Also how cool would it be if the origin of the destroyed universes “13-18” was due to Zalama creating the super dragon balls 👀👀 I think it would be interesting, maybe he needed extra energy to create them!
My theory is this: 1. Gogeta used that move on Broly because he knows it’s a powerful technique and wanted to test it on Broly (as all Saiyans like to do) 2. Gogeta knew that if he didn’t take out Broly his power would keep growing and he would get out of control with his rage (and then Cheelai came in to save him and end the fight)
@TheRSC To point out your second point, I believe gogeta didnt think cheelai would do such a thing because gogeta seemed a bit suprised when he didn't see broly at all after the kamehameha, or maybe that's just because he thought broly was dead anyway that's what I got out of it.
I honestly think Gogeta thought Broly was strong enough to survive his final Kameha. Even if he put Broly on the brink of death, he knew he could give him a Senzu bean seeing as he figured he wasn’t evil.

I think the "Stardust Breaker" technique is both a cleansing attack, as well as an attack that damages opponents. I think it would straight up destroy your body if you were pure evil (like Janemba), but if you were mostly good, I think it would just damage you. Although, I guess the attack could still kill an opponent regardless, as long as they were weak enough
i was in a theater that was freaking out when they teased Ultra Instinct, AND they were screaming and one guy throw his popcorn bag at the screen freaking out when soul punisher was shown i was in the day one showing of DBS broly
Keep in mind that when Gogeta cleansed Janemba he "crushed" the energy in his hand and then tossed it at him but against Broly. The pure orb was thrown
My guess on the Omega situation is that with Janemba, there was at least SOME good buried deep down in the form of the Oni kid, whereas Omega was just pure evil. I imagine the Soul Punisher/Stardust Breaker washes away the evil from the opponent to reveal the good underneath, like wipers on a dirty windscreen. Doesn't work very well if the windscreen is already rotting and cracked, huh...?
@@edtct Because they were in different situations fighting different opponents. You seriously think Vegito wouldn't have been able to beat Broly if he fought him instead?
*My theory* : The startdust breaker is actually a perfected mini spirit bomb, its long been stated that the genki dama has a quality about it that its at its most destructive when its towards evil so it effectively destroys all evil, but it was always still on some level destructive to anything it hits regardless if they're evil or not, Gogeta possibly came up with his own variation of the spirit bomb on the fly since he remembers that King Enma told him as Goku that Janemba was originally one of the innocent workers at the check-in station, therefore Gogeta needed a way to destroy the evil that was Janemba without harming the worker. So the stardust breaker may in fact be made of genki which is translated as (origin ki) which refers to ki in its purest state, which is what gives genki its nature to purify things, but perhaps Goku's previous spirit bombs have been mixed with normal destructive ki which make the spirit bomb imperfect and destructive to anything, so this version was perhaps made to contain only pure genki on its own so that it only destroys evil and nothing else, and you can perhaps kind of see this when Gogeta turns it from its ball structure to just pure stardust sparkles, its as if he tries to make the energy more delicate by releasing it from its condensed ball structure which could be a formation of his normal ki along with the genki and instead just tossing the tiny sparkles (pure genki) at Janemba instead of the whole ball as those sparkles are the actual genki particles without any destructive ki added so that the innocent worker remains untouched, again, just my theory.
I called it and still do .... Rainball yes i wasn't really that interested in the Attack back then just in why Gogeta was SSJ when Goku and Vegeta fused in Base
Goldfire345 I like that theory a lot. Makes sense as to why he smirks when he sees that Broly survived the Soul Punisher. At the same time though, he immediately tries murdering Broly with a Kamehameha. You could really see the Vegeta side of Gogeta coming out there lol
@@darkjedi572 Yeah, I mean Vegeta did kind of try and murk him early on when he went SSG. But in seriousness you could argue Gogeta knew he was pressed for time and while he would not want to kill him, Gogeta still being part Vegeta after all he would likely be more pratical in stopping Broly before they defuse or they'd have no chance at stopping him from destroying the Earth as Goku and Vegeta would absolutely have no chance separately. Then Goku probaly being the chill guy he is would probaly opt to revive him if Cheelai hadn't already saved him.
Even is a technique is only supposed to work on only evil , it should still have been powerful enough to kill anyone not strong enough to take it . its like if he fired it at a peaceful human monk that's not evil but is certainly nowhere strong enough to be getting hit with such power . but in the theory of it only working on evil people then it wouldve been harmless . thats where that theory loses credibility in my opinion .
I didn’t even know that was the name of that technique! I just knew it was badass. Thanks man I really appreciate you doing an explanation on this. Ima have to check out the rest of your content. Edit: I freaking love that name, STARDUST BREAKER!
Wasn't Broly about to revert back when Gogeta fired at him and Chillai asked Shenron to send him back to Vampa, cause when Gogeta used his Cosmic Kamehame I don't think he knew Broly was about to revert to base form.
No, he began to regain his senses because she was being pushed outstandingly hard. His eyes came back because he regained his humanity because the primal emotion of fear made him awaken
@@TheMacC117 *Stardust Breaker is factually cooler. Its also a more accurate name. The attack looks like its generated from an entire universe crushed into dust (Stardust) and its a move that utterly destroys the opponent (Breaker) or at least SHOULD. Soul Punisher on the other hand just describes the purpose.
In the fusion reborn movie Gogeta says to Janemba, "every move you make creates an echo; your own bad energy will be your undoing." In addition to that, Gogeta was toying with Omega Shenron, not trying to kill him because he thought he had more time in the fusion, but diffused in 15 mins because of his immense power.
Wouldnt all fusions be shorter then by default since the fusion dance is from yadrat and saiyans are vastly stronger then them? If fusions get shorter the stronger you are then the fusion would last only a coulple of minutes or even seconds if you do it with saiyans

