Another note on Insane Bravery: if the CK or Nid rules do end up forcing additional Battle Shock tests in the command phase for units that are forced AND are below half strength, Insane Bravery only allows them to auto pass one of those tests. So if they auto pass the first, they still have to roll the second
not quite, the Tyranid rule triggers in the Command Step, whereas Insane Bravery can only be triggered in the Battleshock Step only... so you can't use Insane Bravery against the Tyranids Test! Whereas Chaos Knights Test occurs specifically in the Battle-shock step, so Insane Bravery can be used.
@@eskhaphey2873 Right, but that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying you can only use a stratagem once per phase, so if Nids or CK force two tests they can only auto-pass one of the two, regardless of the specific timing within the command phase.
@@alecryan5962 yep, though we would need clarification to whether Insane Bravery can be used on an already Battle-shocked unit, or whether it can only be used on a non-battle-shocked unit that has just failed a test.
I think I'm actually going to do it. Iv always wanted to play knights because bigger models = better But I never have because they've never been that good (I'd rather not play all wardogs) And now it seems like they will at least be in the middle of the pack if not towards the top. They sure as heck look better than tyranids. So here we go, ima do it
@cherubael5029 my knights are going to be the coolest knights ever. Lucky bonus is that these models are large enough that I can actually do a good job painting them
Regarding Insane Bravery and holding objectives: I think it's a bit ambiguous because it would make more sense if you made the battle-shock test before scoring. However, the leaked page of the Core Rules also explicitly states "Then, if you have any other rules that need to be resolved in the Command Phase, you do so now before progressing to the battle-shock step." which seems like scoring would occur before testing battle shock. The fact that any rule in the command phase is handled before the batlte-shock step is also vitally important for Necrons, who will reanimate wounds and models with the Reanimation Protocol before checking whether the unit is half-strength.
The OverWatch stratagem says that you can use it at the beginning or the end of a charge, but isn't the end of a charge a unit that's in engagement range of another unit?
I think there should be a caveat for the heroic intervention not working on tanks. If you have a commissar in the tank who has a power sword he should be able to use the "Drive me closer! I want to hit them with my sword!" rule which makes it that the tank can then use heroic intervention and the commissar gets to attack as well.
Wow so you could heroic intervene with a walker and then tank shot ? Wonder what order that would be? You cant attack and interrupt flow of the charging unit but will your mortal wounds from tank shot hit before normal sequence. Maybe I missed you saying it as I’m multitasking right now but if it does that’s great and could shut down heavy hitters possible.
Hopefully someone sees this, but does "go to ground" overrides any innate invulnerable saves from an unit? For example, if the unit has 4+ invul and a 3+save does the 4+ invul get replaced by a 6+ save?

Great video man! You really did a fantastic anylisis about all the Stratagems. Kudos
Smoosh is such a great word in the context of 40k. I need to use it more.

I think that is to allow overwatch with pistol classed weapons (or a tank with normal weapons) for the unit that's getting charged
Disagree with the tank shock stategm being declared before the charge roll it says after a unit has made a successful charge roll.

it is *kind of* weird that tanks can't do it - feels very arbitrary
like walkers being able to tank shock while monsters can't

Another awesome video!!
New ow only hitting on 6’s seems like a big nerf to the strat
Curious as to why torrent weapons auto hit during OW. The rule specifically states that the weapons hit on a 6 irrespective of the weapons BS skill??
Torrent weapons don't use BS at all; they skip the hit roll step intirely.
Is this the strip Don super simple game I've been told about?
I don't like the new overwatch, i feel like glasscannon melee armies are being punished hard.
6s to hit are punishing?
wait. so i can use my flamethrowers with overwatch from 24 inch instead of their normal 12?
No, the weapons you fire still must be eligible to target the unit you're overwatching
