- got burnout? animal crossing is supposed to be a game and yet somehow, it can be a little overwhelming. that's why sometimes simple islands are better. less stress on you as a decorator.. maybe it's the freedom of space and not having to invest time on all of those items. this island by @zoooacnh (twitter) is an incredible display on what you can do by putting things simply!
they made a lovely orange fruit island that's left me inspired and i hope on embarking on this island tour with me, you get inspiration, too!

thanks to everyone for watching and who is being graceful in my comments 💕 to elaborate, my use of the word simple is being misinterpreted. when i say, “simplecore” i just meant that the look is very minimal. if you watch the video, you’ll see how much i elaborate on the thought that went into every space. all islands are beautiful in their own way! and most islands that are decorated with different themes into one or are reminiscent of 2020 decorating styles, often fall into what the community calls “normcore”. which is definitely not at all what is presented here! please be kind to the creator of this island in the comments. i am so grateful i was able to visit their gorgeous island!
🤍 where i stream weekdays: twitch.tv/dianaulait
Mine is simple. I think people are really creative with all the very detailed layering and terraforming on their islands, and they're nice to visit, but for actual playing I just cannot handle the claustrophobic feel of a super duper decorated island. I need breathing room.
same!!
I have decorations but it’s still spread out and very natural.
me, if I cant shake every tree because of stuff im gettinng frustrated 🤣
Yeah, the heavily decorated ones feel like Disney World. Nice to visit, but if you linger there long enough, it feels a little uncanny.
i agree, i want mine to still look like an animal crossing island, if it makes sense. a lot of trees, a lot of flowers etc. i dont want to terraform it too much :(
Definitely inspiring! I follow several Japanese acnh creators and the nostalgic feel of the simpler islands gives me a renewed energy to design in my game. I tend to be a maximalist in real life and on acnh, but there's something about these simpler islands. They're almost a palette cleanser. I would recommend seeking some of these islands out if you're feeling burnt out, but want to continue creating in this game.
Can you recommend some of those creators? I’d love to check them out and get inspiration!
Which? I need inspo
Same here!!
I think when the world was playing together we burned out the game fast.
I played alone with no friends. Things were slow and the game felt like I was playing animal crossing new leaf. I still go back to the 3ds and I noticed that new horizons is the better game for those who want control. New leaf is the best animal crossing game for those who want some control but not all the responsibility
how are we calling this simple
it’s not simple at all, just slightly less cluttery with minimal terraforms.
This is my favourite type of design. Spacing and Negative Space is so important to design. You can actually play the game on this kind of island, you can have 3 friends over and not feel like sardines.
sardines 🤣 so true hahaha
This is exactly the style I like the most! I want to see more like this instead of OTT, pretty village islands with relaxing spaces and themes
i agree! it's so simple and fun to walk through but feels very realistic somehow still? i love the balance
I don't play this game but sometimes I watch people play it and I want to say, the way this island looks really surprised me. It's beautiful and a lot more cozy than other islands I've seen, everything is so nice and I like how everything is mostly orange. Everytime I look at other people's islands they are less organised and they have all the colors which is not bad, but here it's so pretty and calming with just one colour everywhere. I've never seen this game looking so nice before. I just wanted to say this :)
if you ever get a chance, you would absolutely love playing this game! it is so relaxing and islands like this really emphasize that feeling 🥰
This tour is curing my burnout for sure. I gotta play again 😭 I miss this game
This is so cuuute! Still wishing we could have multiple islands on one switch🥲
right!! i have to steal my husband’s switch to have a second one
This island has so much intentions behind it. I think the word simple might not be the right word, its more minimalistic. every area has a clear vocal point and they really set it up like you go from picture area to the next.
that’s what i meant but minimalcore was such a long word 😭 maybe the wrong choice to go with simplecore? a lot of people seem to be confused. but if they just watched the video, they’d see how much i emphasize the thought that went behind it 🤷🏻♀️ thanks for watching!
@@dianaulait When I watched the video I just felt like the word simple was devaluing the design. Simplecore does sound better than minimalcore tho I agree haha. Maybe drop the core and just say minimal, or maybe cleancore? I really like unclutteredcore but it’s massive, lessismorecore is also funny to me. I also wanted to reply cause my previous comment seemed very critical when I read it back, please don’t take it seriously we’re talking about animal crossing which is just a game. Thanks for touring this amazing island!
@@Christian-do no no, i understand what you meant! some people have not been as kind in the comments but i do not take it personal 😅 it is the internet after all
Oh the gnomes as the little shopkeepers at the stalls!! I adore that, I might need to do that on my island 🥹
gnomes everywhere and anywhere you have stalls! it's a cute way of having something interacting with items in place of our villagers
I use the raccoons for this it looks dumb and I love it
I mean, avoiding burn out on animal crossing is a matter of only playing a couple of minutes a day? Or an hour or two a week?
But the island is very pretty and relaxing! Good work. :)
This island is GORGEOUS and so creative with the simplicity + fluidity of the island!
My biggest struggles are natural/non-cluttered ways to hide cliffs (done amazingly with the rock section) AND incorporating the back of the island in a more “realistic” way as opposed to just hiding it.
