubles looping out, im practicing looping out on grass and i can manual 2 feet but i fall on my butt when i loop out i want to learn the save frkm fall i can do it with wheelies but not with manuals
It's all just trial and error of finding that balance point, you just have to keep trying them. Don't get frustrated they aren't easy to learn, but they are a lot of fun once you do!
I noticed you have the hoder btm frame. What size is your TT? I have the same frame in a 21.5 and I think It's too big. Trying to find super short stem to compensate. I'm 6'0
Thanks for the reply! I was just trying to gauge if I made a bad decision buying such a long frame. My bike definitely feels long but, I found a stem that has a reach of 36mm, so It should put my bars at the same length if I were riding a 21" TT with normal reach stem. Anyhow, great vids man! They've helped a lot!
Help me please!!! I'm 4'11 90 pounds and I have a 20.25" frame and i can't lift the wheel no matter what I do. Is my bike to big or should I just a keep practicing. I've been practicing for over a month now everyday and I just can't do it, please help!!!
Feed Me I had the same problem I'm 5'1 riding a 20.75 and I'm starting to get really good and I learned when I was your height just don't be scared to do tricks and step out of your comfort zone
So I can get into a manual for a few feet but then when the front end drops down and I throw my weight back I still can't save it and even when I get going I keep turning to the right no matter what I try
I think my bike is too big. I told my dad that i should buy an 18 inch but no :c i cant keep my front wheel up. Can someone give me some tips how to keep my front wheel up?
Aird Bmx my bike is very heavy it is also a cheap Walmart bike. And I'm short 5'3 I've watched over 10 tutorials. Should I just get a new bike or is it possible
I was doing so good looping out and my feet got stuck to the pedals. Fell flat on my back, It didn't really hurt when it happened but my back has been screwed up for a week now. Seriously tho wear a helmet... It doesnt actually look dumb, and it will stop you from getting brain damaged. Theres really no recovering from that. You never know even if youve fallen a hundred times.

+Lorenzo Orazi thanks man! I appreciate it!
I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my town that can Manuel on a bike

GO! Kids TV one thing you should learn is 'don't baby your bike '
Key tip
Your knees and shoulders should be above your seat and have your back leg strait, don't look at the front tire, look strait 👍👍
and you don't learn it in one day
Sage Nolasco if you can get your shoulders below your seat I would be impressed
Second time lve heard to look straight
Ashley Lawrence I meant strait above loll. That sounded dumb
You helped me so much because all my friends always ask me for a game of bike and I say no because do nothing but all your vidios teach me something new and I am better then my friends now

Yeah sorry about that. I am planning on doing it in the future!
Good stuff, looking forward to more tutorials! Also Bike maintenance tips and parts reviews would make for some great content.

Whats the best size frame for manual'ing when you are a short ass 5' 6" ?
I have troubles looping out, im practicing looping out on grass and i can manual 2 feet but i fall on my butt when i loop out i want to learn the save frkm fall i can do it with wheelies but not with manuals
How do you prevent yourself from leaning too far to the right or left? That's pretty much what I'm having trouble with right now
It's all just trial and error of finding that balance point, you just have to keep trying them. Don't get frustrated they aren't easy to learn, but they are a lot of fun once you do!

+allymitch85 nah, you should be good! It will have some benefits over shorter frames too! That stem should help too!
yea when i loop out i used to leave one foot on the pedal and then it would get stuck and i would fall hard haha
Yeah man its no fun at all, those hurt
I keep moving to the side how can I fix that
Can you do a kick out tutorial? Or just give quick tips cause I know it's simple but I'm not doing something right
Sure! I can do one in the future!
I can't really manual or bunny hop while on the pedals. I can only do it on my pegs. Can you tell me what I can do
Make sure your feet are level and get your butt over your back tire
Help me please!!!
I'm 4'11 90 pounds and I have a 20.25" frame and i can't lift the wheel no matter what I do. Is my bike to big or should I just a keep practicing. I've been practicing for over a month now everyday and I just can't do it, please help!!!

Feed Me I had the same problem I'm 5'1 riding a 20.75 and I'm starting to get really good and I learned when I was your height just don't be scared to do tricks and step out of your comfort zone
is it possible to manual while pedaling?
Yeah that is just called a wheelie though
@@AirdBMX oh thx man its just because in have some problems with wheelies so i didn know if it was possible
what if i am 5'2? can i still do manual?
For sure! A lot of pro Street riders are like 5' 4". That actually give you an advantage, you have a lower center of gravity
So I can get into a manual for a few feet but then when the front end drops down and I throw my weight back I still can't save it and even when I get going I keep turning to the right no matter what I try
Just gotta keep trying man, these take a long time to get them down. Just make sure to keep your butt low over your back tire, that's the biggest key
I think my bike is too big. I told my dad that i should buy an 18 inch but no :c i cant keep my front wheel up. Can someone give me some tips how to keep my front wheel up?
im 5'3 and i ride a 20"inch bmx is that bad
+Monkay no some of the best bmx pro's are like 5'4
Aird Bmx ok thank you for the reassurance:D
Aird Bmx my bike is very heavy it is also a cheap Walmart bike. And I'm short 5'3 I've watched over 10 tutorials. Should I just get a new bike or is it possible
Tristan Morton it'll probably be harder since you'll have to lean back more, but its possible
+Tristan Morton
its possible - ive had a Haro & it was the worst bmx ever!
I was doing so good looping out and my feet got stuck to the pedals. Fell flat on my back, It didn't really hurt when it happened but my back has been screwed up for a week now. Seriously tho wear a helmet... It doesnt actually look dumb, and it will stop you from getting brain damaged. Theres really no recovering from that. my problem is that i keep turning to the side
Yo I've been watching u for a while and u explain stuff easier you need to be recognised more
+Rogue Madness thanks man means a lot! Im just trying trying to make how tos that cover every aspect of the trick so its easier to learn for everyone
Aird Bmx ye man just keep getting better tricks to show me and my mate just built a trampoline bike and been barring and whipping and stuff keep at it
Lol my first long distance manual I fell on my back and while riding home a tree hit me in my back😂
i thought it was called a 'wheelie' or am i wrong???
A wheelie is when you are pedaling in a manual
I find it difficult to move my butt
Damn u Manuel low bro I can only do in decently high
the lower you get the easier it is to balance it out
.
i never really learned bmx manuals cos they look so embarrassing, lol. like your humping your bike... i dont wanna b seen doin that ;)
I find it difficult to move my butt
