Wow, an Agents of SHIELD reaction from some one who didn't know that they resurrected Coulson for the show: a rare treat.
Yeah, I knew going into this episode that he was in it, but I didn't know when the show started in relation to the movies. So, I just assumed it was before the The Avengers. I'm so glad I was wrong. :)
@@BritanyBinges1
And someone already so invested in Coulson! I know she's been doing these for a month now but I just started her videos. Gonna be a fun one :).
@@mydavegabicycleI've actually been doing them over on Patreon for several months. I'm nearing the end of season two and still loving the show. :)
@@BritanyBinges woohoo! That's awesome. And even where you are now, it STILL gets better. Glad you fell for the show!!
YESSSSSSS!!!!! One of my all-time favorite shows!!! This is one of those shows that just gets better and better with every new season! The character development in this show is AWESOME! I hope you decide to watch and react to all 7 seasons! Also, as far as Coulson's death...don't worry, answers are coming! 😊
I'm actually in season two over on Patreon and I'm SO HOOKED. :)
@@BritanyBinges Sweeeeeet!!! 😊😊
I agree with all of this. Well said!!
@@BritanyBingesyesssss!!! 🎉🎉
@@BritanyBinges if you can handle scifi, you should think of doing babylon 5! first cgi ship/ special effects series and one of the first with a running plot throughout it's five seasons.
Agents of Shield is still my favorite Marvel tv show ever (Daredevil is a close 2nd) If you stick with this show all the way to the end you will not regret it!
I'm nearing the end of season 2 and I'm definitely not regretting it! :)
The show is amazing, all the seasons are very good though some are better than others. It was the best marvel show.
I loved Agents of Shield! They have some tie-in with the movies for a little while but go off and do their own thing in later seasons. Oh and yes, that was one of the main guys on Angel!
I'm so glad I have amazing people helping me keep the schedule straight so I know what episodes to watch before seeing certain movies (and vice versa). :)
Charles Gunn. Badass vampire killer that joined the team.
Coulson was originally supposed to be dead dead. But the fans threw
a fit and started the #coulsonlives campaign. Marvel was looking for an idea for their 1st tv show and decided to go with the fan demand
Well, in that case, I would like to retroactively thank everyone who participated in the #coulsonlives campaign. lol
Thank you for sharing this information! I was genuinely curious about that.
I do seem to remember that Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers, was unhappy with the decision.
Yes, this is after Iron Man 3, and yes, Extremis (the stuff from that movie) is mentioned as one of the ingredients of the Centipede cocktail.
You're in for a ride. This show goes places.
Season 1 alone was a wild ride. lol
@@BritanyBinges Season 1 originally aired with a lot of breaks between episodes (to line up with the Winter Soldier delay), which made it a slower ride at the time than it is now. A lot of people fell off before it got to the big stuff, unfortunately, which is a major reason why it wasn't as popular as it probably should have been. The momentum of binge watching helps. Marvel without costumed heroes was also a tough sell at the time, when DC had Arrow on the CW.
This show is so incredible, I absolutely love seeing reactions to this show so I hope you decide to continue watching this on RUclips. Again, absolutely awesome show.
I'm definitely continuing with it. (I'm nearing the end of season 2 on Patreon and am loving it.) The feedback here on RUclips has been great so it's highly likely reactions will continue on here as well. :)
@@BritanyBinges Awesome! I'm glad to hear!
This is a 10/10 series, one of my top 5 favorite shows honestly 😭 literally EVERY season just gets better and better, and it’s one of those shows where EVERY main character is the BEST character haha 🙌
Agents of Shield is great. Probably my favorite Marvel property! Glad to hear you're enjoying it!
Yesss other than daredevil this is my fav marvel show ugh so happy your watching it and it answers all your questions and I like the deeper look into Shield with this show. The actress for May the asian woman voiced Mulan in the animated movie and she was in the Mandalorion
I've actually never seen Mulan or the Mandalorian, but that's really interesting!
