Hill's clue to May was that Fury buried the intel on TAHITI when he didn't bury Coulson. Hence May figuring out it must be in Coulson's grave.
Iain's breakdown as Fitz is so hard to see when they find out about Ward. Such a great actor.
This show just moves faster than most, which is one of its greatest strengths. They don't dangle many carrots for seasons on end. Oftentimes, there will be a big mystery other shows will milk forever, whereas the same level will be revealed in an episode or two (and in a satisfying way) and open up a bigger mystery. The pace is so good in this show.
Ward is a really really interesting character. They wrote him and his backstory really well. Love your suspicions and theories, right or wrong ;).
That makes sense about the grave. I definitely didn't pick up on that the first time around.
The pacing on this show was definitely something I had to get used to. Honestly, I'm season 4 now over on Patreon and it still sometimes surprises me. lol
We as a fandom were truly all betrayed by Ward, I've never been more hurt at a fictional betrayal 😭 Fitz's reaction to it is lowkey the most heartbreaking imo because it's exactly how a lot of fans felt about it. Fitz's actor, Iain de Caestecker was also very heartbroken by the Ward reveal. I think even a year later, he still got teary when people brought it up in interviews. If you haven't yet, you should look up the whole cast's reactions to the news, it's priceless 😂 It hurt at the time, but I appreciate that they didn't have Skye be swayed by Ward saying his feelings were real, his reaction to her rejection says a lot about who he really is
This is around the time most people are questioning if Ward is really loyal to Hydra or just to Garrett and if he’s therefore a N*zi, but for me personally it doesn’t make much of a difference. It’s like the old saying of “if there’s 9 “normal” people and 1 N*zi sitting at a table talking, then you have a table of 10 N*zis” where if they’re fine aligning themselves with them then they are Hydra. I guess you could argue degrees of bad, but idk. Just my take on it. Loving the reactions
Love this episode, the reveal is great. I love how we see all the characters react differently to the betrayal. Ward is written perfectly to be a narcissist and manipulator, I've known people like that, how he acts in that conversation on the plane with Skye is like watching a memory. Endless applause for the writers.
Yeah, I love that the writers really took the time to think about how all these different characters would respond to this situation individually rather than just having them all collectively be in shock and then angry. It makes it feel so much more real.
And, yeah, they've done a great job with Ward as well and Brett is really pulling off the range of things they're having him do.
Your reaction to (pre-Loki stabbing) Coulson's final TAHITI briefing to Fury got me good. I think that you may be the few reactors who gets the horrific and tragic irony of Coulson being subjected to the same treatments (GH-325 and subsequent brain surgery) that he saw his fellow SHIELD agents undergo; treatments Coulson implored Fury to never do again.
It felt like a punch to the gut hearing him say all that knowing they literally did it to him. I mean ... I'm selfishly grateful they did, but ugh. I just felt so bad for him.
Oh, how I love Maria Hill. In the base when Coulson tells her about Ward, 7:35 she is ready to Rock and Roll. Such a great character.
And really fantastic acting in this episode by a lot of the actors.

Yeah, the acting in this show is phenomenal. Iain/Fitz especially gets to me. When he gets emotional, I just can't help but get emotional as well.

When May asked Maria Hill who ran the Tahiti project, Hill told May "He (Fury) buried it with Coulson." Phil isn't really dead, so it wasn't a metaphor, he was literally burying the information with Coulson. Hence why May was digging up Phil Coulson's grave for the information.

Sorry to hear about the copyright issues. I have been trying to encourage reactors to get together and create a petition to have legislators amend the Copyright laws it create a carve out for Reaction and Let's Plays as specifically named as protected under fair use so that videos like this are no longer subject to copy right strikes. If you guys create the petition, we will sign it. and write to our legislators to propose the amendment.
Yeah, it's a nice idea but I just don't see it really going in our favor ... not with the amount of money the studios can throw at it. I do wish RUclips would do a little more to support their content creators, though, since they wouldn't have a platform to sell ads on if it weren't for us. But, I don't see that changing either. :-/
@BritanyBinges you are only doomed to fail if you never try. There are 100's of thousands of people who watch and love reaction and let's play videos. Copy riggt laws do get amended from time to time as technology changes, so it isn't that much of a stretch. Let's plays and reactions videos are still new, so the law hasn't caught up with them. That makes now a perfect time to amend the law, get a caeve out that would spell out what is, and isn't permissible, make your lives easier.
RUclips won't work with content creators to defend legit fair use because that would require paying someone to actually review the videos, why do that when an algorithm that gets it wrong 75% of the time is essentially free?
When will RUclips learn that these reactors are giving free advertising to these shows? I'v bought an entire series just on the nostalgia of a reactor's reaction.
Movies and TV shows should be treated like Games.
At the very least RUclips should allow Reactors to pay the Copyright fee of $2 or whatever the cost is to rent the movie or TV show.
You can rent the movie or TV show, but other people have to be in your home to watch the other person's reaction? They can't watch through RUclips as a medium, makes no sense.
@LezArtist5iG it's not RUclips. That is the real issue. It is the idiot CEO's of the companies that own the copyright to those shows that create the problem. Like how they put limits on streaming services to only show the current episode plus the 4 trailing episodes, and only a weak after it is broadcast on air. I stopped watching more than 1 show because I got behind and could no longer get caught up because an episode or 2 that I needed to see was no longer available to stream. That is lost revenue, but CEO's are all people who failed up to that position.
I knew we'd get Maria Hill in one of these last few episodes. I didn't recall too many details from this episode. Skye calling Ward a Nazi to his face. The skydiving in a car part.. Skye's hair was a glorious mess after that! Talbot... no, I'm not going to say anything about him. Fitz really took the reveal hard.
I'm in season 4 over on Patreon so I'm definitely more familiar with Talbot now. I had actually forgotten he showed up this early until I edited this video.