8:35 - Gogeta probably thought that Broly's ever-increasing power would eventually surpass Gogeta Blue's, therefore it's no longer safe to keep him alive.
It's more an anti-evil technique as evidenced by Goku in the end where he says Broly isn't a bad guy. Gogeta might have gone desperate for a moment there seeing no other way to neutralize Broly other than eliminate him.
I think when the move hits you it acts like a slow poison that decays the evil in your soul. Since Janemba was pure evil he disentegrated quite quickly but broly took a long time since he was out of his mind. Which is why when the Big Bang kamehameha (or full force whatever) was fired at him he had his pupils back and was scared of it
Stardust Breaker/Soul Punisher is basically like a Hakai. But only erasing negative energy. That's why Broly didn't get erased, because Broly wasn't evil.
when you need to watch a 10 minute video explaining that a cartoon character who has had two short appearances throws a sparkly ball at his opponent so his moves aren't generic-looking
8:06 i think gogeta was trying to do that the whole fight (goku in his fight with him said he was not evil) but broly was just getting stronger and stronger so they had to finnish it before 1. fusion runs out Or/and 2. Broly becomes too powerfull to gogeta to beat.
Best I can figure: he smiled because he knew he wasn't evil, but he was still going apeshit. It'd probably be easier to kill him now and then bring him back with the Dragon Balls, like they did with Kid Buu.
I agree with the second theory about the move, and Gogeta smiles because he realizes Broly isn’t actually a bad guy, but he is an extremely powerful opponent and the stakes of the battle have been lowered, so the pressure is off. My own head canon is that the move Gogeta uses to finish the fight, he knows it’s not enough to kill Broly, but it is enough to put an end to the fight once he’s had enough.
If you go back and look at SSJ4 Gogeta against Omega Shenron when Omega unleashed the Red Negative Energy Ball and SSJ4 Gogeta kicked it out into outer space. As he stated, "I used my own energy to convert your Negative Enegry Ball into positive." Cleverly a modified form of the Star Dust Breaker.
In my own headcanon I believe the stardust breaker has two functions. One being the cleansing and the other as an attack, if you notice when, Gogeta throws it at, janemba he crushes it before throwing which is the cleansing purpose but when used against, Broly he throws it as an attack.
My thoughts on the Full Force Kamehameha: Gogeta definitely noticed that the Dragon Balls were activated. He looks away from Broly as the sky darkens; basically, there is no way you can say he didn't realize Shenron was summoned. He then probably saw that it was Cheelai who summoned him, and knew that she was trying to save Broly. So he just did a couple of more flashy moves, then only showed Broly his absolute max power once he was certain he would get saved in time. So the Full Force Kamehameha wasn't an attempt to kill, but rather was used to flex his power and go 100% to honor his opponent.
I think in the recent broly movie the stardust breaker was just an energy blast attack Also gogeta smirked after the attack landed but before broly powered up, I think he thought he finished broly off
@@adamtaurusragnathebloodedg8407 I mean sure But but the purpose of the smile wasn't because if broly powering up Because broly didn't power up again until after gogeta smirked and the dragon balls were activated Your reasoning is absolutely valid though
@Sonic thats kinda my point, whatever reason gogeta was smiling it was BEFORE broly powered up, which doesnt align with geekdoms statement in the video, im not trying to criticize or anything im just giving an observation
I feel like it’s the cleansing technique, and I feel like Gogeta smiled because he saw that Broly truly wasn’t evil, but he launched a killing Big Bang Kamehameha because he felt that even though he was good, there was no other way of stopping his enraged outbursts.
I think the move is very similar to the Spirit Bomb, in design and application. The technique seems to gather pure energy to cleanse the opponent of evil, like you had stated. If GT can be a source, Gogeta flooded Omega Shenron's Negative Karma Ball with positive energy, so they could probably form an actual sphere with the energy. In my opinion, it was used against Broly probably to quell his rage and help regain his composure, but it didn't work out quite like that
In 5 seconds, basically Soul Punisher or Stardust Breaker is a move that is supposed to destroy the evil from the body, if the opponent isn't evil the attack will be just like any other Ki Blasts.
My theory is that Gogeta realised he couldn't take down Broly by going soft on him, realising the guy was only getting stronger as the fight went on, and decided to just get serious, regardless of the possibility of killing Broly in the process by doing so.
Stardust was shown in the movie as an easter egg. The move itself dose look real cool, hopefully we can see more of Gogeta in the show, manga, toys and movies.
Gogeta didn’t use the move against Shenron maybe because he was toying with him and since the Big Bang Kamehameha was slowly killing Shenron, Gogeta thought it was the best way and to also toy with Shenron.
I use to think the Stardust Breaker was an evolved version of the Spirit Bomb without requiring other individuals, that technique Goku utilized in "Return of Cooler", and the concept of the Kaioken regarding being pure of heart.
I always imagined that he sort of did the stardust breaker to Omega, when he 'purified' the Minus Energy Power Ball. Obviously not the same thing, but an homage I figured.
Didn’t goku say in z that the spirit bomb kills anyone who has evil in their heart. Same thing right ? So are they one in the same move ?And I always said that about shenron and ss4 gogeta.
Wocxdid keep in mind Final Form Freiza is more then enough to destroy everything around around and in Namek. By all means, even if the nearby planets were to give Goku energy for the Spirit bomb, Frieza should be able to barely tank it. 5e spirit bomb definitely does more damage to pure evil beings like Saiyan Saga Vegeta and Frieza, but if the being in question can easily destroy the environment around, then the bomb shouldn’t be able to kill the being.
@@tyrant1081 im talking about why he tried to kill him not why the stardust breaker didnt kill him i know that the stardust breaker destroys evil but even after seeing broly wasnt evil gogeta still tried to kill him and im saying taht was probably because of his vegeta side

