Tremor Trails
США
Добавлен 25 июн 2022
Ever wonder if your full size rig can handle 4x4 offroad trails? When we started testing our 2022 F150 Ford Tremor's off road capabilities, we realized there was almost no available trail info for full size off road and overland trails. We started filming trails to share trail info with other full size vehicle owners. That is how Tremor Trails was born! Since then, we have learned a ton about overland gear, gone through needed modifications as we've tackled more challenging trails and have built a couple of overland RTT camping set ups. This channel chronicles our journey. We invite you to join us!

GEMINI BRIDGES Moab Utah, Great beginner trail! #FordTremor #Moab #beginner overland
Hey brother, I’m running 295/70R18 (Falken AT4) after checking out your video, and I completely agree-it’s a perfect size for this truck. I could use some advice on what tire pressure I should be running for on-road, off-road, and while towing. Appreciate any feedback you can share!
I run low 20's off road, mainly for comfort. 35 to 40 on road. Thanks!
Have you tried at 100% suspension compression? I guess I'm wondering - do you need a lift to fit these? Isn't the truck the same at full compression with or without a lift/level, unless you change something else? (e.g. see ruclips.net/video/l1tTelhdEiM/видео.html)
@@negcx yes you'll need UCA'S and lift if you don't want to rub off road.
Honest question.... why spend the extra money on a Tremor if your just going to rip out the suspension and replace it anyways?
In 22, the Tremor came with Raptor transfer case, front diff and all kinds of great tech. The Tremor was practically a less wide Raptor with a different motor. The Tremor in stock form did great on easy trails and minor rock obstacles. However, the rear end was an issue off road and shocks (just like stock Raptor) are soft and can't carry weight. Not sure what Ford is doing now, but you couldn't buy the extras on other Trims. The Tremor f150 wasn't really a trim. It was a whole different beast. Lastly people that go off road frequently always upgrade. People buy a TDR Toyota and immediately gut it to upgrade. So, better parts, better ride and can't get (or couldn't) get the add ons the Tremor had on other models. :)
Ok I laughed at that lol
Can’t wait to see what’s next. Your videos are always great and informative. Not a lot off people do this kind of videos. I’m in Wyoming and I looked up all the videos on On X Off-road. So I can take the family out this summer. Hope to see so more of your work soon.
@MrDorkyd913 thanks brother! I'm trying to get out on some trails soon. I keep missing the windows.. a little tougher in winter but come spring, we'll be back full-time.
Did you drive past the gooney bird without putting a wheel on it?!
@@brackeng1294 Yeah :/
You were too easy on this trail. It's a 100% PASS considering all the far better trails in the area.
@@steveludwig4200 I couldn't agree more! This was when I first started wheeling.
35x12.5x17 Nitto Ridge Grappler on my 23 Tremor. No cutting, slight rub on the fender liner while backing up at full lock. Other than that, no problems. It is super tight though
revisiting this video, i think its important that when you showed the truck in the first part, it was still wrapped for the channel. gives us mad hope.
Appreciate it! I finally have some trips on the schedule so we can get back to exploring 🙌
@@TremorTrails all good! Its build season for a bunch of us anyways, reruns and b-roll on the gram... lmao
I've had ko2s on my 2010 stx f150 and loved them. I just got a 2024 Tremor that came with the General Grabbers. No issues so far, they seem good too.
The grabbers did great for me stock. Just rotate them as much as ya can.
What about doing this trail downwards ?
Yeah, no issues either direction.
You've taken us to so many spectacular places, I'm running out of adjectives. I am a bit envious of those who live in Idaho...(and you as well lol) Thank you for taking us along with you!
1st world problems.. your life is so good that a cross in the middle of nowhere is what offends you.
Turn of the fjukin annoying background music! You are not Nat Geo! Just listen to rubber on rocks! Horrible editing
I’m a new follower here and looking forward to your new videos. Stay healthy!!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching my videos!
Glad you’re doing better and back to making videos. You were missed, but obviously your family and health come first. See you on the next one.
Thanks so much!
I've been hearing good things about the LF Bros.
A little lengthy, but well worth it. Thanks
@josephmurrietta3228 thanks for checking it out.
I bought the no-name skinny one a couple years ago. Now I just picked up LF Brothers. I like the screw top gas tank for no leaks, and The pump is a lot quieter than the old one also has automatic altitude adjustment.
Holy smokes! I watched all! of your coverage of the EMHT! I'm wiped out! KIDDING. I dintdo it all at once. Hahaha... TJ, you are the MAN. What a terrific motivator you can be. See you out there! at some point! Cheers! and THANKS!
@@applesbighatranch6906 Thanks! I hope to get out there soon. It's such an awesome trail!
Do you think a stock 09 escape xlt would have clearance for some of the rougher parts of the trail? Interweb says I have 8.4”
@northwestbojak1670 Unfortunately, the National Park Service has now mandated all vehicles on an off trail in the parks must have high clearance and 4wd. Definitely not high enough in spots.
@ what about the Shafer trail? My rig is 4x4, I heard the shafer trail is a little less intense
@northwestbojak1670 for sure! Shafer, Potash, Mineral are all good trails.
You have to realize an “exact level” is impossible unless you always have the exact same amount of fuel in the tank. The tank side of the truck will go down 1/4-1/2” depending if you are measuring full or empty. My truck is only exactly level when near empty.
@@purehealthdoc9157 great point.
