One of the best videos on the topic. I was driving 18 wheelers, but am looking into doing my own box truck thing. Did you start out renting, leasing, or owning?
Appreciate you tuning in 🙏🏾 we started out leasing and still lease 2 trucks now. Just bought a truck so we may give up one leased truck. You can check out our “why we leased our first trucks” video to see the pros and cons of lease vs purchase

@@MotivationBoxTrucking YES I’M GLAD YOU POST IT. I SUBSCRIBED TO YOU GUYS BECAUSE OF THIS VIDEO THANKS FOR THE MOTIVATION!
Your videos are highly informative bro. Keep doing your thing! Do you anywhere locally that has rentals or trucks for purchase? I'm in RVA too.
We lease with Enterprise, however Ryder, Penske, Budget all have rentals and they sell their trucks too. Prices vary but make sure to go through their commercial departments. You can find used trucks online as well
I am in Baltimore and looking for a truck also, do you have ur own insurance or using enterprise insurance?
@@a1xtakeover714 we use our own through Progressive. To run Amazon you have to have more than what Enterprise insurance covers
Appreciate the free game, but like you said the hardest thing is finding trustworthy individuals to drive your truck, I keep hearing that a lot, hopefully I can find me a truck soon in this Baltimore area, I am thinking about renting
Yeah other people don’t treat your stuff the same lol 😆
Yeah I hope all goes well. I’m in the same area and just put my paper work in for my LLC

got question: 26ft long box. Weight 102" height 84" ......
I agree with you brother. Looking at how much diesel and DEF cost and what you should run in miles based on pay and how far or sort mils are reflects what one keeps in earnings. I agree with you many don look at what they want and how much they would recap after fuel and how far they should and shouldn't drive for cost efficient mor to save. I'm proud of you man and I agree. I took wouldn't feel comfortable of others driving my trucks either. I am looking at getting money saved up o get a box truck with lift gate and an electric sit on pallet jack cause I need it to sit since I cant walk too well but other than that man I mean I am still work you know. God bless you brother. Jesus lol ves you man. I'm proud of you. God bless you.
Appreciate it brother we try to give real insight into this industry. The more you understand the more successful you will be. Thanks for supporting the channel and good luck to you 💪🏾🚛💨
Hell yeah!
Thank you for this info .. I currently have my LLC , EIn, DOT, and MC number haven’t went active yet … kind of stuck on ins … quotes are crazy high
Congrats. Yeah my renewal on insurance for my rentals jumped up because enterprise increased their truck values 🤦🏾♂️
Respect
How to get started? And thanks for all the information
Appreciate you tuning in! Check out relay.Amazon.com for the full list of requirements. Good luck to you 🚛💨
Appreciate your video. I have a question, can you use a 15 foot box truck for Amazon relay?
Thank you
Unfortunately not, due to dock height and truck length you would not be able to load the truck
Ya'll should know that your box truck business has to have been in operation for 180 days (6mos), before Amazon will contract with you.
(according to their website)
Thanks! Amazon made that change back in January 2023 after we made this video but that is correct, you now have to have an active authority aged 180 days to run loads for them.
Also burn more fuel when loaded vs empty.
Awesome video! I’ve been looking into this myself! Is start up fees insurance, dot numbers etc expensive? Trying to get an idea
Thanks bro appreciate it 🙏🏾 start up costs are about 10k with leasing (different if you buy a truck). My first video How To Start A Box Trucking Business breaks down the cost of some of the startup costs
@@MotivationBoxTrucking thanks I’ll def check it out! Tired of driving these 18wheelers for companies and would much rather get my own authority and start making real money. Thanks for the videos and I hope your company keeps heading upwards!

What trucks did you buy? I heard isuzu and hino are the best one? And what square foot does amazon require? I think it’s 26 ft.²

