My Asian ass is learning so much about hair care on your channel. While I don't have curls, the lesson about hair texture, porosity, how to choose the right shampoo and conditioner, heat, etc...have greatly helped me growing my hair and keeping it healthy. I love your videos and I really appreciate you. ❤️
I love how your kid come out of nowhere in most of your videos and disappear into thin air the next minute. I look forward to seeing her in your videos honestly, she's sooo refreshing. ❤️
Thanks Linwood....after years of being to told my hair was corse, I finally realizing that this is not the case. My hair is very dense but fine strand and can't not handle too much manipulation. This fact has taken many adjustments because, l love to which up my hair.

This is so good! I really never even considered comparing hair to spaghetti but this was genius work! I really need to work on being as gentle with my hair as possible. Linwood, you are a gift! Periodt! ❤❤❤
This...this is the best visual I’ve seen. It helps me a lot when dealing with my spaghetti headed children, who have dense hair that is a bit finer than mine. Relating the water temperature to the blow dryer & flat iron temps, and it all makes perfect sense. I no longer bake cookies when I dry or flat iron my hair! I been delivered!
@@GetGlamFam For years now. You always remind me of something as a fine dense 4c chick with 2 girls also 4c. My youngest has lighter brown hair (I call her 4/33 ha) so I really needed those videos about your daughters hair care.

I wish I found your channel two years ago but glad I'm here now. Love your content, you really have the heart of a teacher. Thank you from someone who didn't know better but looking forward to doing better :)
I am learning SOOOO much about hair watching your videos, and of course, as an Italian, I just LOVE the spaghetti analogy, LOL. If only I had known this information when my son, whose daddy is black, was small-but hey, I did my best. ;) Thanks to you, I DID go to Sally's and buy protein treatment and deep conditioning for my high porosity type 2b silver hair, who knew? No wonder my hair breaks after a certain length-now maybe it will grow a little more. Got your free hair guide too! Much Love from New Mexico to you and your beautiful Glam Family!
thank you for this analogy, having very fine hair, and tender scalp, i stop going to hair dressers decades ago. maybe now they have a better undersanding, of very fine thick hair. appreciate the time and effort, you give the education we need to make the right choice for our hair types.
I am so glad to see someone that is licensed and looks more like me. The explanations you gave were incredible. Im also licensed and try to educate clients (and sometimes other cosmos) as much as I can. Now I can use pasta to explain. Thank you.
This was such a good lesson . I will listen again. I wish i could vist you just once. Now that im a senior citizen with graying thin hair low porosity, one visit with you would benefit me greatly . Thank you for the info. God bless.
I Love the way you explain everything like dummy proof. Now I also know that I have fine hair, high porosity hair due to colouring my hair and I don’t know what else but I’m still in class, so keep teaching.
Aww your babies! I love babies. Especially when they interrupt parents trying to record for YT! Lol. The cutest. And your explanation is so on-point. I have all three different textures. It’s a headache to deal with. Not using plant proteins has helped my hair immensely, as well as the water I use. (New subbie here. Love your info.)
Thank you Linwood....... This WAS a real teaching moment! I am NOT a fan of the flat iron OR silk pressing. I've seen a new stick like product that is applied to clean dry hair then followed by heat. This reminds me of grease and straightening combs. The more things change......the more they stay the same.🤔 My goals are: Healthy strands Healthy scalp Length retention I'm 6 months into my 3 year journey. Keep sharing the knowledge........🖤
I'm suppose to be recovering from my surgery today, but here I go clicking on this video. I loved it! You were so clear in your explanations that I stopped the video several times to take notes. I'm "Angel Hair pasta". Something that I discovered in the early 90's, but she did not elaborate or give me any additional information on how to care for my hair. At the time I was perming and rinsing color with her. She knew that I was also heat styling my hair. This information could have really helped me maintain my hair health. Now, that you've cleared up so many of my misconceptions about how I am suppose to handle my hair, I think that I can now have, healthier and stronger hair. I might even be able to increase its retention too, though genetics will play a part. So my high porosity colored is thin and fine and I will take my chances with coloring it because I'm not willing to go gray. But, if I can reduce the split ends it will help me in retention. These issues magnify on wash day in the matting of my hair. So, what do you suggest for my wash day preparation to prevent tangles? And is it okay to use a sealant with petroleum on the hair shaft and not the scalp? For fighting split ends? The reason that I'm asking is because I ran across an article suggesting that use of it will assist in detangling hair. It did work, and the suggestion was to keep the sealant in the hair to keep it free of split ends. I still use the SeaButter line that you used in your video for high porosity so I was wondering. Sorry to write a script let's blame it on a side effect of the anesthesia. Thanks Linwood again for sharing your expertise with us. I also wish that I could pay for a consultation. You and Alison would be a dream to work my hair.
Hi Mr. Linwood(I hope I spelled your name correctly). I love your videos. As a 51yo black woman, I'm having to start growing my hair back. Up until a couple of years ago I had thick hair that reached a couple of inches below my shoulders. Even though I had a relaxer since I was 18 and had my hair dyed blond with platinum streaks and wore up dos most of that time, my hair was holding up well. I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease and in the beginning my hair did not seem stressed. Two years ago it all came apart. The hair on the left side of the back of my head broke. It was about and 1 long. The rest of my hair started thinning. I had it cut, went natural and just couldn't handle the upkeep. I have no energy at all. So, when it got thicker, I re-relaxed and colored it. My stylist and I split ways after 20 years. So, I've found a new stylist who is going to help my with the natural hair. She does a lot of protective styling. I don't like the way that leave-in conditioners my my hair feel gummie, especially when I'm giving my hair a break from braids. To comb through my hair, what would you suggest. I keep my scalp oiled, but I don't get my hair washed weekly. Sorry so long, but I am thoroughly lost. I've got to relearn how to french braid, but even when she does a braid down, she adds in a little extra hair.
This was great! I just automatically put my flat irons on the hottest setting (450) and thought I could just deep condition later, but I can see now once the heat damage is done, it is too late. THANKS!
Thanks so very much Linwood for the live video on hair texture. You're the best teacher boo🎉❤️💕 now I gat to go sleep before I become pastaless😴 it's 2:27am here. Once again thank you