What you learn from this video: Soul Punisher: soap grenade. I know this isn't really appropriate for this kind of video, but I just wanted to make a stupid joke.
@@ajisaac Broly surviving that attack doesn't mean that the attack has any special properties. Imperfect Cell survived Piccolo's Light Grenade, so does that mean that Light Grenade has a special characteristic? My point is that if it was a cleansing technique and nothing else, then it wouldn't have any destructive potential. Sure, it could have a cleansing property, but that's not the entire function of the attack, meaning that it's one part cleansing, and another part big fuck-off bomb. It's not purely for cleansing.
I always thought the move was like a combination of spirit bomb and big bang attack, It seems when gathering energy, all the outside energy looks like it is coming into the sphere rather than just forming there like other attacks and the fact that Goku also raises his hands to gather for the spirit bomb, also sense it dose seem like a cleanser; the spirit bomb was able to not hurt you if you weren't malicious, it can also be used with one hand . For the big bang attack it starts off a small sphere then explodes on impact and it is also used with one hand.
I think the move takes from all of both characters moves hence the rainbow color And I also think it was inspired by the spirit bomb because of the energy particles seen when the move is forming and the fact that it destroys evil. The only reason I think it forms much quicker in comparison to the spirt bomb is because the energy is coming from one source (Gogeta)
7:54 I feel like (just a theory) Gogeta didn't want to take anymore risks, because throughout the fight Broly's power grew in the span of a few minutes. From being on-par with Base Vegeta to overpowering both SSB Goku & Vegeta. Maybe (theory) Gogeta knew he lost control, and was just checking to see if Broly wasn't inherently evil. That way once he killed Broly, they could just use the dragon balls to bring him back to life. I guess it could explain why he *also smiled when he saw that the dragon balls had been used to get Broly away safely.*

