I wish I could still be that naïve little shipper girl who got so excited every time Skye Ward and even glanced at each other. lol
Ah yes Raina... very fun character I love what this show does with her
The first clue we get that Skye was on the up and up is the first thing she said to Miles was to ask him who he gave the list to. Did she want to protect Miles? Yes, but she was trying to get the info they were after.
Fun fact: In a deleted scene from the pilot episode we see the doctor who worked for Centipede being killed off. Clearly the writers thought the same as you and decided to bring her back for one more episode, and then kill her off.
Oh, wow! I didn't know about. It seemed a little odd to bring her back just to kill her off, but I think I would've been disappointed if it had happened in the pilot.
@@BritanyBinges The doctor's death (as originally presented) pretty much comes out of nowhere, and I think that the scene was only there in the pilot in order to set up the bigger mystery with Centipede. At least here the doctor is given a little bit more to do and the circumstances of her demise, being left to fend for herself (at the mercy of Scorch) by Raina gives the character a nice bit of a comeuppance - she did treat him like a disposable lab sample - and it illustrates to the audience just how ruthless Raina is when things go south.
I think it's good that they brought the doctor back even for just this short bit, since it helps tie the previous story to here - "It's all related! Not only is this centipede, it's the same doctor!"
I've got to hand it to the writers, the line near the end where Ward says 'you can't save someone from themselves' and Coulson replies 'you can if you get to them early enough' really hits different after seeing the end of this season, huh? So many of the little things work so well. I don't know where you were up to when you did the editing for this one, but I imagine you're catching so many things that they planted way back at the start of the show. Especially Ward and Skye's backstories/where they are now compared to the episodes you're watching right now.
I feel like being a season ahead of yourself (watching vs. editing) must be giving you a really cool view of the show.
P.S. the doctor is also just Lindsey for me, too. I don't believe I've seen her in anything but this and the O.C.
I just edited this video last night, so I'm still at episode 2x19. But, it is wild to go back and edit these now. Seeing all the hints that have been there since the very first episode are making me appreciate the show even more.
What's funny about the timing of this reaction and your comment is that my husband and I are doing our annual The O.C. rewatch and we just got to Lindsay's introduction episode last night. lol

The fact you're deep into season 2 on the Patreon is encouraging. I loved this series from the start and never understood why people thought it has a "slow start". I watched it as it was airing back in the day and was always excited for it.
Yeah, I don't really get it either. I absolutely ended up loving season one.
This is actually one of my least favorite episodes in the series (and I still liked it, it's a great series) but the moment where Skye reveals her secret hits me hard every time. It has such raw power behind it.

Raina was such an interesting recurring character. The actress also had a bit in the ‘Warcraft’ movie as the queen of Stormwind.
I've never heard of that movie.
@@BritanyBinges It was a 2016 movie, based upon the 1990's Warcraft realtime strategy game that eventually lead to the World of Warcraft MMORPG that I've been playing for 18 years. Orcs flee their dying world through a magic portal to a new world with human in it, and the conflict starts, but a few heroes on both sides work together against the true evil. Visually, the movie was perfect. They changed some plot points, to make for a happier standalone movie, I think.
Yes! Another AoS reaction. This episode is not my favorite from this season, but the next one is simply amazing
I’ve actually always really liked this episode, one of my favorites from season 1. But I think that’s just cause I love Raina, and I love Skye’s conversations with Coulson.
The next one is the one that made it clear to me that I was finally fully invested in the show. I'm so to edit/release it. :)
@@BritanyBinges I've always said give it to episode 6 and you'll be hooked. That's when it really hits its stride and begins to gain momentum.
Remember the centipede syrum is not good for mental stability.
