This battle of the brands shows you the "real" widths of the most common 12.5" wide tires! If you've ever wondered why the side wall stretch looks different on an Atturo vs a Toyo, or a Nitto vs a Mickey Thompson, this should answer your question.

Ive always liked the large puffy tires on small/medium wheels with bead-locks.
Make a video on tire widths vs rim widths. For example mounting a 12 wide on a 10inch wide rim. The difference between same rim with a 14 wide instead.
Check out our "Match Up" series, We've got what your looking for!
yea, i really need this too. i looked at the match videos but its all huge rims with various tires. id love to see a video that goes into how to calculate what is or is not safe. i cant seem to find any useful info online about this topic. smaller rims, not the huge dubed out style but for those of us who would have maybe a factory rim and be looking to go larger - just how wide can you go?
@@CustomOffsetsTV you should mount a nitto trail grappler 35 12.5r 20 to a 9 wide, 10 wide, 12 wide and a 14 wide.
Damn, I has been mecanic for over 20 years and I know all this sh*t
But still here I am sitting in My sofa a beautiful sunny day and watching RUclips,..
These videos are great!
You are so good at explain and you have the wheels to show how it looks. 👍
(I hope I spelled everything right, I'am from Sweden, greetings 👋)
Mr Olsen its SHIT. not sh*t
@benz merc Yea i saw that misspelling now😂
The reason they have Skinny tires in some fields is so they don't drive over the crops😉
I would say that it all depend on what type of ground you'r driving on, sometimes you need Skinny tires to get down where the traction is.
And sometimes you need fat tires to float on top of it because it's too deep..
@benz merc Yea the rice fields are wet but since they can walk there aswell I don't think it's so soft on the bottom.. and they use really light tractors.
They use these Skinny tires in some other farming too when they grow crops in lines, when for example spraying fertilizers.
Excellent demonstration really good info. Once again you guys knock it out of the park! Thank you
"Sh*t I never knew" has to be the most helpful and informational series on RUclips. I don't care if its a 5 min video or 30 min one I will watch. Love the intro and how everything is not only explained but shown. Looking forward to buying a wheel/tire combo from you all one day.
Thanks for the info!! Also, love the drywall and framing square! 👌
I put 275/70s (9.5 max width) on 18x10s. Looks and works perfectly! One shop refused to mount them.
4 new 275s were $200 cheaper than 295s.
really glad to hear you'll be doing this same comparison with AT's soon.
Sweet now I got a better idea for what will fit my Yukon XL. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos...
Great content, can you guys do a weight comparison video between the tires?
Would love to see this on nitto terra grappler g2s just bought wheels and tires from you guys all mounted up and loving them
You get what you pay 4, the Toyo and Nitto tires are more expensive, but they are actually the size they claim 2 be. The Atturo tires are cheap partially because they lie about their actual sizes.
Great video!!!...I always thought how come my 35x12.50r17 tires never truly measure 12.5 across the tread.
Im glad you guys listening to the people requests.I put that topic in the air on a past comment
Can you include the Cooper Discoverer STT Pro in some of your videos? I'd like to see how it compares, holds up, etc. I just put a set of them in 295/55R20 on some 20x9 XD Series Buck 25s. I think they run pretty wide even though they aren't a 12.5 wide. I went with them because I like the look and promise of good mileage, but couldn't find much info in them. Thanks!
For anyone that is in the market for graps or open countries . on my 14 wide rim the graps 13.5 wide looked stretched but the open countries 13.5 wide were flush.
Great video, I'd like to see one on metric vs standard sizes like 295/65r20 vs 35 12.50 20 especially the ridge grapplers 😉
Joe A well a 295 is only 11.6” wide so you’d need to use a 315/60r20 to compare properly
Can you make a video on 14 wides similar to this one?
I like the Micrometer for the tires... where did you buy that?
That MotoMetal has been mounted on that Toyo for so long 😂😂
I run 37 12.5 r 20s AMP AT on a 6 inch rough country and the only way I have found for that size to fit is to run a 9 wide. I know it's not super cool but if you run an AMP at then it turns out to be like 13.1 wide so it takes out that skinny skip leg day look and no rub and bigger tires. Which also means I'm the tallest f150 on a 6 inch lift.
Nice video very helpful
You guys should use a fabric measuring tape it can fold to the exact measurements
you read my mind, thank you gentleman!!! i would like to see the AMP thrown in there.
No love for the Falkens? For the price that brand is I'd say right in the sweet spot, but hey, if I'm the only one running em, I'll be the only one buying em lol
Alan Diaz i run them on both of my trucks the mt1 for fun and at3 for high way
Just ordered some at3's. 18.4/32 tread depth sold me. Kind of heavy compared to stock, hope it don't hurt fuel milage and power too much.
Can't wait to get some ridge grapplers on my chev. Love the look and the ride. Plus I get a wick deal through work in the spring. Cost -50% for employees.
Question: Could I run 33X12.5-18's on OEM wheels that are 18X7.5?
Good shit Shawn-Again. Thanks
Awesome info
I want to know actual heights also!
Can you do a vid for us Jeep guys that like to go opposite of low profile to the high profile side. 16 inch rims with 33 to 35's. Which is the best tire-rim combo for that?
Check our gallery out for ideas! bit.ly/2A7uyv2
i love these episodes shit i never knew keep up the good work.
i love these guys great guides well explained buying my wheels and tires soon
I'd like to see this comparison using 33x12.50r18 and 325/60r18 as the sizes.
Love toyo mts ran them on a 20x10 looked sick as hell
Hey man , I’m actually being serious because I’ve been curious about those tires. How do they perform or don’t in off-road situations. Especially like here in Louisiana, where it’s some bad shit with mixtures of mostly mud also most of the time off-road some spots like we call
“ Gumbo mud “ ??
Im down to either the Ridge Grap or Toyo RT on 2.5F/1R 2018 Silverado leveling. Im waiting for email back on lip sizes of my final 6 rim choices in 20x10. Oh tire will be 33x12.5xR20
I wanna know how the interco SSm16 compares to these
Can you guys do a height war on 35s who has the most tread making the tallest tire
I got 35 x 13.5 on 12 wides, they are perfect!
WC Duner what rim size?
I really think Im gonna run those nitto ridge grapplers. It seems like such a nice tire being a hybrid.
Hi
I got 07 Sierra 2500hd Duramax new body style using 285/75/18 But Robin a lot wen turn and with the plow is worse. can somebody help with Suggestion please the stock look like Donuts 245/75/16 thanks
Can y'all do a video about ironman county mt 35/12.5/20r thats what I'm running. Want to know your opinion on them
The Ironman All Country MTs are very decent tires for people that spend a lot of time offroad! You can check them out here:

