So you’re telling me not to hit a large bucket with driver trying to break Kyle’s ball speed record ???
Keep smashing! Glory waits for no man….
Sounds like a perfect range session!
😂😂😂😂
😂
Pretty sure he's doing this wrong? Driving range is literally for smashing balls as hard as you can! I'm with bigboy9842.
Watched the video last night, then popped to the range this morning. Bloke three bays down is hitting a wedge, then doing the dynamic stretches. Half way through he turns and notices me doing the same. Peter Finch? he says, I nod, we go back to what we were doing.
I now feel like i'm in a secret club......
I really hope that true 😮
Not many people deliver information in the way you do, always so clear and precise.
This is the content that I search for. Love it. I swear you're gonna make us all better golfers.
Love trackman at the range. So much feedback and lots of variation to keep you entertained. Also allows you to find your distances with each club so you have a guide when out on the course.
Loved this video. Used it today and not only has it meant I’ve had a more productive practice but I also enjoyed it a lot more.
Great video Pete! Something I do on the range is play some shots right handed (I'm a lefty) with my LH clubs. It's been a really helpful practice as I've used it loads on the course when stuck next to a tree etc and can't play it normally and can get me out of trouble without having to take a drop.
Outstanding video Pete! For those golfers that want to get better but live in the real world juggling work, kids, other commitments with often a limited fixed amount of time for golf, it's content like this that has the potential to make a massive difference in the rate at which folks improve, regardless of skill level. Teaching folks the "how" of having a blueprint for their practice with self-directed goals and feedback is often overlooked content.
Perfect timing, I’ve been looking for ways to optimize my range time
Great video and great idea for warming up, keep them coming pete and i like all the swing quest tips 👍⛳
Thanks Pete. I'm going to put this into practice from my next range session.
Great video. I’ll definitely apply some of your ideas. Thanks again Peter.
Yeah this really helped me cheers ive added the turn movement to my preshot routine thanks pete
The top tracer and the in range driving ranges are game changers, it’s so good to see every shot on screen with data. Even better is having the app and and it saving the data to your phone to analyse later. Really improved my practice!
I haven’t played golf for over 5 years due to a rotator cuff boxing injury, I went back to the driving range yesterday and was amazed at the level of stats the Toptracer collects and syncs to your phone, truly a game changer!
To add to your topic, there is a wonderful video (about 10 minutes long) of Bobby Jones doing a warmup/practice session and his comments are invaluable even today. BTW - I much prefer a range session hitting off of grass. Mats have a much firmer surface and I can't get the clubhead down through the ball as well, so I wind up having to adjust my swing and ball position to compensate.
Love it!
I do almost the same. Except I go up odd irons to driver, than down the bag evens (my rythm is:Sam Snead).
Then I "play" nine holes, but I get my putter out, trying to hit the tee peg, from different parts of the matt.
Great idea for a video at this time of year - really like the warm up idea and never thought of that varied practice structure either. Cheers Pete! 👍
Thanks for watching Tom
@PeterFinchGolf this for me is the best video of 2022 👏🏻 really great to watch
Brilliant video! I definitely pitch up to the range with no real plan. Can't wait to give this a go.
Go for it!
Man oh man do I love a good grind session. I almost prefer the range over a round, but nothing beats a birdie on 1 or 18 at my course
Love this video. About to get so dialed in
Enjoyed that immensely. Do very similar using inrange. Will use the driving, great way to improve and tighten up the spread!😂😂
Excellent video. I like the structure of it and I got a few ideas for myself. I wish my range had that kind of tech. We're lucky to just have an automatic ball machine. I like to play around the world with varying targets and yardages. My previous coach and I would play around the world but you would put something on it, beer, money, something. If you hit the green move on to the next. If you miss you can risk another one. If you miss again back to the beginning. First one to go all the way around and back wins.
Great videos your banter is top notch
Very useful how to practice Peter makes it easier for me thank you, Cheers .
Good video 👍🏼
Effortless beauty , that swing Pete
Amazing video Peter, really going to use these tips on my golf sim at home during my practice sessions. Thanks!
Have fun
@@peterfinchgolf absolute legend! Thanks for the reply
Great session. Top job
Having the Top Tracer app and range near me has really helped. As a high handicapper its getting me to think and plan more. I play the T30 and have seen my range game improve - last night I got my Personal Best, 20.2 handicap versus my actual handicap of 27.4. Looking forwards to taking this onto the course!
Heya, I tried the T30 as well. Does it make any difference what handicap you put in initially? I do not have a handicap so I just put in 30. Does it affect anything?
