From here on out, it feels like every episode has at least one "You've got to be kidding me!!!" moment. Love this series.
Coulson’s speech in this episode still gives me chills to this day.
I love it when he gets fired up! Those moments and the heartfelt ones with the team are where he shines for me.

Ward, Raina, and Garrett. Some very charismatic villains.
Eventually you'll grow out of the denial and just accept that Ward is Hydra. Eventually. Right now it is a punch to the gut.
It took me a while. It took me even longer to accept that we weren't getting a redemption arc of some kind. I'm season 4 now and still a little bitter about it. :(
A lot of fans, Skyeward shippers especially, were holding out hope that he wasn't really Hydra, but this episode pretty much crushed that. The betrayal still stings even a decade later, it's that well done. Also, Ward did get hotter after the reveal, it's just a fact 😂 I believe in the beginning, they didn't allow anyone to have facial hair because of network regulations. That restriction got lifted at some point, as you'll probably notice
I held out hope for far too long and was exhausted from doing all those mental gymnastics to try and find a way for it to all work out for them. :-/
You were so mad at Ward that you didn't react to Garrett's joke. That they were going to raid the Fridge.
The writers must have had that joke planned waaaay ahead of time.
To be fair, it probably would've only gotten a small chuckle. I'm not a really a fan of cheesy jokes.
"At least they're not nazis" has been a bar that we've had to celebrate increasingly often IRL in recent years.
Unfortunately, that statement has proven to be less and less true as time goes on.
@coladict Unfortunately, that's incredibly true. Even more unfortunately, sometimes that bar still isn't reached these days.
They did not tell the actor playing Grant Ward that he was hydra until that episode, to prevent him from perhaps act suspiciously or whatever, but it made his perforamce as a good character even better

May might be a better fighter than Coulson but you underestimate him at your own peril and May knows this.
Also you're not the only one who couldn't accept the Ward betrayal.
A lot of female fans at the time refused to accept it.
There was a big hashtag campaign on twitter for weeks to get the writers to undo it.
I mean true but I still know who i'd be putting my money on. Pretty sure May doesn't hesitate because she doubts she can take him but because she knows that'd be the _unequivocal_ end of their friendship (Coulson's good at many things but y'know, May is May).

Yeah, I agree with @anonymes2884 ... If I had to place a bet on a fight between the two of them, I would have to pick May. Although, his hand that comes into play later on does make things a little more interesting.

Yeah, mine was closer to the reaction of Fitz when he finds out...and stayed that way. Not so much the denial and rationalization he had after. I was in the "someone needs to kill him...slowly" camp.