Thanks, Mike!
What are the chances you guys could add tire width to the searchable features in the gallery? The information is there already, just not useable to tailor the results
We hope to add this in the future! Trust us we know!
Hello I’m new to you you tube channel but I really like it . My question is what is the best all around rim size in a 20” rim 20x9 or 20x10 tire choice would be 305/55/20 or 33/12.50/20 or 35/12.50/20 so what rim would give you the best option no matter what tire you choose
20x9 or 20x10 would be fine James. Check our 20" wheels out here- bit.ly/2oV1myz
The nitto grapplers have larger wall treads on one side I believe .
Do you do anything with dually wheels? looking for something for my 17 F-350 that doesn't stick out past my rear quarters flares in a 20
Yes we do Michael! head to customoffsets.com/quote and we'll get you dually info!!
Bulge is best. Protects your wheels and it doesn't look weird. Stretched is completely impractical and looks terrible. My tires are always 2 inches wider than the wheels. 20x10 on 12.5 width is the way to go.
Hayden stretched tells me you a pavement princess and don't use your truck....seen a Duramax with like 3 grand in shit try to hook a camper and and couldn't because the weight wouldn't hold rim off ground ....also seen em strike curbs n shit when slid in snow and rolled the bead
I agree. what tires are you running?
I’ve got 15.50 on 15x10s
Can you mount a 35x12.5 r18 ridge grap on a 8" wheel?
you can! here are some examples - www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery?wheel_width_from=8.0&tire_height_from=35q&sort=date
Question I have a 2017 Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax Highcountry. and want to change wheels/tires to get a little more aggressive stance. I do however have to park inside a garage at work (standard parking garage) and do not want to get a lot of height change. I run 20" tires now. Maybe a different tire? Stock rims?....any suggestions guys?
Frosty, there are tons and tons of options, best bet is to start in our gallery! - bit.ly/2d8v0uk
I'm really interested in the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. Do y'all sell them? If you do, can you please give your opinion? They have a great price point and are really good looking. Would appreciate y'alls expertise
check 'em outt here- www.customwheeloffset.com/buy-wheel-offset2?tire_brand=Falken&tire_model=WildPeak+AT3W&page=1 as for a review on those, reviews on google would be your best bet!
Anyone run the falken wildpeak mt
Good to know when your truck can't fit a true 35×12.5 but it can fit a tire that says 35×12.5 and measures a little narrower like the atturo
See now it would have changed it all completely again had you guys chose one single set of four 20×12 wheels and mounted them all and then tested.
Does anyone of those aggressive tires comes in 13.50 wide, I am looking for something aggressive to fit my 20x12 -44 offset wheels....?
Check out 13.5's for 20" wheels here Rich! - www.customwheeloffset.com/store/tires?sort=instock&diameter_from=20&ratio_from=13.5
what is better on a f150 2018 with a 6" bds lift, 35x12.50r22 Vs 325/50r22 this would be on 12 wide rim -44?
Check out our gallery and see what other people put on their 2018 f150:

