This is a really good video! (also a really nice study) I completely agree about physical exercise (or any physical activity). During by first exam session in university I used to spend basically my whole day in my room studying, which was terrible for my mental and physical health (and for my studying ironically), and what really helped me was taking short walks in the park and also juggling, which turns out is actually a great hobby. And I would also say physical exercise has a meditative aspect to it, where you are completely absorbed by your activity and your mind is resting from this constant stimulation and distraction. For me that's especially true for running. Only thing I would add to the tips in this video is proper sleep. Many people, not only artists, neglect their sleep by staying up too late, not sleeping enough, watching their phones just before bed... I used to be one of those people, so I know it really fucks you up. Thank you for the video!

I've been trying similar approaches for quite some time now. And at some point got so good at them i was drawing each day, worldbuilding ideas were flowing into my mind daily, it was great. What's however worth pointing out, is that many people retract to technology due to feeling overwhelmed by big responsibilities. That's the reason i slipped back into my goblin mode, but once i sort my shit out i can get back on creative tracks

Normally videos like this don't do much for me, I just click on them, skip through the Chapters and forget about them again, especially because i just want to distract myself with them or have something to eat food to Also... I don't usually do anything that puts me into the public spotlight anymore like interacting with people online, writing comments or anything like that really so I apologize if this is weird to read🤷‍♂ However for some reason this video did something to me and helped me with something I've struggled with for the past few months which is basically being able to calm down and meditate again. I understand a lot about the human psyche and meditation and stuff like that, i know everything i have to know for a lifetime in order to lead a good life but i never practice any of it. This has been going on for years now where i know what is good for me and i know what the next step is but i don't do it. A few months ago I've started to meditate and my life or at least my state of being, my contentness and the way I operate has improved drastically to the point where I was finally happy with my life for the first time in a very long time, but then I had to stop because I was busy with Job stuff and I just couldn't get back into it anymore. Meditation and Exercise for me go hand in hand or at least they do when I have the freedom to do so (being all alone and away from people is the only time when i can exercise) but Meditation alone is NECESSARY for my life, i cannot function without it, it's the only way to break the vicious cycle of bad "mental health" whatever that might be for people. My point is, because I need to do stuff like that in order to function I had a really hard time for the last few months as i could not get back into it and my nerves and anxieties, worries, thoughts got the better of me and made me stagnate. But watching this video somehow made my mind pick right up where it left off last time and I could finally meditate again and now I'm feeling like life is starting to flow normally again, as it should. And i know that tomorrow I'll have to start again as i always have to but I can say from Experience that it will be way easier now and I'll stick to it for a while longer 😌 So what did I want to say with that? I wanted to thank you for this video and share with you that this video has brought some actual value to me (and a lot of other people too, as I'm sure that most people struggle with stuff like this at some point in their life) PS: English is my second language, not sure if I used some words in a weird way or something so yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, also sorry for messing with some people's attention spans by writing so much^^ (TL;DR) I struggled with some stuff and the video put me back on track in my life and I'm grateful for it ;)

I work out every other day and I would agree that is is beneficial for you art you gain an instinctual understanding of the muscles simply because you work out so you can better understand when something is off, but I also agree with on a different level if you ever experience pushing your muscles to failure you you feel the ultimate and intense desire for progress. I'm a strong believer of the idea that actions and habits that you take in your daily life affects everything you do, no matter what it is simply because of the way you are training your mind to behave and therefore transfers over to you art. I also believe it improves you reservoir of willpower. i hope i helped convince someone the importance of a healthy body for a healthy mind for stronger art, I'm off to go try meditation again.

one of the best things I did was put a sketchbook in my kitchen. I draw so much more now, because I can doodle between cooking or cleaning, I return to my sketches and change/finish them, etc. Great place to stop and draw for a moment.

The section about having fun and reminding myself of why I started was really important to me. For the last year art has been getting more and more tiring for me even if I draw a lot. Because I'm going into 12th grade which is extremely hard in my country, it's been drilled into my head that when studying, i should be as efficient and aim for the most improvement as possible. So that though process sadly slipped into my art. I find myself comstantly doubting whether a specific drawing is really worth it, if its worth it to aim to make it big in art, whether i should spent 3 hours drawing or doing smth else etc... so remembering that i am allowed to have fun with my hobbies without guilt and prospect really means a lot to me. I was always artsy, but when i took it more seriously around 2020, it helped me cope with the constant quarantines. I enjoyed every second of it. My goal is to get a comic published/serialized. So when I beat myself up for not drawing "enough" or being "overconfident", i remember that my favourite artists all went through the same things. Awesome video!

i have a rule which is basically: every hour that i spend drawing, i must then do 10 minutes of exercise or physical activity to compensate (at any point in the day). also, i always try and make sure to have some water next to me while i draw since its easy to forget even such basic things like hydrating yourself sometimes. i started implementing this things after i noticed i was getting back pain and such from drawing at my desk for so long and it has really made a difference in my life. i would really recommend. please, let’s take care of our health 🤞

What you said about drawing because it's fun, instead of drawing to improve is something I needed to hear aloud. I totally agree with the watching TV or playing a game to inspire. After I graduated, I got major burnout. Then I started playing Fallout 4 of all things, and now I'm drawing those characters. Sure, it's nothing complex or interesting, but I'm drawing again, and that's what matters.

"Time wasting" is such a subjective thing, and the idea that none of the things you're seeing are worth the times seems like as much or more of a capitalist production idea than people judge being in social media is. I don't buy this video premise, it's okay to take some time off and rest, not everyone needs to be productive all the time.