I’m soooo inspired. I also love how you took the time to do some close-up camera views to show just how realistic and beautiful the outdoor table setups look!!!!
this game is seriously SO pretty so whenever i can, the camera feature really helps me enjoy the sights i TOTALLY agree though, i found this island super inspiring because of the way they displayed the back of the island
omg i always hated how my airport was orange (i didn't know that you commit to the color and layout at the very beginning and by the time i realized i had put so much work into it) but seeing this orange themed island made me so happy. i've never completed an island build but i think i'm gonna shoot for something based on this one because it seems doable in a reasonable amount of time
I loved this video, not just bc of the beautiful island (i will so use it for inspiration) but also your narration and the pace of showing it! You explored it so intentionally and mindfully, loved it :)
My island is even simpler than this, and I love not having the pressure to undergo a huge project. I can just play and not feel like I have this huge obligation aside from being friends with my animals and celebrating holidays. I decorate for holidays and it’s so easy!
my latest island is simple! my biggest goal was to keep it playable- no single tile paths and everything needed to be accessible. It really makes just playing the game super fun, because i dont have to navigate tiny paths or deal with lag
oooh making everything accessible is actually a nice challenge w/ anyone wanting to avoid clutter. a bit like a feng shui rule almost
Ugh I love this and I would 100% watch a series of simple core from you!!!
aw yayy stay tuned!!
I’m so glad I came across this video! My island has been half complete for about 2 years and I just want to level it and start again now!
omg i have no words, i love how you inspire me so much, even when is not your own island!!
the acnh community inspires me and i really wanted to share it with you all
this was such a beautiful tour! i’m so glad this video popped up in the feed, i’m feeling so inspired!
aw i'm so glad you made your way here to enjoy it!
This island is so cute, glad you did it justice with a video tour!🩷
such a lovely tour!!! definitely feeling inspired to build on my island after watching 💞💞
This is just what I needed to see to push me to redesign my island and fall back in love with it ❤
This is so perfectly minimalist and beautiful! Thank you for sharing :)
thank you 🥹🫶🏼
i love this island. I feel like if you're not a content creator or a very very obsessed player this is more realistic and fun to actually play in
as a content creator, i prefer this style too! 🥰
I was never into designing my island like this, I just prefer the classic animal crossing feel with just trees everywhere but some outdoor furniture is nice, islands like this are too much for me lol
Really wish for a long time now that I would get a switch and play ACNH
But now, I love watching island tour videos🍃
I’ve been redesigning my island for a while now and I hope I don’t get burn out on it soon bc I have adhd and my interests tend to change after a couple weeks but I am thoroughly enjoying getting my island done now. I’m fully moving everything around but I’m gonna keep the styles simple
I loved this tour!! Such a sweet island 🤍🏝️
it really is! i’m glad you liked it
I've never seen such a good use of cardboard grass and bushes!
Such a pretty island! ♡
What an adorable island! Love this tour Diana! :)
isn’t it so sweet? they’re so talented! and they have other islands to visit, too
Wow itsosososo beautiful. Thank you for sharing this! 🧡🧡🧡 spacious but its so rustic. Very artsyyyy
Simplicity at its best. So so good. ❤
I love this entire island 😍
What a cute Island. I am also a Fan of islands that are not too overloaded with items and this Island is really pretty. I will visit it today 😊 thanks fot this video ❤
wow I love this island! I feel so inspired; this is exactly the vibes I want my island to have! :)
you should totally go for it!! 🥰
This is so cute. I just started playing again and I'm still trying to do basic tasks like getting villagers and saving bells. I don't know what theme to do yet for my island. I get distracted too often with so many choices. 😁
This island made me appreciate the color orange a lot more.
I’m in love with this one omg
The horse coin ride is def gonna go outside my nook shop, I’m doing my island based on childhood memories
Simplecore. I’ve never heard of that and I like it! I feel like I finally have a name for the style of my island. I love my island, but I have never felt it fit into a specific category until now! This island is so cute and very inspirational for me. Thank you.
What a cosy, warm and relaxing island! It's given me inspiration to go back to ACNH, I went on it recently, within the last year and later the last few months. However, what's keeping me from fully going back is the fact that I don't have NSO, and if I want to restart my island, I'm going to have to risk losing every single item and DIY I have ever gotten and learned, which is upsetting. Buying a new Switch is out of the question since I'm a university student and all my funds are going there right now, so it's a little bit depressing.
But, I will say that this video's given me inspiration to go back to my island and mess around with it a little more. I do like what I have right now, but I'm not fully satisfied with things, and the vision of what I had when I first got the game back in 2020 hasn't fully come true with how I'd personally like it. I also don't have the DLC but I might get it over the summer on a whim... Not sure yet :P Either way, thanks so much for this video, it's really lovely and it's given me inspiration to go back after abandoning ACNH for a little while. Much love!
This island is so pretty. These are my favorite type of islands, they are just balm to my soul. Just watching this made me feel so relaxed. Thank you for showing it!
thanks for watching!! aw so glad it made you feel calm
AHHH I love a simple core!!!! That's my type of core for sure! 💖
its one of the few simplecore themes i like. sometimes i see furniture too far apart and the land is so bare. but this island has the right balance
this is making me want to play animal crossing after over a year of not playing it ! maybe once my exams are over ..
