Yes, I've driven other SUV and never considered AWD because I live in flat lands, but after I got the RDX with SH-AWD I can't go back. A little bias here, since I own a new RDX. But I love it. Much bigger and comfortable than the NX. If the RDX had touch screen, it would be the cherry on top.

Interesting rating system.. I'd think a much more intuitive infotainment and hybrid options would be worth more than half a point. The Lexus offers much more in terms of powertrain options and feels more modern in the cabin.
@@Stefin770 not sure that relates to my comment on the point system. Value would be determined by the individual buyer unless you mean the resale value which I'm sure the Lexus would best the Acura there too.
Love love love that Lexus came to its senses and added a touchscreen. Wish Acura would do the same because I think the Acura interior looks more premium, if not a bit busy, but with that touchpad as the only way to physically control the infotainment system, it's a deal breaker.
@@TheE571 this is one thing I hate about car reviews. So much emphasis on the infotainment. Are we driving cars or playing with tablets? Seriously consider how frequently you actually use infotainment when driving. Its like the least important feature but people love to talk about their gadgets I guess. So I seriously think infotainment should be half a point max. Not anything higher. I could even beg to say it could be even .25 points. Before I get into my car my GPS is set. Spotify is already on. I walk into my car and android auto kicks in and I don't touch my infotainment. The HUD gives access to on the fly stuff like phone anyway. As for the hybrid. Yes. Today it's very important because of gas prices. But that doesn't always equate for savings if you for example live in a condo that has a higher charging cost than if you lived in a house. Or considering the time it takes to charge the battery etc. There are some losses to having electric or hybrid vehicles and its usually time. (Assuming you can't charge overnight at home) and it doesn't necessarily mean it's cheaper if you compare the costs to charge and usage in different climates.
Thats what i said before the nx went on sale and yet everyone shut me down for saying that The new nx is imo one of the worst luxury cuvs in its class and it’s really down there with the Infiniti qx50 and qx55

NX for me. I've always been much more of a Lexus guy having owned a gray on red 2017 IS200t F-Sport & currently a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport. I've purchased five vehicles so far (all sedans), but would for sure upgrade to a NX if I were to upgrade to a crossover. Looks amazing in that red color which is the color I would go with for my future vehicle.
I prefer the RDX and bought one myself, but....I think the NX would be the better choice. I'm never going to make the mistake again of not visiting the service department before I buy a vehicle. I would ask if they provide loaners, I would look at the waiting area-- do they have coffee or refreshments, plenty of comfortable chairs with the ability to plug in a laptop, etc. Friends I know say Lexus does an excellent job with all of that. Acura does not. I think our local Ford dealer would treat you better and have a nicer waiting area in the service department that my Acura dealer. It's awful, and nothing about the experience of getting my car serviced there feels customer focused or remotely like a premium experience. When you buy a car you are really entering into a relatioship with the dealer, and Lexus has a much better customer experience.
It would be nice to know which car you would personally choose and why at the end of each comparison review. How about a summary of the pros and cons each car offers.
Acura definitely easier on the eyes and interior definitely rdx wins lexus interior looks to much like a toyota interior however i like that nx offers a variety of engine options but all said n done acura for the win 🏆
Both are great. I would pick the Lexus for the customer service. If I need a rental it's a Lexus off their lot that doesn't cost me anything. Acura won't do that.
None of these are ready for me. I need Acura to adapt Lexus's infotainment and rear vents and I need Lexus to improve that tranny tuning and Acura's cargo space.
Compared to the Midsize Premium SUV segment, Lexus owners are more often women, are older, and enjoy a lower median annual household income. J.D. Power data shows that 42% of Lexus RX owners are female (vs. 38% for the segment), that their median age is 65 (vs. 58 for the segment), and that their median annual household income is $155,303 (vs. $184,248 for the segment).
Great review. I will saw I’ve seen the new NX 350 with heated seats in the back that so you owe NX another .5 pts. 😂 Other than that they are both amazing and this review makes it hard for sure. I think the hybrid options and big screen might have me on the Lexus side for now. Either way the review was great. Thanks for sharing.
I picked the NX over the RDX. NX does offer heated rear seats, the push button transmission is bad. If you are a Toyota owner before, the transmission thing is no brainer.
I just bought an RDX A-Spec (w/o Advance) This is definitely the sweet spot trim. I paid $47k out the door and in my opinion, it’s loaded. The only substantive thing missing is adaptive dampeners. And in most cars, those are over hyped. Didn’t really even consider the NX because based on the website it’s seemed to be in a smaller class of vehicle - I wasn’t even aware these two were competitors. Meanwhile the Lexus RX is much more expensive. For my money the RDX was the obvious choice.
@@naveenthemachine yea now is crazy times. But you can tell the market is slowing going back. I contacted 35 lexus on their mark up prices. It's dropping now