RUclips veers between super crackdown! mode and meh... to hell with it mode. If they stuck to one or the other it would make things so much easier for reviewers on here.
We are, to use an old phrase, cooking with gas here. The season is closing with the stakes increasingly higher and the emotional tension larger. This is such a great show with such great actors and writing.
Yeah, it doesn't help that as soon as a reactor finds an editing style that seems to work, they change something on the backend and it's like a puzzle where we need to start tweaking things until we find a new style that works. Thanks for being so understanding!
@@BritanyBinges I know folks who are professional editors on here and they struggle with it as well. I don't think RUclips even understands what RUclips is trying to do. But keep making your great content!

It is so great: The writers not wasting time in revealing Ward is HYDRA to the entire team, Skye’s message to them, Skye’s “honest conversation” with Ward, Fitz’s over reaction to Jemma’s report, Deathlok’s return, Ward trying to justify his actions & emotions to Sky, Maria Hill’s rerun, Deathlok almost killing Ward & Garrett correctly guessing Skye would not let him die, Coulson infiltration & escape from the plane in Lola, the quiet “vacation” moments at the motel and, finally, the reveal that Coulson was not only in charge of TAHITI but also wanted it shut down and never used again...!!! Every single scene in this episode is LOADED with great and important moments._*

Yeah, this really is a great episode for a lot of reasons. They packed so much into this one episode. Most other shows would've definitely drug all of these things out across multiple episodes.
Ward is a fantastic character and underrated from wide audiance that dont watch this show, he is soo many sided.
Everyone's great in this one I think (Skye basically describing Ward to his face in the diner is fantastic) and even after the Hydra twist, they're somehow still finding ways to surprise us. Also, Hill !
(Iain De Caestecker does an excellent job in the episode too but i'd seen him in the UK show "The Fades" - co-starring a young Daniel Kaluuya - a few years before so already knew he had the chops)

Coulson being in charge of Project TAHITI was best case scenario. Unfortunately for this crew, not much more good luck going forward.

@@BritanyBinges You're welcome. Despite RUclips not allowing for the creation of reactor groups. You have a strong community of female reactors. Sesskasays reverses the image, so everything is transposed. DakaraJayne will add an overlay or blur certain scenes and definitely has to mute the audio of every song. Ellierose reacts will reverse the image and blur certain parts. Carmen Young has had to mute audio and add custom closed captions on the screen.
I have 20 more names of reactors and the lengths they go through to post stuff. So never apologize to any commenter for doing what's nesesary to post reactions. 😀
Granted I've seen the AoS series eight times. So you can put a stronger overlay like, Shelley reacts, and I'd still like and comment. Although Sesskasays has finished AoS, so if you wanted to see one of her edits, I'd suggest you check out what reversing the image looks like.

@@LezArtist5iG Thanks for this! I watch all of those reactors (well, I've only see a few of Ellierose's reactions, but I've watched all of the Supernatural reactions from the others you mentioned. Dakara is the reason I even have this channel.). :)
I actually do/have done all of the things you mentioned. lol I reverse the image, add custom captions, mute as much of the music as possible, blur every 4.5 seconds of video (or now do the text overlay instead), don't have the audio going for more than 8-10 seconds without cutting something out, have audio with no video as much as I can, etc. and the videos still get blocked or demonetized (not so much with AOS but it's pretty much every episode of Doctor Who).
@@BritanyBinges No problem. Although I'm sorry to hear that the rules are being unjustly centered on your channel. To be fair, most channels that aren't in the big three(EST, CST, PST) have had tons of problems with copyright strikes. So being in Mountain Time is a disadvantage.
Still wish that all reactors could just add a Fair Use warning at intro, then a timer, and never have copyright issues ever again. Oh well.
Fun Fact: DakaraJayne got her channel name from Stargate SG1. Where the Temple of Dakara was the center of the Ancients foothold in our Galaxy and she wanted her channel to be the center of everyone's entertainment.

I love that what makes Skye the most sick over Ward's betrayal is that he really does care about her. That is what makes her stomach turn.
I love this show and it's character growth. At this point in the show: I didn't like Skye until that great scene in the diner with Ward, she was awesome. I also didn't like Fitz, as I found him annoying as hell. May and Trip are my favorite characters at this moment too. Love to know what were your Top 10 characters at the end of S1? ✌️😎

It's been about nine months since I finished season 1 so I don't know that I could do a top 10 list, but Coulson and Skye were definitely my favorites in this season and May was definitely my least favorite (until the Ward reveal, anyway. lol).

@BritanyBinges it is. It's a sci-fi show that was just released on Netflix. By the same people who did GoT. It's based on a trilogy by Cixin Liu, a Chinese science fiction author. 3 Body Problem is the title of the 1st book. The 1st episode or 2 are a little slow, but it really picks up once the characters are all fully introduced. It's really good, and there will be a few scenes that will blow your mind.
Don't forget that Coulson isn't the only one who's gone through the Tahiti protocol. Skye did too. 😱
