My brother and sister both have young kids and both own Camrys. I have no doubt that when my their kids make legal-driving age that they have Camry’s to drive them all the way to college graduation. If only Toyota injected a little bit more wow factor into their vehicle design I’d probably be a loyal customer for life
Doug E Doug some of their latest products have injected some wow factor. Like for example the Camry and Avalon. Those are very stylish and I actually bought a Camry XSE v6 recently. It definitely turns heads. It sure turned my head and even some friends of mine. They were impressed by how it looks outside and inside.
NICE! A friend of mine just purchased the NX 300 in black. Lexus always exceeds the mark when it comes to reliability, ride and interior. You can’t go wrong with that grill. Keep the great vehicles and content coming. 👍

Yes. I have the 2019 NX. I love it. I got it as a secondary car to my 2013 Camry SE. They may not be “exciting” as other brands but I have never had major problems out of either vehicle.
What did you pick the current nx over the current rdx? I have a 2020 NX and I went back and forth with the RDX. My daughter worked for Honda corporate in the Acura division and said the rdx had a lot of complaints.
I like the NX, but Sofyan is right that this SUV needs to be a just a little bit bigger and have more powerful gasoline and hybrid powertrains to properly compete with the ever attractive German competitors and the new Acura RDX which is probably getting a Type S variant soon. I hope Lexus properly invests in the next NX and not just update it a little like they did with the IS.
I got one as a loaner while my 2009 RX was getting some work done. I was pleasantly surprised with the car, the inside is very roomy for how small it looks outside, I was genuinely surprised at the cargo capacity. Good in the snow, extremely comfortable, quiet, beautifully designed interior/exteriors, great sound system and interface. My only gripe with it which is fairly major is the heavy turbo lag, it takes a while to get used to when the power doesn't come in for a second or 2 after you press the gas. Other than that, fantastic vehicle. All I can say is I was sad returning it 🤣
Would appreciate if you could stop focusing on performance of hybrid vehicles vs turbos. Most ppl buy hybrids for fuel economy, not to do 0-60 at every light.
Moe Anthony I do appreciate him addressing that issue. But you’re right. It only proves our point. Now certain Toyota Lexus models I’d agree that he’s right to hate on. The CHR is definitely cute but the rear seats do feel cramped and visibility is poor. The RX L as well for its unusable third row.

The NX is due for a redesign, for sure, but I don’t necessarily think the next gen has to try harder to be sporty as Sofyan mentioned. I still like the looks of the NX in general, but I have never understood why the non-F-sport model in the U.S. has such a different front than the European NX. I'm from Belgium and I drive a 2018 NX and I 'm so glad that the front of mine is different. It has more the shape of the F-sport.
Sometime next year, Lexus will launch the 2022 Lexus NX, and it should get the following: More power from the turbo, going up to the 302 HP engine that is coming to the Rav4 Prime Front end will mirror the Lexus LF1 Concept. Slightly more cargo space and the updated hybrid engine, going to 40 MPG. The Lexus NX has been a huge hit for Lexus, leading the compact class in sales in 2017 and 2018.
RDX is just much more spacious inside. NX has a wide center console that kills interior space. Why does Toyota/Lexus has these huge center consoles? Don't they understand some people can be taller and wider?

They're not making aggressive enough changes because they ordered the older parts in relative bulk. If they changed too aggressively, they would have heavy parts write-offs!
Thank you so much for the review! I love how you admit you expect more from Lexus and Toyota. Same here and I honestly love my NX 300 F sport. With the Black interior plus Red seats and Nubela Gray color exterior, I love it but Lexus could always improve.
Nathaniel Lam I definitely like the front grill on the F sport better than the regular Front Grill but once again I have to complain you can’t even get rain sensing wipers on any version of the F sport NX!😡
Did you really just say the Lexus NX isn't as "standoutish" as German and American SUVs? 😅 The NX is the strangest looking SUV in recent years, with its Predator grill and oragami lines 😂
Agreed. The F-sport model is still the best looking IMHO. And once the remodel comes in I'm guaranteed nothing will be able to compete. Like look at the new redesigned ES interior... Damn... Just damn...