In this company of two, and despite the infotainment foibles, the RDX is a far better to drive crossover. Outside of these two, a GV70 is a much better option still.
Lexus should of put the remote start on the keyfob like every 2022 Toyota Camry. I don’t understand why car manufacturers do that… give their lower tier cars simple better features than a higher premium.

Great video guys! The comparisons were very interesting, however imo I disagree with some aspects to the NX such as the shifter being ‘hard-to-adapt’ to and just giving the RDX 1-1.5+ more points just for being a bigger SUV (allowing more trunk & backseat space), but I really enjoyed the overall design & coordination of the video. If you couldn’t tell already, I enjoyed driving the NX better than the RDX, but I prefer a smoother, more efficient ride than power, so I’m destined to like Lexus more😅 Have you guys compared the Lexus ES300h to any other car on your channel? I much prefer the overall NX design to the RDX. The NX infotainment system is far superior than the RDX trackpad. And the RDX design of the center stack with the drive selector is dreadful. After owing the NX for a couple of months is the most relaxing and peaceful car I've ever driven. It has changed my driving style.

The Acura looks better, is larger, and much cheaper, This is a no brainer. The Acura wins all day!
Just got a 2023 RDX with tech package and AWD. The deciding factor between this and the NX 350? And it got more likes than dislikes, so I think Acura probably took note that "nobody wanted a hybrid"
I’ve had 3 Acura RDX and liked them all. Just got a Lexus NX 350 premium and enjoy the interior more especially the infotainment screen that is touch screen. The RDX needs to add touchscreen. I have the red seats which are 🔥. Thanks for this comparison review of my two fav SUVs ☺️
I love the tech of the Lexus but the Acura is more fun to drive with Super Handling AWD. I just can't get used to their trackpad infotainment. Acura needs to give it a touchscreen.
Noooo! Touchscreens are so hard to mess with when driving. Trackpad is by far my favorite. Love that Acura is one of the last holdouts sticking to a trackpad.
@@cristinaward8344100% agree. That touchpad works great.
Give me the Acura hands down. The design is more cohesive and the interior looks more upscale. The Lexus looks bland and the interior looks cheap.
I'm team Acura too, but...
I disagree; the Lexus interior doesn't look cheap. It's just not your style.
@@LondonHasFallin to me the screen is nice but the rest of the entire dash is plastic. The RDX has leather and suede with stitching.
@@LondonHasFallin How are you going to tell him about HIS opinion? It does look cheap and the Lexus costumers have been complaining about the New ES and NX and the incredible amount of cheap plastics Lexus is using.
@@LondonHasFallin Its all relative and what may look cheap to me may not look cheap to you. The interior just seems basic and cold to me. I dont know but I get Rav-4 vibes from the outside to the interior; not groundbreaking at all and most of the car reviews I've seen on this new Lexus are underwhelming. I mean it's going to sell no matter what I say just because it's a Lexus, but the Acura clearly is the more superior product here. Its gives off a much more sophisticated look unlike the Lexus
@@Coupe-sy9nk shut up. It doesn't look cheap. The Design of the rdx is the definition of cheap
If the RDX was available in hybrid it would the one I'd pick. Unfortunately the next model RDX will be all electric I believe. Too bad....
