Oh how cool the way Mom watches over baby Russell...so adorable 😍 💕 and Skeeter just having fun wants to play with the newbie on the block 😂
Happy Birthday Sweet Angel 🎉😇❤🎈🎈🎈🎈🎂🎁
Fun to see Russel and Skitter playing they got along well. He did good on the leash for the first time. Keep Smiling. Safe Safe (from the storm). God Bless Y'all And The Farm. ❤🙏
The Mojo voiceover is hilarious! 😂 Little Russell is adorable with his lamb face ❤
Russell has gotten so big!! He’s so cute!! I love the way you talk to Mojo🤣my kids think I’m crazy because I talk to my Shitzu like that too and we sing and dance and just have lots of fun 😂 russell.. of course he didn’t want to do what you asked him to do or listen to you while Your recording isn’t that how it always goes🤣! I love to watch you and your Beautiful family y’all are my favorite farm family on the Internet. Lord people complain about everything! I think all your videos are great! I swear people I wish that’s all I had to do was complain to you about “motion sickness” from the camera moving 🙄Everyone is so easily offended over everything and they complain about everything too🙄That’s probably why I don’t have a page I couldn’t deal with all of critics that have no clue what it’s like! I’ve noticed that the people and families that I follow have really been talking about bully’s and then people are always complaining but where’s their page 🤣 insurance is such a racket!! My car Ins went up 18% at the beginning of the year and I’ve not had a ticket or claim in 20 years and I’m old! Of course Arkansas got
Hit with a big increase this year and I’m not happy about it I’ve been with the same agent for 35 plus years I’m actually looking for insurance because I’m not paying it!! Just ridiculous! I hope y’all have had a great week! Look forward to the next video! Y’all stay safe❤
Enjoyed your video and seeing the animals ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Russel did a great job with the leash training ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lolololol Russel is so cute and SO HUNGRY!!! He says he is SO hungry he could eat a whole bison! Lol😂
Love watching Skeeter play with Russell. So cute. He's so fast. Energizer bunny.... LOL
Russel is growing up so fast❤he’s gorgeous. All your animals have great character 😊 thank you for sharing your day❤ I hope the storms doesn’t damage the farm take care ❤
You look spectacular in baby blue❤❤❤ Kevin!!!
Skeeter is Russell's fitness trainer 😁😁😁🥰🥰🥰 UK
OMG Russel is growing so fast! He's such a stunning dog! But I have to say MR Smeegle is my favourite if only he could talk 😂😂😂
Russell's big , it will take a while for him to get use to the leash, he's not bad though Kevin, your doing great Kevin 👍 and as Mojos goes he's the best, one of the kindest dogs/animal on your farm and it's lovely to see ❤ my word Russell's very vocal this morning and hungry 😅 yes Kevin he's a good dog 😅
You’re grandpa! 😂❤ Russell is so adorable
Cora said no Mojo today. Skeeter is on fire! 🎉❤😅
Russel will eventually get use to the leash I think he loved playing with Skitter that will be his little treat to go on a leash. It was so sweet as if he was saying, " help mother I am being pulled by the neck". Its fun watching you feed the animals and all the other interaction. Skitter is very responsive to your commands, very clever sweet little dog. UK.
