I'm 2 weeks post opp after my open myomectomy surgery, I'm still in pain, still in bed and the couch.. I do walk around the house... this is a rough time for any female.... stay strong ladies...
✨Thank you! I’m next so I needed to hear this! Speedy recovery, good luck!
I love how you shifted your focus on God & your Marriage!
The baby will come
Your story is so positive. It makes me feel less scared!
✨Exactly!😊I pray my new journey is similar to this experience🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing and well done on prioritizing what's important to you at this time. Your recovery journey sounds really positive and your positivity is contagious. My myomectomy surgery is scheduled for less than 3 weeks time and I'm hopeful that the procedure and recovery all goes better than my expectation.
Everything will be great! You'll be in and out of that hospital in no time :) I think it's important to have help around the house if you cam for the first week, but after that you gain a little more independence. Let me know how u feel after! Stay blessed and I'll pray for you!!
Thanks so much
Thanks for sharing! I just had my surgery on September 17, and my experience sounds somewhat similar to yours. I was cleared to workout at about 4 weeks however. I have now since started jogging while wearing a belly binder, but I did start by walking for at least 15 minutes everyday at week 3. I’m still experiencing some numbness above the incision, but for the most part it has not been that bad of a recovery.
@Ashley Crawford, can you share what belly binder you are using pls?
It’s actually one they gave me at the hospital that has worked. I found one on amazon that was a little too big. Smh. They have so many different options though.
Ok. Thanks
@@enya.7868 My husband bought me this one. I find it awkward, but you might like it!

I can't wait to get more active. Unfortunately, my laziness stretches far before my surgery date lol I've got a lot of work to do. I never thought about wearing a belly band! I have one meant for C-Sections and a new waist trainer. I might actually try that and see if it gives me the support I need. Well I'm glad to hear your recovery went well! I'm so glad we can just knock this off the list for 2020! Have a good week :)
Omg girl! You’re superwoman. I’m on day 4 suffering with pain. Total of 10 fibroids taken out 😩
I'm having this surgery next week. Your attitude is easing my mind! I am super nervous about the recovery and the incision site. Thanks!
I was nervous about my surgery, I just had it last week on the 3rd of December. It’s a lot but stay positive. For me it is painful, but each day gets better.
You will be fine! I had mine, and I didn’t have any problems.❤️🙏🏽
@@petit-four1404 thank you so much, the surgery went well, but a pocket of fluid formed above the incision site. Unfortunately I am still in the hospital. I have been here over a week now. I must say that my Doctor said an infection can happen afterwards but I am taking it one day at a time and Thanking God each day.
@@ravenivey6813 I’m glad everything went well and continued prayers for a speedy recovery.🙏🏽🌹
@@ravenivey6813 hope you feeling much much better Raven. I had my operation on the 22nd Dec, discharged Xmas morning. Am healing nicely at home
I had a myomectomy 7 weeks ago. So, I can definitely relate to your experience. I've just started my own RUclips channel recently. I'm looking forward for more videos.
Your story is so inspiring. I go under the knife in a month and your videos has helped calmed me down. Thank you ❤❤
Thanks for sharing your journey! I have my open myomectomy soon and your video series has been very helpful! Looking to share my journey with others as well!
Going through infertility can break a solid relationship. It's a lot of work. Taking time to focus on the marriage and refresh that spark is a totally logical. Take the pressure off for a bit.
Thank you for this. My open myomectomy is in two weeks. I’m scrambling to clean/organize/ and meal prep all while trying to ease my nerves. I’m not sure what to except and your videos are really helping
It's not that you are out of shape but it seems to be a part of abdominal surgery. I has a thing to practice taking deep breaths those first two weeks. I was so surprised at how shallow my breathing was post surgery. I would do my 15 minute walks 3x a day. When I pushed myself I would spot. I'm proud of you for pacing yourself and listening to your body. I was a little hard headed. Although I could move around it took a while to regain the core stamina to sit up. I had to gradually build back up to it in weeks 4-5.
After 6 weeks I started walking 2 miles every other day then I gradually increased to 3 and then I started working on speed and improving my breathing again. I am still working on stamina.
I completely understand putting your marriage first. I was cleared at 3 months. We did a Letrozole/trigger shot/timed intercourse cycle and it was a lot. Tons of appointments. We haven't been back to the doctor since and that was 2 cycles ago. Will be praying for you guys and hoping for the best!
Wow 3 miles a day! I need to hop to it lol My goal is to drop 20lbs by April (next vacation) which I think is totally doable. I'm glad to hear your recovery went well! I think I made myself a little nervous by over researching, but it really wasn't that bad 🤷🏽♀️ Happy Sunday! Have a great week :)
I appreciate your honesty. It his is my 3 day home and it gets better but I am in pain. I also have been very constipated. However, I am able to move better today.