Thank you for reacting to Agents of Shield. Agents of Shield is my favorite show and this is the first time I'm seeing multiple people reacting to it at the same time. It makes me happy.
I love this show so much. I wasn't sure when I started but by episode 13 I was hooked and I stayed dedicated through to the end of the series 😊
same. for me - episode 6 was first good, then by episode 13 I was hooked
Episode 6 was the one that finally hooked me. It actually surprised me. I didn't realize I cared as much as I did until I watched that episode. lol
@@BritanyBinges FZZT fam!!!
I’m so glad you’re reacting to this show. Your reaction to Coulson being alive was so touching, the best I’ve ever seen.
This show gets infinitely better. Although there are some great episodes before this, things start picking up around Episode 10.
In actuality, the pilot aired around the same time as Iron Man 3. Then the first seven episodes aired before Thor: The Dark World. After that, Episode 8 aired, and the show continued through Episode 16 before Winter Soldier. Episode 17 takes place after Winter Soldier. So aside from watching The Dark World before watching the first seven episodes, you’re getting it in the correct order.
Thank you for the kind words. It was such a pleasant surprise to get him back. I didn't realize how much I had come to like his character in the movies until his demise. lol
Things really started to pick up for me much, much sooner than episode 10. :)
@@BritanyBinges I was devastated when Coulson died. So was the friend I had gone with to see Avengers at the theater. While most people consider one of the superheroes to be their favorite MCU character, Coulson has always been my favorite. That top spot only solidifies as the seasons of AOS progress.
Regarding Coulson's death: It's important to remember that both the show and the Avengers film were written and directed by Joss Whedon. Whatever his faults on a personal level, he is no stranger to planning seasons years in advance including plotlines involving death and resurrection, failure and redemption (eg, Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel).
Whedon began developing the show after Avengers was released, but there's no reason to think he didn't have some ideas while writing the film script. For that matter, the Whedon-written Buffy comics are considered to be cannon, so he may have been planning Coulson one-shots or comics if the film hadn't been as successful as it was.
Woohoo, another AOS reactor! I only know of 2 people consistently reacting to the show right now; I’m excited to add another to the list! Welcome! I saw that you’re pretty far along with the show on Patreon, so I’m glad you’re enjoying it so far 😁
Oh, wow. I would've thought more people would be reacting to it. But, I guess it is an older show so it shouldn't really surprise me.
I don't know who's reacting to it currently, but there are a few who have done the whole series previously. I like the BlindWave team's reaction, but that was from a few years ago.
In any case, it's a great show and I enjoyed your reaction. The first few seasons have a few ties to the MCU, and almost every question you have will be addressed... Eventually.
So glad you enjoyed the reaction! I haven't checked out any of Blind Wave's reactions yet (I've found I typically prefer when it's a solo reactor rather than a group of people), but I've heard great things. :)
which one are you watching?
@@BritanyBinges also "the normies"
super series, no exaggeration! and an excellent combination between the series and the movies that were released at the time. forever turned Kolson into a star!
I was SO glad to see that Coulson was back... in case you couldn't tell by the tears of joy in my eyes. lol He made such an impression in the short time he was in the movies prior to this and I've only come to love him even more now. :)
Oh, Yes ! I definitely want to see more of your reactions for Agents Of Shield ! So, I just subscribed to your channel. Greetings from France. 😊
Glad to have you join us here on the channel! Thanks for the feedback! It's exceeded my expectations so, I'll be bringing more AOS reactions to the channel. :)
I love that the 2 most important things are the 2 things you care about after this episode. The characters and what’s up with Coulson’s death
Well, seeing as you recognised J August Richards, I assume you're familiar with Buffy and Angel.
For what it's worth, Agents of Shield very much has that Mutant Enemy Productions DNA. A bit of a bumpy start but once all the pieces are set on the board, the character interactions are what drive the show.