I think it's one of the best looking small SUV out there. It's comfortable and it does it's job. Add in stellar reliability and a CD player. It's perfect for CD loving dinosaurs like me. Lol
I am happy with my NX300, but I do agree on the fact that it's not as competitive as to the Germans. Still, we shall see if the newer model will redeem itself and earn its reputation back again and on par with its bigger sister, the RX
Good review. I agree, Lexus just isn't keeping up. 2020 and they still don't have wireless charging, touchscreen, sunglass storage, higher mileage with the hybrid, plugs in backseat area....the list goes on. For luxury it's lacking and stopping me from trading in my 2016 for the new year, nothing has changed in 5 years...sad.
@@JimGray65 probably fox shocks?? I forgot. This was a 1 year comment, and I havent kept up with car news lately, but now Im coming back to the car news so yea
I have this agenda to make Lexus have German rear-wheel drive pedigree. Sort of what Genesis is doing. I've been awfully jealous how handsome Porsches are; paired with longitudinal high performance engines and rear-wheel drive.
I just bought the 2021 Toyota Venza Limited. Looks like this car. All trims have AWD, Hybrid, and the same synthetic leather as the NX. Got the optional panoramic sunroof. Gripes. No decent storage bins. No sunglass pocket. 12.3 screen gets very dusty. Miserable infotainment setup compare to the Ford sync 3.
I remember there was an article I think in motor trend magazine doing a comparo between a Lexus NX and a Mazda CX-5, and the CX5 came out the winner in that comparo
It’s a weird spot for the lineup. To me, it’s more like the Q3/GLA competitor and not so much Q5/X3/GLC but it’s priced more like those. I don’t hate it but having been in the market and had a current gen X3 I wouldn’t consider this as an alternative.
I don't understand why people talk about rdx. The car already looks too old in my eyes. It looks no where near the price of a Lexus or BMW. The interior is like something from anime-starwars, just childish and doesn't work for me. Honestly if the nx had improvements to acceleration and the front grill(buck teeth) fixed, it would be so much better than any competition. Now, it's not great, getting old, but I don't think rdx is anywhere in the proximity to nx.
They won’t because CD players are considered outdated, especially as most people use their phones/radio for music. You can still get a CD player in the Lexus IS though.
RX350 is "bigger" and I am 6'3" and my head is hitting the ceiling even with the seat all the way down... so NX would absolutely not even work for me. If you are below 6' then maybe these work ok - but for taller people, these are not working out at all... I sat in both, and like I said, RX 350 hitting ceiling... NX even more claustrophobic for me.
7:38 The window slowing down right before it closes is actually pretty annoying, I had a 17 Avalon and my IS3 50 does the same thing too And it's annoying as hell
Another great review. Agree about interior size (since Rav4 and NX share platform). I was ready to trade a 2009 Forester for a 2017 Rav4. I test drove the Rav4. It seemed too tall, narrow and noisy. I went for a 2015 cpo Carmy. The cert pre-owned warr gave my 1 yr bumper-to-bumper and 7 yr/100k powertrain warr. I'm average size but that interior looks too narrow. For me the Camry was a better option plus the 2 yr depreciation and buyers don't want sedans I save almost 10k getting the Camry 2 yrs old with 23k miles. Look forward to seeing 2021 NX.
I agree Lexus isn't updating their cars fast enough but some people just want a nice car that works
Toyota is in it for the long haul. Deciding against too frequent, incremental updates is what keeps Toyota a recession-proof automaker

They're not making aggressive enough changes because they ordered the older parts in relative bulk. If they changed too aggressively, they would have heavy parts write-offs!
7:15 really not sure why Lexus does this in a luxury car. The Mazda3 or CX-30 has soft touch everywhere.
Hideous!
@@Agent77X ur right look like a dam cheese grator
I have a 2019 NX F Sport. Love it.
