    Thanks for the information
Cartoon Animator is in good development, but it needs the actor to be created within the program

To me, MOHO is a very good pick because of the very engine used to create its own characters. The rigging is space tier, and when I need a new character and I dont want to keep switching programs, I can do just about everything in MOHO. Thats the one part that bugs me about CA5 is the lack of character creation, but the advantage of CA5 that MOHO doesnt have at this moment, is the fact that you can swap parts and keep your rig. I also love the reusable actions, and yes MOHO has that too, but CA5 is very robust on that and I do like that I can chain actions, speeding me up. But then here comes a weakness that I am still trying to get used to... the large amount of tabs. When I want to adjust the timing of an action, I literally have to open two tabs abd then suddenly a dozzen tabs open when I click an arm. I dont have that kind of problem wiht MOHO, so layer management goes to MOHO, for me.
FYI, I am still a noob in both softwares and I been taking hand drawn animations lately, so I am ranking the two softwares with my limited knowledge. also, I am one of many who cannot afford the 3k add ons for CA5. So, I am talking about the core software.
Speaking of core software, you get just about everything you need for animation with MOHO. Yes people do complain about the whole face issue, but to me, they have no idea how to animate and thats ok. cuz I know how to animate faces well, and its not realyl that hard, but I will admit the faces in CA5 is easier. Mark Diaz shown us how to create different emotions with the same mouth layers but have curves which can create a happy face, sad face or even an angry face. I dont know if I can do that in MOHO, yet, so for now CA5 gets another win.
if someone is keeping count, cuz Im not, we can see here that both MOHO and CA5 have strong advangates over the other. They are quite even in my eyes and I realized that I own both. so why not use both? also I mentioned the whole switching progam issue, really I just kinda dislike relying on another art program to create my characters each time while I can do almost any edit and creation in MOHO while in CA5, I am reliant on a different program. I admit it right now, I am still learning how to properly use both Clip Studio and Affinity designer. why am I using two art programs? Cuz I can. also I use each software for different things like in CS, is for my comics but I recently learned you can do that now in affinity, but I dont know how yet and am currently learning how.
I am losing my point, so I"ll end it with this. Its not always the software, its the animator. Many will make comparisons which is covering certain weaknesses that the program is good at. For some its faces, so CA5 is best. For others, they want more rigging freedom or better yet advance body turns, including 360 turns and thus MOHO is your tool. Learn what each program provides and make a personal judgement based on that. If you can get both, why not? both will cover just about everything you'll need as an animator. Other than that, learn to be an animator before making rash judgments.

I have Cartoon animator 5 and MOHO 14.
MOHO has more advanced rigging options
But it facial animation/lipsync option are bit weak if you create dialog heavy productions
    like I do.
CTA5 has more facial animation options in the base software especially with face puppet to easily layer on a facial performance after creating a base lipsync from imported audio.
So for me CTA 5 gets more usage for the type of 2D animation I am doing at the moment.

Great vid. I'd love to see Toon Boom products in a comparison video like this as well. And/or free alternatives like Grease Pencil, Toonz or Synfig, etc.

Did Cartoon Animator pay for this video? I'm sorry, but Moho is a hundred times better than that toy!