Writers and actors from Angel and Buffy show up here and there and it shows in things like the dialogue.
Yeah, I was pretty big into Buffy back in the day (I was in middle/high school as it was on tv), and I've done a couple of rewatches in the years since. I watched Angel as it aired, but I haven't seen it since then so I'm really surprised I recognized him.
I really really really hope you keep posting it here! This is one of my favorite shows, if not my number 1.
The feedback and views have exceeded my expectations, So, it's looking good! :)
Coulson could tell a few things about Skye. She's sharp, strong willed, and has major trust issues. He knew trying to force or scare information out of her wouldn't get them anywhere so instead he injected Ward and left him for her to question to show her Coulson was trustworthy and wasn't your average shield agent. I think he could also tell she was a good person and if he could gain her trust she would do the right thing.
Nice reaction. You had several really funny lines too. "Not what I would call a bus." "She's using her assets." and a few others that had me laughing 😅. If you're really into investing in characters, this is a perfect show for you. It has some of the best character development around. This is my top 3 favorite shows of all time. Season One is to really introduce you to the characters, watch them form their team dynamics as they all are learning who each other is as well, and to really launch off towards the end of this season. It really ramps up and becomes such an incredible piece of the MCU. You won't be disappointed! Looking forward to your future reactions of Shield!! I'm sure by 17, you will be invested in the team. 😊
So glad you enjoyed the reaction! It actually didn't take anywhere near all the way to episode 17 to get fully invested in the characters. It happened much, much, sooner. :)
@@BritanyBinges You're quite further along, then. I look forward to watching your reaction to the truth about "Tahiti."
It didn't disappoint. :)
EEEEEE AGENTS OF SHIELD... subscribing for more - please please please keep posting to YT, this is one of my FAVORITE shows.
The feedback has been great so far, so it's looking really good for future reactions. :)
Awesome shows truly. The 1st half of the 1st season is a bit episodic in appearance, but then the rollercoaster ride begins.
Also, yes, the actor who plays Michael Peterson was in Angel, he was a main cast member starting around season 2. Also, the production company that made both Buffy and Angel is the same one that makes this show, Mutant Enemy. So, if you like Buffy, you will like this show.
Yeah, season one was a wild ride. A roller coaster of emotions for sure.
I love Buffy and did watch Angel, but I haven't seen it since it originally aired, so I'm surprised I recognized him at all.
Very few pilots really get me into a show. Lost, The Night Of, Westworld are a few that did. But I enjoyed it for what it was. Gave us the basic introduction of some generic characters, and as the other whedonverse shows, puts them through the wringer. Coming back to this first season though after watching the entire series, it's sweet nostalgia. Fantastic writers on the show! Enjoy the ride!
Yeah, as far as pilots go... It's not the best I've ever seen, but it was solid and certainly not the worst. I've seen through episode 2x19 so far and going back to edit this first one was a trip. Seeing all the hints here at the very beginning of things to come that I didn't know were hints at the time has given me a deeper appreciation for the episode.
@@BritanyBinges So glad you noticed. People don't appreciate how much foreshadowing and world building they were doing with these early episodes. They really did have a reason and a purpose behind everything. Even May's story.
Yeah, and I'm not even two full seasons in. I'm sure there's more foreshadowing to come. :)
One of my favourite reactors reacting to my favourite tv show?? Hypeeee
Thank you so much!!
Glad to hear!!!! Was going to comment that the first half of the season takes the time to lay the groundwork but I guess I don’t need to anymore!
@@BobAndTheBuilders Haha, yeah. I'm way past the groundwork stage. lol But, honestly, I thought season one was packed full of stuff. I found it super entertaining.
Tahiti, it's a magical place.
My favourite show of all time 💚 I love it so much, I can't even describe. From this first episode I was forever hooked. My impression was word for word: it's like a small Avengers film in every episode.