Its a HOLY HAND GRENADE.
Pastor please start the prayer
We are going on a quest to kill the rabbit
My theory is this:
1. Gogeta used that move on Broly because he knows it’s a powerful technique and wanted to test it on Broly (as all Saiyans like to do)
2. Gogeta knew that if he didn’t take out Broly his power would keep growing and he would get out of control with his rage (and then Cheelai came in to save him and end the fight)
@TheRSC
To point out your second point, I believe gogeta didnt think cheelai would do such a thing because gogeta seemed a bit suprised when he didn't see broly at all after the kamehameha, or maybe that's just because he thought broly was dead anyway that's what I got out of it.
Lmaooo.. that 1st theory doe😂👌👌
I honestly think Gogeta thought Broly was strong enough to survive his final Kameha. Even if he put Broly on the brink of death, he knew he could give him a Senzu bean seeing as he figured he wasn’t evil.
@@abhirampisipati8384 He did seem happy that Broly was saved, however. So even though he probably was aiming to kill Broly, he's happy he didn't have to and the Earth was no longer in danger.
gogetas vegeta was showing when he wanted to kill broly
And then when broly got saved gogetas goku was showing cuz he can look forward to a stronger opponent from now
I like the concept of fusion
I think the "Stardust Breaker" technique is both a cleansing attack, as well as an attack that damages opponents. I think it would straight up destroy your body if you were pure evil (like Janemba), but if you were mostly good, I think it would just damage you. Although, I guess the attack could still kill an opponent regardless, as long as they were weak enough
cleanses evil hmm
SO THATS WHY BROLYS PUPILS WERE BACK
Yeah he wanted broly to see that he was about to get obliterated with a fucking universe destroyer attack
he wanted him to suffer
No, the only way to bring broly back was to invoke the fear of Death in him.
Gogeta waa like: “You will never reach the truth..”
Broly had no evil in him, goku even said that he doesn’t think Broly was actually a bad guy, he’s just following orders from bad people

i was in a theater that was freaking out when they teased Ultra Instinct, AND they were screaming and one guy throw his popcorn bag at the screen freaking out when soul punisher was shown

Keep in mind that when Gogeta cleansed Janemba he "crushed" the energy in his hand and then tossed it at him but against Broly. The pure orb was thrown

Pure orb Stardust breaker: Flashy and extremely powerful ki blast
I completely agree to you.

I agree with the cleansing technique. Stardust Breaker is to Gogeta as Spirit sword is to Vegito.

Hyperrunner no hate but they already had a mini spirit bomb called spirit ball and I don’t recall gogeta getting energy from someone else.

I didn't like how it was used on broly
cause I feel the soul punisher should be a kill move used on evil
I think the reason why he used it was to test if broly Had any evil in his heart and when it didn't work he was happy about that i think
Goldfire345 Wow, cool theory. It makes sense now why he did not die from it.
Me when younger: Woah, so basically a rainbow spirit bomb!

Bruh that wasn’t a cosmic kamehameha. That was a full force kamehameha

Soul Punisher is factually cooler.

But i prefer stardust breaker sounds more original then soul punisher
@@TheMacC117 *Stardust Breaker is factually cooler.
Its also a more accurate name. The attack looks like its generated from an entire universe crushed into dust (Stardust) and its a move that utterly destroys the opponent (Breaker) or at least SHOULD.
Soul Punisher on the other hand just describes the purpose.
@@jamainegardner4193 Way to waste your time writing a full description of why you're wrong. It's a name for a cartoon attack, let it go.
Toying with Omega so that he'd release his negative energy, then turning it into positive energy.
I believe it was both to joke around and annoy Omega
Wouldnt all fusions be shorter then by default since the fusion dance is from yadrat and saiyans are vastly stronger then them?
If fusions get shorter the stronger you are then the fusion would last only a coulple of minutes or even seconds if you do it with saiyans