THAT'S simple to you?! 😭😭
I barely just started playing the game a month ago, so I've got my work cut out for me. Luckily, I already drew out where I want each theme section to go. (Multi-theme cuz I could never just puck one thing 😂)
no no, i def mean simple as in minimal in style. this is not an easy theme to replicate by ANY means! i love multi-themed islands just as much 💞 i hope you’re having fun with it!
dianaulait, Subscribed because your videos are so much fun!
this is simple??? omg I don’t even know what mine is 😂 but i’m inspired
This is making me want to bulldoze my entire island but I don't even know where I'd start afterward, trying to manage something of this level seems so overwhelming
Simple islands are my favorite ❤️
Love your videos so much!
thanks knimmyyy ;o;
Aww so cute:):) I dont play a ton anymore so maybe a simple route will help me get back into things
i can’t lie that since the stardew update, i haven’t played as much too simple helps get back into enjoying the game for sure!
"Simple" but still way more complicated than my island
4:08 that is amazing
I literally just reset my island but now…. I got to do it again!!
I'm making a normalcore island and this is very inspiring
i love normcore!! i’m glad this could inspire that in any way 🥹💞
SOOOO CUTEEE 😭😭😭😭😭
I missed you! ❤
aww 😭 i’m so happy to be posting here again! i’ve really missed it 💕 i mostly stream on twitch every week if you ever want to watch those (it’s free and fun)
Overdecorated islands are beautiful, but I can’t imagine how unpractical they must be if you are still trying to progress in the game. Just to talk from a point to other in the island you have to squeeze in the few spots you didn’t put anything in, can’t get shortcuts, and very limited space to grow crops, flowers, get fish, bugs, all these things that you need to do in the first year you’re playing
does anyone know what is the code for the distressed dirt path they used? I couldnt find it in their creator ID but id love to find it or smth similar!
Does anyone know what those display tables are shown at 6:55? I've never seen them before!
Covered counter, 17k bells from Nook's/catalog, comes in four colors
The way your videos always give me a renewed excited feeling about this game!! ~ they’re made with so much love and care, thank you for all you do! 💜👏🏻
Edit: my favorite part is the windy simple dirt path, and the wheat fields, I remember absolutely loving the wheat fields in new leaf, I’m so glad they brought it back~
i always appreciate your sweet comments hun! i agree- the wheat field was a great item to come back after the update it makes for some stunning builds
does anyone have the code for the cute greenish trampled/beaten path? ^^ i cant find anything like it
eeeeep maybe I'll play acnh again!
Just want you to know my dog keeps lifting his little head from his nap while I’m watching this. I think he likes your voice lol.
Aww 🥰
hahaha aww how sweet! maybe he heard the little birds in the background of the video sound
😊
can you visit leapfrog
❤❤❤
What’s your Dream address? I want to visit your island so badly! It’s so cute! 🥰
I didn't know you could visit islands in the dreaming function.
you can through going to your bed after you get mail from luna!! it's a really fun feature :)
@@dianaulait thanks!
“I am excited to use the poop” LOL 😂
i really meant that
what shoes is your character wearing?
luigi shoes!!
@@dianaulait okay tysm!!!!!!
definitly still kinda too much there and there but many areas are so simple too and they match any island
11:45 its been so long since i played acnh, what are those plants?😭
the wheat field item!!
@@dianaulait thankss!
I have one idea I wish Nintendo would do we have shooting stars my I wish Nintendo would add Solar eclipses and Lunar eclipses in the game it would help when it’s too cloudy to watch an eclipse and it could have special prizes based on the kind of eclipse like eclipse glasses, a yard blanket, etc Hopefully somehow the next animal crossing can do this who else wishes this could happen?
Very “60s victorian country”
adorable🦋🤍🦋🤍🦋🤍🦋
my land so bad 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's not simple though is it? It's very, very well done but it's fan for simple. It's a more rustic aesthetic but it's not simple at all.
To me "simple" doesn't mean that it doesn't look like a city, it means that there's not much decorations placed all around and that you let the more natural aspects of the island shine, that you don't terraform as much, that it's more open.
2:47 a sad beige house... for a sad beige animal...
(the island is great overall, it's only this fragment which lacks color imo)
I love neutral colours and to me it was the best part of the island.
Also no need to be rude
sad beige mom core tbh
rude comment, tbh
@@dianaulait u know what... u right.. it looks fine. my bad for being unnecessarily rude
the fake grass thingys kinda ruined it But overall... her island looks good and well thought out ♥️
I dont like this island at all.
The horror islands are my favorite
ok? then why did you click on the video, it’s not that serious lol
you could've just said "i prefer horror islands tbh" instead of dissing the creators island.. what's the point???
No. it looks bad lol
it’s amazzzing
this tour was just so refreshing to watch!
Wait.. this is simple? 🥲
“simple” is meant to describe that it’s minimal in style.
@@dianaulait yeah I get that but I don’t really feel like this is minimal or simple haha