Petes swing in spectacular! That tempo is sooooo smooth
@Pete, as you've given me so much golfing knowledge over the years, please allow me to return the favour with some coffee related info. The reason cappuccino is considered a "morning" coffee is because of the amount of milk in it. Historically, the Italians were quite lactose intolerant, so they would have their nice sweet, milky coffee in the morning and switch to espresso/ristretto in the afternoon. As the years went on, even though as a nation they became more tolerant to milk, the "tradition" continued and that's literally all it is now. Part of the validation of this is the latte, which is relatively speaking, a recent invention, has more milk, yet the rule doesn't apply to it ☕ So, you have my authority (check the surname lol) to drink whatever coffee you enjoy, whenever you'd like to enjoy it #CoffeeIsTheBestWarmUp
Nice to see you putting out content again. Where you been bro?
Excellent mr finch! Always good to get a range with the software, great feedback. Also a range with good coffee….hard to come by sir🤷🏻🤙🏻
Next time, try the simmons theory. Place the ball tray behind the hitter. This will take all those balls out of your vision of sight. Rake or place one ball at a time to a position in front of you. This now is what you see on the T box and fairway. This will now improve your tempo and rhythm as you strike each ball. Practice what you see on the course as too one ball. More tips if your interested. Enjoy your lower scores
Brilliant video! With the swing plate, are you just lining this up with the shaft of the club you’re hitting?
Great video Pete that makes so much sense at the driving range, so many different shots, pure class 👌🏌♂⛳
I am happy stetching at the range. I'm not getting any younger and it makes a huge difference to my swing.
Keep up the good work, Pete.
Loved this! There’s a TopTracer range near me and it’s very hard not to just spend 90 balls on the long drive mode. I use the general warm up to see my shot shapes and try new things. Then I’ll take those feels onto a virtual 9 holes.
Where are these places? I live in a big city and know of no place that offers anything like this?
My only gripe with the virtual golf on top tracer is I'll frequently be 10 yards from the green on my 3rd shot on a par 4 and when I chip it in unless you hole out it'll bogey you even if you drop it within a foot.
@@Mike-yt7py it's a weird system that rewards very good shots but punishes average shots. So I've found that if your approach is < 33 yards then you'll have a chance at the chipping mini game. If you're on the green then you can go for any designated flag, with varying levels of difficulty for a birdie. But if you're just off the green, then you only get the very closest pins and you practically have to HIT the pin to get any par or birdie. I still find it fun but it could be integrated better.
Been working on my irons lots at the range and getting into a good position at impact, been striking them the best I ever have. Driver now feels completely alien to me 😂🙃 what a game it is
Another great video - merry Christmas everyone 😊
That driving range is amazing. I just wish I was a little bit closer there's nothing like that around me. Here's hoping someone cottons on there's a real niche here!! Lovely practice session swing looks tip top.
Here goes Finchy. I’ve watched endless videos on how to improve various facets of my golf (only 6 months into the journey, come from a very sporting background and struggling to come to terms with how slowly I’m improving, if I am at all).
Found a good coach for lessons locally recently but the changes to my grip and swing and very hard work. Ball striking consistently is diabolical and after some rounds I want to pack it in.
But I know I’m not alone. Need to learn to enjoy golf even when I’m not playing v well, but easier said than done!
Love the content mate. Keep the gym up 💪
Get out now while you can!!
Brilliant stuff Pete. In terms of motor-skill development your fixed and varied practice really describes elements of what is called blocked vs random practice. Blocked is ok for practicing a skill but random practice is far better for retention and applicability.
Yeah same thing different terminology
Love watching theses
what a beautiful swing... love finch !!!
Beeches range is my favourite range, lovely welcoming facility and those srixon range balls make all the difference
Quality range, glad this opened up as my local range 👍🏻
I was on the range today and did do a warm up but yours makes a lot more sense. This is really invaluable, already booked back in for tomorrow to give this a go. Thank you!
Great to hear!
I love the rhythm of Pete's swing
Adare !! Liffey !!
JP would be too impressed 😂😂
great video
Really enjoyed that video. What was the FJ jacket you had on? Love fall golf and that looked great for cooler weather
Great video. I really like the advice to spend 30 balls warming up. It's easy to get intimidated and think you have to step in and hit the first ball hundreds of yards with your driver.
Reassuring to see the first part of the session is very much what I do. After that it depends on what I'm trying to achieve, but having that 30 ball warm up is really important.
What a beautiful range
Love it. Unfortunately, Las Vegas doesn't have modern driving ranges other than TopGolf.
I get my practice at my clubs practice area; not the best layout etc but it works for me. And to be honest I stick to the short clubs only; #8, #9, PW and GW. At my age and with my game those are the clubs I need to be good at.
Great plan to take to the range.
Pretty much all I do down the range is the nearest the pin game on the track man range thing and I like playing the little part three course a few times . Hardly hit a driver . Love nearest the pin game
Excellent tips. I'll be spending a bunch of time in the simulators over the winter to keep myself sharp and I typically move myself around the different practice areas to treat it like I'm playing a round. Practicing like that definitely helps, as it's more usable on the course later.