I took the smile as him enjoying himself, it makes the most sense to me, at least without a confirmation on it being a cleaning technique
Yo Geekdoms videos stay having me think about stuff I would’ve never thought of 👌🏽
The Stardust Breaker being a cleansing technique makes sense to me just because Broly's pupils show back up soon after he gets hit by it.
Which is why when the Big Bang kamehameha (or full force whatever) was fired at him he had his pupils back and was scared of it
Omg 😲
Stardust Breaker/Soul Punisher is basically like a Hakai. But only erasing negative energy. That's why Broly didn't get erased, because Broly wasn't evil.

man gogeta is so badass that even just a little smirk on his face can make him look cool
The “pause” was pretty hilarious hahahahaha
8:06 i think gogeta was trying to do that the whole fight (goku in his fight with him said he was not evil) but broly was just getting stronger and stronger so they had to finnish it before
1. fusion runs out
Or/and 2.
As he stated, "I used my own energy to convert your Negative Enegry Ball into positive."
Cleverly a modified form of the Star Dust Breaker.
In my own headcanon I believe the stardust breaker has two functions. One being the cleansing and the other as an attack, if you notice when, Gogeta throws it at, janemba he crushes it before throwing which is the cleansing purpose but when used against, Broly he throws it as an attack.
I think this is the most true theory
Why would crushing it change the properties of the attack
My thoughts on the Full Force Kamehameha:
Gogeta definitely noticed that the Dragon Balls were activated.
He was nowhere close to the Dragon to see who summoned him but he probably had a Gut feeling
@@hoshiryu he was probably like "so freeza is still over there bleeding on the floor, which means someone else must've summoned shenron"

@@adamtaurusragnathebloodedg8407
I mean sure
But but the purpose of the smile wasn't because if broly powering up
Because broly didn't power up again until after gogeta smirked and the dragon balls were activated
Your reasoning is absolutely valid though
@Sonic thats kinda my point, whatever reason gogeta was smiling it was BEFORE broly powered up, which doesnt align with geekdoms statement in the video, im not trying to criticize or anything im just giving an observation
2:18 - can we appreciate just how damn well and detailed this frame looks?
In my opinion, it was used against Broly probably to quell his rage and help regain his composure, but it didn't work out quite like that
As a kid i thought stardust breaker was Vegeta's big bang attack mixed with Goku's spirit bomb.
Vegeta is the ultimate short guy that ain't scared of shit , much like a honey badger is .
He's the wolverine.
@@ahmedabdullah4034 he even has the same facial expressions as wolverine from xmen lol
In 5 seconds, basically Soul Punisher or Stardust Breaker is a move that is supposed to destroy the evil from the body, if the opponent isn't evil the attack will be just like any other Ki Blasts.
Gogeta is really in a league of his own.......We have never seen him get smacked on television let alone hit.....
My theory is that Gogeta realised he couldn't take down Broly by going soft on him, realising the guy was only getting stronger as the fight went on, and decided to just get serious, regardless of the possibility of killing Broly in the process by doing so.
The reason he tried to kill broly was probably because he knew he could bring him back and he was out of control
Stardust was shown in the movie as an easter egg. The move itself dose look real cool, hopefully we can see more of Gogeta in the show, manga, toys and movies.
The stardust breaker is a hand grenade made of pure, unadulterated JUSTICE.
If he used it on Omega Shenron it would’ve been like that. Series arc over.
Gogeta didn’t use the move against Shenron maybe because he was toying with him and since the Big Bang Kamehameha was slowly killing Shenron, Gogeta thought it was the best way and to also toy with Shenron.
Facts and let be honest if Gogeta wasn't toying he could have been won
I feel like when he clutches the stardust breaker it turns into soul punisher
The spirit bomb also got tanked by pure evil emperor Frieza.
6:22 if you don't get that where he says poundings you have no soul or just a clean mind
my theory on why gogeta still tried to kill broly is that his vegeta side took over and as we now vegeta doesn't do mercy

Copper it means that it’s purely cleansing you making sure you survive while nuking you.
Didn’t he smiled like that after when he got wished away by the girl using the dragon balls?
No he smiled after he saw that Soul Punisher didn’t work (meaning that he wasn’t evil)
My favorite Gogeta move is still Big Bang Kameha, the sound of that thing going off is epic.
