@Buddy RC This is news to me (flat governor throttle curves)! - what isn't this mentioned in the newer M2 V2 Manual? Did you ever get any optimum settings for the flight controller as far as Agility and Speed is concerned for various flight curves (normal, idle up 1, 3D)? I've seen some posts on Helifreak that mention lower numbers for Agility rather then higher ones? Thanks Buddy RC!
I plan to order one of these soon from you. Excellent video, I wish more manufacturers / resellers would take the time to do this. Much easier than following a tiny chart in a manual.
Best Damn helicopter radio setup I've ever seen. Taught me something new. I'm getting back into shell's from about a 10yr vacation. You video brought back some memories I had forgotten. Got three helicopters ordered and on the way. Thanks for such a great step by step setup video. I subscribed.
New subscriber, just picked up a gently used M2 V1 on RCCanada.. cant wait to try this little heli out.. its been over 10 years since I have flown . I have 10plus years experience flying RC helicopters , Goblin 500/700/770 , Align etc.. this is a great little heli to get back into the hobby .. Thanks for this great video. Cheers
I have to wonder about your pitch curve set to 56 at mid stick. I set mine to 50. I’ve never seen a manual that suggests 56. Also, I don’t know how anyone can fly with that much expo, I got rid of it all. Preferences I guess. Finally, it would’ve been nice to have a third hand for the binding procedure.
Excellent tutorial! I picked up a Kensun Satellite Receiver with Binding Button DSM2 DSMX & Lemon RX Compatible (KEN-01015) from BuddyRC, watched this video, and my M2 Explore is now RTF.
I wish I could hit the like button more than once. I watched this video very carefully, and with the proper use of the pause button, was able to follow you step by step in setting up my brand new OMP M1-EVO with almost no issues! I found the expo around the center collective to be a bit much, seemed soft and slow to respond, so cut that down and it did great! Also has the slightest of tail wags, and again, cut down the expo there and it mellowed it out there a bit as well. (or maybe I added some?....I forgot now!) This heli's great, and your video taught me a lot about not only the heli, but how to work my radio too! (Newer Spektrum NX-8) Just what I needed as I was really getting spoiled with all the "BNF" model out there. Thanks for the thorough video man! YOU ROCK!!
@@BuddyRC These settings can be also used for the m1? I just got my sfhss bnf version and a used zorro, i tried a first flight but i think something was off in my radio settings.. it was going all over the place even in stability mode and the throttle response was like super finicky and had very slow spool or response at all. Im not quite sure what else it would be but it ended up costing me a main shaft. im going to try and check with the swashplate tool and go from there
Hi! Your vidéo is helpful but you don't explain how to set a switch on spektrum for self leveling mode. Is normal mode is the same switch for leveling ? Franck from France
Man as a Noob to this hobby, watching this video seems way overwhelming! I wanna get the m2 with the t6 controller so i won’t be too overwhelmed with all the controls!
Keep in mind that their radio only works with their aircraft. These setups are really not that hard once you follow a guide like this a time or two. Not knocking their radio at all, certainly a very fair price, and if you feel more confident going that route, go for it.
You can bind a satellite into any spektrum reciever hooked up to a battery ,bind the receiver in the normal way ,then unplug the satellite and plug it into heli receiver, job done
Love your delivery man. I’m waiting for my second M1 to be delivered and im trying to find settings. I have a Kensun satellite and will use my NX6. This was great help. Thanks and keep producing these vids.
The Kensun satellite is hard to find right now but I was able to get one. Easy to Bind. Problem I see is that it adds thickness to the side of the RX (I mounted exactly as you show) and now the canopy rubs the right Aileron servo arm. I think I am going to have to use a dremel to fix that as I do not any friction on that ball joint.
I just order mine omphobby m2 explore RTF version from bandgood can't wait. I'm only doing basic flying don't want to crash it. It's to nice looking helicopter m2. I'm excited

Wonderful set of instructions! With your heli knowledge you must start flying some 3D. Figure out the way to do it, step by step in your mind, then get on an elevated area like a hill so that you have more room for errors and can still see the heli well and do it!
Great video. I have the Explore that I will be flying with a Futaba 16SZ. I’m going to try and use your pitch and throttle curves with. I have a little drift but I might not have the smash level. I did have to adjust the center points of the servos. I’ve been trying to find out more on the self leveling and how to set it up. By the looks it’s on channel 5 but not sure how to set it up. Hi TJ, I am looking to use my DX6e radio with the M2 EXP. I have an SPM9645 as my external satellite receiver. That should be fine. I know there is a one-off step where you have to bind to an external source, i.e. a different receiver. I have actually watched Freddy Cordova doing this and he uses an old 7020 receiver as his 'external source' to bind to, but I note there is a lead from the 7020 to the satellite receiver. The only receiver I have lying around is an AR610 which has no such functionality, just the 7 open ports on the top. Will that work and if yes, will it mean I just bind wirelessly as opposed to wired? Thank you.
Is it possible to set up a separate switch for your in transmitter flight modes (Normal , iu1, iu2) and the omp controller flight modes? I'm already a experienced pilot so won't use stability. What exactly is the difference between normal and violent 3D. besides the throttle curve you assign yourself?