Russell is growing like a weed! He's gonna be a big boy! I just love his colors. If I may make a suggestion I finally learned after my 3rd puppy. Puppies seem to do better on a harness I think because it clips between their shoulder blades so instead of pulling on them they seem to do better in my opinion on the harnesses! Skeeter is such a good boy and just seems to go with the flow with the animals. He's a fast boy and thats sometimes a good thing!😂❤❤❤
Hey hey Kevin 👋👋👋
When I did my dogs.. put the leash on and just let him run around with it to get used to it .. then u can start to walk him .. really is a good idea to leash train .. now Skeeter will follow u. And he follows Skeeter. LoL so walk to mojo he'll pick it up .. good luck prayers for U in the storm ... Y'all stay safe, stay healthy, stay positive always make it fun Love from Tucson Arizona 💗🦎🌵🌻🦉👩🌾🌵🦎💗
That was fun watching you try to train Russell and how fast Skeeter is . Stay safe from the storms. ❇️💞❇️
Bringing favorite treats, I would give a treat to start ,if he follows give 1 small treat. No walking , no treat. If he do not walk, keep treat in your hand ,don't let him see it but let him smell, then walk a few feet and wait if he don't walk. If he likes his treats he will come a few feet to you. He should get the hang of it pretty quick. They are so smart. You already know that, you have had you beautiful dogs so long. Even when he starts to walk , make a game out-of it and start to run a little., he might think it's a game. Kevin only offered advice because you asked. I never overstep my boundaries because these are all your animals and nobody knows them like you and Rachael.
Love your show, it makes me so happy everytime I see a new video. KEVIN JUST A QUESTION. HOW DO YOU WORK ALL DAY AND COME HOME AND TAKE CARE OF ALL THOSE PRECIOUS ANIMALS NEEDS. TAKE CARE GUYS, HI TO THE KIDS.
Train on an empty stomach! Use his kibble and treat treat treat! Command to sit, treat then put on the leash immediately treat. Keep his attention focused on you while you hold the treat low and walk enticing him to walk towards the treat as you walk, give him the treat after a few steps and repeat repeat repeat. When talking to him hold a treat up to your face and reward when he looks at you. It teaches focus on you and makes him eager to follow commands. Multiple short sessions daily.
You need to get him some special treats, the little tiny yummy ones they all love and when he comes you give him some. They love their stomachs at that age. He’s a smart one, he will learn.
So good to see you. I have been worried about your family and all the animals. I am aware the weather has been bad. I did not
want to see any of your animals that was lost to the storms. Please, Please post if this ever happens. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌺🌺🙏🙏💕💕🙏🙏🙏
Great first lessons for Russell! 🙂 I was thinking that you could pick him up and carry him to the front yard to train and have Mojo get used to him, etc. After "sit" you can train him to come when using the leash. Say his name first to get his attention, then tell him to "come". Start with very short distances and gradually go backwards the length of the leash. When he comes straight to you, then reward him with a little bit of a treat. He looked so great playing with Skeeter. You could tell how much Skeeter was having. 🙂
Emus equals silly chickens 😂😂😂
God Bless and Stay Safe 🙏❤🙌
Leash training probably needs to be done for a short time everyday and try not to take the leash off when they're pulling and complaining or they'll pull and complain just to get you to remove it. I can't wait to see Russell meet Mojo! It was fun to watch him play with Skeeter! Good luck with the weather!
Hi there! Things look like they're a lot of fun these days. I am looking forward to him meeting Mojo!
As far as *leash training* goes, I do have a few suggestions. I've had dogs for years (city/house dogs despite being 80lbs and 65lbs as our current ones are.) and my daughter actually trains them now. Here's what I/we recommend: Get some *dehydrated beef liver* (or chicken, lamb, etc - anything high value that he'll love. I've never had a dog that didn't love dehydrated liver treats!) and break them into small pieces. Any *high value treat* will do, but the dehydrated ones are nutritious as opposed to milk bones, which are kind of like candy. You are looking for treats that have one or two ingredients.... the more ingredients, the less nutrition, typically.
*First rule of training is it has to be fun and you always end on a positive* . With a pup that age, it's best to do *many short training sessions* a day as opposed to long ones. Literally start with 2-3 minutes and build up from there. If you have to put Skeeter-bug up as less of a distraction, then like I say, it'll only be for a few minutes at a time.
Start with getting him to *sit on the leash* and then give him a treat. Once he sees that putting the leash on will get him a treat, you pretty much have his attention. Have him *walk a few steps* on the leash, have him *sit* and give him a *treat. Lots of encouragement, praise and physical touch along with the treat* as a reward. Then take a few more steps on the leash (letting him see the treat the whole time), have him sit and then give him the treat.