Try Colace! I took it everyday the first week. I also drank a glass of cranberry juice each day. Not sure if that helped, but I think it did.
Omg I am 6 days post op. I am severely constipated. Omg does anyone have any pointers it would help.

Oh, and the XOXO conferences are amazing! My hubby and I have started taking groups to this conference.
For some reason, I assumed you lived in Texas and I was right. When you said Gateway, I was like yep. Thanks for posting this. I'm having my surgery in a few weeks. I'm nervous as all get out but this video has been super helpful.
Yup. I've been in TX for almost 4 yrs now! GL on your surgery. In my opinion it is so worth it. I just hope mine don't grow back too quickly.
@@tianasmith8955 I'm a Louisiana transplant and been here for 11 years. I should have gotten it done 3 years ago but chickened out. Now, I really have no choice. It was a lot thrown at me at one time so I'm like oh geez...
@@newaverealty Mine went pretty quick as well since I was in so much pain from taking those hormones shots. Just pray about it. It'll be ok. Try getting excited! Just think, no more period pains on the other end. Less bloating. More energy! Get excited!
@@tianasmith8955 that's what I keep telling myself after struggling with pain today. I'm like in a few weeks these things will be out and I want them to start with the one that is on my bladder and just go for war during my cycles. I'm sooooo glad I came across your video.
@@tianasmith8955 I did it on Tuesday. Thanks for the encouragement. It wasn't as bad as I thought and I instantly feel lighter and so much better than I did beforehand.
Hi Tiana. Thank you for this video. It feels so nice to hear somebody else explain exactly what I’ve been going through.
It’s been 5 weeks since I got the open myomectomy. This whole experience has been heavy on my heart. Physically, I’m getting better. However, I do feel the need to see a therapist for my mental health. So, having stumbled upon this post has been like receiving a warm hug from someone who gets it.
I wish you well❤️
I'm so happy that I can help :) Good luck with recovery!!!🤗😘
I went to post opt 9 days,I drove myself
Hi from IG 👋🏾
How many days in hospital after surgery? And do you bleed like a c section bleeding after surgery? Is there any otc must buy medicine after abdominal mymomectomy
I had mine done 03/22/21,.I came out the same I took the ibuprofen 600 for about 3 days and stop took it, I wasn't in no great pain and I taught I had to just incase of inflammation. It was a little hard to get out of bed but I did because I drink alot of water.i was puffy for 2 day the third days I was ok I didn't need no help only the day after.
My recovery isn’t great. I hate it. I had it 2/6/23 and I was expecting this experience. 33 fibroids removed
33! Wow! I hope you are doing well. I only had 2 removed and they were slightly attached so only one cut was needed. I'm sorry to hear recovery has been rough.
I just had my surgery 3/9/23... 7 removed largest 10cc -6.3cc- 5.6cc -3.7cc. Very large ones.
Hi...when you had your first menstruation after surgery? How many weeks you waited to have it?
Check out this video! ruclips.net/video/f1YUzxMUL40/видео.html
Please sis. After your surgery was your first period came heavy with clots. Because my first period after surgery came very heavy with a lot of clot and slight cramp. Am confused now..
Everyone's experience will be different so don't freak out on me! lol If your clots were/are more than something you're comfortable with, you should definitely reach out to your OB. The only time I had a really heavy period and clotting was the month prior to surgery. I was coming off of the IVF hormones and my body was not happy.
@@tianasmith8955 thanks for fast response.
Hi thank u for posting so I'm getting this surgery soon when I asked my doctor what kind of anesthesia will I receive he said he would give a spinal first(epidural) then put me under not sure why I'll need both that makes me 😩 nervous but did u only get out under or have spinal also
Hey. I've never heard of having to get an epidural for a myomectamy! It must have something to do with where your fibroids are located maybe? Or the size? My anesthesia was through the IV in my wrist. I didn't realize there were options. You should voice your concerns. It might just be a personal preference of your doctor's and not necessarily a necessity🤷🏽♀️ When is your surgery? I'll pray for you.
@@tianasmith8955 thank you for responding, and yes I said the same I wasn’t really sure on why I would need a spinal anesthesia and also be put under!! My fibroid is located on the outside of my uterus so far I have a total of 3!! One 7 centimeters the other two really small and because of the bigger one he’s gonna do the open myomectomy instead of laparoscopic. February 2021 is when my surgery is scheduled I’m going to figure out before hand why both is necessary!! And thank u I’m excited to do my first vlog
@@Mrsgrant2002 I just had mine done about a week ago and I had both spinal and general anaesthesia. My doctor said it was to help with posy op pain. I wasn’t given any strong pain medication just paracetamol and ibuprofen. I felt NO pain for the first 24 hours.
