7:14 Rolled a doobie out of the instruction paper 🤣😂🤣 You guys are hilarious AF 🤣🤣 Awesome plane, 👍🏻✌🏻
OOOPS, might have been about 4:20 when we filmed that!!??!
Hi Brian and Megan. My 1800 Ranger came in today. Mine came in without vector. I installed a AR631 receiver. After watching your video I built mine in less than an hour. Radio setup went smooth. I was surprised to find they upgraded the ESC. It has reverse. It setup easy. It was about $30 bucks cheaper, and I found a $30 coupon. I plan to fly it in the morning. It was a very easy build thanks to you. I hope it helps, I bought two airplanes and an spectrum NX8+ through your links. Thanks my friend.
Maiden flight today, I flew without having to trim. Elevator trim in Flap mode was way off, Took a lot of elevator trim to keep from ballooning up. Landings were very smooth. I love the way it flies. Also the thrust reverse works great.
Ten thousand thumbs up Brian!!!! Thanks for your hard work. Merry Christmas to you both.
Loved the explanation of the Dual Rate Expo's and the effect on flying.... Really like the new Radio Set-ups where you are showing the screen. Also, would be helpful to "publish" in a comment or other source the "print out" of each of the "Brian Phillips Standard Rado Settings and Switch Settings".... I like Standards and you seem to as well ... You have a lot more experience and I will accept those as defaults...
We go through them for almost every plane, but if you watch back a few planes, I bet you'll have it memorized in a few short days ;)
As for "standards", more like a good starting point.
Thanks for the tip, and for being here with us!
i love your channel, i learned to set up the gyro (as3x and safe) on my great planes electrifly F-16. looking forward to new aircraft reviews
Awesome!!! Thanks for being here with us!
Excellent hack with the shelf liner! I will use that for certain.
Me too. 👍
Hi bud...... first off I love your videos!!! RC, or ,farm, they are all great.
My comment is about the 400, and 500mm airplanes.. ( mostly warbirds ).
I have been surching for a programmable Transmitter that will work with these planes.
The Radiomaster TX16s with 4 in 1 will link up with all these small warbirds, the P47, and possibly p40 might be different.
Thought you might be interested.
I ordered one today. 🙂
They DO and I have a Jumper, T8SG, which will work for most of them, but I just loath the setup procedure, so haven't taken the opportunity to get the Radiomaster TX16, which I think would be the natural next step in progression of OpenTx, should we ever lean that direction in the future.
Best of luck!
I love this plane and love every single fms plane I own. I got the skytrainer v2 and fell in love with fms and now have 10. Planes from them and this is the newest one to the fleet. I'm not using any flight stabilization cause the fms planes in that style are very stable and fly amazingly scale and light aerobatics
Your reviews and videos are top notch! Focus is sharp, seems to be an auto focusing type camera. What is the camera you are using? Thanks to your reviews I have both a 1800mm Ranger and a 1.5m P-47. Building the used/new Ranger now, after hand surgery I will be flying again. Back into R/C after a 13 year break. Thanks so much!
You must your UPS and FedEx drivers by name! 😊
I have used that Dubro angle measure thingy to verify flaps and other surfaces deflect to ensure they match.
I got balance lead extensions for my chargers. Helps alot with those short little balance leads. I dont measure throws either except one of my balsa planes that was way way too touchy.
NICE! I need those bad, plus WHERE we have our chargers, it's kinda dark, and Spektrum made them BLACK on BLACK to be "cool" but now it's HARD AS HECK to see what pin is lining up with what pin.
Great idea on the extensions, we'll look into that too!