By now you've probably gathered you're in for a treat :)
I'm so happy you're doing this show! My wife and I recently just rewatched seasons 1 and 2, and I had forgotten how much I love it. Now I get to watch you react to it, and man, that reaction to Coulson had me grinning from ear to ear! (By the way, Clark Gregg is an amazing actor, you should check out some of the stuff he did before he signed onto Marvel!)
So glad you enjoyed the reaction!
I'm nearing the end of season two and it's already been fun to go back and edit these first few episodes with what I know now.
I don't think I had ever seen him in anything before starting in the MCU, but I would definitely be interested in checking out other things he's done.
Fuck yes! This show will not disappoint🔥
I'm nearing the end of season two and it hasn't yet. :)
I like that you said that you mainly care about the characters in a show the most and I said, "Then this is the show for you." 😁
Yeah, I'm in season three over on Patreon and I love these characters so much now.
To this day AoS is still my favourite property in the MCU and I hope you end up enjoying it too. You're very right about a TV show having more time to build up investment than films!
I've recorded reactions through episode 2x19 so far and I'm loving it. :)

Seeing a poop with knives instead of a porcupine is a callback to the business cards Cordelia made for Angel, where people couldn't figure out that the logo was an angel. "What's that? A lobster?"
Yes, more AOS reactors, welcome! Glad to read that you've really enjoyed season 1, will enjoy watching the reactions :) I adore the characters in this show.
You mentioned that you've seen the Agent Carter oneshot. Is the Agent Carter show something in your viewpoint to watch at some point?

I plan on watching at the least the pilots for all the spin-off shows and I love her character so I can see giving it a go at some point.
@BritanyBinges that's awesome to hear! There hasn't been an Agent Carter reactor for a while, and even the pilot would be a joy to see :) Personally, I am a big fan of the show, hope you enjoy it when or if you get around to it ♡
@@rodan9769 I'm also a big fan of Agent Carter. I highly recommend it. The shows are in different time periods (obviously), but there are things that are referenced from one show to the next, so it wouldn't be too bad to watch in the order they came out. As I recall, Agent Carter season 1 came out during AoS season 2. Agent Cart only had 2 seasons - 8 eps and 10 eps each. You'll enjoy it!

One of the best marvel shows, first season is actually one of the worst because it starts out slow, but after episode 16 it picks up speed and keeps it up until at least season 4.
I actually ended up loving the first season and it didn't take too many episodes for me to get hooked. :)
Yes! Agents of Shield is my favorite show! I also think its the best Marvel show.
I think why some people have trouble getting into it in the first season (I know you said you really enjoyed s1 as did I) is because there is so much world building in the beginning and AoS is such a character focused/based series, and some people want for action I guess, even though this has plenty of action I think.
I'm so glad you got hooked, I saw you said you were through 2x19 (probably even more now)!

Welcome to the Whedonverse. It's a wild ride.
5:49 I loved your reaction to Coulson still being alive...especially when you knew Clark Gregg was gonna be in the show. I got tears in MY eyes too when this first aired. I knew you were going to be confused, when you told us that Coulson was going to be in the show "so I have an idea of the timeline". Obviously you thought it would have been taking place before the battle of New York. :) I have always loved Coulson's calm a cool demeanor.

@@ChrisReise I did for seasons 1 and 2 (I watched Winter Soldier between episodes 1x16 and 1x17, and Age of Ultron between episodes 2x19 and 2x20). I was told that, after that, they didn't really directly tie in with the movies so I could just keep going with both the movies and the show.
I'm in the middle of season three now, and have seen all of the Infinity Saga.
My patrons are having me go through the X-Men movies now since as I guess they will tie in to future Marvel content somehow (they've been good to not spoil any of that).