We receive some by air frequently. We have a container with a ton of them arriving at the end of the month. So if not before then, definitely then. Dealers may have some in stock. Just Google the m2
I mean we are biased since this is our brand. But the general public consensus is the omp helis are much higher quality and flight experience than the blade helis.
Can someone help me on what is the most likely problem with my M2? i setup my M2 with spektrum satellite, i binded it no problem. I set up the transmitter. I did not adjust any gains on the board. I flew it only 2 times, and it flew very smoothly there was no problem. But then on my second flight after a minute of flying, all of a sudden my tail motor blew out and did not respond. I was able to quickly save it from mid air by throttle holding, and it glide down, with a hard landing. Upon inspection, everything seemed to be fine except the tail motor. For some reason, the tail motor would respond only with twitches when i throttled up. occasionally, it would spool back to normal and respond to gyro input/rudder stick input , but most of the time it just twitches while the main motor spools up normally. At this, point the helicopter could not fly anymore, because the tailmotor would not function correctly. I dont know if it is a tailmotor defective or esc or mainboard problem. I literally only flew it and then it broke by itself. Although, could it be because i was doing pretty agressive pitch pumps that time?
Depends on specifically which one. Stock has been rolling in and right back out for a few weeks now. The v2's arrived yesterday but pre-orders were fulfilled and they went right out. Currently have 2 green explores and 2 yellow explores showing in stock. More are due later this week as well.
@@BuddyRC Yes but my friends gave me info on where to get that specific one:) So I'll be calling in Tomorrow to chat and place my order. I only pray you have the Explorer in stock?
Hey on buddy rc Iam try to find the receiver your talking about for my omp helicopter. Do you have a number that i can search for it on buddy rc.. I can't find it on buddy rc
Instead of switch b controlling both flight modes and stability/self level ( gear under channel assign) use a different switch for “gear” channel I use h. And keep b tied to your flight mode throttle and pitch curves. Pos 1 100 self level pos 2 -100 3D mode you can go to digital switch assign then and adjust values for switch positions accordingly for your desired switch.

If using an external receiver. Yes
@@BuddyRC I have a dsmx satellite ready to go is that what you are referring to? I wish I had know about you before I ordered the heli, I checked out your site, anyways glad I stumbled onto you. Thanks for your help, Ed (I think my M2 V2 gets here today!)

WHEN DO YOU EXPECT THE EXPLORER BACK IN STOCK ???????
We receive some by air frequently. We have a container with a ton of them arriving at the end of the month. So if not before then, definitely then.
Dealers may have some in stock. Just Google the m2
Is this same setting friend for M1?
Yes they are
Anyone else use these settings and have huge dead band?
Love this Heli and the M1 but would really like to get it locked in..

Buddy RC thanks man! 👍😎
Is IT better AS a Blade 150S ?
When are they going to be back in stock, been awhile
Depends on specifically which one. Stock has been rolling in and right back out for a few weeks now. The v2's arrived yesterday but pre-orders were fulfilled and they went right out. Currently have 2 green explores and 2 yellow explores showing in stock. More are due later this week as well.
@@BuddyRC thanks I will keep checking
Can You make a beginner setup vídeo? Please?
can this setup be used for the older M2?
Definitely. Spoiler alert : it will work for the new m1 as well
I put my Radio behind me, or do a 180 and it bind without taking a walk!! food for though!
Hi, can you share your spm file for your radio setup? Thanks
Hi, it's Angelo i m italian...can you help me? I need configurate my m2v2 with flysky fs-i6x...can you help me?
I really wanted to buy the M2 Explorer but I only fly with Spektrum :(
This video is how to make it work with spektrum. What's the issue you are seeing?
@@BuddyRC I am sure I see in description the satellite binding add on for Spektrum is discontinued.
@@BuddyRC I'll be calling tomorrow, I'm pulling the trigger as my friends in my groups said " get one, it's a must have"
That specific receiver is but other satellites still work
@@BuddyRC Yes but my friends gave me info on where to get that specific one:) So I'll be calling in Tomorrow to chat and place my order. I only pray you have the Explorer in stock?
Hey on buddy rc Iam try to find the receiver your talking about for my omp helicopter. Do you have a number that i can search for it on buddy rc.. I can't find it on buddy rc
Dude they stopped making it! We have been looking for other options for the push button dsm but so far no luck 😭
That tedious method to get into binding mode is ricockulous!
Really finding the collective way out of wack can’t seem to figure it out. Set up exactly like the video.
Find someone local to get some extra help would the easiest route
Could please let me know how to disconnect STABILITY MODE on OMP M2? Thanks
Instead of switch b controlling both flight modes and stability/self level ( gear under channel assign)
use a different switch for “gear” channel I use h.
And keep b tied to your flight mode throttle and pitch curves.
Pos 1 100 self level pos 2 -100 3D mode
you can go to digital switch assign then and adjust values for switch positions accordingly for your desired switch.