Well done Pete 👏
Very good advice. Love this content. I thought my local, public range was nice with top tracer. Never mind this posh one with robots and trackman 😍
😂 top tracer is posh enough
Love this video!!! Great to show how grind, when I go to the range I just wack the balls endless 😂
Great little tip as more trackman ranges have been opening up in the northern US! Also great to see that SIM back in the bag 👀
It was for that night 😂
@@peterfinchgolf well hey after a few of those bombs, might need to work its way back in 😂. Its funny these past few months i started copying you're driver stance with your toes pointed out, and the results are immediate! longer and more importantly more accurate
I’ve been playing for less than a year but I love going to the track man driving range, choosing the 9 hole course and if there’s a shot I want to keep practising I just press ‘mulligan’ over and over until I’m happy, then move on.
My varied practice is to play my home course in my head, I scope the flags & targets, usually have a card in my bag for the total yardages, if I miss my targets I'll play varied chips or pitches as required.
So I've just been fitted correctly for the very first time. I've been fitted into t200 project x 6.5 125g shafts. From using ksb 90 shafts for many years. I am hitting my target line but the ball flight seems to be very high and feels like the ball is ballooning into the air and turning over left.
Any good tips to help getting used to feeling with a heavier/stiff shaft?
With the swing plane while working on driver on the down swing can you go under the stick to help with a slice?
Would love to have a range like that near me. Would have liked to know how expensive it was for that 100 balls because I was surprised at how quiet it was. Has to be a lot cheaper though than a 1 hour trackman session with your Pro!.
This is actually good suggestions..
Call out shot shapes? Hahah, at my handicap, the shot shape I am aiming for is, in the air and sort of straight. Great video though, will definitely be hitting the range with this video soon.
Please could we get a link or idea of what iPhone holder/stand you’re using Pete? 👍🏼
I don’t have a top tracer range anywhere near me. But I have access to Foresight simulator’s. I wish we had an outdoor range like that though.
Need to find a driving range near me that has a similar set up with launch monitor info and video in order to do the same. Your practice session is not long but is methodical, which gives it purpose. So you're not wasting your time just hitting ball randomly as most of us do, which doesn't improve your game at all.
Nice tan sinbad ⛳️👍
How do you set the angle for your swing. Does it change with every club
Peter, what kind of phone holder do you have for your tripod? Great video.
that place looks elite
Pete, you should get a meta quest 2 VR set. Amazing fun with the Golf + game and different courses to play on.
One thing I like to do is hit as many clubs I can to 100 yards or close to. From fairway metals to wedges. For when I get stuck in a situation that needs that. I like to practice shots I get myself into on course. Under a tree, going around a tree, have to go over something.
I like to do career mode as the tactical “viewer”, so i don’t play physically, does these sliders work as well for tactical view career mode?
When I hit balls I just act as if I'm playing the golf course that I'm about to play next and I start out on what would be the 1st hole which is typically a driver. I'll pick a spot and based on how I hit that shot I think go to whatever club I think I'll have into that hole and so on from there. This to me makes much more sense because in a round of golf you NEVER hit the same club twice in a row so I don't see why you ever would on the driving range. I watch guys hit the same iron 15 times in a row and it just doesn't make any sense. It's just what works for me.
Does it make a difference or not whether you wear golfing trousers to the range? Will it make the practice session better
oh my god thank you!! my sessions have been so unproductive recently!!
I wish I had a place to practice near me. Especially something like this one
Love all these tips. 1 thing I do differently though is actually something I got from Fred Cupples. Instead of starting out with wedge, I’ll start with more of a mid iron (7,8or6, alternating every time) As someone who is sore often and also struggles with a bad back like boomboom, I’ve found it works better for getting initially warmed up and limber. Usually something like 7i, pw, 4i, 3wood,driver, first tee club but Like I said though, I’ll alternate the clubs so I don’t wear out/practice with the same clubs every time. ⛳️🧙♂️💭
Hi Pete, what tripod do you use for your phone?
Where did you get that angled alignment stick?? And the name of it.
so many good points made in this video thank you ❤️
Are the trackman on timers like they are at range next to the Trafford Centre?
Just wondering why are you back to the Sim2 instead of your stealth+?
He has been using the Rouge st
What phone tripod do you use Pete?
Pete, love the channel, but just wanted to say, if you had intended for your spelling of ‘practice’ to be for the US audience, then it’s correct, but if it’s for the UK audience, then it should be ‘practise’ with an -se. Apologies - English Teacher 😂 keep up the great videos 👍
Its the River Maigue in the manor but close enough champ :)
I’d be interested in your views on the new 18 club rule. How will you choose what to add if anything?
New 18 club rule?
Cold
any dairy free options for the coffee finch?
Without having a couch , I find hitting irons of a mat actually ruin my feel and form, hitting driver's off tees seem to be the only positive from a range session that doesn't have turf..IMO
The river Liffey 🙈🙈 must think it's the only river in Ireland 🤣🤣
Hey ur using the sim 2 again
Literally came here yesterday for the first time and did rubbish im sure ill do better after this video