Nice looking car, doesn’t seem outdated at all.
Sofyan,
With mostly all the car manufacturers offering 0% interest with financing, what would a list of the 10 best deals look like in your opinion?
Great used car
He finally explained why he's so harsh with Toyota and Lexus. I agree
1:21 Toyota and Lexus resting on their laurels
Honda:😳 that was a close one
I would buy a Mazda CX5 turbo before buying the Lexus NX. I looked at it a few years ago. Too small on the inside.
Never liked the exterior look of the NX, always thought the front end was too long
It is too long unless you get the fsport version.
Kevin Nguyen It’s 2020, what do you expect anymore? Bots are literally everywhere
The new Rav4's interior looks nearly identical to this older model. But, still handsome.
Good engines, tech eh. My 2020 Toyota SE is loaded almost but still feels like it’s missing a few things. Like noise quality.
I’m guessing the new refreshed model will have unibrow taillights
It won’t be a refresh, it’ll be completely redesigned next year
Stefan B. Well yeah I meant redesign
Idk why but when the video started and Sofyan was walking right in front of the car, it looked like a toy car. Is it really that small??
You are such a great reviewer
Excellent review ! Thanks a lot !
This channel is growing...
Indeed people are coming here to find out...
*I never liked the exterior look of the NX, always thought the front end was too long*
From the side, it looks like the NX is missing its lower jaw. I think the F Sport version looks great all around though.
If I were you owning this. I would put suspension and quiet tire mods to give it a ride better than a rolls royce.
What Brands would you use?
@@JimGray65 probably fox shocks?? I forgot. This was a 1 year comment, and I havent kept up with car news lately, but now Im coming back to the car news so yea
@@tealsk3wy149 I have 2021 and it is a bit bumpy. The door says 32 PSI but the dealer put them at 41 PSI
@@JimGray65 damn
I have this agenda to make Lexus have German rear-wheel drive pedigree. Sort of what Genesis is doing. I've been awfully jealous how handsome Porsches are; paired with longitudinal high performance engines and rear-wheel drive.
It drink gas but the drive is very smooth and quiet I love it
I just bought the 2021 Toyota Venza Limited. Looks like this car. All trims have AWD,
Hybrid, and the same synthetic leather as the NX. Got the optional panoramic sunroof.
Gripes.
No decent storage bins. No sunglass pocket.
12.3 screen gets very dusty. Miserable infotainment setup compare to the Ford sync 3.
Cargo space and cabin space is too small. Much smaller than Rav4. Lexus and Acuras have been lazy updating their vehicles past few years
I hope they give the NX an actual redesign instead of giving a re-skinned previous generation like the IS, like I hope they move to the TNGA platform
Only thing I'm afraid if they switch it to TNGA is that platform is known to shrink the interior space.
Jonathan Washington They are going to make it larger anyways so it’s not a big deal
I wonder what's better...a Lexus NX 300 or a Mazda CX-5
Rav4 prime
I remember there was an article I think in motor trend magazine doing a comparo between a Lexus NX and a Mazda CX-5, and the CX5 came out the winner in that comparo
Hmm I have the NX300h F sport and I have the plano sunroof hmph
Hey, Lexus, don’t forget to put CD player in updated Lexus NX 2022.
They won’t because CD players are considered outdated, especially as most people use their phones/radio for music. You can still get a CD player in the Lexus IS though.
NX300: premium gas (91). NX300h: regular gas (87).
Oh I am glad it’s not another Kia loving review.
Haseeb Ahmed Kia ain’t bad though anymore
RX350 is "bigger" and I am 6'3" and my head is hitting the ceiling even with the seat all the way down... so NX would absolutely not even work for me.
If you are below 6' then maybe these work ok - but for taller people, these are not working out at all... I sat in both, and like I said, RX 350 hitting ceiling... NX even more claustrophobic for me.
7:38 The window slowing down right before it closes is actually pretty annoying, I had a 17 Avalon and
my IS3 50 does the same thing too And it's annoying as hell