I have thin strands but I also have high density 4c hair. So i usually go for creams and butters cause the work well for me. Never tried a liquid leave in, I might experiment with it tho🤔
OMG a video for this dummy, as deeply NEEDED, thank you & in hopes I understand correctly as I have dementia/cOnFuSiOn & try to ask for help from the people at the salon, but they're NOT always so helpful as needed... I believe I have low porosity, as it dries to fast, but in other areas takes longer... I also have "silver grayish fine hair", the only time I use any heat is when I do my weekly hair mask, many times I oil my hair & sleep with a plastic cap & a regular cap, next day I wash, sometimes I use a bought hair mask or avocado, banana etc, or something else... Only time I use heat is when I do a mask. Then I use a hot towel from the dryer, but have on a cheap plastic cap & my Turbie Twist towel, then put my 2 heated towels, back & forth over my head for about 20 minutes, which I understand now, that's not good for my thin hair, easily knots & bReAkS as mentioned... Only time I use my diffuser is when it's late & I know I can't go to bed with any wet hairs, but this is only once in a blue moon... So instead of using the dryer towels, then just put on my thin cheap cap & my Turbie Twist towel on my head for 20-30 minutes & so the hair mask can do its job that way instead of heat... I've noticed my hair is so dry & I need a lot of Jojoba oil, then my hair is softer, except about 2" at the ends, needs more Jojoba oil & my hair is nice & soft when I do this, but I lose a lot of my curly curls, except not at the ends of my hair, deep breath, so I know I NEED more haircuts, which is not easy on a strict budget, so have no choice, but to go to a cheaper hair stylist/salon... This is a novel, SORRY, but the only way I can explain & in hopes "learn", blushing... Loves, hugs & C ya Boo...
