- Today we dive into lessons learned and tips for helping newcomers to the overlanding lifestyle. We touch on the basics and what you actually need to get on trails. (spoiler alert) it's not that much! It can be overwhelming for beginner's getting into off road and overland type trails, when what we tend to see is expensive rigs and massive tires. Today I'm going to try to break it down to the most basic of items and knowledge needed to have a great trip!

I’ve done a few trails so far in my Tremor and it’s good to know the etiquette when it comes to off roading. Never knew the vehicle going up has the right of way. Thanks! Gonna look into an air pump now lol
Happy to help! Seems alot of people don't know the rules when it comes to uphill. I didn't either! I learned about it on a trip up north when we were doing a bunch of tight shelf roads. Thanks for watching 👀 now go get a pump 😀
Makes sense, just like in mtn biking or hiking (when trails are narrow)!
Thank you. This video made me feel more comfortable going out
Onx Mapping/ Level 1-4 at the beginning
Refrigerator
Tent/Back of Truck/
Tires air then down on trail
Pump that hooks up to battery
Get comfortable with airing them down.
Stay on the trail
Horses bikers hikers have the right of way.
Any vehicle going up hill has the right of way.
Love all the suggestions
Thank you

Welcome 🙏 thanks for checking it out!
Great content. This channel should have more subs.
Thank you! We're trying!
thank you.
Thanks for watching 👀
A couple of things I would've liked to have been mentioned: What about going to the bathroom? And what about trash? Obviously, you have systems in place for that. But what do you use? Love your channel as I have a tremor as well. Keep up the good work.
For bathroom it's a mix. Many places have bathrooms in national forests, national parks ect. If I'm out on BLM land, I use a small shovel and carry out my paper. As far as trash goes, we keep it super simple. We use large trash bags and just keep the trash bag in the truck bed.
I’m brand-spankin’ new at off-roading, and bought an F150 Tremor almost on a whim because we needed a larger tow vehicle. I’m nearly ready to toe-step into some off-roading here (even though we’re in central Indiana), and these videos are very encouraging and just what I need to build my confidence.
One question - do you deflate your tires even on level 1-3 trails?
Thanks!
Hi! Welcome! I personally deflate on 2 and above. The ride improves so much at lower air pressures. The Tremor is a heavy truck and having tires absorb ruts and rocks definitely makes more a more enjoyable experience! Start easy on some trails around you then work your way up. Thanks for reaching out! All the best
This may be a little superficial but you said don’t be afraid to ask anything! Lol. Did you do anything to protect your paint? Clear coat, clear wrap with all those decals? My first trip out I had a ton of trail rash! Luckily it all came out except one or two small scratches. I’m definitely trying to keep my baby looking good for the first few years at least. Thx for the videos!
Great question. I did a video on it awhile back. It might be time to do another. What I use is clear bra. The front quarter panels, front of hood and pillars are wrapped in it. This stuff is incredible! It heals itself with heat and has protected my paint from some crazy pin stripes. The Artworks Unlimited is one of our main sponsors. They did the wrap and then wrapped the truck in it.
So ive been curious. On f150s why dont we many full size truck guys with truck caps vs racks on overland setups?
Most caps can't keep up with harder overland trails and also they can't support the weight of a RTT. Several manufacturers are starting to come online as of late though. So we might start to see more out there. I'm about to change my setup next month as well.
@TremorTrails oh awesome! Yeah I'm starting to understand more about the static weight vs dynamic. My goal is to keep what's in the bed dry. Get good amount of rain and snow out here where I'm at.
@@raptordc5 stay tuned 😎 I might have an option for ya soon!
@TremorTrails notification squad activated!!! P.s are you in the Facebook f150 overland usa group?
@raptordc5 nope, but sounds like I should! Maybe we'll swing up there. Hit me up at Tremortrails@gmail.com and we can swap info!
Hmmmmm...guess my humor wasn't accepted and my comment got deleted. Nice
? I didn't see a comment and definitely didn't delete anything. You Tube does have a bot that screens comment for review if they think it's offensive maybe that's what happened
@@TremorTrails Weird> I was just joking saying that 1. don't start overlanding and 2. if you do get ready to spend a ton of cash by going to the overland expos and buying into everything they tell you that you need there...oh and also said that TrailsOffroad is a great app along with GaiaGps. No harm there I would think. 😊
Lol! No doubt! My bank account is always empty buying something new for the trails! It's never ending! Definitely some great apps out there. I just wanted to hit home to newcomers no matter which one you grab, use it! Thanks for watching 👀