Just keep doing this. If he is only able to take 4 steps and then starts to squirm, show him the treat and get him to take a few more and then stop, he sits and then he gets one or two. You *always want to end on your terms* so as long as he can make the connection in his brain that walking will get him one and squirming doesn't, that's what you want. Don't stop and give him a treat while squirming. Just wave the treat in front of his nose, get his attention, have him take a couple more steps, sit and then reward him.
Doing this several times a day is key, *keep sessions short , end on a positive* and give him *lots of praise* and make it *fun* . Before you know it, the sight of the leash will get him excited. As he improves, do more positive reinforcement than treats and then you can wean them off the treat completely, if you want to. This will take a few weeks. Once he learns the leash, then you should do it every few days for fun so he remembers it.
I can pretty much guarantee that this will work. The treats have to be nummy and you need several of them, so that is why you want good, high value treats so he's not getting lots of junk food, haha. *Make sure he can see the treat* as you ask him to walk with you. If you have any questions, maybe do a video on it and then I can let you know if I see anything that you can tweak to get better results.
Good luck and have fun!!! He's a smart boy... he'll pick it up quickly. I hope this helps!

Hi Kevin and Rachel,👋👋👋👋👋👋
Hiya Kevin..I'm glad you are aware of the storms coming..I'm glad you n family are safe..stay safe..
I am amazed at how Cora cares for her babies. And this is her first litter. I’m jealous of her mothering skills. Lol
Wow every time I see little man . he's getting bigger 😭 So Very Cute 🥰
Oh my goodness ,Russel is the cutest little puppy or should I say big tall puppy ♥️, I love his new collar it suits him , aw I remember those puppy and lead battles bless him love his little noises he makes
Training always takes time he will get there .. Russel is a super beautiful looking dog ❤
It's so cute with skitter and Russ playing.
You made me happy about leash training! ALL dogs should be leash AND car trained. Recall “come” too.
yep basics, it's obedience training as well. Rachel will train him to heel, no doubt.
We keep the lead short so thet walk in a heal position directly next to you. Its much easier to control them with the lead in top of their neck, not around the bottom. We also keep our instructions to 1 word commands. Russell Come. Russell Heal, Russell down, Tissell sit, Russell fetch, etc.. They don't understand sentences. Just short commands repeated with a reward
Slow but steady 👍
Insurance made us made on time too. We had roof damage from a storm too. They wouldn’t replace but half our roof.
When I leash train puppies I let them drag a leash, ALWAYS supervised. Like when you let Russell and skeeter play. Just drop the leash and let him drag it. They learn pretty quickly that the leash will not hurt them. They also learn some boundaries because they will step on it and pull themselves up short. But that has always worked to take away the fear of the leash. I don’t initially worry about them holding the leash however I never let them chew the leash.
Look at those paws 😻 so big 😂❤
Can I also suggest crate training....ONLY because if a dog isn't used to going in a crate, any major vet visit where they have to be caged is extremely stressful for them.
Leading and cage training is just to make their older life less stressful.
He is the most adorable puppy. So glad you kept him. He is actually growing like a weed...doubles every night , lol ! His feet have taken off....they are dinner plates now !
It's great to see Russell and Smeegle having so much fun together! That should happen more often, so that Russell is well socialized to the other animals (like the chickens and donkeys and Mojo).
As far as leash training, it was pretty easy for me to train my dogs, but I live in an urban area. Dogs love to walk and explore things, so my dogs learned pretty quickly that the leash meant they could explore a part of our neighborhood. I think in your case, you'll have to let him think he is in control, so that he'll tolerate the leash, and yes use treats when you think he's ready to learn that you are in control. You get his attention with the treat, and use a command like "look at me" when he starts to get restless about your lead. Then give him a treat to reward him for listening when he does look at you. You should also do some focused training on commands like "sit," "stay," and "come." It's probably better to start with those first, and make sure you spend about 30 or 45 minutes to work with him each session. Once he has the basic commands down, he should be more receptive to learning "heel," which means you want him to walk even with where your heel would be when you are standing still. When you're training "heel" is the best time to start attaching the leash to his collar. Otherwise, he may never stop resisting the leash.