You really can't go wrong with both! The Acura interior is better, and I see tons on the roads
I’m a huge Lexus guy, but I’d take the RDX in this comparison.
Lexus Top!
The RDX is my choice. More room and a stronger engine…Honda is the best engine company as they’ve been making racing engines long before.
Can you imagine if these two power houses just for one time worked together on a NX-RDX trim… it would be epic
So Acura + Lexus = Acuxus / Lexura RNX F-Spec 450 AWD Plug-in Hybrid Ultra EPA rated at 60MPG with 15 gallon gas tank.
those would probably sold out so fast hahaha
A little bias here, since I own a new RDX. But I love it. Much bigger and comfortable than the NX. If the RDX had touch screen, it would be the cherry on top.
I test drove both before making my purchase and can tell you the Acura is better, the infotainment system on the Lexus is better but the RDX destroys the NX in driving dynamic and handling, I got the A-SPEC Advance as well red exterior with black interior and red stitching.
I wish they would add the type S to the RDX
Yep. I bought the RDX 2020 in 08/2019. I looked long and hard at both the RDX and the Lexus NX 350 before buying my 2020 Acura RDX.
I have 3 kids in high school, and with them being 5-8, 5-10, 6-0, I really have found the extra few inches in the second row a big benefit on trips around town.
When we got 8" of snow earlier this year, and I had to go to work, the SH-AWD saved the day.
@@davideg5947it will cost a lot more but maybe 2025.
As much as I prefer the acura, the absence of a traditional gear shifter is 😖 for me. Would really love to see it in newer models.
Agreed, hate that button gear selector and its so dangerous in real life.
@@bedbath9056 really? What makes it dangerous?
@@bq-9238 With traditional gear shifter after reverse I can change to "D" drive mode without even looking at the console because the shifter clicks in each gear. But with the buttons I pressed the wrong button several times. And also having more than 2 cars with 2 diffrent gear selectors is confusing. I will stick with the regular gear selector cars now on. Will never buy Acura/Honda.
@@bedbath9056 dramatic
Literally the 2 cars I have been trying to choose which one to get 🤣.
Interesting rating system.. I'd think a much more intuitive infotainment and hybrid options would be worth more than half a point. The Lexus offers much more in terms of powertrain options and feels more modern in the cabin.
Acura has more space & value.
Acura feels sportier and more luxurious
The new NX isn’t that impressive at all, Acura has been out for years already and I still prefer it over the Lexus.
Thats what i said before the nx went on sale and yet everyone shut me down for saying that
The new nx is imo one of the worst luxury cuvs in its class and it’s really down there with the Infiniti qx50 and qx55
LEXUS INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR IS CRUSHINGGGGGGGGG THE ACURA MY GOODNESS DATS MY DREAM CAR GETTING INTO TECHNOLOGY FIELD I WILL GET IT IN 2 YEARS MAX!👨🏽💻💪🏾💰🥶
No
The RDX needs a touch screen to be competitive
Both are great. I would pick the Lexus for the customer service. If I need a rental it's a Lexus off their lot that doesn't cost me anything. Acura won't do that.
None of these are ready for me. I need Acura to adapt Lexus's infotainment and rear vents and I need Lexus to improve that tranny tuning and Acura's cargo space.
I agree with your assessment except for the rear vents on the RDX, what’s wrong with the rear vents on the Acura?
@@yordan826 I forgot, I think it didn't have any. Unless I'm wrong, don't feel like going through the video again lol