Good luck with the timeline of the "X-Men" franchise. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to chronology and timelines, and tie-ins and the "X-Men" franchise STILL has me confused. LOL@@BritanyBinges

Glad to have you along for the ride! :)
I'm amused by your reaction to Ward, especially. I just started watching this series this year so I'm only up to Season 5, but one of my recurring thoughts has been "I wish I found Ward as interesting as they seem to want me to." Not to say I think he's awful, just that I don't find him nearly as appealing as I think I'm supposed to.
Yeah, I was definitely that way in the beginning, but he won me over fairly quickly b/c of how the tension developed so quickly between him and Skye. However, now that I've seen through episode 2x19, I have a lot of mixed feelings about what they've done with his character. :-/
@@BritanyBinges There have been some highs and lows with his storyline, I think. And sometimes he is more interesting to me, just ... not always.
Ooh I hope you are able to watch all the seasons, the first one is kinda rough but trust me the other 6 are AMAZING it’s one hell of a ride
I actually ended up really loving this first season. So, I'm excited to see how the rest go. :)

Thank you to your patreon fans for recommending this show before TWS! The payoff will be that much more, for both movies when tou know the context for both
Yeah, they had me watch TWS between episodes 1x16 and 1x17 and episode 2x19 before getting to Age of Ultron and I'm so thankful they did! It really helped make it a better experience for both the movies and the show.
As far as the movies are concerned, Coulson is still dead.
Nonetheless, this show is awesome. I wish I could see it for the first time again.
does she have a photo with the immortal Jensen Ackles? only thinkkg that have changed with him is he added more muscle mass, other than that, he look the same as he did in Dark Angel s02 2001 lol.
I was going to write that Agents of Shields are in the MCU now, was confirmed a while ago, even there are some deniers out there, flat earthers and moon land deniers and such lol, but got distracted by the immortal person
I do! :) I've changed around what's on my shelves now (this reaction was recorded a few months ago) and there are actually two photos of me and Jensen behind me now. I have a third one with both him and Jared, but a friend of mine is in the picture with me and I want to respect her privacy so it's not in view of the camera.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
He is Charles Gunn (2 'N's) from Angel yes
I’m just guessing that if Whedon was in charge of The Avengers and Agents Of SHIELD then Coulson was probably killed in the movie to set up the series.
Either way, both were effective. lol His death surprised me with how much it got to me in The Avengers and his reveal at the start of AOS obviously got to me as well.
@@BritanyBinges
I saw another comment that said the higher ups demanded Coulson die in Avengers and Whedon wasn’t happy with that. Odd given his tendency to kill off beloved characters and twist the knife.
But the series gave him an opportunity to use that and undo that travesty.
To know the "truth" about Agent Coulson, you need at least clearance level 9 if not 10. You don't have that level of clearance, so you may never know. Sorry. 😁
Best written 5 season, 22 episode series of all-time imo. Ties directly to the MCU & is superior to anything in Phase 4. Looking forward to your reactions 👍😎

It gets better and better and better and there is no Marvel series currently that seems to be catching on and i have watched all of them...... Honest opinion, other Marvel TV show fans shouldn't kill me for this 😂, but yeah, they are not catching on.
There was a moment while I was still in season one that I mentioned on the Discord for the channel that it was my favorite tv show I was currently reacting to. Sooo, it's safe to say I'm very much enjoying it. lol
@@BritanyBinges You will love it more as the show progresses, read an article once and they called the AoS fans a cult movement. 😂
Well, in that case, I guess I'm officially a cult member now. lol
@@BritanyBinges 😂😂👌🏾
The first season is a slow start but it gets better every season.
I liked the show from the beginning but I really like it with episode 1x6 and was so hooked well before the end of the first season.
I was lukewarm on AoS. I enjoyed the 1st couple seasons but gradually lost interest until I eventually stopped watching. Nonetheless lots of people love the show and hopefully you'll be one of them.
"Mike" was 'Gunn' on Angel. He's also popped up in a few other TV roles.