There are also a lot of dog training tutorials online. Just do a search on RUclips.
I Think he going do good my friend he going be big dog wish you the best with him can not wait to see how big he get and how good he does on the farm . God Bless you and your family my friend🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤
Smeegle is a good training partner for Russell!!!!!❤❤❤ You help alot also, just talking while you walk him.❤❤❤❤
All I could think of when Skeeter was running circles around Russell was that thing that’s popular now especially when animals are running fast. It’s like look at me boyeee, I’m fast af Boyeee😂. Skeeter was so happy to have another dog his size for a change. He did his sniffin then it was his turn to be the fastest and most agile. Poor little Russell face planted when Skeeter faked him out. Then I thought of the little kid saying “I’m just a baby”. Putting the fast af when skeeters running circles around Russell the when he fakes him out you hear the “ I’m just a baby from Russ. That would be hilarious and priceless. I really wish you guys would do that on a short or something. Now that I thought it out, I want to see it so bad. Please do it. It does say the f word unfortunately. You could bleep it if you wanted it to be. You can’t tell me that’s exactly what Skeeter looked like running circles around Russell. He’s still uncoordinated and his little legs are now longer so he’s trying to figure out how to navigate that bless his little heart kind of looks like a teenage boy that just hit puberty and he’s all in that awkward stage trying to figure out everything and fill out and their bodies. So cute.
Tag you're it! 🐕🐕😄
Hi Kevin and Rachel, just perseverance he will get use to it the more you do it, if I was you I would do some of it off camera then you haven't got all the "Karen's" saying your doing it wrong or do it this way and that way, it's just praise and reward every time he pulls back just stand still and when he walks forward then tell him good boy, I'm sure you know this as you have had dogs for years. Hope this helps! He's a beautiful dog though 😊❤
Let's see your other property!❤❤❤❤
I wrote a comment and it got deleted. Don’t know why but it’s not here. Thanx for the video. 🤗~Becka
Consistency is the key. Like you said, doing a bit each day then the pup will get used to it. Just keep training sessions at about 15 minutes. Pups don’t have a huge attention span so don’t overdo. 🥰🥰🥰
Who's a Big Dog,good boy Russell !
Skeeter is all ears with his hairdo 🤣.
JO JO IN VT 💞
❤ so funny when start to feed the dog's the chickens, and the rooster goes off !! Haha 😄 all the goats come running up too my god i love it all makes my day. awwww ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kora's a good mama❤❤
Puppy dramatics! 😀
I enjoy all the dogs, but my favorite is Skeeter! So much energy, just watching him makes me feel satisified. Have you ever seen him get rodents? He is amazing and agile! Thanks for sharing your farm!
You’re Absolutely Correct...
Dogs Should Learn BASICS-FIRST.
And THAT...Should Be TRUE
For EVERY Dog.
🐶
WOOF.
When you are leash training, try to keep the leash shorter so Russel has to walk next to you. If he resists, make him sit. When he sits, praise him and then tell him “come”. Be sure to praise him only when he does what you tell him.
Actually, eventually he should learn to walk beside your left side which is the standard with dog training.
When he is bigger, his head should be near your left knee.
I believe pups walk beside better due to knowing you are the boss and slacker lead better. Just stop and turn if they pull. Only my experience.
It would be great if you could film the hail, from a safe place, so we can see how big it is. I love all the animals and you and your family do a great job of caring for them. Of course Russ is super cute and very enjoyable to watch as well.
We have them walk at our knee and use a small treat that is high value to the pup as immediate reward with a excited YES at the same time as the treat is delivered. So if he’s walking as you want him to hand down with the reward and YES but don’t stop. Continue to walk. Start with short walks and increase your time. He’s a smart pup. He will catch on easily. Train before you feed for best results.
