    Spot on! I’ve been in ice all week in AR and slippery mode was awesome! It was always under control and I never had a problem! I made it to my office and job sites all week. Awesome truck!

    Great information. I was surprised you didn’t mention about drive mode changes that it goes to 4x4 automatically then you gotta push the 2 wheel mode, even for the Eco or Sport. I wasn’t even aware you could do that until I was informed of it. Great content bro

    I ordered a 402a and been happy since June 15 2022. I really love sport mode in 4Auto for fire roads because it downshift for you so you use less brake. I like how you mentioned that slippery mode reduces acceleration and I have found that it is slightly similar to eco mode. Most people don't realize that Tremor and Raptor 402a share the same drive train and transfer case and that it is essentially the only drive train that offers ALL WHEEL DRIVE, 4X4 LOW AND 4X4 HIGH. Awesome truck and it handles fantastic off road while still being able to do TRUCK STUFF! Pulls my airstream no problem! Thanks for the video.

    I've come from a 2000 model with no drive mode whatsoever, just 4H&4L, so these are definitely different. It will take some learning on my part to see which the truck likes the most, being hybrid with the same drive modes it will be interesting to see what works the best. Good video

    Is the tremor worth the upgrade over my 2022 2.7L XL STX supercab longbed? I like the longer bed, didn't need as much room in the back cab outright. The extra modes seemed like nice to have, but not totally needed. A 3.5L (or I guess 5.0 is an option for 2023) could be interesting but I don't have enough truck experience to know enough of the difference between powertrains.
    TLDR: Upgrade STX, or buy Tremor and lightly upgrade?

    • @TremorTrails
      @TremorTrails  Год назад +2

      Really depends on your end goal for what you want to do. I personally love all the extra modes and transfer case. 3.5 is way to go IMHO. With the Tremor you can literally buy one and never have to do another mod to it. The thing will go off road and kick ass just stock. I personally have always like the short bed on my trucks. Both models will work but honestly they are 2 different animals. Tremor goes beyond just a trim package. Yes it's an F150 but so many things on it are Tremor and Raptor specific. Unlike other trim models. I've owned 6 F150's mostly Platinum models and this is by far my favorite F150 setup.

    Ok, Great Video and Thanks so Much. I'am a NEW F-150 FX 4X4 Owner with ALL THE OPTIONS ($87K For this Unit). I'll admit, I'am not an Avid 4X4 er, pretty much around Town all the Time (Ya I know). But..... My Stupid Question is, If it's "RAINING HARD" and the Street's are Wet or I'am on the Freeway, What is the Best Mode to Be in During this Wetness? (FYI) I'am in California. Thank you. I don't wanna Mess anything up by doing something Wrong.

      If you have 4 auto. Use it. If not just normal mode will be fine. The Slippery mode is to be used on ice and snow. Thanks for watching Ken!

  • @Nate-zy5ce
    @Nate-zy5ce Год назад +1

    Very useful. Thanks for doing this. 2 questions, the first likely a simple one, but the second, I've never heard anyone address before and I'm hoping you can: 1st, should I assume slippery mode is not your first choice for rainy roads and highways, or maybe a little sleet or hail, but that would simply be Auto? And 2nd, regarding bed length, I know the Tremor only comes with a 5.5' bed. I am considering a Platinum, adding the 4x4 package, and doing a small lift and offset, maybe even a higher quality spring lift kit, or just getting the Tremor, which already comes with springs at one end and an extra inch to the height and width. I just wish I could get all black leather seats with the Tremor instead of those goldish hued ones. In any case, with the Platinum, among other things, I get the choice of the 5.5' or 6.5' bed. My 2nd question is, are there any pros and cons to the 6.5' versus 5.5' bed in terms of performance on and off road and in different weather conditions? Let me explain. I live in mountainy ski country, though I get all over the country, and being able to get anywhere, at any time, in any kind of weather is important to me. I've been thinking if I got a 6.5' bed, I could get an RSI Smarcap, and sleep inside, being 6'2" the 5.5' would be insufficient. It's just that I wouldn't do that all that often, and I could always just use a tent. But it causes me to ask the question. Putting aside the obvious functionality of the different bed lengths for storage and sleeping, I'm wondering about the relative impact of the 5.5' versus 6.5' bed on vehicle performance in various ways and environments. I have never seen a single youtube video address this question. Thanks.

    • @TremorTrails
      @TremorTrails  Год назад +1

      Correct. Really, you could go either way on wet roads, either 4a or Slippery mode. My understanding is that slippery is really based around ice/snow. It reduces throttle response to help with not slipping as well as computer control to help with drift.
      As far as bed length, it really comes down to how hard you want to off-road. The main concern is the added wheel base as well as turning radius. Bed length will definitely hurt you on tight trails, thats why the Tremor only offers one size (unless you jump up to the 250, but thats a completely different vehicle) If going with a platinum you won't be getting turn trail assist, the tuned transmission for modes or the Raptor transfer case.
      If you plan on doing light off road like graded dirt minor forest roads, the Platinum might do ok, but the difference between the Tremor and Platinum is pretty vast. The Tremor was built to be smaller than the Raptor but give you the same capabilities.
      As far as suspension. Most everyone I know that runs a Tremor has switched over to custom suspension. While the Tremor suspension is better than the other F150's, it still has limitations, mainly sag, and the backend has pretty obvious axle wrap. That being said. IMHO, the Tremor is still the best full-size rig on the market for overlanding off-roading compared to the other offers.

    • @Nate-zy5ce
      @Nate-zy5ce Год назад

      @@TremorTrails Thanks for the thorough reply. It is useful. I can guess, but any chance you would briefly explain what "sag" and "axle wrap" are? And maybe, what type of "custom suspension" you are referring to that people are switching the Tremor to? Would it be the sort of spring suspension that can come with a higher end 2 or 2 1/2" lift kit, or something else? The F150 Raptor is really overkill for me in terms of its off road capability, but dang it just looks so hot, and seeing as I do a lot of highway miles so many video reviewers comment on how incredibly smooth it rides on highways, I wonder if the Tremor is as smooth on the highways? And do you think the Tremor or Raptor would do better at high altitude and cold snowy weather of mountainy ski country in winter?
      Some of the luxury features of the loaded Platinum would be nice, like the luxury massaging, full recline seats, and the auto speed limit sensing, a few other things, but your points about the Tremor advantages are highly relevant given that I would use this vehicle for a wide variety of driving situations. As for my going off road, overlanding largely describes what I do more than crazy off-roading. Ultimately, however, its the go anywhere, anytime any kind of weather abilities, and it may seem silly, but that fold out flat work surface option in the front center console that has me going with one of these F150's instead of a modern suv like a Yukon Denali or AT4, so many of which seem better suited for city and leisurely family driving than the wider variety of driving I like to do but especially the often rougher roads, paved and dirt, of ski country, especially in bad weather. The best ski days are powder days after all, and those come during and just after the biggest snow storms, and I may be driving during such storms just ten minutes to the local ski area, an hour to nearby areas, or for 5-6 hours for a long weekend in such bad weather. Lots of highway driving, but also getting to a favorite fishing or camping or hiking spot, or even just getting away for great views for a few hours or a day or two, and just the confidence that it can get me wherever I need to go whenever I want to or need to.
      Thank you so much for a useful video and for your replies and thoughts on what I say.