I'm nearing the end of season two, and I've been loving it. So, hopefully that keeps up. :)
If you're into the mix of sci-fi and crime, you will love Fringe. You won't care about the characters until episode 4, though.
I actually watched Fringe when it was originally on TV. I never did finish it, though. Life just got in the way so I fell behind and just never went back to it. :-/
Yes. Love this show. My personal favorite. I know you're going to love it, but I won't say anything about it that will spoil it.
Only thing I will tell you is behind-the-scenes related. Is this show canon? Officially, yes, however there is some question about that. When it began, it was declared as canon and Marvel/Disney has never retracted that so officially it's still canon. However, midway through its run Feige stopped caring about it and kind of told them they didn't have to be tied to any of the movies anymore, so that caused some people to wonder if it's no longer considered canon. But until they say otherwise, it does qualify as canon.
Thanks for this (and for being mindful of spoilers)! I didn't realize there was a debate about whether or not it was cannon. This explains why I was told that I didn't really need to worry about movie tie-ins after season two, though.
@@BritanyBinges NO NO NO!!! nThere are still many references to the movies after S2. You can enjoy the show without the movies, but it means so much more when you are familiar with the names, faces, and topics that are mentioned in the moves cuz the show does reference them. I watched AOS before I saw the movies and did not know what some of the references were about... It all made since when I went back and rewatched the episodes in order with the movies.
There is a lot of setup that takes place in the first few episodes. Pay really close attention to all of the exposition. Take notes if you can.
Thanks for this suggestion! However, I don't take notes when I watch a show because not only would it distract me as I'm watching, but I always find this incredibly frustrating as a reaction viewer because they inevitably miss things.
That said, I've recorded reactions through episode 2x19 so far. So, I'm well past this point. :)
@@BritanyBinges good stuff. Looking forward to seeing your future reactions as you post them
@@MattPerk7 Episode 4 will be posted this weekend! :)
I dropped this show around episode 3, it was super mid. Then I heard something, picked it back up, and it turns out I was only around 3 episodes away from greatness.
Yeah, episode six is the one that made me realized I was finally fully into it. lol
@@BritanyBinges I feel like that's what it was always meant to be, but they had to set up a "normal" to be disrupted.
Hello 👋. Excellent choice. Best MCU series. I hope you stick with the show please, stars a bit slo😢 but it gets way better around episode 14 and beyond. Agents of Shield is canon👍.
I'm definitely sticking with it. :) I'm actually nearing the end of season 2 and it didn't take me nearly all the way to episode 14 to get hooked. :)
No, no. You're right. Its Gun from Angel.
Do you have a marvel movies reaction playlist? I can't seem to find it
For right now there are only full reactions on Patreon. But, in July or August, they're going to start being released here on RUclips. I'll most likely be starting a second channel just for movie reactions and keep this one just tv shows going forward.
@@BritanyBinges oh okay, yes I'd love to see the edited reaction videos for those movies! 👍🏻
Wait till you see Ward shirtless haha
Oh, don't worry... Ward won me over... just in time to rip my heart out. Season 1 was an emotional roller coaster. lol
@@BritanyBinges I never understood the dislike for the show. It had its low points but overall - great ride. It gets much better after S1!
I honestly LOVED season 1 (and have been loving season two as well), so I'm all here for it getting even better. :)
The start of s1 was a rough for me so I think I skipped a few eps lol. It’s really good though.
Admittedly, it did take me a few episodes to really get into it, but not too long. I was fully invested in the characters before I reached the middle of the first season. It was worth sticking it out. :)
You should do a rewatch. After finishing S7, go back and watch ALL of S1 again. It will mean so much more to you... all the little things you missed that you didn't realize were important at the time... little queues about each character and plot lines to come.... The writers were way ahead and setting the groundwork for the amazing future episodes.
Someone new reacting to Agents of Shield 😍 🩷
You’re going to be VERY popular haha
Haha! Sounds good to me. :)