I can’t wait to see the meeting with mojo!! Great video Kevin! I love watching your videos! Great way to kill some time!❤
You do what you can, don’t worry about what others think!!!
We used a clicker and a treat. And say come. Stick with the same command. Treats work great! Enjoy your farm kids!
Leash training is important.
He is so gorgeous x 😍
Yes you are doing good 😂 Russell has to learn even when he whines...
Love watching your beautiful animals 😍 cannot believe how big Russell is getting so fast and he is beautiful too!!!
I used training treats. They are little, about the size of dog food. Everytime he did what I asked he would get a treat. ❤
EEEEEMU. EEE. 😊❤❤❤❤❤I love you guys
I’m sorry you couldn’t get the collar you wanted…. But I love the red one! I am making you and Rachel something and I pray both of you like it. It will take a couple more weeks to make them. I only have one of them half made. When I am through making them, do I send them to the P.O. Box on here? I love your videos and your family and farm. Russell will learn. You have a lot of patients. But your good with the animals. Your a good man Kevin. Blessings from OKC.❤
Hi Kevin. Russell is growing so fast. He did really well meeting Skeeter. Skeeter can teach him speed and agility. Cora is such a good Momma, watching out for Russell. I hope that you, Rachel, Kyha, Caleb, and all the animals stay safe during the storm. Love to you all. ❤
So cute 🥰. It’s so fun to watch them play and chase each other.
Leash training is important indeed. It is made easier by having Russell hungry and giving him lots of treats for every good command response and good walking with you.
People telling people to stop giving Kevin advice when he asked at the end of the video "how do you do your training? what do you do?" 👍 ❤ it really shows you watched all the way through the video😅
Russell is one handsome dog.❤ MoJoe steals my ❤ too.
He is a beautiful pup, & all pups are a lot of work, arent they! Most of us have to put a leash on them immediately bc we dont have big pastures for running or pottying. So leashes are on from the very beginning He's doing great tho, & his nose works great. Thats important too. Fun video, thanks for sharing!❤
I can tell Russell is getting bigger. His red collar looks nice on him.
Kevin, if you stick with simple commands like, sit, stay, down, come, off, heel, and no, and everybody in your family agrees on the meaning and desired behavior, Russel will learn and not be confused. Keeping him on the lead is probably a good idea in the beginning until he can show you he understands. He's smart, so he'll learn as long as the humans stick with the program. (It's always the humans who mess it up !!). The other command I like is, Leave It -- meaning drop it, or let go. It's a handy command.
Another command I taught my dogs...'other side'. They go the side I want them to go to.
That was too cute, Skeeter was showing Russell his NINJA moves. Hope the bad weather misses you. Stay safe ❤❤
I remember when I was lease training one of our puppies it was a challenge at first. She was rolling all over the place. She did not think that that needed to be attached to her neck. So funny now. 😂💕🙏🏻
Mojo is the super special. I feel like he is your soul dog
Good job Skeeter! 😅❤❤
Skeeter: ”Best day EVER!” He needs a playmate, y’all need to get him a companion. Russell is going to get big and not want to run and play, he knows he is a working dog and Skeeter needs someone he can run and play with. He was clearly enjoying every second of this.
When starting out we used to training treats, we would put the leash on and go as far as it reached, knelt down, called them and offered the treat and praise, rinse and repeat. After a few times we started doing it without treats and just praised them. Wow, that was a long time ago, lol.
Please don’t let Russell run around until he has had the daily training, that should be a reward. If Skeeter is leash trained use him as an example, if not keep him in the house until Russell’s training is over for the day. You need to also work on no, stay, down, come and leave it. I know he is a working dog but those commands will be very useful as you can see by the way the other dogs don’t respond much, especially Mojo but he is special. Good luck with the training.
Stay safe with this weather, I pray you don’t get hit again.
