    Recently I received a question on one of my RUclips videos that wanted to know whether I can create my type of characters inside Character Creator or Daz Studio. Even though I did respond to this question in the comments, I thought that I should maybe make a video about it going more into detail.
    So in this video I share my entire workflow when creating 3D characters, when I use Daz Studio, and when I use Character Creator, and also why I use both platforms.

    One thing that bears mentioning with Daz is the-- Platinum Club Memberships =Crazy Sales =a ton more models :) Now they have a cheaper monthly plan. I am a hobbyist for now but want to learn how to create my own characters from start to finish, complete with clothing sets. I love to build fantasy or sci-fi scenes placing each grass clump and flower--it is quite cathartic for me. I love the way you take your time to explain everything in great detail. Thank you for making these videos so accessible, means a lot.

    Both. There's a native way to convert Daz to cc. Extra points if u create ur base mesh from scratch for full ownership and use wrap3d to convert to Daz for illustration before converting to cc or metahuman for animation and games.

    Good morning. I would like a little advice. what are the export settings on DAZ that I need for a correct import (with morph) on Character creator. I often have surprises with clothes for example. a little tutorial on how to do it would be great.
    thanks in advance !

      I'm not an expert, as I don't use Daz assets for video games, but this is my understanding, Daz has 2 additional licenses that can be purchased when you purchase an item from the Daz store, I think the interactive license covers you for 3d art and video games, the other license is for printing 3d material and the basic license covers you for 2d art only, but I think you need the interactive license regardless of whether it's 2d or 3d for use of Daz assets in video games, if you plan on using them commercially. Perhaps you can ask around the Daz forum for clarification

    hey there! Thank you for sharing! Question, I tried this and my character in cc4 looks very different in CC4, is there a way to transfer the morphs over as well? Also are there any weight map tutorials? as when my character moved the clothes ripped off.

    Can a DAZ figure, once in CC, have CC expressions applied?

      Hi, yes. You can operate that Daz character inside CC like any other CC character.

    Good morning what laptop should I buy that is not small to start or too expensive for a newbie? thank you!!!

      Hi. I think the best is to look at the required specs of the software you want to use, and get a laptop that will be able to handle that. That is what I would recommend.

    I can we create custom clothing that is interactive? For example I wish to make Bible like characters with robes and sashes etc... and veils and head pieces. How can I do this?

    • @startanimating695
      @startanimating695  Год назад

      Hi Ed. Daz have your "Bible style" clothing for men and woman. I would buy it there and export it over to Character Creator to add onto your characters. I have those Bible clothing in my Daz wishlist. hehe. I also want to use them for characters in a future project

    You dont use Cascadeur for animation?

    Daz studio is a giant money sink hole, its become the new iPhone, every year new model/ phone, all your old shit isnt compatible with the new model. Iclone and CC8 isnt much better. The best thing you can do if you are absolutely serious about making animation or comics is learn Maya, zbrush, Photoshop and 3D max

      I agree with what you are saying. I just think that if you are new to 3D animation, Iclone, Character Creator and Daz is the easiest way to start. You can always convert over to Maya, Blender, and the other software once you are more serious about being a 3D animator. Thanks for your comment. Appreciate it

    I've been using daz for about a year now I love it except for animation and hair. I use cinema 4d and redshift and the daz materials are messed up every time I use the converter to redshift. also when you export as fbx (for animations which daz has very little of) and bring it in cinema 4d the materials don't translate over correctly. My question is when you import daz clothing into character creator do you have to relink a bunch of materials and sort out all the maps? Is it a huge pain importing in clothing to character creator?

    • @startanimating695
      @startanimating695  Год назад +2

      Hi Chad. I have never worked with Cinema4D before. So can't offer you help there. But with Character Creator it is VERY easy. They provide you with a A-frame pose that you need to drag on top of your character in Daz. Then you export your character. Then inside Character Creator you simply click the "Transform" button, select your fbx file. All you need to do is to identify each clothing item like is it a dree, a shirt, shoes, accessories, etc. Then you click import and Character Creator does everything for you. There are times, but not often, that you may have issues with pants, but Reallusion does have tutorials on how to fix that. But it doesn't happen often. Process is very quick and easy. Check out my playlist, I did create a video in the past of how to create characters using Daz and Character Creator

    Hi , what is difference between iclone and genesis? Thanks

    • @BasedMando
      @BasedMando 11 месяцев назад +1

      Iclone is an animation software from Reallusion, and Genesis is a base model type from Daz3d.
      Iclone, Daz3D, Cascadeur, Blender etc all have an animation software.
      Both Character Creator and Daz3D have their own standard base models, of which Daz3D has named their base models Genesis.

    Great video. What would be the workflow to create characters that are nudists? Anything special? Seriously, my content will remain non-sexual, just everyday folks being nude.

    Over two minutes in to the video and you only just start to deal with the subject. Sorry but I am not going to watch any video where someone waffles on, its just way too inconsiderate on viewers and just plain boring.
    I also don't understand how you can begin by saying animation doesn't have to be expensive, and you want people to give you their email address in return for a list of free software. You then go on to talk about stupidly expensive software like Character Creator.