Acura RDX for me
Acura is waaaaaaaaaay better looking outside and in. I drive one and it is FUN
Was hoping for a comparison of these 2 rivals! Great work!
Thanks!
that's the right way to compare two cars, keep best effort, cheers
Thanks 😁
Personally I like RDX better as it has more on the "interior and powertrain roughness" side while NX is too "elegant" for me.
I don’t know about everyone else but I still prefer my AC controls to be separate and not built into the touch screen.
Acura also offers heated back seats.
I picked the NX over the RDX. NX does offer heated rear seats, the push button transmission is bad. If you are a Toyota owner before, the transmission thing is no brainer.
RDX offers heated rear seats in Advance pkg
@@rahimi4762 seems like these reviewers don't do their homework
RDX for sure alongside a TLX Type S.
The Lexus RX is more comparison to the MDX not the rdx
The intro with the car being driven in a circle while the camera watches… 👀 that is really helpful. Just need night shots and you win
Only downside of Acura is not having a touch screen, Acura is going to be my choice if it does come with touch screen.
Old tech lol
Great comparison. Would love to see a GV70 vs. NX comparison if you ever get the chance!
Not worth it. The gv70 already destroys the nx before they even think about making this video 😂

I think you got wrong on auto dimming side mirror. NX has driver side auto dimming while rdx has both side dimming on advance.

Lexus for sure. The last score factor didn’t make sense to me but Lexus is king in luxury in the Japan market.
Nice angles. Hard to find good videos where I can accurately evaluate the size and shape.
I just bought a 2017 Acura RDX AWD for $16k. I’m very pleased with the value. As paying $50k+ for new features just isn’t worth it for me. In a depreciating asset after all. The vehicles are amazing.
Great video!!
Great comparison! Both great vehicles but my wife and I purchased the RDX. We looked at both
A very good analysis 👍🙏
Love this style of side by side comparison
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
In this company of two, and despite the infotainment foibles, the RDX is a far better to drive crossover. Outside of these two, a GV70 is a much better option still.
both side mirrors on the RDX have auto dimming....I'd know i have the same one you're reviewing.
I dig Acura's front end , Lexus back end looks nicer.
lexus interior minus the red leather is my winner. 🤓👍🏻
Except for that plain, ugly dash on the Lexus passenger’s side. What happened there?
Lexus should of put the remote start on the keyfob like every 2022 Toyota Camry. I don’t understand why car manufacturers do that… give their lower tier cars simple better features than a higher premium.

Great review guys love the nx styling and performance 👏 but does either vehicle come with a hybrid powertrain?
Thanks! The NX is available in a hybrid and plug-in hybrid varients
If you couldn’t tell already, I enjoyed driving the NX better than the RDX, but I prefer a smoother, more efficient ride than power, so I’m destined to like Lexus more😅

Hi Adrienne I just watched this video and saw that you have the NX. I would love to know which one you got and your thoughts on it I am supposed to be getting mine at the end of the month but I would love to just hear what your thoughts are so far?
If you can get past that ugly grill, then go for it. Also the weird seating position. Oh and the inferior sound system.
@@gia9815 ahh just saw this. Did you get your NX? How are you liking it and which one did you get? I got the NX350 and love it. At the time I bought it there was a massive up-charge for the hybrid so I didn’t get the hybrid. I think the prices have come down a bit. NX all day
The Acura RDX base model is by far the best value in this segment. The Lexus NX is 10k more in Canada, smaller than the RDX, has weird shifter and door release, cheap looking touch screen, ugly, and noisy run flats. The Acura looks better, is larger, and much cheaper, This is a no brainer. The Acura wins all day!
Unless you hate the looks of the Acura. You could easily mistake the Acura for a Hyundai styling wise.
Excellent video!😸

Just got a 2023 RDX with tech package and AWD. The deciding factor between this and the NX 350? I could reach the pedals waaaay better as a short woman in the Acura vs the the Lexus- they were too high in the NX, meaning I wouldn’t be able to rest my heal on the ground! both are beautiful cars. Is it just me or are the Acura and Lexus startup chimes the same thing, aside from one being more frequent and the other having a higher pitch?
I love the detail you go in to. Much like Alex on Auto.