Can you run all terrain tires on after market wheels?
yes you can
Question can I run 40 15.50 24 on a 24x10 rim? Please would like to know
You can, but it'll be super bubbly
Think a shop would mount 265/75s on a 12 wide?
We've done it, it is stretched though
What about mud grapplers
My local tire shop don't carry federal couragias at the moment because apparently there having problems with the cords breaking have y'all heard about this?
Krypticate havent had any issues with mine.
we haven't had that issue Krypticate
They are a crapshoot.
With the 10" wide wheel, is it a 20"? What is the backspacing?
10" wide wheels come in a variety of sizes. Check them out here- bit.ly/2DZUXf2
Custom Offsets could I run 255 80 r17 on my stock jk Rubicon (stock tire is a 255 75) or would I rub at full flex?

Second tire nitro trail grappler is 10 3/4" not 11 1/4"
Can a tyre come off the rim? Say a 20x9 with a 33x12.5?
I want a side wall but I'm mostly a road driver, but I want the wide mud look with my 20x9 I've got
33x12.5 would fit just fine on a 20x9!
I want to run the Atturo 35x12.5R20 on stock 8" wide wheels. Even with the XT being more narrow, is it still too wide for my stock wheels?
That size would fit fine on a 8" wide wheel!
@@CustomOffsetsTV Thanks for the reply. I will be ordering my tires soon.
Will a 35x12.5x20 fit on a stock ram 1500 without rubbing?
For stock wheels and stock ride height Eric, forums have covered that style fitment since the beginning of the internet! Hit up some forums!!
what size tire can i get that will provide a small bulge on 22x12?
a 13.5" would be your best bet Corbin, as it gives it a meatier look, and adds protection to the lip of your wheel!
Provide all those tires are the same size because of the lugs are they all the same height?????
It’s a good possibility!
Can I run a 13" wide nitto trail grappler on a 20x9 wheel?? Looking to run 325/60r 20 Thanks great videos
Sure can!
@@CustomOffsetsTV Thanks Brother! Keep up the good videos.
I wanna see a 20x10 wheel on a BFG AT KO2 35x12.5 tire.
Johnny Alvarez Bfg AT KO2 is the most sold tire in California. They should included it in there video.
I plan to mount a 14 wide tire on an 8.25 wide wheel. Hope its safe to drive on
You can mount it, however i would not particularly use that setup on a daily driver as that is a lot of bulge
@@CustomOffsetsTV what i was wondering. Its (was) going on my 2ton
So can I fit a 35x12.5xR18 on a 8”xR18” rim
Yes, lots of people do!
I subscribe.
New jeep owner: my lift guy told me he can run 35/12.50s on my stock 7.5 wide wheel. Is that bad for the tire? Can I get away with that without causing damage or losing tire life?
No it is okay to have a nice tire bulge overhanging your wheels, it protects the wheels to a point and should not cause any damage or loss of tread life as long as they are at the correct psi
255/85/16 or 255/80/17. Ditch the sick-ey dope wheels
What is you all's opinion on bfg km3? Im looking at new tires for my super duty. In size 275 65 R 20 or maybe 295 65 R20. Does anyone one know mile life expectancy? Maybe 30-40k miles with proper rotation? My truck will be carrying about 1,500- 2,000 lbs in the bed all the time. Its a 2010 f-350 srw with v-10. I will be driving 80% hwy and 20% dirt/mud/rocky roads.
Weve heard a lot of good things about the km3s! And the life expectancy would be determined, everybody drives differently on different terrain. Check them out here~