One of the best fpv planes I own
Love this channel! I recently got back into the hobby a few months back, worked my way through all the UMX's park flying then joined a local club where I started larger scale flying with an aero scout and apprentice sts. Looking forward to my maiden with a turbo timber evo this weekend. Which makes me wonder what would be a good next step after the timber? Possibly a eflite t28 1.2m?
i should clearify by way of working through umx's: I started with the radian- cub- timber- twin otter- mig 15- pitts. Grass plopping is totally different compared to actual asphalt landings though. The timber went smooth and I'll stick with that for a while but after studying your videos I think its wise to start with the piper as a next plane after the timber than the t-28. Would you agree? Seeing as the gear on the t28 doesn't seem as sturdy? or rather nimble?
nice flying plane, I have one. Bounces easily though. They have never made the advertised floats available for purchase though.
Oh really? I thought they had them for the 1.5m Cessna 182??? (Same right???)
Brian, are you on the list for reviewing the FMS P-51 1700mm? I’m hoping to see that build! Thanks in advance Brian! 👍😃
I hope he reviews it, that sounds like it will be an amazing Warbird. I would enjoy watching Brian go through the build process and setup of that.
Have a great day 🤙🏼
Hello love your videos very informative educational but I have a question which plane would you choose between this ranger and the 1500 cesna 182 thanks I need and opinion on which one to choose
Where did you get all the tools that was used on this plane the screwdriver set and the scissor like tool
I’m curious about your thoughts on remote ID and how those of us new to the hobby should deal with it?
In some ways I feel like my new hobby is coming to an end!
Hey Brian, regarding the flashing lights. I too, do not like flashing lights. So, the cable you removed in the other video to stop the flashing, was that a special cable that made them flash? I'm trying to understand what you replaced the cable with.
This would be a nice taildragger like the new carbon z Cessna, I can only fly on rough terrain and had but experiences with tricycle landing gear
Did you get the PNP or the BNP like to get one but not sure. Very new VERY NEW haha
This particular plane only comes in a PNP option. FMS offers 3 finish levels on their airplanes:
RTF = Ready to Fly - This includes the plane (with receiver installed) and a basic transmitter to go with it. It also (usually) includes a flight battery and charger.
PNP with Reflex = Plug and Play - This is JUST the plane with a Reflex flight stabilizer installed. No receiver, transmitter or battery. For these planes we use an NX10 transmitter ( bprc.me/NX10 ) and recommend NON-stabilized receivers like these:
bprc.me/AR410
bprc.me/AR620
bprc.me/AR8020T
PNP = Plug and Play - This is JUST the plane. Only. For these planes, we still use the NX10, but recommend a stabilized receiver with AS3X and SAFE:
bprc.me/AR630
bprc.me/AR631
bprc.me/AR637T
bprc.me/AR8360T
Which receiver you need, depends on the setup and channel requirements of the plane.
If you are VERY NEW ;) We typically recommend a RTF option. The transmitter isn't as fancy, but you can get up in the air relatively cheap. If you like the look of this plane, check out its little brother...
ruclips.net/video/1oVoD_JeTMU/видео.html that comes in a RTF option.

Thank you I'll probably need a lot of help 😢
Thank you I'll probably need a lot of help 😢
🎉
Great looking plane, but looks miserable to take apart the wings to fit in a car or SUV.😂
Might be a pain, but after a few times, you'll get used to it. These Rangers are big...but you can set the tail down on the floor of your vehicle, if you want to make it fit better. Some planes, especially tri-cycles, can be TALL. BUT, keep in mind, you can put the plane in width wise, if you have an SUV or Truck.
I'm new to rc plains I'm very confused with the transmitter hope I can learn my name is Tony from Alabama
Do you listen to Jason aldean
I just did, due to your comment.
I'm not a big fan of country music but Jason has some really well written songs.
@@EJ-74 he sure does. Try that in a small town puts the finger on normal common sense imho.
@@BrianPhillipsRC and it was 👌
@@chrisj8307 Yep great song 👍🏻✌🏻
He calls a 17 gram servo a (big servo) thats so cute....im pretty sure those 17gram servos are still in the realm of the micro servo its not even a mini servo yet. Lmao
big compared to the 9 and 13 gram servos that are popular on foamies, so yeah
A " blunt" might be more accurate! Just saying.😷