RAS - Roadmaster Active Suspension, and it works a treat! Been running it on my 2016 5.0 SuperCrew for over six years. I tow a light, small trailer w/ 150-200lbs tongue weight, but there's also 450 lbs in the bed under a vinyl tonneau cover. I like a little bit of forward rake on my truck. The front sits about 1/2" higher than a stock 4WD F150 - and- I'm running 34" tahrz. The preload I set on my RAS is an unpublished 3mm coil gap, this suggestion from RAS via telephone. I fold my truck through some washouts from time to time on some very mild desert BLM routes to my favorite "fishin' holes" where I'll set up camp and use my Winchester and Marlin fishin' poles. The RAS works just fine and never goes anywhere from right where I installed it. Cheers!
Can you push the crash bars apart to get sufficient size?
Most everyone cuts or removes them.
First vid of yours, TJ, that I saw was the one sitting 'round the fire w/ John Marnell, and talking about the Mojave Road vs. the East Mojave Heritage Trail (system). That was a great interview. Just watched EMHT Sec 1 DAY 1 and right now I am one-third the way through this one to opine that your trail vids so far are an excellent mix of vehicle, drone and static cameras. Your soundtrack is good (we love acoustic gee-tahr) too. Question: Your truck is seen rolling through a shallow washout. It's tires do not seem too aired down. Looks like anything from 36 - 20 lol. Did you air down very often for this trail system? or at all? I realize this is the factory tire/wheel for your rig. Thanks for a terrific presentation. Wish you were local to southern Cal but dagnabbit I don't blame ya. We're planning our escape ourselves. See you in the next of your EMHT Series! You rock.
I can't remember on this video. But yes, I always air down. Usually 21psi. 90% for comfort. There's nothing to crazy to crawl on EMHT.
@@TremorTrailsThanks! and Happy New Year! by the way lol. See you out there at some point! Cheers.
Holy smokes! What a great presentation. I very recently and by happy accident spent some time on the phone w/ your guest, here, John Marnell. What a terrific fellow! I am a member of the MDHCA/Mojave Desert Heritage and Cultural Association/Friends of the Mojave Road but have yet to become immersed there (I live four hours' drive west and until recently worked a lot of hours). At about 5:00 into your vid you comment, "I'm sorry that I nerd out on this, guys, but..." - - - WE UNDERSTAND! lmao. We do! I first became enamored of/with this region over 35 years ago when driving truck out of Los Angeles to points east and when passing through the area just before Essex, looking north out my window from my seat seven feet in the air into what is now the Mojave Preserve (it was not yet created in '87), into that great expanse framed on either side by two mountain ranges. My soul was touched by something there, some of that was it's singular beauty and vast open space, and I know (or hope that) many drivers passing through that area have felt something similar. Putting the last touches on a very small off-highway camp trailer and will be spending some time out there this coming year. Exploring this region has been a dream of mine for far too long. Cheers!
Sub'd! and TT ball cap purchased!
@applesbighatranch6906 it's an incredible place! I'm so glad you're going to get out there 🙌
@applesbighatranch6906 Thanks again!!
Awesome channel! Been learning a ton from your videos. Just swapped my Bronco Sas and F150 (4x2) for a 2024 Tremor. Glad to see you’re doing well, and thank you for your informative content. - @805_tremorF150
You plan on getting one of those new Starlink Mini dishes for your adventures? Also, excited to see footage from more of your adventures! I came across your channel when our family was researching for a new vehicle. We ended up settling in on a Ford Expedition Max instead of a pickup. Great videos though!
It's definitely on the list! Just haven't pulled the trigger yet on Starlink.
Pretty cool that the price is so much lower! I got my Vevor heater which is essentially the same exact thing for around 200 bucks. Might have to take a hard look at Hcalory if or when my Vevor decides to quit on me.
Also, it's great to see you back man! Hope your birthday was excellent!
@Mrbluedude73 yeah! It appears all the companies use the same box on this model. Really the only different thing between companies is the display, motherboard, and fuel pump.
Excellent video! The Hidden Valley section was intriguing, the Tremor was able to 'safely' navigate through it, which is good to know. Thank you for sharing your journeys with us!
@lewisrountreeiii2937 thanks Lewis!
Good to see you’re back!!
Thanks Ron!
It’s too bad they don’t ship to Canada.
I had no idea. I wonder why?
Gemini Bridges is great, but personally my favorite beginner trail is potash Road, unless you consider Hurrah pass and chicken corners beginner...
This spring Potash was graded like a new road so, not as fun as I remember. Still a beautiful trail though! My fav beginner trail in Moab is Onion Creek. Thanks for watching!
How would doing it on the street screw up the rear end if the diff is open?...
Good question. Doing so can produce excessive noise, increase tire wear and may damage driveline or braking components. Trail Turn Assist is only intended for slippery or loose surfaces. That comes directly from Ford.
Take a hard right in Ludlow and you will be headed West towards Barstow not Amboy. Also I have purchased diesel in Ludlow many times.
Great video. Just one question.... What is a "trell"? Lol.
Much like a trail but cooler and more southern! 😆
@TremorTrails . Hahaha Hahaha.
Another fantastic video, I’m just sayin’. Thanks for taking us along with you, the best is yet to come!

@user-st5rc9nz4j Yes sir.
Great to see a new video T.J. Content was uplifting, Getting older and still in your 40s? An annual check up is worth the slight inconvenience, trust me. I'm still reliving those great days on the EMHT. Best to Julie.
@john59347 man, I am too! I wanna go camp at that Indian spot we passed! The desert is calling my name. Maybe we can hook up in Feb.
I had the RAS setup for about 30 days. I developed a squeak that I just didn't want to have on a new truck. It also raised the already high rear end too much for my liking. That being said, it helped with towing ... the truck was more predictable with less squat. Roadactive was awesome with the return after we tried to troubleshoot the squeak.
Glad you’re back! As a Tremor owner I’m always thrilled to see how you use yours.
Thank you Doc!!