Lot of kids these days forget you need sidewall for grip to, but then again they are all road warriors anyway lol
That’s what dirt bikes and SxS’s are for 🤘🤘
@@CustomOffsetsTV lmao
How do I make my 2016 Silverado 1500 with 35X12.50X20 tires and 20X9 rims sit flush or match the width depth of the front tires? Looks funny that the back doesn't match the front...BTW bad ass channel you helped me decide on buying the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and feel like I'm driving a damn Cadillac vs my old MUD tires when driving 70mph to my ranch!
What size lift are you running David?
6 inch lift PRO COMP.
1.5" spacers in the rear is what's common to use to get the rears out as far as the front!
Custom Offsets that would require cutting right? I don't want to cut anything. Also if I leave alone will that do anything to tread wear?
David Flores
You don't need to trim or cut anything on the back tires when adding spacers, that's more common on the fronts because they turn.
The 2 on right look like bicycle tires!!
Anyone know if I can put 10.5 wide on a 8 wide rim?
Yes you can that should fit just fine!
Custom Offsets thanks I’m trynna throw some 31’s on my jimmy but I found a rim I wanted and the tire I wanted and sum didn’t add up but it’ll work thanks
Custom Offsets can you make a video explaining why people don't go for the small wheel big tire look anymore for lifted trucks?
Like is it just styling?
Is it engineering/safety etc.?
Personal preference/ Styling. AND, most trucks now have larger brakes so you can't go below stock size, which is usually 18+
^ looks, most big trucks come with 20's as a standard option. Plus most full sizes need an 18 or larger for the breaks if it has low offset stock wheels. I don't even think you can get a modern truck with smaller than a 17 any more. Even on the tacomas/frontier/colorados you have to get the super bare bones work truck variant to get below 17s.
Cameron I am with you...I like the larger sidewall look (military style) v/s the small sidewall (street style). Everyone I talk to ask me why are you going 18" instead of 20"? Any advantages for the 20 that I am not thinking of?
Jack Rose , you get better on road performance with short side walls. Large side walls are the way to go. Less pinches, air down lower, and they can be cheaper.
Because 96% of guys running a 20x10 wheel aren’t going to put their princess rig on the trail. They want to walk the walk but too scared to talk the talk. I personally think a good tire to rim ratio would be a 30x9.50r15 on a 15x7 or similar like 35” on 17” wheels. I like the better ride and handling characteristics off-road too plus you’ll get a better contact patch without having the big, gay rims sticking out for every rock to kiss along the trail. I’m a sucker for a tall, narrow, aggressive tire with a pretty standard offset and cut fenders.
Is a 33" tire taller than a 305
Checkout our handy-dandy size conversion calculator we have on our site:
www.customwheeloffset.com/tire-wheel-backspacing-offset-calculators
I absolutely hate how they call tires bigger or smaller than they are. My tires say 12.4" on their website. But measure 11" 😐
How come you dont just say "custom offsets tv" ^_^
would running 20x12's with 305/50/r20 nitto 420 be good?
Plenty of people do Cody!
@@CustomOffsetsTV I see people on the gallery with it and it looks sweet. Future setup for sure!

Hi will 35x12r15's fit a 20x8 rim?
people have done it on stock wheels John, no problem
Custom Offsets so I'm guessing that 33x12r15's all terrains would also fit 20x8.5 rims, right?
how are the atturos? are they good tires?
Great budget friendly tires Colton, but as with everything in life, you get what you pay for. it is a cheaper tire setup but great tire none the less.
Colton Howard It isn't a great tire. It is a cheap tire and it behaves exactly like a cheap tire.
Why would they all be marketed as the same?
They would all be characterized as 12.5" wide tires, but prices will vary depending on brand and model. Heres all of the 35x12.5 tires we offer!
www.customwheeloffset.com/store/tires?sort=popular&width_from=35&ratio_from=12.5
@@CustomOffsetsTV I mean how tight are those tolerances though? Like one of the tires was about a full inch off. Why wouldn't that just be considered a 11.5 wide?

Can u run a show on. Dont put any tire shine on tires ever ever evet. In the sun it. Makes the tire so hot. It eventually turn u your tire 'BROWN'..

20 x 10 looks much better.
I’ve heard tall and skinny is the way to go for off roading/mud terrain. Pizza cutters as they also call them. Wider is not always better.
You got to put the tires on the rims and air Em Up don't you.....
Have you guys ever heard the word engineer.....
