hii thank u so much for the video, really enjoyed this !! just want to share another small observation which for me made kei mochizuki's illustration seem even more interesting. it's the hair and it's lightweightedness (?) it feels so airy and seems to be rendered in a bit more detail than the other parts of the drawing, like clothes. there's this effect of semi-transparency which can be noticed in how the glasses are kind of peeking through the hair on the right side of the drawing. the lines for hair also seem to be even more light than others and sometimes seem to be grey and not solid black. all in all, it's quite a minor thing but it creates this sort of naturally created focus in the drawing, the attention definitely being fixed to the girl's face.
just felt like sharing the observation! thanks for the vid and hoping to see more from you in the future !!

i was also curious and after inspecting her latest drawing live stream in 2024 i think I figured it out, after shes done with coloring the hair she lowers the opacity of the layer underneath and on the same layer with the lowered opacity she repaints the hair which makes it look kind of transparent. you can see her do this on this live: ruclips.net/video/8VVcs9qiaSY/видео.html&ab_channel=望月けい at around 1:21:26 with the eyes. sorry if Im not too clear my English is not very good.

If this is your first art video, then congrats, it's really well done. It gives the impression that you have been doing this for a while now.
I was having trouble making my lineart stand out for a piece and watching this video of you dissecting how Kei Mochizuki does it was very helpful. Following the steps described here made my art stand out way more.
Since you asked for requests, I am always mesmerized by the art of gyokai/_himehajime/onono imoko (they are the same guy, just different nicknames he's known as), the artist for Dohna Dohna and Rance. The way he uses saturated colors, black shadows, patterns in highlights and shadows, make for extremely crisp and appealing images. I always get my mind blown when I try to study it, I literally do not know how does he do it but he always makes it look good while when I use really saturated colors at my heart's content it looks like sh*t. A small breakdown of his art would be really helpful.
Once again, thanks for the video, it was very helpful.

I looked up onono imoko and I definitely see what you mean. His art is really vibrant and so cool, but I think he might be a little out of my league too haha, I'll keep definitely keep an eye on him for the future, I'd love to study him!

As an intermediate artist, I absolutely love these kinds of videos, breaking down pro artist illustration and learning their workflow and techniques.
Back then, there are too many "complete beginner guide/tutorial" videos that once you step into the intermediate level, there's not really anything helpful, so you're kinda on your own to progress forward. So I'm glad these videos exists

A good study, but I think if you would like to make a painting in Keis style then you should use her main colors which are magenta with black/gray or use blue with black/white/gray this way it will have that distinct Kei-like look, also it would be an obvious choice to draw Baoban Sith and add elf-like ears that Kei often draws)

Do you only do art studies btw? I would love to watch a video that spoonfeeds me on how to lay down hard shadows and blend in colors. I want to say that the brushes I’ve been using havent been working, but in reality, I know it’s just a skill issue on my end. I need more practice and studies.

Honestly I'm still not too clear about the direction of the channel, but I'll definitely be experimenting, though I think my favourite type of content would be the art studies so I'll have to see.

Simply put yes, its a one time purchase on pc, but on ipad its yearly. however theres a learning curve with the layout that takes a solid day to figure out :)

I Definitely agree with @prab here. CSP is simply the best return on investment painting program on PC. Photoshop is the industry standard in the West and Procreate is really good for the Ipad, but many Eastern professionals like Kei use CSP, so yes, big yes.

Sorry for the late response. I don't really know about procreate, but the brush I used is very simple. Just a hard round brush without pressure opacity, instead it gets bigger or smaller depending on pen pressure.

-needs better articulation, sounds like you're just reading a script without any pace or tempo, really distracting and hard to follow.
-post your work or your socials. Can't trust someone's explanation without seeing their work first, a study/copy does not reflect the actual skill.