💪🏾 Contact info in the description!
Some game being dropped. 💯
Real tslk... trusting somebody to drive my truck
Much appreciated for a very informative and detailed explanation. I had a quick question, about amazon relay/insurance. For insurance filling, is it intrastate or interstate?
Sorry for the late reply but you can either one. You just have to meet their liability requirements
yo, thats right
Got yourself a subscriber bro I'm currently looking into getting a box truck and doing business with Amazon do you do like a program or mentorship?
Appreciate the support brother 🙏🏾 we do consultations you can book through Calendly.com/motivatioandtrucking
No long term mentorship or courses, we don’t like to drag people for their hard earned money! But if you are looking to start we can come up with a strategy and we can give you great tips and connections 💪🏾 looking forward to speaking with you
@MotivationBoxTrucking that would be perfect as i currently deliver for Amazon in the commercial field so i know how the relay works. Getting started is the problem like paperwok and stuff.
I’m just finding your channel and like what I’m hearing from you in your videos. Question, I am running my first Amazon load later tonight but posted my truck this past weekend for throughout this week. My truck was not selected. Is it because I’m new and in a way I have to prove myself by taking the cheaper paying rates first?
Thanks for watching 🙏🏾 Not sure what criteria you are putting in for post a truck but if you have something not quite right it won’t match the loads. Check out our how to post a truck video to make sure you are putting the right info in. Being new doesn’t keep you from being able to get loads with post a truck
How’s its going now?
You whatup my men
Thanks for the vid! Im looking to get into the same business, are you using rental trucks through Enterprise? If so or not, do you think its worth it?
We started with enterprise in 2020 so rates were much lower. Right now the rates are high. Truck sale prices are coming down so I would suggest waiting to see if the rates for leasing drops as well. It’s hard to profit with high weekly rates plus mileage surcharges
@@MotivationBoxTrucking Ok cool, thank you!
Great video !!How many hours do you drive a day
I try to keep my miles under 100 per each trip but I run multiple trips a day so anywhere from 8-12. But with Amazon a lot of those hours are sitting getting loaded!
Great video. I'm researching Amazon Relay now. Do you have one on one consulting to help someone?
Thanks 🙏🏾 sorry for the late reply but I see you booked a consultation, I look forward to speaking with you!
Good looking, I got question u think I can start off with uhaul 14ft truck
Amazon requires a 26’ box to sign up. Some cities have 16’ cube truck options for loads but you may get turned away if you don’t have the proper size
Hi bro i'm working for Amazon Delivering Package in 26 Box Truck[3rd party]. How to get on Amazon Relay if you buy you own truck, I herd you have to wait 6 months before you start work for them.
Thank you! I did want to kno is there a certain ft box truck you have to have for Amazon relay?
26’ with a liftgate is required
Hey bruvv, great vid! Do they have post a truck for strictly weekends?
🙏🏾 thanks for watching! You can post your truck for whatever days/times you want. If you only want to post for the weekend you can do that
You can check out my Post a Truck video to see how to put the dates of availability in
@@MotivationBoxTrucking right after I asked I found that video ahah. I appreciate it a lot man fr, I’m currently working for a small business and the boss which is also my mentor, has expressed to me that he’d allow me to use the trucks for business on the weekends. Appreciate it 🙏🏾🙏🏾 I apologize, new to RUclips still working on the audio! But I hope the info was helpful 💪🏾
@@MotivationBoxTrucking yes it's useful thank you I will be following, whish you the best
every load is touch freight for receiving and unloading? that could be tiring, some trouble could happen
Not all box truck loads are touch freight but the post office loads are. Most of it is palletized though. If you have done any other logistical/warehouse work before then it’s not that difficult. I used to work for a soda company and moving companies and this is less physical work than those with less risk. But hey it’s not for everybody 🤷🏾♂️
I'll drive the truck for you.. plus soak up game. Jacksonville fla
gotta make our way down there one day 💪🏾
I have noticed that most loads requiring a box truck require a 26-foot truck. However, I own a 24-foot truck. Can I still take on trips that require a 26-foot truck? And what size truck are you working with? Thank you.
I have a 26’ some facilities don’t mind and others do. It depends on the staff
Love how you broke down the math with gas and rates
I had a couple questions
What kind of license do you have and for a newbie would you recommend leasing a box truck or?
This is non CDL so a regular state issued DL is what you need. Plus you have to get your DOT and MC numbers. I would stay away from leasing right now the prices are too high to profit
@@MotivationBoxTrucking thanks for the fast response especially because I’ve been hearing that I needed my b class to do amazon relay even with a box truck smh so what route do you recommend me taking for getting a box truck? I’ve been doing amazing flex for a while just to see if driving for 8 hours a day was something I wanted to do and I found it peaceful lol
@@salvadorponce9778 if you can afford to purchase a used box truck, that is the best route right now. Rental prices are sky high
@@MotivationBoxTrucking bet used truck it is 🙏🏽
@@MotivationBoxTrucking any make/models you recommend? Mileage I’m looking for? I appreciate any advice thanks
Question for u when u post your truck do u use rate per mile or just min payment, and do u normally do long distance meaning over 200 miles or just local less than 200 ?,appreciate it
Hey brother thanks for reaching out 🙏🏾we do rate per mile but it’s personal preference. You can even do both to ensure you make your minimum daily revenue at the rate you want. We prefer short local 100 mile and under loads because we lease we have to be mindful of the mileage but still profit
@@MotivationBoxTrucking oh ok cool good to know appreciate it ,all the small details matter to maximize profits i was doing otr for about a month but with fuel prices and and these low balling brokers, am going to try Amazon now and see how it goes ,thanks again brotha be safe out there 🙏
So how long do you have to drive for amazon to see better loads? Or is there a way to see them just starting out?
It’s a 6 week “probationary” period then you usually see better loads of you maintain a B+ or higher
How much is a nat worth in a single trip is $ 250 after the expense you mean good
How much do you charge for consultations my husband and I started a truck company looking into doing box truck to start taking a break for the semi trucks for now…. In the Idaho area
🙏🏾 appreciate you watching. Consultations are $100/hour
👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Is there a way to go around the 180 day requiring that Amazon has in place for those newbies that have an authority with less amount of time?
No there’s no way around it, just patience lol
Im grom VA as well however inlive in NC now. Do i need a DOT # for a box truck?
Yes, you need a DOT and MC authority to run Amazon with a box truck
Quick question so to make that mark you gotta be owner operator right? I’m thinking about doing this once I become owner op
Yes check out relay.Amazon.com to see the requirements