Also only one word at a time like Down, stay, come. You can use hand signals, too. That was how I trained my dogs. Love the video. Great work. ❤❤❤
Russ is so cute and definitely has a mind of his own.
Skeeter is so stinking cute
Great video Kevin. Consistency and lots of leash when first had puppies. Used training treats lots when obeyed commands. Learnt one command first before moving to next. Surprising how quick they pick it up for a treat. Russell will be quick to most things. He is a gorgeous puppy. Have a great day. Hope the storm isn’t as bad as they say stay safe God bless🙏💕
Russell is such a cute name. He reminds me so much of Daisy kind of gives my heart a squeeze.
Russell says Daddy feed me I'm a growing boy. 😊
Mojo you are a sweety❤
Hi Mojo 🐾🐾
Who's training who?!?!?! Lol😊
Skeeter zoomies!!!!! ADOGABLE 🐾🐾
Right after your video was done Cesar Milan came on! He’s probably the easiest trainer to follow. He trains people! 😃👍
Treats will be a big motivator with Russel. Just do any training before you feed him. Always a big hoot and haller when he comes to u. Try not to give commands when he isn’t paying attention. Treats will help with that. Thanku for being u and for doing what u do 🐾❤️🐾
Russell looks so good in the red collar. He’s really growing quickly. Maybe get one of those treat pouches to have reward treats for Russell. That way he should follow the leash more easily.
That was a good start for Russell. He will get use to the leash. We know he is fine but Cora was worried. She was so happy to have him back by her. She's a good mama. I think she knows he isn't leaving. She is attached to Russell. So is Leske, he's a great dad
A little but not bad I like your videos ! They don’t make me motion sick.
If you have a short lead he can drag it around in his kennel, then a extra long one to call him back a little every day , yes the fight it a little then you give him things to do while you walk around ! Just to start😊
Russel is very curious and checking things out🥰
My cookie is a labradoodle and a very scardycat , she did better with a harness but would still pull, I got a slip lead and now she doesn’t pull much at all , only when she gets real frightened the she’s getting back to the house roothog or die!!😮 btw cookie is 10.5 weeks born may 07 2023
Fresh water always is a key to a beautiful coat. Change it often 😊
He just needs to get used to it let him plsy with it to adjust to it bless him ❤
Farm guardians walk best off of their own property. Our Pyrenees leash walk great on our gravel hollow road. Not so much inside any of our fenced areas. They know what’s their territory and what’s not. ❤ Skeeter was showing respect by nosing Russell’s privates. It’s an act of submission. Typical dog. 😉 Russell’s absolutely adorable!!
Mojo is a gentle giant. And he’s super smart. I think he thinks he’s part human (lol) cuz he’s a big part of the family.
A Leash and a Prayer... Lol 🐾 recommend a set path of her continues to be a big baby about it Lol😂
Start stop repeat
So much joy from your streams😉🙋♀️
I laughed out loud twice.. oh my gosh you're funny
I want to see Mojo meets Russell 🙏 please..lol
Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to see Russel and Mo Jo first meeting. Hope the hail passes right around you.🙏
He has really grown and so beautiful! Glad you decided to keep him. Love watching your videos and
WOW! Russell is growing fast. I love his color. With all the nastiest going on in the world it's great watching videos like yours to take us from that part of the world. Teaching dogs is no easy task. Eventually Russell will come around. I love his colors. 😊❤❤❤
Maybe you can get your color next month. Lol... The way he's growing won't be long 😂❤
Hi Kevin and fam. I grew up on weekends and summers on a farm. I loved farm living. Even had outhouses. Hate to admit because I don’t feel elderly but I’m classified as a senior now. Senior lady feeling like a teenager. Haha. Anyway, love your farm. Love all your animals. I feel like they are mine when watching. I’d like to see more of the emus. They run so fast. I hope you find one of her eggs soon. I have 2 cats Juno and April. Also we have 2 dogs Callie and Daisy. We love them all. Part of the family. You all do a good job taking care of the animals and the farm. sincerely Debbie.
